Great food - every dish was good. Great service. Good size portions.We had a family lunch yesterday: West Lake Beef Soup, Salt & Pepper Squid (crispy, good flavor, a bit chewy), Fried Chicken Wings (Disappeared too fast to get a photo, Mom complained she only got one!), Mongolian Beef (tender, good flavor), Honey Walnut Prawns (good, Moms favorite), Egg Plant w/Garlic Sauce (good, a bit on sweet side), Salty Fish Chicken Fried Rice (good strong salty fish flavor), and Hong Kong Pan Fried Crispy Noodles - Bok Choy Chicken.Ive done takeout from here several times, but this was the first time for sit-down meal.The service was friendly and attentive.8/27/2023 update:This place is still great. Since my first review, weve gone in for 2 more large family lunches (12-20 people) and 3 smaller (~4 people) dinners. Food is excellent and service is still friendly and attentive. Weve had a few (fairly large) family functions there and theyve always come through. They have anything youd want from a traditional Chinese restaurant, but theres some non-traditional items you should check out. Youll find them under the baked dishes part of the menu. Theyre basically Italian dishes (where do you think they got pasta from?), like a chicken parm and a prawns with cream sauce. Both were excellent. Highly recommended for both large gatherings or just a night out.

I had lunch here with three of my siblings and sister in law. I had the eggplant with minced pork and steamed rice. The portion was generous and delicious. Service was attentive. Their prices for the luncheon specials are reasonable.Return visits? Yes.

First time eating here and we enjoyed our dinner. Restaurant was clean, friendly staff, and plenty of space between seating.Had the Kung Pao Chicken, Beef Chow Fun, and Gai lan (Chinese broccoli) with garlic- everything was really good. Good size portions. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

New ownership has turned this place around. The food is very good, staff is friendly, service is quick, restaurant is clean and the prices are reasonable. Best thing to try, ask the owner, Ivan, to order for you. He will ask you your preferences/ allergies, and if you can let go and be adventurous, you will rewarded as he understands how to please hungry customers. Generally owners know how to order better than we do because they see what makes folks happy or not. Omakase, Chinese style.

We arrived just before the dinner rush at 5 pm. Ease in seating, fast and kind service. Our server had a great sense of humor, which added to our trust and comfort. There was no rush to scurry us out, although the dinner crowd was arriving and any table was premium. Oh. And the food was delish . Spinach garlic greens are the best!

The inside was clean and so was the restroom. The general chicken I bought was a little too sweet but ok overall, it was served with white rice and a small bowl of soup. I couldnt finish the soup because it tasted like chinese herb or something

Dishes are fairly descent in terms of taste and volume. However, the regular waitress was pretty careless and ignorant. We often had to wait for a while before she came for taking the orders! In comparison, there was a lady from the kitchen came and actually served better!

I got takeaway, the food was great and the portions monstruous, I had some leftovers for the next day :)What I really liked was the service, I forgot to add rice to my order, so I came back to get one rice portion, and the guy gave it for free.Ill definitely will be ordering from this place more often and hopefully when they open for dine-in I can try their soups

Reasonable prices, great chef. You wont go wrong enjoying a delicious Chinese Meal here. The casual diner probably doesnt know this, but the chefs are masterfully trained and schooled in cooking and preparing delicious and authentic Cantonese foods. If you want a great meal, or banquet for a very reasonable price.... this IS the place.

Its located in the heart of Alameda (Park Street). Great customer service. It took 10 minutes to provide the food. Street side parking only. Quiet place. Yummy food. Mild and tasty. The spring toll was crispy outside but juicy inside.

Good spot for great comfort food. You wont find a better deal anywhere else. Almost all their lunch specials are under $10.00 that include soup and dessert, and their family style dishes, you can get 3 for $36.95, or 4 for $45.95 that includes a large portion of white rice. They dont use those foam or carboard to-go containers; they use the quality clear microwave safe container and the food was packed. Friendly service too.As with all to-do food, it is a bit hard to rate it since lot of the food are designed and taste better when its piping hot. The curry was a bit on the sweet side (personal preference) else it was fantastic. The chicken wings was done and seasoned perfectly and their seafood tofu dish over rice was well received by everyone on a cold windy day. The pork and green beans was a bit of a miss as it was a bit too sweet, and soggy (probably due to the container). The other dishes we tried was pretty standard and no frills, but when you want comfort food, thats how you want it done.

I definitely won’t recommend this place: food& service are at the lowest rate. I felt so terrible after eating there or a better description would be “trying to eat”. They don’t care about the customers, atmosphere, food quality. They will never ask you, if you are enjoying your food/satisfied. Even if they’ll see you didn’t touch most of this. The portions are huge. It looks like a plate for a giant or a pig. We ordered 2 different soups, they tasted really weird. Moreover, one plate was broken. We couldn’t eat it. I honestly delivered this information to a waiter, but he didn’t care much, of course. Then I ordered Chow fun with combined seafood: I found only 1 shrimp, a few pieces of some cheap fish+1 piece of octopus (or whatever it was). My husband ordered Mongolian beef with Chow Mein, he didn’t like it as well. We paid almost 60$ for 3 people. I’m a picky eater, I read the reviews very carefully. This was not my choice, in the first place, but our friend’s “pushy” suggestion, that’s why I didn’t hesitate much. My biggest mistake of the day. I felt disappointed, “heavy”, even though I didn’t eat most of this food. And this place visually looks so unpleasant. Never ever again!

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants before the pandemic and the new ownership. So we had to try it after the reopening and found the experience somewhat mixed.First of all, the new setting is really not catered to family dining with very few round tables of party of 6-8. It really makes for a uncomfortable seating to be sitting at a long retangular table which is too narrow to begin with for sharing plates.The new menu is pretty decent and the food pretty well prepared, fresh and tasty in Cantonese style. However, I found the pricing to be on the high side given the setting and the ambience for family dining. It definitely is a negative factor as far as going back again.

I discovered this restaurant last winter when I was driving around Alameda, Ca when I suddenly had a craving for hot soup. At first I went to the one close to it, but they seemed to ignore me, so I left and went here instead. The staff here are very friendly and accommodating, the place is really, I should say quaint for lack of a better word. I had my favorite spot in the restaurant and I would always sit on the same area every time I eat there. I would suggest you get the meal good for 2, for a little bit over $20, I would get 2 cups of egg drop soup (my favorite), House Chow Mien, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Walnut Chicken and 2 egg rolls, you would get the most bang for your buck, plus youll get to have a take out because of the generous portions. I highly recommend this place, specially if you are out on a date and on a budget, and the food is just fantastic...I love this place and I have been coming here several times.

Went to visit relatives & they took us here. Although we werent very hungry, we almost finish everything because they were very well made. The seafood was fresh & I didnt have to add sauce to enhance the dishes. The service was quick & dishes came out before we know it. One complaint is that it can get very loud in here, even late at night on a weeknight.

Decided to go last minute with feeling restaurant close at 9pm. When I got there, asked how long do I have before closing so I can RUSH to order and eat! Jan comfort me by saying as long as I get there before closing, I can relax to eat. Whew..... I still rush to order so I can be considerate. Dishes came out promptly. We ate leisurely however noticed 2 more couples cruised in much later than us and they were in NO hurry...

Very busy Cantonese style restaurant. Lunch menu has a lot of old time favorites that you dont see too much now since many Chinese restaurant serve northern style cuisine. Kung Pao chicken, beef with broccoli over rice plates, e-fu noodles, and chow fun. Staff is very nice and always smiling 😊
