Great location, right off hwy5! Rooms are clean, and fitness room seems legit. Staff is friendly and attentive.
I stayed here for 5 weeks on a business trip. Definitely thought it was a nice place. The rooms are spacious with a king size bed. The living room had a pullout sofa bed. The kitchen had a small dining table stove, full size refrigerator... also had pots and pans and utensils to cook with. The breakfast was pretty good it was kept stocked up until the last minute. They even had evening socials on Wed nights where they serve dinner, wine, beer or punch. Was pleasant. The swimming pool is heated and the hot tub Definitely was hot. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to help. If you forgot toiletries they have some at the front desk. Would definitely stay here again
Beds very comfortable, rooms are clean, staff is nice. Only issues we had were very blunt kitchen knives (a main reason we chose this hotel was for the full kitchen), out of order gym equipment and NO Amazon PRIME or Disney + apps on any of the TVs that we could log into with our own accounts. Showtime was complimentary, but has nothing for kiddos of course. Otherwise, a very lovely stay and we would strongly consider coming back again next Summer!
Terrible experience in so many ways. The room had stand-alone portable air conditioners with ventilation tubes attached to open windows. These portable air conditioners are as loud as if I was standing in traffic on a freeway. Directly below my room, outside, is the smokers patio so all the cigarette smoke flows into my room through the windows that cannot be closed.The iron did not function at all. I tried to call the front desk to ask for a functional iron only to discover my phone also doesnt work.The room is dirty, the carpet is old and worn out. The shower pressure is terrible.Any $ amount paid for this room is too much. One of the worst lodging experiences I have had in a long time.

The front desk staff here is lovely, and the HVAC system works great! Location is wonderful, too. We were surprised, though, at how rundown the living room furniture was, and that there were no sofa pillows. There were also no lotion dispensers in our rooms and only one blowdryer for two separate bathrooms. For the price we were paying per night, we would have expected that the rooms were more well-stocked and that the sofa and chairs werent so beat up. It seems this is the case more and more often with Hilton properties - they can look brand new online, but what you get in reality is always a bit of a gamble.
Overall a good stay.Pros:The room was spacious and quiet. The front desk staff were kind and welcoming. They do have a gym (two treadmills, an elliptical, peloton bike, bench, weights & exercise ball). The bed was very comfortable and I love the kitchenette area. Feels very homey. They have some nice, organic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower -- definitely a step up from the traditional hotel shampoo.Cons: gym equipment was a bit rough. one of the treadmills wasnt working, the other made noise and the elliptical has seen better days (the rubber on the handles was falling off) but works well. There was no apparent thermostat in my room, the shower only got warm but not really hot, and the room had a weird mix of updates/renovations and things that probably shouldve been updated (the caulk around the tub was moldy) but werent.Overall, Id stay here again!
This place was Great. We stayed here for grandson wedding. There was plenty of room for all of us.I think it would be nice to have a pocket door between the bedroom and sink area. Breakfast was wonderful and plenty of seating for everyone.
Great location, but the owners just dont care. Property is overall run down, carpets worn out; landscaping not done with bushes and vegetation blocking walkways; sidewalks dirty, grimy, filthy and in major need of a power wash; Hallway carpets grossly filthy and worn out; room furniture old and worn out, springs in chairs so bad you would sink down deep, uncomfortable; mattress springs fatigued, uneven and bed was lumpy; elevators slow and controls lagging in response; not informed on check-in (or anything in room) that housekeeping is by request only.

Brought my family here to go to Legoland. Perfect location. Stores were close by. But the room was filthy. After a 3 hour long drive unloading belongings to room I didnt expect to see layer of dust on the fridge. Witch barely worked. I had to crank the setting to 9 (for coldest temp). Caked on layer of dust on the microwave. And even food splashes in the microwave. I asked house keeping for Lysol and they laughed when I walked away. Called front desk a few times to switch rooms and they didnt answer. After talking with my wife we decided to clean up the place and settle down. Luckily staters was 7 mins away and we bought lysol and Clorox wipes. House keeping should be ashamed. Is there even a maintenance staff? Owners should lose their Hilton flag the way this place looks. Even the luggage carts look like they came from a ran down motel 6. If youre looking to stay in the area. Do yourself a favor a steer away from here.

