Food was good..chicken noodle soup was good.Crispy noodles were different but still was good..The servers were so kind and the lil guy really showed great hospitality..We will come back..

Sadly since the owners sold and moved the recipes have not been the same! And its sad because the workers here are amazing!! And super sweet!! The husband and wife duo are super sweet and kind!! The Mongolian chicken Extra extra hot was mine and my husbands go to!! The last two times we got it was the last time because like I said the original owners took their recipes with them and the new recipe does not taste the same. Havent ate here in a year or maybe longer now!! But we crave it all the time but know we can no longer order from here. Bring back the original recipes please!!

IM WARNING YOU DONT EAT HERE!!! PLEASE DONT. This place is not even worth a star. Me and my whole family agree that this has got to be the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. There was no flavor in the food and if there was it was pure oil. The food was cold. Pork hard as a rock, rice and noodles were like biting into an oil stick. Overall horrible experience, never returning. We told the server the food was cold and he was super rude. Saying This is how we have been since 19...he didnt finish his sentence. My goodness I have never been to a worst restaurant. By the way the Crispy is not panfried but little sticks of fried oil...

I ordered for pick up and was calling right before they were closed. I had never tried here before, after returning home I served our family and all the food was fresh, hot and had great flavor . We will definitely return again, family business with great food!

Pork chow mein with crunchy noodles is my absolute favorite. My Husband loves their pork fried rice. And we both get the lemon chicken. Great food, great staff. Always a delicious meal.

There was a cockroach crawling on our table so we called the waitress over and she said they just sprayed. I hadnt touched my food yet so I refused to pay for my plate. Still wanted us to pay for everything and I said Im not paying for my plate. Over $30 for tea, soup and chowmein. No offer for a discount for the inconvenience. I ate some of the soup and now my stomach is churning. Ill never come here again because they had a lacks a daisical attitude about the roach

This place isnt worth the trouble. I got the lunch special. The soup of the day, according to my waitress, was noodle soup; which is apparently the usual. No variety. The soup itself was bland and very watered down. When my main course arrived, I was hopeful; until I tasted my beef and broccoli. The gravy it came with had no flavor and the beef was slightly chewy. The noodles were good but the rice lacked flavor as well. This used to be a good establishment, even at expensive prices: You got what you paid for! Well I certainly payed over $10 for low quality dining.

Horrible service and mediocre food!! We ordered at 6:30pm, at 7:10 the food arrived except one dish walnut shrimp. At 7:30 the waitress finally came over to see how dinner was, I told her we were missing a dinner and she felt bad she hadnt noticed. She went to the kitchen and then came back to say they didnt have the right size shrimp to make the walnut shrimp. I said to use smaller shrimp and they said they wouldnt do that. So it took them 1 hour and 15 min to tell me they couldnt make the meal I ordered at 6:35. Everyone had finished their meals by the time she offered me a menu again. Completely unprofessional!Will never return!!

The recipes are not the same as the old recipes that used to be top notch. The egg rolls have stayed unique. The chicken chow main Cantonese noodles are orange and the veggies seem canned not fresh but were not terrible. Rice was a definite turnoff. Shrimp were overcooked. I miss Mary and Davis. The new owners are great people but wish the would either go back to old recipes with better ingredients or lower prices. They can expect lower ratings and loss of clientele if the food keeps going downhill.

Terrible!!! We have been going there for years and just got ripped off. No meat in Chowmein Cantonese basically noodles with a couple of pieces of celery for close to $11. Square pieces liitle skinny pieces of barbecue prk. Cold food. Called to complain and was told, I will let them know. No offer of credit or refund even after i mentioned that they didnt offer.BEWARE!!! WE ENDED UP THROWING IT AWAY AND COOKING NEW FOOD. If I could give it a 0 we would. Wasted $40.00.and the worst part was how they handled the complaint

I’ve loved this restaurant since I was five years old. As a child, I wanted to go to Hong Kong more than I wanted to go to places like Chuck E. Cheese because their food is incredible. I’m almost 30 years old now, and my loyalty to this establishment is still as strong as ever. Wonderful people, wonderful food, and great lunch specials. What’s not to love?

I love the food. Its very Americanized, but tasty and well priced. The staff is friendly and the interior is clean and comfortable. They have a steady flow of traffic coming through, and I can see why. Go there, you wont be disappointed.

Hong kong has been around for decades in Merced, I left merced in the mid eighties and hong kong is still trucking going strong.I saw the restaurant at a new location on the northside which it use to be on 16th street.We eat there when we want awesome chinese food, no complaints here. I like the service and folks that service there culture food. Thank you for services when we dont want to cook and crave good chinese food.

This review is long overdue - favorite restaurant in Central Valley! Eating inside and takeout (both ordered online and through the phone) has always been delicious and satisfying. But we love going in to eat because the employees are extremely kind! I love supporting their business, they deserve it.Weve gotten to try lots of things here. Heres a rundown of my favorites1. House special chow mein crispy noodle - flavorful and a great combination!2. Walnut prawns - not a dish I recommend to have as your own plate because it is sweet if thats all youre eating (I dont mind it, but know others might). Wonderful in combination with many other plates when eating with a large group.3. Garlic chicken - yummy and interesting flavor.4. Broccoli beef - classic takeout, always good.5. General Tsao chicken - crunchy fried chicken, very delicious.6. Vegetable Brown fried rice - THE BEST, we get this every single time.I love sticking to my favorites, and want to try some new choices soon.

My favorite Chinese food. The shrimp with hot mustard is killer. Not a bunch of batter, which I really like. Other places have shrimp that if you pull off the batter, there is a tiny shrimp inside.

I been coming to the Hong Kong sence i was a little kid - sharon kongs parents owned it on 18 th street - we all went to merced high with her - and the jews which owned the new china cafe marion jew and all her sisters -- hong kong - (menu ---is still good)--you have be nice to these people just like everyone else - its nice to get the chowmein (haystack) nobodys has this - new china use too - no more - i come down here time to time to eat this chinese food i come way outa my way to eat hong kong chow mein-- theres nothing better - nothing up here is like that- not even close. theres a few casinos & Lake Tahoe which makes up for everything else - Hometown Merced - live-in up north where the antelope rome
