Hometown Noodle in San Jose

The Chinese name of this restaurant means the king of noodle of western part of Hunan province. We tried their beef tendon rice noodle soup and stewed rib rice noodle soup. They were just OK but the slight sour taste of the soup was really not quite to our taste. And cleanliness can be improved.

Since a lot of highly rated and popular places for beef noodles close around 2pm, we decided to try this place out. We called 5 min before and the food was ready for pickup almost right away. We ordered the beef brisket noodle and pork ribs noodle. The noodles came with spinach, cilantro, an quail egg and some tasty peanuts. The soup and meat came in a separate soup container. The flavors of both soups are tasty taste! The meats are tender and full of flavor. The noodles are very chewy and delicious! Highly recommend!

Decent noodles. Price for a pork bone soup noodle and a beef brisket noodle came to almost $30. This is for takeout. Quantity was generous. Taste was not bad. Apparently no msg. Boss lady had good service.

I personally did not like this that much, as the soup base had too much of a sour vinegary taste to it (did not get a spicy one either). The group I went with thoroughly enjoyed it however! So to each their own.

So delicious! Love the brisket noodle soup and spicy tofu. I’ve gone here many times and it’s always amazing.

I did not know that this small restaurant was hiding right in the backyard. My daughter talked me into trying this place while I was craving for Korean food. I must say it was good decision. We tried few items and we loved every one of them. Spicy fried potatoes were instant hit. Hint of Sichuan peppers in every dish would make me want to visit this place again and again. Only thing that this place could do is better service. I dont think they are short staffed as they had only 2 tables full but our server chose to hide behind the counter and use his phone. We kept wondering someone would show face so that we could ask for hot oil or salt. Having said that, it wont keep me from visiting the place again. I look forward to bumping the rating to 5 stars as they have the potential and may be deserve it too.

How is their broth so good? Like its actually annoying how good their food is. Noodles leave nothing else to be desired... Will you guys relocate to my apartment complex? Please?

I came here with a friend, and had House Special Chili Sauce Noodle. To be very honest, for the asking price of $13, the portion size is very reasonable. Its a bit on the big size for a 511 170lb guy, so thats pretty big. Unfortunately, the flavor was mediocre. I tried so hard to find the signature flavor, but it was mild. It wasnt spicy, it wasnt impactful, and it was slightly bland.

This is my son‘s favorite restaurant.there is Grilled lamb, rice noodles, baked bread and more.

Had the chicken pickled noodles. At first I was not sure what to get, but the employee (David) recommended this item. I loved it and it was my first time having a pickled noodles. The spice from the pickles was juicy and was a new experience for me. Loved it and highly recommend to my SPICE-lovers!