Our experience at this location was horrific. My husband and I had booked our honeymoon in Carlsbad and were placed at the Homewood Suites in Carlsbad through a timeshare promotional deal we had purchased months before. I was excited to stay at this hotel as the photos and reviews online were positive. However, this could not have been further from our experience. The front desk representative was really the only positive experience we had. His name was Jason and worked above and beyond to assist us and make our stay better. I want to make that clear, Jason was amazing. Our first hotel room, the toilet over flooded onto the floor after one use. And as my husband closed the curtains there were clear blood stains on the curtains. The second room was not much better. There were very visible stains on all the furniture, couches, chairs, and mattress. There was massive (one can only assume, bodily fluids) stains on these couches. The third room had hair in the bedsheets and the air was stale and stiff as if the room hasn’t been in or cleaned in weeks. Finally, we get to our fourth room. The only reason we stayed was because it was midnight, we had a long travel day, were fatigued, and the bed and shower were clean. However, there were still massive stains on all the other furniture pieces. I would like to mention, my husband and I were not intentionally looking to complain or looking for dust, or stains. It was clearly visible. We took photos and spoke to the manager of the hotel, who didn’t even look at our photos or argue with us. It was as if he knew how badly hygienic his hotel was. The manage Paxton did all that he could to accommodate our stay and was friendly. However, for a brand and company that advertises clean and hygienic rooms, you’d expect way more. Sadly that was not our situation. My husband and I left bright and early and didn’t even eat the breakfast that was served or used any accommodations. We looked at the pool and saw the gym equipment and were very upset. Especially considering how expensive it is to stay one night. Not worth the money.
Our 2nd time staying!! We got the 2 bedroom suite and it accommodates our family of 6 (7 with our dog) perfectly!!! It’s only 10 mins from town. This place is our go to when we visit Carlsbad which is usually 2 times a year!
Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Separate bedroom, living room, kitchen with full sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and sink with garbage disposal. Large couch and sofa chair, TVs on both the bedroom and living room. Lots of cabinets for a long term stay. Climate control and water pressure is excellent. The environment is quiet, except for kid noises all over, round the clock, since this is one of those hotels geared for Legoland visitors. Lots of free parking available. The only things missing is a safe in the room, and the coffee maker is the kind that you cant bring your own brew because it uses those soft pods, which is the same kind on the last Homewood Suites we stayed at, and the flavors available here are awful. I wish theyd switch to Keurig or a just a standard drip coffee maker someday. They do have coffee downstairs all day, not exactly Starbucks, tastes bland and horrible, but its free. Breakfast is nothing special, with a lot to be desired, but it has a variety, and covers the basics. Unlike the last Homewood Suites we stayed on, this one only has one laundry room on the first floor, and not enough washers and dryers, while the other one we stayed on previously had it on each floor with more washers and dryers on each floor than the single laundry room they have here.
Awesome experience! Couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. We got a two bedroom two bathroom room with a split Floorplan and a shared living room. The beds have the most deliciously comfortable pillows in the world! Theres an included continental breakfast for 6am to 9am. They have a pool and spa that stays open until 10pm. They also have a 24 hour gym. Would definitely stay here again. Only 3 miles or so away from the beach.
I have nothing bad to say. This hotel lives up to the expectation as a 3 Star Hotel.The rooms are very clean and sound proof. I must say that the room smells really good. Everything in the room is very well organizedMy wife stayed there while I was at work, and my work finished that day at 12:30 am, so I got there around 1 am.The Front Desk (A young African American, forgot to ask for his name) is quite attentive which as a guest makes me feel safe. He matches his demeanor to his shift. Since he is working nights, he isnt too loud but at the same time he is very helpful. There was another gentleman who arrived at the same time as me and he helped this man very efficiently.The location is quite alright since its almost on the borderline of San Marcos and Carlsbad.This might not be your dream resort but for business ventures and if you ran out of options, this I must say is the safest pick
From the perspective of a business traveller, this hotel is good but not great. The noise fromthe pool and adjoining rooms can be a bit much (as this is a very family friendly hotel). Similarly, there isn’t a great spot to work on a laptop, as the table near the kitchen is too high/the chairs are too low to work comfortably. I didn’t find many outlets near the couch either. On the upshot, the water pressure is great and the staff is nice. Room cleanings happen upon request, but don’t always refill consumables. A couple restaurants are within walking distance, which was nice.
Digital key makes it easy to get in the room.The rooms was big. 2 rooms and a little kitchen.As soon as I walked into one of the rooms, the fan was wobbly, the light hardware in the restroom was 100% rusted, there were stains on the ceiling in the room, restroom and kitchen, the overall feeling of the room felt more like an old motel 6 that a HILTON, breakfast was OK, there was no bacon. Compared to other Hiltons I have stayed in this breakfast buffet. What’s the smallest.
After over 120 nights staying at Hilton properties the last 2 years this location is the worst. First of all they should not advertise a business center, You cannot print documents, and the front desk will not print more then 20 pages daily, (to expensive the manager stated) Half the elevators are broke down, Breakfast is over after 1 hr, the cleanliness of the rooms is not up top standard, And please do not bother the manager with a request to get your room clean or towels. On the upside the staff tried there best to take care of the guest.
I am highly impressed with the excellent quality of the accommodation, rooms, services, food, swimming pool, gym, and staff. I genuinely appreciate them and am confident that I will revisit in the future. The management and online services also deserve credit for their exceptional performance.
We had booked a room for 3 days.. and our experience staying here was not the best. The beds are really bad. My back was hurting it feels like youre sleeping in a cardboard. The beds feel old..Also the dining chairs are not comfortable, they look too old and warn out... We also didnt like the breakfast potatoes were hard and not cooked well ... French toast was dried, no flavor, look like a piece of dried tortilla, they only serve the basic breakfast..Another thing that we experienced was someone knocked on our door at 4 a.m., and we looked no one was there..the room dresser one of the drawers kept opening by itself, I also heard a evil voice next to my ear..I felt like there was something paranormal.I would never go back to this place
This room was excellent. Smelled and felt like home, the absolute freshest blankets and pillows and ultimately clean room.
Do NOT stay there. Poor facilities. Breakfast items run out at 8:30 am. Nothing else is available, not a restaurant or food. No wine or beer either if youre looking for something like that for your vacation. Pack your own. Room is extremely small shame on them calling it a suite. Good luck there.
The AC units all need a deep clean. As soon as it kicks on Im sneezing up a storm and the other room unit had a potent mildew smell. Even some hallways had a similar smell. A lot of the furniture was bad too: drawers dont close and water damage. If we visit Carlsbad again, well find a different hotel.
We stayed for 8 nights. I have no complaints except they only had 1 working washer and dryer. You would think in a hotel this size, they would have a lot more. The pool was also being resurfaced, and we were not able to use it the entire stay. We were told we could use the pool at the Hampton Inn next door, which I did, but it wasnt as nice as the one at Homewood. Our rooms were very quiet and comfortable and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job. I loved having a living room and full kitchen. The price for what you get is very good.
Stayed 2 nights and the suite was awesome. Great size for 4 kids and 2 adults. Wish the restroom was in the living space and not the room. Kept getting woken up every time someone needed it during the night. It was great that they also provided actual plates and cups and not disposable ones. Heated pool and hot tub are open late so we got it all to ourselves.
This place was a mess. The room was dilapidated. There were cracks in the ceiling. The toilet didnt flush right but it was fixed. There were dirt stains on the walls. The tub was scratched up and looked like dirt. The shower head was too high to reach. The tub tiles were uneven. The hall ways looked dirty. Probably the worst Homewood suites I ever stayed in. Ive stayed in other home wood suites and they are usually really nice. This one needs maintenance.
The room is a little worn and could use a little refreshing. The breakfast was horrible because they were serving cornbread for a breakfast choice. For the price youre paying for the room a night, cornbread should not be an option of breakfast choice. This is suppose to have been a great location.
I came on vacation and I was slightly disappointed. The room had a ghost drawer that would open, the bathroom sinks didnt have a door so when someone wants to wash their hands, youd have to wake the person in bed up with a flood of light, one TV I couldnt get to work, there were holes in the ceiling, every night there sounded like kids were playing up stairs, one external door didnt work close to my room, and my digital key didnt work once. The room was slightly outdated but clean. You can tell that the bed mattresses and pillows were old and a loss of comfort. There were a lot of little things and so I dont believe Ill be coming back to this location to stay. Service was kind and friendly, just nothing out of the way than normal.
Terrible experience! First off, when entering the room it was very hot. Took a long while to cool it down. Then the cable tv did not work. After calling for help the service person did not seem to care at all. The drapes on windows let all outside light in from street lights so you could not darken the light which disturbed sleep. The overall experience was bad and would not suggest staying here.
Dirty! Bottom of shower was literally black! Lots of broken not working things in the room. Toilet didnt flush. Fold out couch was awful! Dresser drawers broken and kept opening (we dont use the dressers) but was super inconvenient when its in a walkway and all the drawers keep opening. Pool was not stocked with pool towels, still wasnt restocked after multiple askings. Breakfast was good, no bfast meats though. Staff was friendly.
The room is nice. The people are nice. The sofa bed... eh... not so much. The mattress is really thin so you can feel the springs and wire in it. The sheets didnt perfectly fit on the mattress either. Other than that everything was pretty good. Loved the breakfast!!! More options than other places.
As a Hilton Diamond member, we were heading to Legoland for first family trip and we needed a room that was large enough for the family. We booked a 2 bedroom unit, the size of the room met expectations however thats where the good ended. The elevator closest to the lobby was broken, the room we were given was on the third floor right next to the ice machine so for over 700 dollars for 2 nights we had the privilege to listen to all the guest getting ice. The bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling, the bathroom lights would strobe and the nightstand lamp would turn off and on by itself. We contacted the front desk and was only told, we have no maintenance on duty. The free breakfast consisted of cold eggs and still frozen fruit. We contacted Hilton and was advised we would get a response from the hotel in 3 days, we did but they left a voicemail and when we returned the call we have yet to hear back. Save your money and go stay elsewhere
The stay was great. I like that you cant hear noises from other rooms. The breakfast was good being the situation we are currently living. I like the big fridge and that they have cookware if you want to make your own food. Would definitely stay there again .
I rate my overall experience as 2/5. Everything is good except that I cannot use the chairs, couch, and accent chair without putting a cloth over it. These furnitures need to be replaced ASAP. When I first sat on the accent chair, I felt itchy right away and unfortunately I developed skin rashes from it. It was very dirty and dusty. The chairs in the dining table are the worst and I did not use the dining chairs at all. I stayed in Room 235 for 8 nights and requesting to be moved to a different room is not necessary since I have enough space anyway. It was a nice room set-up except for what I mentioned above. The staff are very welcoming and they are all nice especially those who worked in the kitchen or breakfast area.
The location os great! The service was ok but the rooms could be refurbished due to wear and tear. The breakfast options was horrible! The amount of money you spend per night, having cornbread for breakfast was ugh. This was the worst breakfast at a Hilton I have ever had. Im not sure if this is common in California for breakfast, but it was not what I was expecting to be served. Being a chef, there are plenty of options that could have been provided besides cornbread.
Great hotel to take my family, very clean. The breakfast is especially good. The pool was very clean, and the dinners were good too! The housekeeping was exceptional. Our room was cleaned each day while we were out enjoying our time in California. I wish they still did the shuttle to Legoland...but I still give them 4.5 stars, so I round up to 5.
Great staff, great breakfast and very nice rooms. The pool was nice and cool, the hot tub nice and hot. The hot tub could’ve used a cleaning, it was a bit dingy, but it felt good nonetheless. Would definitely stay here again in the future!
This was in a great location and area of Carlsbad it was close to San Diego, Del Mar, Encinitas and Dana point if you want to go whale watch or dinner cruise. The room was very clean and comfortable it felt like home. They have great staff that’s friendly and helpful. I will stay here again next time I come.. thank you guys
My husband and I loved being in a suite for 12 nights. A separate bedroom, full kitchen (no oven), small dining area and living room. Very clean and comfortable. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The hot/cold breakfasts were excellent. More comfortable and affordable than some Airbnbs weve stayed in.
Hotel was in a perfect location - near many diverse food / drink options, 5 mins from Legoland and 5 minutes from the Beach and Strawberry Picking. Lobby/reception area was clean, staff was courteous and attentive, wifi access was easy. Parking was easy (no fee) and was in a safe location. While this may not be a typical family vacation type hotel (across from an airport), it served us very well. Breakfast on weekends are crowded (to be expected). Would definitely come back here again.
Rating this a NEGATIVE! Dark, old, smelly rooms- furniture from the last century. I got there and was told my room was given to someone else. Waited in the vacant cafeteria all night until the housekeeping staff could prepare another room for me. They gave me a room with smelly furniture. Old bed, no support. All staff offered no apology. Manager clueless. Stay away!!
Enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the rooms were. Loved having the refrigerator/microwave and a table to eat quick meals/bites at. Having the separate room for sleeping and bath made this a wonderful setting for us. Homewood Suites is our go to when traveling and staying 2 nights or more!
We stayed here for a week and it has been an amazing trip. They offer breakfast daily, and a light dinner which was actually really filling. Awesome friendly staff, and clean rooms. Quite property despite seeing kids and dogs. The rooms were large enough for my husband, myself, and our toddler. Separate bedroom made it easy for naps and earlier kid bedtimes.
Nice location great friendly staff. Good breakfast every day light snacks during the week in the evenings. Dog friendly nice room sizes comfy beds. We have been staying here since mid December till our perm resident is ready. Have had no issues at all. Washer a dryer on site.
I always love Homewood Suites and the Carlsbad location is no exception. The employees were all great. The guestroom and entire hotel were modern and clean and seemed to be in really good shape. The bed was comfortable and the room as a whole exceeded expectations. The weeknight evening reception is 99% of the reason I always try to book Homewood. The snacks were better than expected as far as complimentary food goes, and the selection of beers on tap was really impressive. The wine was also perfectly acceptable. The employee pouring was really friendly and welcoming. Im genuinely looking forward to the next time I have to stay in the area so that I can enjoy the snacks and beers again.
Just recently stayed here with the family. I loved having our own bedroom and that there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom (huge plus for me). We had a kitchen, which comes fully stocked with dishes and pans to cook. The living room was good size and we could fit a large kennel next to the chair in living room. It was very comfortable for the whole family. The breakfast was great each morning. The scrambled eggs sometimes had sautéed peppers and onions in them...yum. The fruit was fresh and delicious. Friendly staff!! I definitely recommend staying here.
Been asking about getting my main light fixed in my bedroom for 4 days straight now. I get the okay well get it tomorrow but nothing happens... I recommend checking room and asking for a new one if there are issues.. cant rely on maintenance. Aside from that, the hotel is great.
One of the worst experiences... We stayed at this hotel from August 3 to August 7. The first thing they promised was an early check-in because we had two women in their eighties traveling with us, and we still waited till 4 pm. Then the room had a non-working AC and when they sent a tech to check it he told me that this AC has not been working for some time and is scheduled to be replaced. It was 80F in the room, and we asked for a different room. By the time they gave us the new room, then we had to pack our luggage again, walk like half a mile to a different end of the hotel, and all that with one of the elderly women using a walker. We went to sleep around 1:30 am totally exhausted. In the morning I asked the front desk if we could have that night taken off the bill. They offered us points instead. I refused. A day later someone who introduced himself as a general manager called and offered a 10% off that night. I asked, again, for a full refund for that night. He said that he can offer 50% for that night and that he is being generous, and I should appreciate it. The tone he was using was absolutely condescending and rude. I doubt that we will stay at another Hilton property again...
Mainly wanted to acknowledge the great service by Jason at the front desk who was able to help me after being rescheduled in my work. He was exceedingly helpful and made what could have been a sour experience into a delight.
Great service. Professional courteous staff. Nice rooms with a lot of space; 2 rooms + kitchenette + bath. Very clean. Complimentary full breakfast and lite social dinner offered. Buffet style. Utilized and appreciated both meals. Shuttle to Legoland or Beach is available but limited. Not on a timed route, must schedule ahead of time. Personable shuttle drivers. Had issue with noisy fridge that was taken care of quickly by a very nice maintenance man. Across from small airport- could sometimes hear airplane noise in parking lot, but not at all in room. Absolutely would stay here again. Would recommend. 😄✔️

