My friend and I came here on a whim. We came in at lunchtime and there was barely anyone else there. The place looked decent enough but could use an upgrade. The fountain in front looked like it hasnt been used in years and there was an empty sushi bar not being used. But the staff were nice and the service was quick and responsive.We did the AYCE option. You can pull sushi straight from the rotating boats or order straight from the staff for bigger portions. I wish the boats were more filled up, it seemed like most of the boats had nothing on them for so long. Not sure if that was because it was a very slow day or thats the norm. The sushi I did eat was fine. Not the worst but definitely not the best. I really enjoyed the gyoza when it was fresh. The ones on the boat were definitely sitting a while.Overall, if youre craving sushi, this is an ok place to fulfill that itch. Very drab looking environment but good service and the food is ok.

This place is amazing!! We came for the all you can eat lunch sushi. The price was great and the sushi was unbeatable, the chefs were extremely attentive and asked us if we’d like anything special made. Everything was very fresh and it showed. Without a doubt will be returning!

Its really great, had a pleasant meal here at noon today, professional chef and wonderful cooking show. I like steaks that are well-done, and the chef here recommended medium-rare steaks, which exceeded my expectations! Warm, wonderful, good food, great to come here with family and friends.

Was in the mood for all you can eat sushi but my favorite restaurant was closed so I found this location through Yelp and I was not disappointed. The sushi bar was not busy and the service was great and very personal. Evert item was freshly made to order and ever item tasted great. On top of it all it was cheaper than where I had originally planned to go. I may have a new favorite sushi buffet.

I was actually trying to go to another all you can eat sushi restaurant in the area, but this one turned out to be better. Very quick to deliver ordered sushi and observant to ask about getting more.I was a bit confused on the price initially, but even though it was the higher price on menu, it was 3/4 the price of a similar restaurant in the area and a nicer setting.

The family went to celebrate a birthday there. It was all our first time. The older chefs at the other table did an outstanding job entertaining their customers. We got a younger chef at our table and wasn’t as entertaining as the others. The food was ok. I definitely had better at a lower prices elsewhere.

My family and I have been coming here for the past 3yrs . The food and service NEVER disappoints. The staff here has been so friendly and accommodating. This is our go to hibachi and sushi place. Even with the short staff they have always made it happen. (P.s just went last week no hibachi on sundays due to the staff shortage) Thank you to everyone at Hisui you guys are amazing!

Been coming here for my sushi fix for the last few months. The staff is pretty friendly, the chefs very accommodating. The sushi is very good for its price, and the drink options are excellent. Its usually quiet, relatively calm even on weekends.

Overall I was very disappointed. We ordered the all you can eat buffet which is brought to you as you order it and we also ordered off the menu. Service was rather slow we continually had to track down the waiter and waitress. Just an overall experience that lacks quality food and service. I wouldn’t go back here.

Badly needs renovating and refreshment on the decor. Some new carpet and paint would go a long way! We came on a day the temp was in the triple digits and we were sweating while we were eating, so a new air conditioner would really make this place more comfortable for customers. Food was okay for the price but I dont know how we felt about eating raw fish in such a hot restaurant. Wouldnt necessarily recommend this place.

Yes love this place. Happy hour is amazing. Mixed drinks $4.00 made right! All sushi rolls on happy hour are half off. We bout 4 rolls and 2 long islands spent $40.00 not bad at all. This place is worth it. Staff is nice.

This place is great. My wife loves sushi but im vegetarian. Its sometimes difficult at all-you-can-eat buffet finding vegetarian options. The chefs took a minute to process my requirements but soon presented me with a feast of at least 4 different vegetarian rolls. They are definitely underselling their vegetarian friendliness.

Dinning room is open and now is the time for a personal hibachi dinner...dave put on a great show and a delicious dinner...lobster was overcooked but the shrimps and scallops were phenomenal. All in all entertaining and good food. I think sushi is their strong suit here but had to try the hibachi.

