Homey, Chinese comfort food. Service staff are friendly. Can order to go. Great roast duck (juicy and succulent) and BBQ Pork (char sui). They make their own won ton (good portion of minced pork to shrimp). Can buy to go. Expansive rice plates, including bitter melon. Nice to hear Cantonese in the background as you eat. Kid Friendly (high chairs) and Disability friendly (blue parking space at the front door) and a wheelchair ♿️ friendly table. Great alternative to not to drive to Oakland or SF Chinatowns.

I had this a while ago and forgot to make a review. Definitely a very good place for Authentic Chinese/ American BBQ. I’ve grew up across Cherryland Hayward and Castro Valley. I love this place and will always come back for my favorite BBQ pork rice plate.

I entered this place and sat down at the seat next to the door. It wasnt real busy, as two other tables were eating and the take out line was 1-2 customers. About 5-minutes goes by and I try to get some-ones attention. I was going to get up and go to the counter to ask for help [like getting a menu] but a party of 4 [asian] customers came in and sat at the table behind me. A waiter finally saw me [he did look at me] and.....gave the menus to the asian party of 4. I mean, I was there first and this waiter just walks by me like Im not there. Ive had this kind of thing happen here before but it was much busier and I just wrote it off to the crowd. This time, it just pissed me off. So, I got up and left. I would have given zero stars, if I could. If this establishment wants to service patrons out of order and/or larger parties over single patrons [and possibly prejudiced against non-asian clients], I just wont waste my time giving them ANY of my business.

This place is my favorite chinese food hands down its always very clean, workers are welcoming and nice and ontop of that the food is on a diffrent level. Food portions are big, they make the best bbq pork fried rice I ever had remember me when you order it ! The hot and sour soup is so good I added a picture below it has so much crunch to it with all the veggies in it. Ive been here over 100 times Check this place out you will not be dissapointed everything they serve is good.

Great value if you like traditional Chinese food, not the Americanized versions. Some things are changing, cleanup, remodel, newer staff. I hope the food does not change or that they raise prices. Sit down food at fast food service speed.Update: I returned on Oct. 5, 2018. Place is almost unrecognizable inside (see photos). It is a remodelled in that young millenials, hipster-type style with Asian television programs playing on 2 monitors. So far, food offerings have not changed, thank goodness!! Please dont change your menu, HK BBQ.

Food is overall consistent everytime Ive gone. Service is good for what it is. Some dishes are flavorful while some would be better with extra seasoning. The curry chicken and curry beef stew could use a bit seasoning or less watering down. The Mongolian beef isnt the best but also isnt the worst. Roast duck and pork spare ribs does however have good flavor majority of the time my friend and I have had it.

Really terribly tasting greasy egg rolls, one duck sauce to share between $100.00 worth of food ordered and 3 people, no soy sauce packets came with the order, vegetables advertised as sautéed broccoli was actually a container of bitter Swiss chard and to top it off the fortune cookies were all stale. The rice, chow main and pot stickers were delicious, but we won’t be eating there again.

Okay, so I discovered this place through a friend. What I love most is the ability to get duck( 1/2, whole, as a dinner). Its laid out like a deli, and parking can be challenging. If you like duck and want a quick bit to carry out, this is a good place.

I called ahead on a Friday to pick up some salt & pepper wings and spring rolls. They said 20 mins on the phone, I got there in 10 and had to wait another 1/2 hour before it was ready. The wings and rolls were good. If I come back Ill give it at least 45 mins.

Went here tonight for the first time. Great prices! Excellent fresh quality food and you get a ton of it! Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had fish with asparagus in black bean sauce and eggplant with pork in chili sauce. My friend had roasted duck with rice and cabbage. Great service as well!

I honestly dont understand why so many people rave about this place. The food is at most okay. The prices are pretty high compared to other Chinese restaurants in the bay. The food tastes like any take-out Chinese spot/chain and I have a slight mistrust of the cooks.I ordered a whole chicken and it came back missing a drumstick... How does that happen?TL;DR: Definitely better and cheaper places elsewhere in East Bay if youre craving Chinese food.

The location is convenient as it is close to my home. The roast pork, duck, and chicken are fine. Theyre not the best, but at least its close to her home. I often order their water spinach and add fried tofu. The service really isnt that good, as the mannerism may seem pretty abrupt, but that usually doesnt bother me as much. My chiropractor likes the beef chowfun. I need to try more dishes, as soon of the seafood and veggie stir fries look good. My only pet peeve is that every time I ask them to REDUCE THE SALT (blood pressure), the food tastes saltier. It happens every single time, literally. Oh well.

This place is so expensive and the workers are very rude! I ordered the duck to go, soy sauce chicken, and stew over rice. The duck had very little meat on it. They looked over at me many times and were talking. The lady who was cutting the duck showed the other worker and I was wondering why. When I went home, I finally understood why. They probably thought since I wasn’t a regular customer that they could just give me the leftover duck that no one else wanted because it was so bony. Not very smart because they lost a customer over this when they could’ve gained a regular customer. Was it worth it to be so cheap? It’s their lost.

The best, most authentic Asian cuisine in the Bay Area. The rice plates are very affordable. A few months (or years?) ago they refurbished the interior. Nice, clean little restaurant. One that Id surely call a hidden gem. During Covid-19, they have takeout and delivery (I think) on Postmates. They set a table at the front, with a plastic barrier, and youd order at the entrance, and wait outside. Pretty neat and safe system. Other restaurants should also adopt this! When I last went, they havent started outdoor dining yet.

The 580 East was too much traffic, I exited from Crow Canyon Road, found this Hong Kong style restaurant. Very tasty, fresh, low salt, huge quanty, and low price. I loved the fried fish and season vegetable dishes. Waitresses are attractive too. I definitely come back again. Recommend to all.

This is a classic HK BBQ place. I love it. Just be sure dont try to ask for Sichuan or other regional Chinese cuisine. They do HK BBQ extremely well. Some classic items I like are roast meats (of course), Singapore curry rice noodle, and drunken noodle with beef and house fried rice. Prices are also very fair, with big portions.

I think they changed ownership. The servers are different people & the cook was argumentative about cooking my eggs a little longer for beef & egg over rice. I dont like my eggs runny over rice. Update 12/10/21: when for take out. It was a disaster area. They were not well organized. Patrons were confused about where the line was & started to aggressively push to the front of the counter. Staff took orders but didnt announce what orders were ready. So, it was up to everyone to move forward in the crowd to identify their bag with their order receipt taped to the bag. While waiting for my order (40 mins), they had to redo 2 large separate orders. The customers had to wait an additional 30 mins. They are so disorganized... it is pitiful. Id think twice about going back.

Surprising find in this neighborhood. On a Sunday early afternoon, this place was packed. This place is pretty good and reasonably priced. Although one of their noodles plates was too salty (we sent it back and the waitress apologized, didnt give us any dirty looks and had the chef make us a new plate). We also ordered the shrimp and the eggs chow fun which was tasty and had ample shrimp. The oyster sauce gai-lan was plentiful and their chicken, tofu and salty fish clay pot was delicious.Their menu and food are typical of a Chinese type BBQ restaurant. Their ducks and BBQ items look appetizing; something for next time

A little over priced for a not-so-authentic HK style BBQ shop. On the big display menu, one pound of pork belly is $6.95. If it was served in the restaurant, it would have been one order for $8.95. I couldnt tell whether one order was equivalent to one pound so I ordered one pound of pork belly to go, while I ordered other food to eat in the restaurant. They ended up still charging me $8.95. I felt cheated.