A very clean and nice hotel. Only two issues. One is that the pull out bed in the couch was not as comfortable as promised. I know that it is a pull out bed but we did call before we booked and they said they were top of the line and that they didnt have any complaints - only praise. If that was top of the line then the used couch I had in college must have been too because it was just as comfortable.The second is that most of the light switches are also on motion sensors and one in the main bedroom was acting up. We could not get it to stay on but as we were not in the room all that much and the bedside lamps provided ample lighting we never said anything. Just wish that they had regular switches in the room. Otherwise it was a great place to stay that offered breakfast daily and a light dinner with beer and wine some nights as well.
I didnt sleep more than two hours. I desperately kept my eyes shut knowing I had to do my best to rest my brain. The heater would not set. The AC continuously and very noisily running in early February (not simply a fan noisily circulating air.) The desk person attempted best to fix. Extra blanket requests immediately filled--does not make it warmer when quickly bathing in the morning.Its odd that the immediate nearby H properties easily allow each unit to monitor the temperature inside. The service is consistently strong and the units clean at each of these properties. If anyone at Homewood has a few extra minutes. The live plant near 3rd floor elevator needs attention. Its severe health issues are all hidden--overwatered, rotting and why that strange smell as one awaits elevator.
Pets allowed! Just make sure you clean up after them! So frustrating when people dont clean up after their dogs. And people here sure havent done that where the grassy area is for them to go to the bathroom.Also, The back parking lot is way too dark. When we were there, there were people getting high sometimes at night, since its so dark. Our Tesla caught them.Clean, quiet and friendly place though. Overall not bad.
Front desk staff was very friendly and professional. The room was clean and the perfect temperature. Pool was a tad cold, but the hot tub made up for it. Great outdoor space with ping pong, corn hole, and grills. We would definitely stay here again.
I give it 3-4 stars for for employees assistance and allowing of pets was great. But I have to say the chairs at the table (cigarette burn)were stained badly need to be cleaned replace. And the dish washer was not mounted appropriately and it says it was cleaned and sanitize...but we found some used ear plugs on the floor a pair of dirty socks and a broken pink zipper..none were ours. Also the need to update water shower head so high up and no strength. But they complied with packing daily breakfast individually which was nice.
Nice spacious rooms. We stayed in a king bedroom suite with a bedroom separate from a living room space. Which includes a sofa and comfy chair. The room also includes a kitchen/kitchenette that has everything you need (sink,dishwasher,stove top,microwave,dishes,pots,pans,oven mitts,towels,dishwashing liquid/dishwasher detergent and a full size refrigerator) which is essential. No oven but thats alright. Its a nice place😊
A few years ago, I had a not so great experience here, but this stay has been absolutely amazing. Ive enjoyed every aspect of my time at the Homewood, from the breakfast and dinners, to the pool, to the comfortable beds and up to date bathrooms. Its also amazing to have a hotel with a full size fridge and a stove top! If you can, I’d recommend getting a room on the top floor, because the noise coming from above me was very loud and disruptive.
Lovely! We stayed for a week, family of 7, a chiweenie and a bearded dragon! Felt welcomed the minute we walked in the door. Our room was spacious and very comfortable! Staff is amazing and so friendly and helpful. Morning breakfast is delicious. Waffle bar and always eggs, meats, breads, potatoes, fruit, yogurt etc. Very plentiful! Mon-Thurs evening reception is amazing. Could definitely make it dinner if you wanted. Soups, salads, breads. Had burgers and all the trimmings one night, cheese, crackers, fruit, salad,chips and salsa another. Just a lot of yummy offerings.
Booked through Expedia. Price was good. However, with COVID regulations I would have expected a better cleaning job. Room was sealed when we got there. Moved the living room chair to pull out the sofa bed and found flip flops that didnt belong to us. Front desk said they couldnt do anything but offer us free snacks since we booked through a 3rd party. Not happy. Room definitely NOT cleaned properly. I dont want free snacks in place of a clean room during a pandemic.
Very comfortable with a full suite that included a nearly full kitchen and two rooms. It is exceedingly quiet at night. The breakfast in the morning is quite extensive and satisfying. Another plus is the hotel is near to many attractions as well as the coast, and very easy to get to. The staff is warm, friendly, and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and would return.
This is a great place to stay when going to Legoland. Its only about 10 minutes away, and has excellent amenities. The free hot breakfast was great. There were so many options: Eggs, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, sausage, spicy potatoes, french toast, cereal... It definitely is not the continental breakfast of other hotels. The rooms are nice. They are new, spacious, quiet, and well maintained. My only gripes are: the shower is oddly high making stepping in and out a little awkward; the kitchen is also tiny, and parking is horrendous - there are not nearly enough spaces and more than likely none close to your room. The hotel entrance is also hidden off of Yarrow. If you use the hotel address for your GPS you will likely have to turn around in the shopping plaza down the street when you dont turn onto Yarrow.
This hotel is wonderful! There is free breakfast everyday and its not your typical hotel breakfast. There are full plate options. Even better is that Monday through Thursday, they have dinner as well!The room itself is very clean and comfortable. Free WiFi so we brought our Roku and are able to connect. There is absolutely no noise from the airport. Great place for families and pet friendly too!
Was there quite a bit early. Hotel staff was very accommodate and friendly; allowed early check in and let us pick one of the available rooms. Room equipped with a full kitchen... Better than hotels that we paid more than double... Overall new, clean, and quiet... Excellent breakfast. As a frequent traveler, I highly recommend this hotel.
Our family stayed one night and though the experience was not flawless, I give the staff high marks for their response.Our room was initially clean and everything I would expect from Homewood Suites. When we returned from dinner, we found our bathtub had backed up while we were out somehow (though we had not used it).Maintenance was responsive but after spending about 20min trying to fix the problem they left saying it would need parts the following day. The front desk didnt have any other comparable rooms available but gave us access to a smaller room for showers in the morning.This was a minor inconvenience but we were open to working with them on it.Breakfast and services were good as well. Thank you to the team in Carlsbad. I wont hesitate to stop by again when I am in the area next.
Very bad customer service. Whenever we requested any service they treated my husband very poorly and even rolled there eyes at him when he asked if they could come back later and clean up our room. Also, they came early the morning of our checkout and were knocking on our door non stop and even attempted to open our room multiple times.
I checked in at hotel at 15 August and I had a horrible experience. My room was directly across the pool and there was 5-6 super bright lights that made it almost impossible for me to sleep, in addition there was no curtains - they do not close the windows, more decorative. Anyway i managed to sleep only to woke up 1 AM super annoying alarm, i woke up in bright lights and alarm which made me feel really scared, only after couple minutes or terrorizing alarm, it went on again. To be honest I barely slept after all this . 7 in the morning i asked to talk to a Manager and give my card as he/she was not yet on premises, nobody called me . I am Hilton Honors so i left an message on the app and still nobody gave me a call which is weird bc on hilton honors app i always get a quick response.
Won’t be back. My room wasn’t ready till 5 pm we arrived from out of state and waited about an hour for our room. Later on in the evening noticed a group of guys in the parking lot with a cooler visit, drinking beer and working on a car. We stayed for six nights the car never left and saw a group of guys on several occasions around this car. Housekeeping was only two days a week to service the rooms and so I had to ask to borrow a broom and vacuum to clean our room. The light about the table started flickering and I went down to the front desk to ask if it could be changed and was told yes she would let matience know and it never got changed, also ask for clean towels to be delivered to our room and they weren’t there when we arrived after being out all day so I had to go to the front desk to ask for them. The dishwasher wasn’t properly installed when I pulled out the top rack to load the dishwasher and the pulled the bottom rack out at the same time the dishwasher leaned forward. I could go on and on . The kitchen was stocked with one pot and one fry pan for cooking asked if they had a strainer I could use they didn’t have one. I was stirring the dinner I mad the handle of the spoon fell off needless to say by this point I was thinking a motel 6 might be better than this place. Terrible
I usually stay at Homewood Suites while traveling for work, but decided to give it a try for leisure. This hotel offers breakfast and an evening reception Mon-Thurs. Its proximity to Legoland, Costco, many Dining options, Carlsbad Village & Carlsbad State Beach is definitely a bonus. Its also not far from the I-5 Freeway (about 3 miles). Its about 30 min from San Diego without traffic. Salvador at the front desk went above & beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. He even made a special snack delivery to our room. Even the housekeeping team on our floor were friendly and tidied up nicely each afternoon. Note: remember to tip them. They work very hard to make sure the rooms are clean & comfy. We enjoyed the option of being able to have breakfast each morning. The evening receptions are a nice touch, especially if youre traveling on a budget. Its basically a light dinner with complimentary beer & wine. You really cant beat that for the price. Well definitely stay at this location again when were in the Carlsbad area. Its a convenient location with a lot of bang for your buck.