Sadly to say the place is going downhill so fast, as you park the lot is run down, has deep pot holes, landscape is horrible dying, dried plants, windows from outside looks like it has wallpaper or stickers coming off for shades. Walked in to smell dirty carpet. Got the buffet, raw fish was warm, there is duct tape holding the small fridge thingy to keep raw fish cold. Ordered 2 rolls, salmon was warm and had a black hair!!! (I’m blonde) my water glass has something in it too. Went to bathroom thought I was going to get sick, dirty old toilet brush was hanging brush side up on grab bar!!! The 2nd toilet has about 6-7inches thick of silicone sealant like it was just slapped on with bare hands, and still toilet is lopsided. We paid for our food & left, we won’t be going back!!! Driving home I got sick, and still getting sick 24hrs later, that is why I decided to post/share.

Great price for all you can eat wth the novelty of watching your food float by.I included photos so you can see the rice to fish ratio. Pretty decent. One roll had too much rice, but that was about it. I think the price was $14.99 for all you can eat lunch on a Friday? Price raises on the weekend.You can also get dessert for free I believe. They offered us banana tempura but we were so full we didnt try it. Meal comes with miso soup. Theres even option for yellow tail Maki.Its all nigiri (no sashimi) but we were pleased by the quality and variety

Went to see what had happened to the old Hisui. It was a bit too late to have the sushi buffet (cut-off is 2:15 for lunch), so we shared a bento box with California roll & chicken teriyaki. The miso soup was good, flavorful and not too salty. We ordered the calamari tempura appetizer which wasnt actually tempura but panko breaded sticks. It was fresh and tender but a bit too salty and came with a blander than usual tempura dipping sauce. The salad in the bento box was in good shape, coated with pretty much coleslaw dressing. The California roll was nothing special, about supermarket grade. The cucumber salad was unremarkable. The chicken was a sliced-up breast portion cooked separately from and placed on a bed of fairly bland teriyaki sauce. The rice was fine, appropriately sticky.The box & calamari came to $34.Service was good & kept our water glasses full.I dont know if Hoshi is a renaming or new business from Hisui, but it isnt up to what we had come to expect from its predecessor.

The change of ownership had taken this place down hill. The new servers have zero knowledge of the menus and the food is nowhere near as good as it was before. The wrist of the food was the ingredients on rolls, they were stale and soggy. Its such a bummer because we used to go there all the time for the great service and pretty decent food.

I ordered sashimi and pointed to the item on the menu. They brought me nigeri sushi and after one hour I had to refuse the order because we were on a road trip & and 2-1/2 hours from home. They had not even started remaking it after the 1st 45 minutes. They said they were too busy. Unfortunately I must report as we rely on these reviews.

The food was great. My family wanted the all you can eat sushi so we sat at the boat bar, I ordered a bento box from the menu. I had teriyaki beef and sesame chicken. The chicken is breaded and the sauce drizzled on which was so good. The beef was nice tender pieces well sauced and tasted good. Alcohol choices are old fashioned but fun. Great Blue Hawaii. My family liked every thing they ate from the sushi bar. You could grab from the boats which were kept well stocked or you could order specific rolls.

The food was good, but the service was a solid meh and the place is in dire need of a renovation.We went here for a Teppan dinner. We have a usual Teppan restaurant near us we go to and love, but because we were meeting some people half way, we decided to try this one.Our chef was personable and wasnt particularly bad in any way, but Ive had far better Teppan chefs. Of note, our shrimp appetizer came last, and I got the same amount of shrimp as everyone else, which wouldnt be a problem except I ordered the steak and shrimp course. (I should have gotten shrimp appetizer plus my entree shrimp) It also felt like the chef was just trying to get everything done as quickly as possible, rather than the relaxed dinner-show Teppan is supposed to be.The food was decent. Not amazing, but not bad in any way. For the price we paid though, it should have been a lot better.The atmosphere was pretty terrible. The place feels like it belongs in a mall in the early 80s. Incidentally, I think thats also the last time any repairs or cleaning was done. The first thing you notice as you walk in is an empty and rather sad Koi pond. When we got to our table, it was literally falling apart; part of the trim around the cooking surface was coming off and making it both unsightly and annoying to work around. The table across from us had some issue with the burner; they appeared to be trying to get the pilot light lit after the table was already sat. It seemed like there were about to move everyone but they finally got the burner working. The carpet was an ugly shade of puke-green and was very old.Overall I didnt really like this place. The food isnt going to make you sick or anything, and it wasnt un-enjoyable, but I wont be visiting again.

