We got there late so they told us we could only take the food out. But the food was quite good and my party had chinese people and they were quite satisfied with the food as well. The food was a little bit on the expensive side for what it was but the quality was very good.We did not get to eat in the restaurant so I cannot rate or describe what that is like. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. We had 3 adults and 2 kids and ordered way too much food... But it was a good price and we love leftovers.The food came out very quickly. We had the family dinner for 3 with 3 soup, 3 egg rolls, fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour pork, and cashew chicken. We added an order of potstickers, large wonton soup, and general chicken. The general chicken was really good.. it wasnt thickly breaded like Ive seen before. It seems like the dredge it in flour and then fry it. The wonton soup had a ton of fresh vegetables. I would come back just for the soup.We all left happy and full!
So disappointed. This place is so close to my work and I really want to love them. The last 2 times I have ordered takeout the food is dry and Burnt. Great customer service the workers are always nice and pleasant. I just Wish the food was better.

I have been coming to Hong Kong Inn for more than 20 years; the food is consistently great and they have the best potstickers and egg flower soup I have ever had. Prices are fair and there is a lot to choose from. In the past few years they started doing specials at night similar to their lunch specials - an entree, chow mein, rice, an egg roll and a cup of soup.
Food was good got the bo bo platter and the honey walnut shrimp with a side of white rice. The fried shrimp on the bo bo platter were a little tough but everything else was delicious. The honey walnut shrimp comes with orange slices tasted pretty good. Service was fast and courteous they dont ask you how is everything while your stuffing your face like some other places. Prices on the food was not that bad.

Not everywhere has good pot stickers but theirs were PERFECT! 5 stars, will be coming back. Definitely recommend!

The dinners are too expensive and appetizer are even higher. and now they charge you for the tea extra $1 per person they never used to. I have been going there for over 20 years and its always been great until now I will cut my visiting there way down and I have lots of family and friends that go there sorry about that

I have loved this place for years but the last couple times I have ordered there the food has gone downhill and the fried rice is nothing but rice and egg now. I understand 2020 was a hard year but removing ingredients from a dish is only going to make me want to eat elsewhere. They also over charged my card and said that it would be fixed and never was. I wont be going back!
This has long been our Go To place for great Asian food! The service is FANTASTIC! Everyone is so nice. The food is always hot and comes out fast. We have been going here for at least 20 years. In that time I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal!

The egg flour soup was pretty good but my son was so disappointed with (his favorite) orange chicken he wouldnt even eat it...i was also super disappointed with the honey walnut shrimp. It tasted like honey mustard shrimp. The pork fried rice and chow mein were pretty good and the service was fast and friendly. Just the food was a disappointment. We probably wont be returning :/

Worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. The Peking pork was awful so I sent it back and a lady came out and told me Make sure you dont order that again, youre wasting our food and kept on about it. If I literally cant eat a dish, I wont pay for it. The waiter apologized profusely for her behavior at least. Wont be going back. I dont recommend it.
Would easily rate a clear 5 if they would only drain their vegetables before putting them on the plate. If I wanted soup, I would order soup. Please drain the veggies, so your great sauces can be appreciated.. stopped visiting due to lack of hospitality.
Apparently this place has never had someone look at their hand written check. I started to count the number that they hand written to make sure it added up. All of a sudden all of the waitresses we at my table yelling at me that I had to pay a service charge for getting a soda because of the can, eventhough I did not choose to serve it only in a can. When I told them that $6 was insane for a can charge they said that it was to cover their restaurant taxes. I cant believe I have been coming here for 2 years now and will never go again.
The food was alright, but I didnt like the Lemon Chicken, which is my favorite by the way! They pound the chicken so flat that when they cook it? It is really hard to chew. Also, you only get the rice with dinner and have to pay extra for chow mein? There are way better Chinese Food restaurants in Placerville!
The waitresses were very pushy. They dont even give you enough time to sit and look at the menu before they come with their own and paper ready to take the order and they get annoyed when you tell them that you are not ready. Then they bring your bill halfway your meal and the boxes to go and leave the plastic bag touching the food sauce. These people need to learn how to be patient with their customers.
One of the best Chinese restaurants around. Not just Placerville. Lunch specials are enormous. Always enough for another meal. $7.99 gets you tea and choice of Hot and sour soup with the nice mushrooms or flower blossom. Then the platter arrives with your eggroll, chicken chow mein partially covered by pork fried rice and your choice of about 12 items. Usually sesame chicken, I went Walnut Shrimp - about a dozen of those in a great sauce. Everything Ive had is seasoned so well, and fried items are never greasy. Very fast friendly service even at peak lunch time. Highly recommend!

Our host was nice but I was not happy with our waitress. She was super rude and couldnt tell me much about what was in the dishes. Do not come here if you have a food allergy. I decided not to order anything since she couldnt tell me what I could order with my food restrictions.
As far as Im concerned the only place to get Chinese food in Placerville or Diamond Springs. The salt and pepper chicken is addictive, so is the daily chicken. There specials are way too much food for a great price and the staff is great.

I have been going to Hong Kong Inn for about 12 years now and their Chinese food far surpasses others in Placerville. I like Hot and Sour soup and have been a fan of P.F. Changs Hot and Sour but frankly like HKIs better. I typically get the House Special Chicken and have them add peanuts. Yum! Their service, portions, speed and FLAVOR are wonderful. If you live in the Placerville area, THIS should be your go-to Chinese restaurant. Really. Im not kidding.

2023-08-18 15:56:08I started going here years ago and the food is always good and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are tons of options to choose from and Ive never had a problem with the food or service. I believe Iced Tea isnt on the menu, but is available. While they are busy during meal hours, there is rarely a wait and usually a relatively close space for parking. The restaurant is relatively clean and nice, except some common maintenance issues. The two things I noted, without looking very hard, was the booth seats needed reupholstered (they were repaired with patches) and the restroom door needed a metal guard to protect the paint from greasy hands and associated scrubbing with cleaners to get the grease off. Both issues are quite common in the restaurant world, but fixing them would increase the ambiance.

2022-08-20 02:09:40We eat here every couple of months. The to-go meal we got tonight was disgusting. Some kind of twice overcooked cooked cabbage mixed into pork chow fun. Vegetable deluxe was overcooked. Something in one of those dishes tasted rotted. Can’t recommend. Lost us on this one.