Great hotel. Ive only recently started staying at Homewood Suites hotels, but I really like them, and this one is great as well. The rooms are nice and fairly modern with a clear distinction between living room and bedroom. Youve got a small kitchenette with silverware, plates, pots, pans, and utensils. Theres no oven though. Breakfast in the morning is about the same as a Hampton Inn, but weeknight evenings theres a complimentary light dinner with beer and wine. All of this for a price thats generally competitive with a Hampton Inn. All of the staff Ive interacted with are very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
BE AWARE….Stayed at homewood suites for a little over one month. During our stay we encountered bedbugs in room 247 I think it happened when they delivered us a blanket and pillows for the kids. After that they moved us to another room can’t remember the room number but it continued in that room could be from all our luggage and clothes we moved over since it was in the other room. Then they moved us to 256 and told us they are going to wash all our clothes. Come to find out they washed and dried everything in that room even all my nice work shoes, clothes that can’t be dried, etc and all my stuff in the refrigerator went missing. I asked for more to be taken off the bill but they gave us 3 days off considering we stayed there 35 days I feel like they didn’t take care of it properly made us move into 3 different rooms and left with a bunch of bites all over our whole family. I would not say anything but I feel everyone should be aware that they are understaffed and cannot handle the demand.
Limited breakfast choices, sour milk, no shampoo/conditioner in room, no towel or trash service, clock was broken in room, gym was out of service, olderfacility, not worth the money.
My family and I stayed here for 6 nights during November (off season). The staff are wonderful. I was greeted on Sunday night by the employee at the front desk and had a very easy and friendly check-in experience.Breakfast during off season is not too crowded. They always have eggs, waffles, fruit, oatmeal, juice, etc. Not a large spread for my wife who is vegan but if you eat dairy and meat you’ll be happy with the breakfast offering. There is always hot coffee available throughout the day.We were also surprised by the evening socials on Monday - Thursday night at 5pm. They offer what’s more than enough for a quality dinner. And free beer and free wine! What a great deal.Our suite room was nice because we were able to put our 2 year old in a crib for bed time and still have some time together in the living area. They also provide all dishware, utensils, plates etc. there is a full fridge and a dishwasher. My wife was happy because they even give complimentary make-up removal wipes in the vanity area. The couch also pulls out to a full bed. The king sized bed is also very comfortable and is a nice firm feeling while still being soft.(I prefer a firm mattress). There are even 2 firm and 2 soft(body sized) pillows on the bed.tl;dr - for $118 a night off season you get an amazing suite with everything you could possibly need, free beer/wine, dinner, and breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms and hotel are clean. Great place to stay in Carlsbad as of Nov 2019.
Excellent. We stayed on 11.7.15. Saturday. Place was clean. Rooms were nice. Pool area and hot tub were nice and well kept up as well. Breakfast always a plus too. And the eating area was nice and clean as well and not too crowded. Nice to sit in there and watch TV if you want to as well. Overall excellent.
Very nice staff and clean hotel. Needed a suite for our trip to Carlsbad and Homewood Suites accommodated us well, but it was super pricey but our only option. Aside from that, everything was great. Good parking, easy access, room was clean, breakfast was fresh, and hotel staff were friendly.
About my only complaint is that the hotel is positioned weirdly and just screwy to find the entrance, but thats it. Otherwise, the people were very friendly, my room was very clean, (and smelled clean) and just comfortable to be in after traveling, especially the bed. Family friendly with a great pool and hot tub, decent breakfast consisting of eggs, fruit, cereal and other things. And well positioned with a number of restaurants around. If you need to travel to that area, check this place out.
A very nice place to stay, just a bit far from the freeway but very convenient if you are going to Legoland. Rooms are nice and spacious with plenty of amenities. The staff is also very friendly. Plenty of parking and free breakfast!
Stayed here for three weeks, one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in.Staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous.Meals were delicious, the evening social hour was a nice touch.Rooms were always clean, prompt service.Fantastic. Look forward to staying here again.
Good luck trying to find parking. We showed up at 11:00 pm and were unable to park. We were not alone. There were about 10 cars circling the parking lot, all in the same boat. Front desk staff was unhelpful, condescending, and rude about the situation- they said people were parking at the Chase Bank, but it wasn’t on them if hotel guests got towed. They refused to offer any other alternatives. We paid over $300 a night to stay here, and were shocked the hotel couldn’t provide us parking where we wouldn’t be towed.I don’t recommend staying here. Room was mediocre.
We enjoyed our stay. The suites were not large but well layed out. It was quiet, clean, well managed. The included breakfasts is a good way to start your day. Located close to Lego Land and reasonably priced. We found out there is no shuttle to Legoland though, and no weekend drinks/snacks.
Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. I was there on business and they gave me a far back room away from the pool. I asked why, she explained l: sir, we are 3 miles from Legoland and get lots of families. Youll appreciate being away from the pool. I walked by the pool a couple times during my stay: I appreciated my room location. How thoughtful of her!
The hotel itself is nice and clean, but there is something wrong with the management here. Everything says check-in is at 4. We called and asked for an early check-in, and they made it sound like that was moving mountains. Arrived at 2, room wasnt ready. Room still wasnt ready at 4:30 when we came back. Their excuse was housekeeping is on a different schedule than they are...what?We had to go to a wedding, and they would not give us the keys in advance. This is the short version of a really long day and night. All that was offered to make up for this was a cheap bottle of wine...thanks?Would not recommend if you need to use your room before 6:30 p.m.
I went to stay Saturday night to Monday morning, when we got to the hotel we were sent to our room. The first thing we noticed was the room was boiling hot at 90°. We complained to the front desk and they said they would send someone to fix it, the person that was sent to fix it was unable to fix it. We then asked to move to another room, but they said they couldnt do that until the next day. They said they could look at nearby hotels to find us a place, but they couldnt find one with 45 miles. We were forced to go to our friends house 45 minutes away and intrude in their privacy. Ths next day we went back to the hotel and we got a room. The AC was working, so we were happy, but as the day went on we noticed the horrible service. We asked for an extra blanket, bedding and 2 pillows. We never got the blanket and we had to physically go to the front desk to get the bedding and pillows. Later that night we went back to the front desk to get the blanket and finally got it. When we woke up the next morning we noticed that the AC had leaked onto the floor and created a wet spot right in the door way, so every time someone passed from the bedroom to the living room we got wet feet. Overall, an absolutely horrible experience and an excessively complicated and annoying stay.
The suites are very nice. We enjoy staying here because when our son goes to bed, the separate suite allows us to socialize and hang out without worrying about waking him. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Weve had nothing but positive experiences when staying at a Homewood hotel.
The digital key didnt work because of something with the Bluetooth the maintenance guy said. The living room area curtains didnt shut, only a super sheer curtain was there so no privacy if you have any lights on. Walls are thin so I heard people partying in the room behind us they were talking loudly still at 1am and it was distracting me as I tried to relax watching TV. No laundry bag provided in closet. Couch had stains on it. I felt icky sitting on it. All Pillows condensed down to maybe half an inch max with the weight of your head so it felt like you had no pillow at all. Folded it in half, no improvement. Tried one on top of another, no improvement. My neck was sore the whole next day and night. The layout of the rooms was strange because to get to 347 you had to go down a long hallway that counted downwards from 346 then you made a right and then that hallway starts counting upwards again and we found it finally. Makes zero sense. Turned up AC from the blasting freezing 71 it was set at but it still didnt go off even after I set it to 76 so I had to just shut it off.
The suites are always clean with great space. Staff is always ready to serve. The breakfast is always loaded with options. Very nice Monday thru Thursday snack/dinner provided. Ive been here around 5-6 years for a yearly vacation. No reason to look at staying anywhere else.
Great room with plenty of space and nice accommodations. Good breakfast provided at no charge and evening social with craft beer on tap were convenient and tasty! Workout room equipment was nice and funtioned well. Wonderful staff and free shuttle within 5 mile radius.
Had the hotel for just one night and we stayed in the 2 Queen bed suite. I was impressed with the size and the separation on the rooms. I have 4 small kids (9 is the oldest) and they were up at 5 watching tv in the other room which allowed us to sleep until 8 in peace. The pool seems small for the size of the hotel and I would hate to see how crowded it gets in the summertime. The full kitchen was nice allowing us to buy full size items from grocery stores and having a place to put them. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was what is to be expected. I will stay here again if i am in the area.
Horrible daily breakfast, same thing all 7 days.Ice machines out of order.New stay of 19 days. Sausage for breakfast 15, 3 of which was sauasage gravy (no protein). Place is run down, shower toilet caulking disgusting. Indifferent staff.3 rooms to get one where thermostat worked, Shower valve broken.WE would have changed hotels but with Christmas/New Yeras no availability!
This place is very clean, especially being a pet friendly hotel. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Great evening reception (Monday-Thursday 5-7 PM) that serves hot food, cold beverages, coffee and beer 🍺. And they have complimentary breakfast. All rooms are suites, like staying in a mini apartment. Recommend to stay here!
Everything was good but the rooms look like the were a lil outdated. The add on Expedia say it was 7 minutes away from legoland but in reality was 12 to 14 minutes. Breakfast was great 👍 that was the best part 😋 Overall was good