We had a great teppanyaki experience on Friday night. Our son wanted to go for his birthday. The chef for our table was talkative with our whole group,including the kids. He did a few fun tricks which we all loved too. We had some Nigiri, a roll and gyoza as appetizer. All good! We were a party of 5 and everyone was happy with our Teppanyaki food orders for dinner from all seafood, shrimp kids order, beef and lobster and the filet and scallops. (All beef was perfect Med. rare) The fried rice portions were significant too. Good sake options. Only downside was limited wine options to Chardonnay for white and maybe just cab for red wine drinkers.If the building owners would do a little exterior painting I think the restaurant would be more inviting and they’d bring in more business. Teppanyaki style dinner is always a fun night out and especially for a group or celebration!Interior isn’t fancy but felt clean and like any other Teppanyaki place we’ve been too.

First off, the waitress didn’t know the answers to any of our questions. My friend has a shrimp allergy and they didn’t understand and once they did, they told us they had no substitutions for that.If you get the hibachi, you’re getting 90% of onions as the vegetable.We didn’t see the waitress once to fill up our drinks. The food and service are still top-notch, but just getting to the location requires entry through the adjacent tire stores driveway and the interior hasnt been updated since at least the early 90s. Regardless, the restaurant is clean, maintained, and even though they closed the sushi-boats floating by feature due to staffing, my experience was attentive staff and short wait times between ordering and delivery of delicious sushi.

After a night of shopping at the outlets, sushi was a must. Most places were closed but luckily Hisui was open. It may look a little sketch on the outside but on the inside is where things really matter. The staff is friendly & welcomes you with open arms. & the place is much bigger than you think. I think there are two dining areas, a bar & a sushi bar. The food is just what youd expect. I got full off of one deep fried roll. & the prices are decent. So stop on by next time you need a late night sushi fix (open until 10 I believe) or dine in with your date. Regardless, you will not be disappointed.

My sister & I treated our kids & grandkids to hibachi dinner on 11/1/14. Due to traffic a couple people were later than our reservation time, but the staff was very accommodating & seated us at the table anyway, then proceeded to quickly serve drinks. Once everyone was seated the chef started with his presentation. He was clever, funny, and very adept at his job. The food was great. The service was fantastic. I had baked a cake for my daughter & our waitress brought it out with the ice cream and had even put candles on it. I cannot say enough about the entire experience. We had a grand time and will certainly return.

Its been many years since we came here, right to be exact. We were not impressed the first time but this visit was much better. We were party of a large group that too both sides of the hibachi grill. Now I am definitely not a hibachi chef, they are unrivaled in their showmanship and skill.. But.. there was only one.. had we just been a two separate groups we would have had a cook each.. and or versus.. only cooked on one side rather than both. It took forever for each component of our meal. Rice first, then vegetables then meats.. each separately cooked just on one side.. Each taking the entire flat top surface.. of only one side.. it took forever.. Im a save the rice till the meats get there but my ride was getting a little chilly by the time the meats arrived. I ordered the chicken and my wife ordered the steak and scallops with a side of shrimp. Hers was much better, the chicken is always the last thing that gets served with the exception of maybe well done steaks. My poor chicken was a tad dry from being over cooked.. but there was so much meat that was being cooked its no surprise the chicken was that way. Overall the service was fine a little rough in the beginning as our server couldnt keep up with the drinks of such a large group while taking care of other tables but it improved by the middle of the mall as they got into their groove. It was a birthday dinner and they did wonderful with assisting in setting up the cake and cutting it. Overall I would have to say that well give it another shot with a smaller group to see if that Smiths out the bumps they had.. large groups can be such a difference when it of the normal.

