Hoki Korean BBQ & Japanese Cuisine in Modesto

I really like this restaurant. The food is fresh, tastes good, sushi rolls are tasty, the restaurant is clean and decorated cute, the staff are friendly. Ill definitely visit here often.

The best sushi place in town. The food was well crafted, delicious and fresh. They have sushi, BBQ korean, traditional japanese dishes, appetizers and so much more. The ambience was very modern and welcoming; they have ambience lights, tvs and even a full bar! The service was exceptional, staff was very helpful and accommodating. This is a must go place if you want treat someone or to celebrate a special occasion.

Unexpected find in Modesto; such a pleasant surprise. Excellent service, staff very accommodating with vegan requests plus the food was very good. The hot love roll was delicious as was the asparagus/mango. Vegan udon soup was A+++

Had a great experience with the food and staff. They had tables that offered an open BBQ but we opted to just order off the menu and save that experience for next time. Food was delicious. Sushi made at the bar across from our table. My mom and husband really enjoyed them and promised to return to try more. I had chicken bulgogi. It was cooked perfectly and I loved the garlic added to the fresh veggies. Bottom line...if youre looking for something new, this place is worth your time. Cant wait to go back!

Today I was catching up with some old friends and was going to take them to the Twisted Pig but the parking was packed. We parked around the corner and saw Hoki, I told my friends I have been wanting to try Korean BBQ and was not disappointed! We wanted to watch the game so we sat at the tables near the bar. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had plenty of food and drinks the whole time we were there. Food was very flavorful and more than enough to share. The gyoza pan fried was perfectly cooked served with an oil sauce on the side. The spicy calamari was a big portion and paired nicely with the sweet sauce they served on the side. Spicy California roll was very fresh and we wanted to order more sushi after. The jalapeño poppers were huge and like none I had before. Made with tempura, cream cheese and tuna mix they were a highlight for me. Bacon wrapped shrimp on a stick were great but you only get two so expect to want a second helping. We ordered the Dinner A for three and chose kal bi ribs for our extra option. The meats were cooked perfectly, the rice was fluffy, and the vegetables were seasoned and marinated so well they were one of the most flavorful and surprising parts of the meal! I even saw a picture of one of my local Rockstar friends who frequents often lol. Will definitely be my go to Special Spot going foward. Next time I will have to try sitting on the side where you cook your own food the next time I visit.

My wife and I decided to stop here after an appointment, the location was nearby, and the atmosphere was great. Staff was really friendly and always made sure the drinks were full and explained the menu very well.Attached pictures of menu and food.Also they have a little robot that follows the waiter around carrying food.

Delicious!! All our food were beautifully presented and everything was very yummy, including a vegetarian roll. Sashimi was fresh and the lady with the red hair was a great host! Highly recommended!!

Came to eat here with my family and it was amazing, food was delicious, customer service was excellent. Cooking the food was so much fun and everything was tasty. We will definitely come back. Recommend 10/10.

Super fun and delicious! My husband and I got the Korean BBQ meal B and it was delicious, the only thing we didnt care for very much was the squid (a tad fishy for me). That being said you do have the option to substitute items which is what we will do next time. Probably for extra bulgogi because that was our favorite. I am excited to return to try the Japanese food they have to offer. The staff was friendly and helpful too.

This place is great! Fish was all fresh, inside was very clean and service was awesome. The rainbow roll and all the different types of meat we cooked and ate were perfect. Annie is a wonderful host. I would recommend anyone come here for great food, experience and service. It’s a great way to experience the Japanese/Korean food culture. Thank you Hoki, and Annie!