I requested a callback from the manager the first night we checked in on Friday as we found two roaches on the sofa bed never got a call. Then we requested an extra blanket never got a blanket after I called 10 times I then asked if I can go down stairs to get one and they said sorry we just gave our last blanket out 10 minutes ago!! I called again on Saturday when we were there to speak to a manager never got a call!! Every day we were there we had to have a tech fix our tv!! before we checked out I asked to speak to a manger never got a call!. I asked for new linens as they smelled like smoke Friday and Saturday we never got any!!! I still have not got a call!!
Probably one of my favorite hotels yet. Clean, great service, and the food was good. There is not only daily breakfast but also 4 nights a week a dinner or reception. Loved the mini kitchen with a full size fridge,stove, and even dishwasher.

I just stayed here for three nights I absolutely love Homewood suites they are like miniature apartments with a full kitchen oven microwave refrigerator toaster dishes I mean everything this place is amazing the stuff is absolutely fabulous smiles all around and covid has been seamlessly infused into the management process here absolutely love it thank you again for a wonderful stay. Its a good getaway for solo person looking to get away and have some quiet thank you again. Robert
The hotel was lovely. It was close to Legoland, not far from the beach at all. And the two room suite was perfect for the family. Breakfast was typical fare, but pizza night was a huge hit with my kid. I enjoyed the stay.
This hotel is a decent hotel in a good location. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and clean. The problem for us was that it had no provision for charging our plug in hybrid car. On 2 charging locator apps this hotel was listed as allowing charging at exterior wall outlets. This turned out not to be the case, and we were unable to charge our car. Fortunately we have a gas-Electric hybrid so we could run it on gas. So if you have a gas vehicle,e this is a good hotel, but there are other hotel,s nearby with charging stations if you have any kind of EV. .
Too many things left undone. Limited housekeeping has caused much trash to build up in hallways. No maid service daily means having to ask for the things you need like towels.I stayed in room 323 this past trip and in the same room 323 on my previous trip 2 weeks prior to this one. Its a 2 room suite that has a hole in the wall behind the entry door that was attempted to be fixed by placing a yardstick as backing support for the repair. Then a plastic disk was just glued over the hole. Not a proper fix at all and the plastic disc fell off while I was there so I stared at a 5 inch hole in the wall a lot. Also, no light bulb in kitchen table light. I spend 15 minutes trying to figure out how to turn it on only to realize the light bulb was burned out! House keeping or basic maintenance should have caught that. But I did so I bought a bulb to replace the burned out one-Its just not what a HILTON property is supposed to be. Ive been an honors member for quite a while and this is NOT the same company I started staying at all those years ago!
For the price and room size the stay was good. Good distance from SD and Legoland. The room wasnt eat off the floor clean but definitely sanitary. Continental breakfast was good, limited seating, diy waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, and other healthy options. I would stay again as Ive stayed in other Homewood Suites and the experience is consistent.
Love this place. Dog friendly. Easy to get the dogs out run around in parking lot. Huge group of Asian students taking golfing lessons. Lined up 30 deep in back driveway. Dogs had lots of friends. Rooms were perfect, very clean. Loved the kitchen. Quiet.
Great hotel. Friendly Staff. Clean and plenty of room for our family of four. Nice Breakfast each morning and good dinner Sunday through Thursday. Having two televisions was nice. Will definetly stay here again when in the area.
Hotel was great sized for our family of 7 with a nice kitchenette and very clean. But I was honestly surprised on how bad the breakfast was. With our family size, That is always a huge thing for us but when our 16 month old even turns away the food, you know theres a problem.
Updated rooms very nice. Swimming pool is 3½ to 5 feet deep. Free breakfast every day and if you stay Monday thru Thursday there is a management reception which offered dinner meals, drinks and snacks for a two hour period 5pm to 7pm. Shuttle to and from Legoland must be reserved. Family loved this place the rooms a suites: dishwasher,stove top, microwave, big refrigerator, utensils
Where do I start?I booked in February for April. Even their own website says select your room. Not superstitious enough to worry about room number or location so I foolishly thought what I reserved and paid for in February I would get in April. Not even close. Reserved a two bedroom suite. Got two adjoining rooms that are just as nice. No way! A ton more space in what I reserved. Was told I would get a call...still waiting, two days after we checked out. I dont ever think I will get that call.Bed was so bad you could visually see it was bent.Toilet backed up. I heard someone else telling a manager their shower was backed up. I will make a note is not how a manager should care about plumbing issues!Room poorly stocked. One salt packet. I go to front desk ask for more, four people in the rooms. She gives me one. Um, no. I need a few. Makes a comment about my diet. Really?!Housekeeping only when requested. I requested. Still waiting on that too.NEVER AGAIN!
This is a very good extended stay property. It was under renovation when I stayed so I cant comment about some of the property but my room was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed for a longer stay. There is a Trader Joes just down the road and the best burger Ive ever had nearly also (Pure Burger). The front desk is a little chaotic but that may be because of the renovation.
We spent seven weeks at the Homewood Suites in Carlsbad, California. On the morning of December 18th, 2018, I awoke and found 10 to 12 red bites on my back and shoulders. Uncomfortable and concerned, I went to my doctor who determined that the bites were from bed bugs.After my visit to the doctor, I offered medical proof of the bed bug bites to the hotel. The hotel staff was less than sympathetic to our plight, simply offering to move us to another room and to wash our clothes. I was uncomfortable with washing my delicate clothing in hot water to rid the bed bugs. Upset by the meager offer, which likely would cause damage to my personal property, combined with advice from my doctor, we decided to move hotels.Despite leaving we still believed that the hotel should compensate us for the damage to our personal property (clothing, suitcases, and medical co-pays). We once again reached out to management, who chose to ignore our concerns. Realizing that our issues were not properly being addressed, we decided to contact the regional manager through email. Once again, we are disappointed by the hotel’s response. Instead of offering compensation for damage to our property, the regional manager chose to offer evidence of remediation, as though he was mounting a defense for a court case. The hotel’s response to my valid and substantiated medical claims of bed bites was, “It possible that you came in contact with a bug somewhere in your daily life as there have been reports of bed bugs biting people in movie theaters, airplanes, taxi cabs, doctor’s offices, and any other are were people or animals dwell.” In many ways I feel like they are calling me a liar. We lived in this hotel for seven weeks out of necessity. This was not a vacation for us. We did not spend days running to tourist attractions. We have suffered enough trauma as a result of displacement from our home. Why would we make up the bed bug incident?It is unfortunate that instead of putting guests need first, Homewood Suites, chooses to invalidate and disprove our very real suffering. I strongly advise against staying at a hotel that puts their bottom line above a guest’s needs.
Nice hotel however, the staff was is not. We checked in online and had an electronic key to open our room but it did not work. Had to go back and recheck in again. They system needs improvement. After check out we found out they charged us when they were not supposed to thankfully we noticed by checking the credit card statement. Had to call and figure it out weeks after our stay. The hotel itself is nice and seemed clean.
Our stay has been great so far. Theyre remodeling so the elevators have been out and being on the third floor with kids is tricky. Our room is awesome and the perfect amount of space. I really wish the curtains had black out shades. Like REALLY wish they were there. 5 am with street light shining stinks and the sun. However I would stay again rm 342
The room was very comfortable and they served a great variety of food for breakfast. Dinner wasnt huge like breakfast was, but it was okay. No meats, just soup, salad, trail mix and nuts. It came with wine so I guess I cant complain. If you want something heavier, I suggest having some sort of backup afterwards.
We checked in the afternoon. The nice lady Asian decent super sweet. Helped us with everything. Cicisar night time guy also super helpful always respectfull. Super quiet hotel, parking alot is ver bright, security is tiptop, hotel is super clean and excellent maintained. Beds are comfy. The only thing we would do different is get 2 king bed Instead of queen. Best choice while visiting cali. Amazing customer service just over all excellent.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who has a family or like a little extra room. The room comes with a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and a Kerig. The room also comes with daily breakfast and we were surprised that they offer a light dinner with complementary wine and beer, Monday - Thursdays nights. They have a fitness room along with a swimming pool and hot tub. Definitely coming back.
Great place to visit when youre spending time in northern San Diego. They are very close to Lego Land and have free shuttle service multiple times a day, or you can schedule a specific time. The included breakfast is generally pretty good, just be there by 7am to avoid the mass of humanity and people who think its ok to walk around barefoot in pajamas in the dining room. Dinner is hit or miss, and built off of serving a salad as the main course with varying toppings and sides. The complementary wine and beer on tap make staying for dinner worth it. The beer selection is pretty good with Shock Top, Stone IPA and Goose Island.
Our room has a lot of problems. Broken things, missing things, painted over things. Maintenance is not a priority at this location. We were put here and had to sit through a sales pitch for Hilton vacations our salesman was awesome but he couldnt change our minds. Hiltons name is on thi building were staying in and theres no pride of place shown at this location so why would we think that there would be at the others
Staff seemed very nice, but the room was disgusting. Large red stain on the carpet, super dirty chairs (it was so dirty I did not even put my bag on it much less seat down), and extremely dusty. At least bathroom seemed clean.
Room was clean and big, bed was lower quality, thermostat seemed to be reporting the wrong temperature. Hotel is under renovations so there is a small bit of noise and a lot of workers. Front entrance is blocked and the front desk is in the fitness room. Free breakfast is good, the provided dinner is ok, but again, free.