First impression was not the best when we pulled up to this restaurant. The place looked dated and so did most of the half dead landscaping around it. However we decided since there were quite a few vehicles there it had to be decent. The staff was very friendly especially the waiter. The food took a record long time for a sushi 🍣 buffet. Literally the longest I have ever waited for sushi. The food However redeemed the place as it was truly delicious. A few months we went and were sadly disappointed to see that the quality had noticeably fallen from previous visits. We re-visited it again a month later, after seeing there was a 1 hour + wait at a similar local sushi buffet location, and our faith was restored. They did get some orders wrong but overall it was a great value for delicious sushi items.

Stopped by yesterday on my way home, I was so excited they were open, dont get to Vacaville much. But when I do, I go here! Sat at the habatchi table, I was the only person at the table. He is making my food and whips out these fish. Im thinking, I didnt order fish. Oh no, it was his lunch. He starts using the cooking tools that he is making my lunch with, and ya, fish tasting food. It was disgusting. Had a bite and could barely swallow it. Didnt eat another bite. Asked for a manager, nobody came out, so I left my number. They gave me a Togo box that went into the trash. So unprofessional to make your lunch while preparing food for a customer who cant eat fish! I wanted a refund, guess they could care less. Never going back. I will stick to Benihana, when in the bay area or Kobes in my neck of the woods. They would have never pulled a stunt like that.

Had a great family dinner, it was nice to see that Hisui reopened. We had two steak dinners, cooked to perfection with delicious dipping sauces and we had a Nancy roll and a wonderful Tempura appetizer. All were cooked well and service was great. Today was my grandsons 18th birthday and he chose Hisui to celebrate. WRONG DAMN CHOICE. We sat at our table for 45 minutes before we were able to get the attention of our waitress just to order drinks. We decided to order dinner too because of how long we sat there. A group of 6 arrived 45 minutes after us and was immediately served. They ate before us. The waiters were attentive to them, replenished their drinks, brought them extra napkins and condiments. But no one came to see about us. They left 25 minutes before we did and they were even served ice cream. We never received ice cream and we were never offered any. One of the hostesses started cleaning table of the other party and still paid no attention to us. One table changed guests 3 times in the amount of time we were there and all of those tables were treated as valued customers. We were not. I spoke to the manager who took nearly 10 minutes to get to our table after I asked to speak to one and all he could do was offer excuse after excuse about how busy they were. I wouldve believed him had I not seen the staff tending to the other tables with regularity. He reduced our bill 20% and it was still nearly $200. My family usually tips 20%- 25% but because of the service we received from the wait staff, I didnt tip them at all. The chef was good and we tipped him cash. I left a note on the receipt so they would understand my disgust and disappointment. You ignored us so I ignored you. Thank you for ruining my grandsons 18th birthday dinner experience. He chose you guys and you let us down. Ill never go back. Go to Hinotas instead! Excellent food, excellent service!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and didnt see any all you can eat offer. The chef did mention something about it being new owners within the last 6 months..? He was speaking too fast and low so Im not quite sure. but he was nice, pretty fast with his hands and awesome at what he did.Tempura roll, literally just df shrimp, and sauce drizzled on top which reminded me of buffet sushi which sadly I have had better at. I wouldnt come here for sushi, a bit pricey but maybe just the experience of watching chefs cook in front of you. My first time and probably will only go once in a blue moon with first timers too. I also got the steak and shrimp, again awesome to watch it being cooked but the taste and quantity for the cost ($14?) not worth it. Great service though. Wish they can change up the flavors or something then it would all be great.

