Had a really nice experience eating here! The food was delicious, I had the Mongolian beef and the hot and sour soup. For how tasty this place is, it is quite a hidden gem. Definitely give it a try!

If you are tired of most Chinese fusion fast food cooked in heavy thickener and corn syrup sauces, Hong Kong Chef is for you. I ordered the chicken chop suey. It was loaded with chicken and big vegetable chunks. It was more chicken than suey. It is cooked in a broth. No artificial thickeners are added. The orange chicken is not over fried and the syrup was not super sweet or sour. Actually, It has slightly acidic finish. Very flavorful. The Won-Ton soup broth is salted just right. I found the won-ton dumpling did not have sausage after taste ( I did not miss the sausage after taste). The noodles in the Lo-mein were a disappointment. They have a roasted oil fried taste. They don’t seem fresh, but it doesn’t have a bad after taste. The interior of the restaurant is utilitarian and typical of a Mom and Pop operation. I really like the Hong Kong Chef, but it will take a few more trips to see if I can come to love the place.

Decided to eat at Hong Kong Chef as we were on our way to another location next door. This was our first time here. The food was brought to us pretty quickly and hot. We had Shrimp in Lobster sauce, Sweet and Sour Pork and the Special Fried Rich. All of the order was tasty and plentiful and will be eating here regularly.

Tried their lunch special 3 times so far and each time has been pretty mediocre. prices arent bad but you get what you pay for. might need to try something other than their lunch special if i ever try them again. def not ordering their chicken dishes that isnt fried. its always rubbery and funky. i ate half of it and wasted the rest.

Service was horrible so was the food.The waitress couldnt even get enough ice in a cup. When it came time to pay she made a point that tip isnt included and demanded a tip. When confronted she stated that she needs to make money . Well this place is usually pretty good on there food and service but they dropped the ball today I wil not be returning ever. I have seen some of the other reviews it looks like trash service is becoming the new normal here recently.

The waitress was very rude. She first started by tossing the tea n cups on the table. When it was time to order food, she was more concerned about everything else going on. She didnt even take our order correctly. We were served can sodas, which is fine but then we asked for 2 cups with ice and she tells us there was no ice when clearly there was because a lady next to us had ice water. Then serving us our food, again she tossed our food on the table all effin rude!! I would not be going back there ever. She was even rude to other customers. I wouldnt recommend anyone to that place. She definitely didnt get a tip from us

First time here, the food was good. I had the Mongolian beef, pan fried noodle, and Kung Pao Chicken. The beef was nice and tender. The chicken was fresh and tender as well. The pan fried noodle was good but could be better.Ive had alot of takeout pan fried noodle. This place serves it all together with the sauce and veggies in the same plate. Unlike other locations were everything is served separate and you can make it at home. I prefer making it myself. Other than that I will be back again.

This place had good food and good service, but it has changed and the service is bad, very bad, Mrs. The person who attends has a bad attitude and demands that you tip him and if you dont do it because of his poor service, he gets angry and charges you in a bad way and then tells you to leave and not come back

We have been coming here for years the food is great, always fresh to order, non of that precooked and heated under lamps. They have great lunch specials from 11am to 3pm. Includes your own little pot of tea, soup, rice and dish. The Orange chicken has a one of a kind taste, one of my favorites. Family owned and operated with good, kind service.

The cook is great! Better than any of the Chinese places in Chinatown. I usually order the Mongolian Chicken, extra spicy! The Shrimp Egg Foo Young and Gai Lan Choy is also very good. The best around!

This is the most authentic Cantonese cuisine anywhere in the world other than Hong Kong itself. The decor is very plain but dont let that fool you. The food is really worth it. My favorites include Hot & Sour soup (or Won Ton soup), Egg Foo Young (especially beef), Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Cashew Chicken, and Fried Rice. The nice family the runs the cafe has been there for at least 20 years that I know of and are very dear.

Been coming here for years and if you want good Chinese food i highly recommend this spot.Plus you get your own pot of tea and a little soup to start you free.I personally love the orange chicken and pork fried rice and chow mein crispy noodles. Thats enough for 4-5 people or if youre alone they also have individual plates

Nice little hole in the wall Chinese eatery. Cooked to order and has always come to the table hot. Ive only had a couple of items and they were all good (wonton soup, kung Pao chicken, egg rolls). They always served hot tea. This is not high end chinese food. This is Chines food with just enough flavor to keep most locals happy if they dont want to deal with Peking, which I think is less than this place. Its 3 1/2 stars.

Me and my daughter were very disappointed. They served us old rice that was reheated and burnt. When I told the server He got angry. He gave us more rice but He wasnt happy.He was rude and mean. I will never go back.