This was the worse hotel ever been in to. bathroom was clogged my wife called front desk, not only they took. 30 minutes to come to my room. they handed the tools to my wife who is 6 months pregnant so, she can do it herself. never again Im staying an any Hilton.YOU DO NOT DESERVE NOT EVEN ONE STAR
We reserved a suite on the 2nd floor. We checked in late at night after an afternoon at the beach and needed to bathe our kids and then put them to bed. After putting 2 of our boys in the tub, we noticed about 10 ants crawling around the bathroom and in the tub. I immediately called down to the front desk and they sent up maintenance. The solution was to spray the bathroom with bug spray, which wasnt recommended with children. I told him that we would let him know when we were ready to come back. Since it was the bathroom in the room where the kids were sleeping, for health concerns we opted to have them come the next morning after we left for our activities.Next morning we continued to find ants in the bathroom, including the bathroom door, but on our way out in the morning, we notified the front desk and asked if the bathroom could be sprayed while we were gone. Late that night we return and while bathing the kids, we find more ants. We notified the front desk and the tow women seemed annoyed that I was even complaining. No apologies. No recommendations for solutions. No offer for partial refund. No vouchers. No room changes. Simply got on their computers and did whatever they needed to do.As much as we liked the room and the facility itself, I find it odd and disappointing that we had to deal with ants on the second level and that it didnt seem to be a concern to the staff at all. Really disappointing.
Location is perfect, just 10 minutes from legoland and Carlsbad outlets Room was decent and no complaints. Service was a little mixed. We got locked out of our room and had to rebook as we had two separate nights booked. That was frustrating after them telling us it would be ok. No coffee in room and small things missed after it was cleaned.
On my trip to California I stayed in four hotels. This one blew the others out of the water.Everything was very clean and updated. It was very quiet at night. Theres a free dinner and free alcohol (really) every Monday through Thursday. Of course, its always nice if you tip the guy pouring the drinks but you dont have to.The rooms are huge. The beds are comfortable. Heck, even the pull-out bed is fairly comfortable. My daughter and son both slept on it with no complaints (but theyre only about 60 pounds each).There are two TVs, a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, dishes, two burners (no oven), a sweet ceiling fan, nice furniture . . . everything you might need to stay very comfortable.The pool isnt giant but its plenty big enough for lots of fun. Theres a hot tub too, as well as huge bins of clean towels. The atmosphere is quiet and family-friendly.Theres an exercise room, a business center and a little store up front. And to top it all off, the price isnt that bad either. Were pretty budget-conscious, and while we did pay more for this place than any of the others, the luxurious feel was well worth the extra money.My only complaint? The wifi sucks. If youre serious about your Internet youre going to hate the wifi here. You can always upgrade to the premium wifi for $4.95 per day. But that goes against my nature. You should GET what is advertised. This place advertises free wifi, so the free wifi should work. But when you cant even watch a Netflix show then youre not really getting free wifi, now are you? I spent about an hour on the phone with ATT support, and they finally upgraded me to premium for free (same thing happened last year when I stayed here). FIX THE WIFI.As much as I hate the wifi, I cant remove a star from my rating . . . everything else is just too good.
Using my app and found this. I seldom stay at Homewood and it is right beside the Hampton. When I arrived at night, the parking was pretty packed. I think they should have a larger parking space, given that it is right beside the Hampton. The room was good and I had a 2 room suite. I paid $120.51 total for the suite. The breakfast is a bit hectic because the dining area was full of people. A lot of families were staying there and the food was gone quite quickly during breakfast time. It is right across the airport.
Just called the hotel and Chris was a huge help, he was able to answer all our questions about the rooms, the location, what there is to do and quickly found our reservation. Looking forward to our arrival.
Amazing value. 2 separate room with kign size beds. Separate living area with a kitchen that has everything you need including plates, pans, utensils and cups. Great for an extended stay with family or for a family trip to Legoland. Great little breakfast spot close by called Beach Plumb.
Nicely appointed, comfortable rooms and spotlessly clean. I think our room eas fexwntly renovates. I also like the suite aspect with living room and separate bedroom. Comfy bed. Nice to have a kitchenette even if we are not eating in because it makes it easier to feed the dog.Typical breakfast buffet of eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, muffins, waffles, etc etc. We did not have a chance to partake of happy hour or dinner buffet.Speaking of dogs, appreciate that the hotel is dog friendly. But there arent many places to walk the dog on hotel grounds. Luckily just next door at Chase Bank there is some grass. But watch where you step. (I am surprised at the amount of dog poo that is not picked up in the few places I have visited in the vicinity... What is it with irresponsible dog owners?)One other thing about the room though: it isnt very soundproof. Sounded like a small herd of elephants was in the room above us. But after everyone went to bed and the heavy footfalls had ceased, it was very quiet.
Window was broken. Not little piece. The whole panel!! Extremely dusty. Seats are soiled. Even called the manager, no one bothered to come to fix the problems. The dust was so bad that caused coughing/breathing problems. Will never return again.
Love having a kitchen in the room, with small kids, eating out is a nightmare. Staff is really friendly. Enjoyed the free dinner/cocktails that run m-th. Really close to restaurants, shops, gas, the beach and Legoland. Breakfast options are also great.
Spacious and clean rooms! We stayed in a two bedroom suite with 2 king beds, 2 bathroos and a kitchen/living room in the middle of them. The breakfast was awesome! I would totally stay here again !
My daughter planned our 3 generation vacation to Legoland. She chose Homewood Suites by Hilton in Carlsbad CA for the Hotel. We were pleased when we drove up to see how nice the neighborhood was and how nice the hotel was. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Our rooms were very roomy and immaculate. Maid service very accommodating. Breakfast served every morning included at least 4 hot entrees, plus a waffle station, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, juices, milks, tea and coffee. Always something for everyone to like. On Mon thruThurs evenings they have a reception with light foods and drinks. They do have a small store for sundries and snacks. There is an outdoor pool the kids really enjoyed. The pool area was very clean. They provide pool towels. Hotel was about 10 minutes from Legoland. We saw a lot of families staying here. Although except at breakfast you never heard the kids. So it is also a great place for adults. No charge for parking. WC accessible. WC rooms. Also rooms for the deaf.
No brained the best family hotel in Carlsbad, rooms are large and well equipped. Staff and customers service are second to none in this tourist heavy area.Just need to book early, every summer for staying 1 week, we usually booked 3 months ahead
The room was filthy,. My has respiratory issues, most of the hotel rooms are catered for people with FULL size dogs, which is fine, but those rooms need EXTRA cleaning, that was not the case, it was just dirty.
Nice rooms. Great location near the outlets and Legoland. They have free coffee and tea throughout the day in the lobby. My only complaint is that breakfast isnt so greatTheres a free breakfast, but it isnt the healthiest. The eggs are powdered, Pre-packaged danishes and muffins. Best thing about breakfast is the make yourself waffles.
My family has been in a tough financial situation for a while now and the staff here has been nothing but exceptional. The desk staff are very friendly and the food is amazing. We have been living here long term and the quality of the rooms in amazing.
Parking is a joke. Two hotels share parking that would be barely adequate for one. We always ended up parking on the opposite side and had to walk through the whole hotel to our room. Otherwise it wasnt bad. Room was clean and service was friendly.
Its a little off the beaten path from most of the sites, but still easily accessible. The staff was friendly and the breakfast is chaos, but still good. They have guest receptions some evenings so free beer and wine plus decent food. As with all Homewoods, the rooms are spacious but these are nice as its a newew hotel (or newly remodeled).
Perfect for access to Legoland and Carlsbad attractions. Boo for Homewood suites - still hasnt restarted evening snack since pandemic. Breakfast just ok.
The wall ac unit didnt work. Pillows were flat. The towel rack was loose and I fell in the tub reaching for a towel. Window screen was off the window so any animal could have fly in. The furniture was dirty. Also, the hotel ran out of blankets.
We came with two kids and a plan to play at the beach, Lego Land, and Sea World. This hotel was perfect! They even provided is some beach toys! The evening reception was a surprise... some nights we ended up not going out for dinner!
I had one night for legoland and safari park.I can see members are care their hotel and visitors.Room was big and good. Breakfast was awesome!
Love this place. Nice pool, fitness room, delicious free breakfast.The room was wonderful. The kitchen had everything you needed so you didnt need to eat every meal out.
Great stay, however, a lot of smokers on the 2nd floor caused it to smell everywhere.
It didnt look very promising from the outside at first, but the room proved to be very comfortable. Clean beyond reproach, from sheets and linens, to silverware and dishes in the kitchen. Quiet, too. Updated decor, convenient layout of the suite, large closet. I will be staying there again, if im in the area.
My husband & I stayed here for approximately 4 months. The staff treated us like family and made sure we always had everything we needed! Kaitlyn, Vanessa, and Angel constantly made us feel welcome and took great care of us! Oh, and our 90lb German Shephard, Iris, will miss all of you!!!
Probably just bad timing but, checked in late only to find the hotel had no power. No power=no wifi and my cell reception wasnt the best. Power was restored the next day but no wifi for the rest of our stay. That being said, staff was friendly and did their best to accommodate. Proximity to Legoland is perfect and that is really all we came for.
Homewood Suites seems to be a new brand within the Hilton chain. Its target is those customers who expect to be in a place for perhaps weeks such as on business travel or moving to a new city. They offer a large bedroom with a large living /meeting room as well as a small kitchen with refrigerator and even a dishwasher. They offer to do some grocery shopping for you. Keyless entry from your smart phone is available. You can check out from a mobile app without ever going to the front desk. The price includes a reasonable hot breakfast. There is a fitness room.
Rooms are cozy and clean and staff was friendly. Bathroom looked a little worn. Didnt help that the fire alarm went in early in the morning, ended up being a false alarm. Only other problem is insulation is thin, I could hear the people upstairs walking around.