The dinner for 2 special is a bit costly at $50 but its a great sampler platter that could easily feed 3 or 4 people.Ate here with 2 other people for my birthday, and we all got to enjoy new foods and flavors we havent tried before. The food was good, but the service was so bad that Ill never go back. It took over 10 minutes for the host to even make it to the front of the restaurant, where about 15 people were waiting to be seated in an empty restaurant. Once seated, another 15 minutes before we could even order our drinks. When the food finally arrived, a roll was missing, but it took ANOTHER 10 or so minutes before our waiter emerged from hiding. Make no mistake, this is the absolute best sushi anywhere nearby and Ive eaten at lots of places. Staff are also friendly. The reason I give them 3 stars is because service is downright iffy and sometimes outright horrible. On busy days, expect to have the sushi bar entirely ignored while they ponder to steakhouse guests. orders. If they suddenly have a large group, they will ignore you, wait til sushi bar is cleared, tell you to get, and serve them even if you been waiting a long time. So, if you can deal with that on occasion, you may just taste some of the best, affordable sushi around. When you do get crummy service though, wow.. it will really ruin your day.

Went here for Dinner last night with my bf and we sat in regular seating area, right next to the sushi all-you-can-eat. First of all we were greeted rudely, and then our server didnt come to our table for 10 minutes. A sushi chef walked by our table and asked if we have been helped and once we said no he went to get our server. Our server came up to us seeming rushed (even though the only thing that was packed was the all-you-can-eat sushi bar) and asked if we were waiting on something...so we gave him our drink order and ordered 3 rolls. He came back with our order. The fish was pretty much room temperature, I found a small bone in mine, and one of our rolls was made so fast that it didnt have all the items on it that it was suppose to have. We didnt see our server for 30 minutes so my bf went to complain to the manager. Turns out the manager was the rude guy that greeted us, and he apologized and said its probably the new management. The only good thing was that he gave us a discounted check. Ive eaten here plenty of times, but usually at the sushi bar. I guess that why thats the only thing thats always busy. We felt like that we were being ignored and we were unimportant, and that they had to make sure all the attention was on the sushi bar. Sadly to say this was my favorite place for sushi but after last night, Im never coming here again. Not unless its to the sushi bar and right after they open.

First I just want to say the staff was very nice. We had the all you can eat sushi but it was very lacking. The circling boats were loaded with mostly rolls and the nigiri selection was very small. All the rolls made had the same sauce covering it which drowned out any taste of the fish. Although the selection was small you could always order anything on the menu. Finally the last reason I probably wont be going back is because the rice wasnt seasoned.

Top complaint with this place is that it smelled like urine when we walked in, most likely from the fish pond just inside the door.Their sushi is mediocre and catered to Americans. I really enjoy the fish, but it was more like a fish and seaweed roll. And for $13, about half the size of a normal sushi roll.The steak and chicken as well as the vegetables were good. However, the quantity of the meat seems to be below Commercial (probably more in the Utility or Canner Grades). There was some watered down generic hand sanitizer in the hallway between the men and womens restrooms). We were happy to see a hibachi place open during COVID. Unfortunately, our experience was lackluster throughout.We ordered sushi and hibachi for a family of 4 (plus an infant). The sushi didnt come with wasabi, ginger, or soy sauce. We had to ask for it, which only then it was provided. These accompaniments seem pretty standard from my experience of ordering sushi.The hibachi dinner was not even worth half of the price. I ordered the veggie delight which was about 90% onions. The added veggie sides for the other 3 plates were the same. In the description for hibachi, it states shrimp appetizer, which I did not receive. There should be an asterisk if this would not be included with the veggie order. The added fee for fried rice is a little absurd. Pretty standard inclusion for hibachi at other establishments. The fact that THEY DO NOT SERVE YUM YUM SAUCE is beyond me. The cook even admitted customers ask for it all the time. Why they still do not serve it is beyond me. The overall performance from the cook was very rushed with zero entertainment. The only words uttered from him were when he introduced himself and reviewed our orders. No tricks with the volcano onion, flipping the egg in the hat, or any tricks at all. He did flip around the spatula for a bit, but that seemed rushed and done with zero excitement.The sushi was ok. Nothing grand. If wanting a hibachi experience, or even just the food, DO NOT GO HERE. Sushi at Hisui 2 is highly recommended though.

