I had the pleasure of dining at Hooked on Sushi, and it was an experience that I think is worth sharing. It was an unusual scenario because I arrived just 20 minutes before closing time. Despite the timing, the staff welcomed me with open arms and displayed genuine warmth and hospitality.I could tell they were preparing to wrap up for the day, but they didn’t let this show in their demeanor or in the quality of their service. If anything, they seemed to go the extra mile to ensure my dining experience was as good as any other customer’s would be at peak hours.I want to commend the staff for their professional conduct. I understand that my late arrival could have been an inconvenience, and I appreciate their graciousness in accommodating me. The level of service I received was beyond what I expected, and it’s not something you come across every day.As for the sushi, it was a feast for the taste buds. Every piece was a perfect blend of flavors and freshness, testament to the chefs’ skills and passion.In conclusion, Hooked on Sushi not only won me over with their fantastic food but also with their exceptional customer service. They’ve set the bar high for hospitality in the industry, and I can’t wait for my next visit. My sincere thanks to the team at Hooked on Sushi - I hope this review conveys just how much I appreciated your efforts last night.

Their lunch special is DIVINE. Great value. You’ll leave full and with leftovers! Every time I come here I am seated and served quickly. The food is also consistent!I feel like if I closed my eyes I’d believe I was having sushi from a 5-star restaurant. But it’s a casual comfortable place that’s family friendly. Win-win!They also present their rolls beautifully. I am so happy I found this gem!

Had pretty horrible service here, but food was good. Received the wrong sushi order first, which was corrected. Also ordered a 3-item combo but only received 2-items, one of which I did not order. I didn’t complain, but asked them to only charge me for a 2-item combo, to which they argued that I had received my order. Eventually, they agreed and switched the bill, but charged me extra for the item I received that I didn’t even order.

Great at communicating with customers and seeing if everything is good. Highly recommend for people looking for great food & great prices. If you’re lucky enough to get Emma as a waiter she will make sure your experience is top notch. A must go to place hands down.

We have been long time customers of this place (mostly take out orders) and recently saw that they raised their prices, which would of been fine if the quality of food would the very least stay the same. We ordered today - teriyaki chicken and teriyaki salmon with just a little sauce on top of a poor looking lettuce. Sushi rolls were looking and tasting not fresh. Overall, we didn’t have a great experience.

Sooo we have been coming here for years! Literal regulars at least once a week if not more.. the district manager and Johanna (she’s no longer there) know us well and the family. The last 3 times we have been served by this girl who is the definition or rude and clearly discriminates. She’s got curly hair, glasses pierced nose not sure what her name is. The first time being served by her she was rushing us out even though it was an hours before closing and to be honest there was only 1 other table so didn’t understand that. By the time we wrapped it up so she could go home because clearly we were inconveniencing her, we left cash to pay our bill and didn’t need change but also we waited for about 5 minutes and she never came back to our table once we got the check so when we got up to leave she was at the front and looked at us and was like “you need to pay for your bill you can’t leave” as to which I proceeded with “..we left cash on the table and you never came back to get it”. Then she played it off like she didn’t just try to totally assume we would walk out without paying for our meal after being regulars. THEN today, we got seated with no menus and she comes over and is like what can I get you today? Haha it’s honestly hilarious to me that what kind of waitress are you to ask someone what they want with no menu in front of them. Then once our food comes out and we get the bill she stands and is just staring at us while we pay with CASH again. She grabs the bill from us and is like “let me put your phone number in” guess what we didn’t write our phone number down, and she looked at the receipt and I’m waiting for her to realize that and she doesn’t at all she literally wanted to count the money to make sure we left enough AGAIN DISCRIMINATING against us assuming we wouldn’t pay for our meal. I go up to her and I’m like don’t you need our phone number to put in the points she’s like yeah I said well we didn’t write our phone number down? She’s like ohhhhh here you go, I said did you use that as an excuse because you think we weren’t going to pay for our bill? Again making assumptions and not learning from the first time. Yeah if you get helped by her good luck she’s rude and hooked on sushi just lost a regular!

Lunch special is a great deal. Lots of good food options with big portions. I sat here for a few hours working and everyone was very nice about it. Would definitely go back!

One of our favorite sushi in our beautiful town Encinitas. It is located in the shopping plaza and we love going there . Our favorites are Homi, Bruce Lee, Mexican gone wild, their lunch specials and bento boxes are also fabulous… many many more, try and you won’t regret.