Broken sofa bed, trash piled out of can near entrance, smelly in-n-out trash left in room, broken room toilet, closed hot tub that was not working, pool access via reservation only, and breakfasts are kindergarten snack packs. Better off staying at a budget hotel/motel that prides themselves on delivering what they can.

One bed room with kitchen. Small but enough room for 2 small kids and us. They provide daily breakfast and light dinner Mon -Thu. We love here so much we stay here every year. Staff are exceptional and caring.
Its located about 5 mins from Legoland and 10 mins from the beach. The kitchenette wasnt what we expected with only 2 burners and no oven made it difficult to prepare meals for 4. The free breakfast was pretty good. Make your own waffles was a nice touch. If I couldnt get a room at the Residence Inn I would book here again.
I came here with my family for a military graduation and for mothers day. I loved this property it was very clean and the staff was very professional and courteous.
We stayed here for our family trip to Legoland and it was great. The free shuttle to and from Legoland saved us parking or Uber costs, the free breakfast (not continental, this was a full breakfast) and happy hour helped save money, the pool and spa were relaxing, the room was clean, the staff was very friendly.
Friendly staff. Better rates than the hiked up prices along the coast and still only 5 minutes extra away from the beach. Business Center printed some e-tickets straight from my smartphone for no charge. Good continental breakfast. Only thing keeping it from a 5th star is that there is no view and the carpets need updated.
Ugh! It needs renovating and clean sheets. It is shabby, noisy and not what you would expect of a homewood suites. Leaking faucets. Stained sheets. Elevator problems. Dirty furniture. Read all the reviews. This was not an isolated experience.
Horrible and buyer beware!!! I made reservation for King bed because my husband is 63 and when we got there they stuck us in a double queen. My husband could not sleep all night, his feet hung off the bed and they will not make this right!!! To add to this they billed my card for a higher charge for the double queen. Management is the worst with Paxton DeBolt. DO NOT STAY THIS HERE!
First off I have to say that I am surprised that I have not reviewed this hotel yet. This is my go to hotel for when ever I am in Carlsbad working! Incredible staff. I mean really they go above and beyond for every visit! It’s also in a great location for this end of San Diego county! I highly recommend this Homewood Suites! P.S. great social hour during the week!
Quiet location away from the highway but convenient, nice area. Rooms include a kitchenette. Coffee and good selection of teas are available in the lobby area at all times. Hot breakfast buffet, good selection.