I was a first time customer and will never be returning or recommending this place to friends or family!!First off this restaurant needs a major facelift. The AYCE sushi is nothing special and to be honest all the same, imitation crab, deep fried shrimp, avocado, and some sort of fish. They don’t serve any special rolls that WOW you which is disappointing. They make the rolls with a LOT of rice to fill you up. The only positive to their All You Can Eat sushi menu is they serve Sashimi.The staff was very friendly but our waitress didn’t speak English very well so we got things we didn’t actually order a few times.Then to top it off. I got food poisoning later in the night. Diarrhea and vomiting all throughout the night. I know it was from this restaurant as I don’t eat anything in the day to prep my stomach to be hungry for AYCE sushi and we went for dinner.You guys are better going to Sacramento and eating at Raku’s!!!

To be fair my husband and I did go in the middle of the day when most Japanese places are closed... however, there is only one entrance to the parking lot and its extremely easy to miss since it shares the driveway with a tire shop. Enter the parking lot naturally you can see the building up close... The building certainly looked old, could use a pressure wash and a paint job because it looked dirty as well. But this place had good reviews so we gave it a shot. We walked in and the decor was simple. There was a smell to the place as if it hadnt been deep cleaned in a long time. There was a fountain with fish and even a turtle in the waiting area which was nice! Although the water level was super low and it looked like it needed to be cleaned as well. We were briefly seated by a waiter who seemed like he couldnt care less and was handed menus by a waitress who seemed like she was doing something else. Once again even the menus looked like they could have used a good cleaning.... or replaced altogether since they were stained. But again I was optimistic. She explained that it was happy hour but all you can eat didnt start until 4. We looked over the menu and saw the prices! The average for a roll was 10-15 dollars! For one roll! We told them wed be back and went to the car. We decided to try Fuji Japanese buffet. It was a longer wait since they actually close down to eat and prep the restaurant for dinner rush! Great idea... waiting sucked since we were really hungry, but were glad we did! For a couple bucks more we went to a restaurant that was cleaner and EVERYTHING on the menu was included in all you can eat! We talked to this couple in line while waiting for the restaurant to open up and they said they used to go to Hisui until Fuji opened up and they never looked back. I havent eaten in Hisui.... and after that I probably wont!

This one is no exception; however, Hisui shows that they have stopped caring about providing good service and providing a professional atmosphere. We were seated in the bar area with cases of supplies spread on several tables. One employee or possible owner was talking so loud to the other employees that I felt that she forgot that customers were sitting in the same room. The outside of the building had been terribly neglected. I was nervous about what they were doing in the kitchen to our food. I will never eat there again.