Excellent stay here at the hotel. Very close to Legoland and the Carlsbad Premium Outlets which we went to. Also about 30 minutes to San Diego and about the same to Irvine. Friendly staff and decent free breakfast daily. Small strip mall nearby with a Chipotle and Panera. Great area and very quiet and safe.
The two-day bed suite is pretty small, the living room especially. The pool is also very small (Max cap 15). Our bathroom had a smell that didnt go away.

Not very good customer service. Just recently stayed at Homestead to visit my Father and go to Sea world it took 4 hrs to check in. We arrived at 12:00 to check in we were told we couldnt check in tell 4 which I was good with at the time because they said they didnt have any rooms none available. Until 3 hrs in then I asked if they have any rooms available they said they had 5 rooms but none is located were I wanted them to be, so I ask why would they have house keeping get rooms ready in an area no one requested when there is a family of five that has been waiting for 3 hrs they told me they had to keep up with the schedule per floor hour later we were checked inn after 4 hrs.. Now i run a business i would do anything I can to help my customer, they did not UN professional then the 2nd to the last day there we didnt get room service, we ask why they told me i had a door sign on, this was at 9:00 in the morning after them telling me when I checked in the reason why I couldnt get the room early because they were on a schedule which was at 3:00 in the afternoon. I call BS....Food wasnt all that Cold Eggs and Sausage. Wont Stay there again

Beats a regular hotel room any day to have the extra room and join Hilton Honors for points toward free stays! Great rewards program! This hotels wifi does need some improving though, so dont rely on it.

Great family place, wonderful hot self serve breakfast (waffles, granola and yogurt, fruit, pastries, cerial all beside the eggs/meat/hash browns) nice pool, free grocery shopping service, pay laundry room, very friendly helpful staff. Best of all they include a hot, self serve dinner Mon-Thur.
Really awesome hotel! Love the suites, super convenient with kids and great location for going to Legoland. The only reason I docked a star is because the food is not freshly prepared and there is no charging for electric vehicles.
Breakfast was ok but i asked for myself and my wife a different pillow they had a bad oder and extremely flat they did send house keeping to give us more pillows but those also smelled the same this happened 3 times and the supervisor acted as if she didnt care i would never go bk those pillows were disgusting I went and bought one from Walmart

The hotel is right next to the Carlsbad airport, so its really convenient. Close to Legoland too, which works out great. The rooms are nice, although the bathrooms are a little dated and the hotel is definitely more of a business hotel
Love this place. It was a nice place to stay while visiting Lego land with my family. The thing I like the most is that its like a mini apartment has a full on kitchen also it has doors from the living room to the bedroom for privacy.

Really really nice hotel we had a double room with 2 king beds and it wand it was a really awesome size and comfortable stay with 2 different thermostats and 2 bathrooms it was pretty fantastic for 2 couples oh but pricey
The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was clean and offered everything we needed while visiting with our son that lives near by.

This hotel is excellent value - the suites are very homely. The location is a bit out of the way for the beach but of you are driving its fine and the hotel has complimentary parking which is a luxury in tis area
Very rude staff, allot of discrimination, letting people stay that owe over 8k but kicking out people that are, price grouging and price inflation on the military that are staying longer than just a couple weeks, break ins all the time, cars damaged with a torch windshields broken on many cars, management dont care and dont do anything. The owners daughter Jesse works there, she sees it all does nothing, shes just as bad as Paxton, the lies, the games, the false charges, packages stolen including prescription meds. Not a place to stay unless you like Crack heads and druggie all around you including drug dealers living on property
Nice facility with clean rooms and friendly staff. The continental breakfast is ok, but the food servimg area is cramped. Fortunately theres plenty of seating. Parking was also no problem even on a busy weekend.
A good place to stay with family if you visit Legoland, which is only 10 minutes away. Suites are big, breakfast is free, staff is friendly. Swimming pool and jakuzi are great to relax after a day in Legoland.
Stayed there this past weekend and I will not be returning. In the rush of checking out and packing up our car I left my cell phone in the room, when I realized I had left it I called and they told me room service didn’t find it when I knew for a fact it was there.

2024-05-28 03:54:33This hotel is beautiful. The smell of fresh flowers upon entering was so nice. Being able to have keyless entry is my favorite. The room was clean. The King bed, comfortable. The sofa bed couldve been thicker but the kiddos didnt mind it too much. The kitchen was perfect since we stayed two nights. The hot breakfast in the morning was super plentiful. Waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, breakfast burritos just to name a few. Staff made sure food was hot & stocked at all times.Nice location, close to Legoland & the Premium Outlets.Overall a very nice stay.

2024-05-28 03:02:00Nice modern hotel with 3 floors. The layout is a bit odd, but after the 2nd night, I had it figured out. For the rooms located in the back, my room was 256. Youll want to park in the back and use that elevator. its the closest to you. Overall. its a nice hotel in a nice area, with a few restaurants within walking distance, my only complaint is that the room needs usb ports. Also, housekeeping is by request only.

2024-04-07 21:07:28I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Despite requesting an early check-in, communication was lacking, leaving me waiting for hours. Upon entering the room, I was disappointed to find stained mattresses and a lack of sugar for my coffee. Navigating the hotel was inconvenient, as the single elevator was far from my room, and I had to trek for coffee each morning. Additionally, my keys were inexplicably deactivated, causing unnecessary disruption to my familys sleep. Overall, while the hotel has potential, improvements in communication, cleanliness, and convenience are necessary for a more enjoyable stay.

2024-02-13 03:38:33I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were great, but my bathroom shower curtain was a problem bc it wouldnt hold up properly and water would splash out. The staff members were all kind and helpful my 11 nights there. Even though I rated the room 4 star, overall is a 5 bc I would definitely stay here again. Too bad theyre sold out for the week Im going back.

2024-04-11 03:58:36Choose this location since it was close to Legoland. Never have I ever been so disappointed with a Hilton Hotel before. The staff are unattentive to guest. I notified the breakfast host and guest services that a young lady had dropped the top to the oatmeal pot on the floor. The breakfast host put the top back on the pot. I said ma’am, this needs to be removed and she finally did. Needless to say my family and I didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel again. I notified guest service that there were ants and roaches in my room. I was told that she would notify maintenance. Needless to say maintenance never showed up to my room. I had to ask for the trash to be removed daily and for the room to be serviced. I asked to move to another room and they were of course fully booked and other hotels in the area as well. A supervisor or manager was never available for me to speak with. At check out I was told by guest services that they apologized for the problems and would put 1,009 Hilton points on my account. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I can care less about receiving 1,000 Hilton points!!! The management and staff need to get it together. I will never stay here again!

I have never encountered such a dreadful experience in any hotel before, and I feel compelled to share the specifics of my ordeal.From the abysmal air conditioning that failed to maintain a comfortable temperature to the restroom door that refused to close properly, my sense of dissatisfaction grew exponentially throughout my stay. To compound matters, the instability of the toilet bowl created a highly unpleasant and unhygienic situation that is simply inexcusable.The final blow to an already disastrous experience came when I discovered the broken and sharp parts inside the dish machine. Such neglect of maintenance and guest safety is unacceptable.I implore you to take immediate and comprehensive action to address these issues. A stay of this nature not only tarnishes the reputation of your hotel but also leaves a lasting negative impression on your guests.This experience has left me thoroughly disappointed, and I sincerely hope you take these concerns seriously.

2023-07-31 02:11:36Rooms and pool were gross, but breakfast was really good. We checked in and got our room. We went down to the pool and the pool and spa were both very cloudy and yellow looking, very dirty appearance. Once we got settled in our room we found mold along the tops of the walls throughout the entire shower. We complained to the front desk and finally around 9pm they offered us to switch rooms, however our 4 year old twins were already sleeping. After this, I was laying in bed and went to grab a drink of water only to feel an earwig crawling on my arm!! SO GROSS! The rooms were very dirty and not cleaned.I am a long time Diamond member and I stay at different Hiltons around the country every week. This room was gross! I will give props to the breakfast team however. The lobby was completely packed and all the food and drinks and coffee were constantly filled and fresh. Breakfast was amazing.