When ordering our waitress asked if we would like steamed or fried rice, not knowing there was an upcharge we ordered fried rice. When we recieved the bill our total was $90. Baffled, my husband went to the host stand because he couldnt find the waitress. The host was also the manager. Our rolls were not half price and we got charged $6 extra for rice. When my husband tried to explain this to the manager, instead of helping or listening to the confused customer the manager finds the waitress to deal with it. Apparently, the sushi is only half off if you sit anywhere but hibachi even though its all the same sushi. Our waitress didnt ask if we were first time customers and she also didnt ask would you like fried rice instead of steamed for a $3 charge? Or just so you know, sushi is not half off at thr habichi table. Had she done her job correctly we wouldnt of been so upset. When my husband was speaking with her she was not sympathetic or helpful at all, she said that she couldnt do anything to change the price because the manager left. The manager that my husband initially spoke to at the host stand. What kind of manager leaves an unhappy customer and cares so little about their quality of service? My husband handed the check back to the waitress and told her to fix it. She took her sweet time and only took off $15, the price of one roll. Not the $6 for the rice upcharge or extra for our trouble. Apparently it costs more than a bag of rice to fry some rice in a bit of oil. Never have we been to a Habichi Japanese steak house that charges extra for frying the rice. The only reason Im giving one star is because our chef was very kind and sympathetic.As for the food, the salad dressing tasted like horseradish, the fried rice had no flavor, and my husbands steak was overcooked. The place is jam packed with tables so theres barely any room for the waitress to walk between the tables without touching you. The cook tops need replaced because they are bent and old burnt food gets stuck underneath and that is what the customer gets to look at while they eat. We had driven by this place on the freeway for years and we thought wed finally try it. I had always heard how wonderful Japanese steak is so my expectations were quite high (perhaps too high). It is said to include: soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, veggies, steamed rice & ice cream for $29.95 for two people. The miso soup was fine and the salad good sized but rather boring. We opted to upgrade to fried rice, which my husband thought was way too much when he found out with the bill how much extra we had to pay - $3.95 each. The fried rice was good, not the best Ive had, but it was fun to watch the chef put it together and Im not a big fan of plain steamed white rice.I first tried one of the shrimps plain (without the serving sauce) and it did not smell as fresh as I would have liked, but with the serving sauce the slight fishy smell was covered and they tasted okay.I ordered my steak medium rare and received it cooked to what I would say was medium instead. It wasnt bad, pretty tender despite only a couple pieces having any pink left in them. I found myself wishing for some pepper to put on it though. With my high expectations I was rather underwhelmed by it overall.The veggies were okay, nothing special but edible - mushrooms, onions, carrots, zucchini, and bean sprouts. My husband and I both found ourselves wondering where is the shrimp appetizer mentioned in the special? We asked at the end of the meal and were told that two of the shrimps that we got with our main course were considered to be the appetizer. What??? Normally appetizers come before the dinner and arent just one section identical with the rest of the main course. A lady across the table from us had ordered the chicken and steak; I hadnt noticed whether she got two pieces of shrimp included with her main course for her appetizer and was too shy to ask her. We got more than enough food to eat what with the good sized salad and the bowl of fried rice filling us up, but we thought it was rather bizarre (not to mention disingenuous) to label two of the shrimps included in the main course as an appetizer.They were out of the green tea ice cream which I would have preferred; so, I got the chocolate which was okay - a bit heavy. My husband got strawberry ice cream which was really good and fresh tasting.We both just drank water with lemon slices in it and the refill service was superb. They had Japanese music playing in the background, which I appreciated since when Im eating an ethnic-style food, I want that ambiance. I did have difficulty understanding the hostess, wait staff, chef clearly as all seemed to have very strong accents or mumbled (or perhaps there was a little too much noise in the Teppan Room, especially to understand a low voice).While Im glad we finally got around to trying the place, I doubt we will return any time in the near future. We wanted the buffet and we were sat at the boat bar with no other customers, which was fine. The problem is that they had the sashi and other rolls already made sitting all day on the boats. This place is great they have a sushi bar with boats that float around the table, or you can have food cooked in front of you at a table top, if neither of those options are good for you there is also just normal dining tables.Makes taking the family out affordable and always entertaining, would highly recommend this place to anyone going for lunch or dinner.

We made an appointment for 7:30 for my 11 year old’s birthday. We arrived on time, and were seated. The server came over and took drink orders. My husband and I ordered diet coke. She brought the drinks. One sip and we knew it wasnt diet coke, it was root beer. The server looked confused and went and got us new ones. Nope- still root beer. She clearly hadn’t tried it herself before. So she took those back and we never got a diet coke. Only water. We were waiting to order, and the server came and asked if adding 2 more would be ok. We thought it was odd, as we know at these places you sit w/ other ppl too. We finally all ordered. I then told the server I wanted a bloody mary with a salt rim and extra olives. She didn’t understand me. I said it 3x. She nodded and walked off. She brought the newest guests their drink, and told me she would be back w/ my “apple martini” and walked off. I was so confused how she got apple martini out of what I ordered. I went up to the bar to tell them what I wanted. There was a person who spoke more fluent English, advised me they dont have bloody mary ingredients. Our waitress struggled to understand us. When we ordered our food, I clearly said shrimp jr. hibachi, she heard chicken. We waited 40 minutes for a chef to arrive!!!!! The chef, he spun his knives around very fast and proficient like all of these type of restaurants. We have been to many. We were excited to see more “show”, because thats what we pay for.Then he heat the grill with a big flame. As he puts food on the grill, I expected him to talk and do cool tricks and jokes, like the egg roll and such. Nope. Just cracked the eggs, put the rice on. Then he did attempt the onion volcano. It failed miserably. After that 1 and only thing, it was just quiet watching him cook. No throwing shrimp in his hat, the crawling lobster tail, etc. very very boring!!!!The food quality/taste was just okay. But the meats were cooked with a TON of sauces. Other places use just a nice garlic butter.Just not worth the price for just okay food. The show was non existent, and a language barrier made it even worse.

Food poisoning x 3 for my friends and I. I got violently ill 1.5 days later while on vacation in vegas and spent the whole time in bed followed by a day in the ER after i returned home 3 days later. If you want sushi at 930 at night and this is the only place open stop off at Chevron and get some gas station sushi and save yourself the pain and agony of improper food handling

I ordered the Ramen and I believe I was eating instant ramen. two pieces of pork and 3 pieces of imitation crab and 4 pieces of mushroom over instant noodles. The tempura is decent. tables were wobbly. I wont complain if the Ramen was $5 but it was $13! I did not try their sushi but for t he price Ill go to Fuji down the street.

Went to Hisui with my family to celebrate but ended up leaving after waiting for 12 minutes. Hostess saw us but did not even bother to say anything. She just looked at me and proceeded to attend to someone else. She did not even say please wait or sorry for the delay. There was plenty of room and not too many customers at 1:30 PM so I dont get it. Makes me wonder if this is how they operate everyday.

Used to go here not any more. Wanted to make a reservation and was told for my sons birthday they only do adult birthdays now because you have to show an ID. (Even though the website doesnt reflect that) I offered to bring his school ID and birth cert, the guy said he had to call his boss and call me back. Now when he called back he said they dont do the kids any more. So they lost not only tonights business ( 5 adult meals and 2 kids meals) but all future business. Its a shame that someone has no reflection of math. They tried to save themselves a few bucks by trying not to give us the birthday deal but ended up loosing hundreds. Oh well.

I don’t even know where to start I wish I could give this place a ZERO star first off my daughter has a gluten allergy and she said no unagi sauce and no tempura flakes because those both have gluten once they came out my daughters food had both gnocchi and tempura we told them we said no unagi and tempura so they got a little annoyed but still took it back once it came back it had no unagi but still had tempura flakes we repeated the fact that she has a gluten allergy they got very mad about the fact that she has an allergy which she can’t control but they still took it back.my granddaughters noticed that the turtles had no rocks or any thing to climb on so they told me about it I was very concerned my granddaughter looked up what a turtle needs in its tank it says that you need a heating lamp a rock 40 gallons of water and a filter and they had none of those I used so close to just taking them when we were about to leave I told them about how the turtles had no filter no heating lamp and a rock The guy simply ignored me and said oh yeah we feed them every five weeks which turtles need to be fed 4 to 5 times a week it is animal abuse i’ve never been to a restaurant that is this bad also the service was terrible when the lady went to go fill up my granddaughter‘s water cup my other granddaughter asked if she could have hers filled up and she ignored her and walked away even though she made eye contact with her right before she walked away so she obviously knew that she was there I will not be r returning to this place thank you

Im not sure if I hit them on a bad night or if I chose something they arent great at, but I tried to order the Mahi Mahi entree and they were out so I defaulted to the Steak with Japanese sauce and it was completely average with the vegetables having almost no flavor. My wife had the vegetable and shrimp tempura which were overcooked with too much oil and also had low flavor. I will try other Japanese restaurants in Vacaville before coming back here-color me unimpressed.
