The staff was very good, the service was also very good great location when going to universal studios. The only downside to this is that the rooms are clean every two days. I did not see this disclosed anywhere. it was disappointing that after beating gone all day to universal studios all day to come back to unmade room beds not made, all wet towels on the floor and no clean ones. The next day romma was picked up, towels however the bathroom floor was not vacuum nor mop hair all over I can tell it was just picked up but not clean. I recommend it based on the convenience location. Just make your request known to them if you want your room clean DAILY.😄
The staff is very friendly and professional.The valet parking is prompt.The continental breakfast, is good for what it is, the variety of bagels is nice. For all these reasons the hotel deserves a 5. The reason Im giving 3 (and not 4 or 2!) Is the cleanliness.I rented two rooms. One by the pool and that seemed ok, but I didnt sleep in that one. The room I stayed at, on the second floor, was not reeaaally bad, but was poorly vacuumed. The space between the mattress and the box was filled with crumbs, dust, hairs and stained. Also the carpet between the two beds was full of the same. I let this know at reception and they promptly sent someone to the room. But to no avail, as this was not fixed. Also the furniture shows its age with dents, here and there, but that could be overlooked, if not for stains from coffee or...I dont know what. Bathroom is the same condition. In summary, dont expect it to be like in the pictures from its site, where the filters did a pretty good job.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. This is our new favorite place to stay when we come into town. The hotel has a bar and restaurant that will cater to room service or in room dining (for a fee) . Upbeat atmosphere with art deco meshed with some old Hollywood decor. 💕 The Valet and staff greet you by name and always offer a bottle of water, it makes you feel special🥰. I have updated my review with new photos which are of our suite 240. As always a very pleasant visit! Thank you Hotel Amarano! We will return ❤️
My recent four night stay was fine. Spacious and clean room, with everything neat, well organized and in proper working order. Staff very friendly and attentive. Pool and fitness center definitely welcome amenities. Spacious lounge a nice touch as well. Location is very convenient. I will definitely want to stay here again when my travels call for me to be in this area.
Used to stay here all the time. Service has gone downhill since I was last here. Room was not cleaned even though I was out all afternoon, when it could have been cleaned. Ordered room service - food came but no dishes to eat it on (came in a basket). Had a kitchenette but no dishes, glasses or cutlery there either. Thermostat was locked in place and try as I might, I could not change the thermostat. Hence, the room was too cold all of the time. No pen and note pad, which I needed and has assumed would be in the room. No bathrobe which I had also assumed would be in the room. There was a travel-size hairdryer which was all but useless. Fortunately, I had my own.Had a one bedroom suite booked but requested a different location so was moved. In the move, the room was downgraded (which was fine) but the price was not adjusted to the inferior room. I was sick when I checked out so did not ask the questions or check the bill properly but I am sure I was overcharged. My final bill was more than the quote for the one bedroom suite. So I wont be back and I wont recommend the hotel any more.
Great 4 star hotel. Valet parking. Nice rooms and pool is always empty which is a plus. Everytime I stay here I walk to nearby restaurants and stores. I have stayed in the junior suite and king room both very similar looking just size difference. Staff is friendly. Breakfast that is included is very small and limited

Hands down, this beautiful 4 star boutique hotel is, by far, the best hotel in the Valley and the surrounding LA area, and surprisingly reasonable for what you get. This hotel checks all the boxes - wonderful staff, lovely amenities, cool bar/restaurant, nice safe area, great location just down the street from the freeway, walkable to Toluca Lake and grocery store/restaurants, and just so hip and cool, yet not even a little bit snobby. It is a very special place. The employees are beyond compare and are so lovely, from the valet to the front desk staff. Elegant, swanky, cool large rooms, very clean, full power AC, in-room safe, magnifying mirror, high quality shampoo, soaps, and lotions, large TV, awesome in-room Lavazza espresso machine, refrigerator (some rooms with microwave), complimentary continental breakfast bar, serene patio eating area and restaurant/bar, beautiful pool/ jacuzzi/lounging area, and gym with complimentary bottles of water and apples. The following are some helpful notes to be sure your stay is as wonderful as mine: there is no clock, pen/paper, shower cap, robe, or slippers in the room, so just be prepared to bring any of that with you if it’s important. Also, there is a $40 daily amenity fee but that’s par for the course, people; it’s pretty rare to find a hotel without an amenity fee these days, especially in L.A. There is no self-parking but, other than tipping the guys, valet parking is covered in the amenity fee (otherwise, there is free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, which felt very safe). If you are an out-of-towner visiting this area, here on business at the nearby studios, looking for a relaxing staycation, or needing a long-term stay (like me), this is absolutely the place to stay, no question.
I have complained repeatedly, receiving inadequate response. The place stank due to work on the drains”! The loo blocked itself twice! The service was charming but negligent. No toiletries. No plate, no cutlery, constant. Room cleaned twice for entire stay. Cleaning, when done was excellent. The place is clean. Lack of coffee choice for boutique standard. Lots to improve on. Overpriced. Had to ask for a bath robe!
I absolutely love this boutique hotel in Burbank. You drive up to valet only parking and are quickly greeted with a smile and the best of service. Your bags are brought to your room and all the staff are top notch. Rooms are unique and well appointed with everything you need. The coffee in the room is AMAZING and this place has really been my home away from home every time I travel for appointments in Burbank/ LA area (only 30 minutes from Sunset Blvd)
Everything about this 1930s glam hotel was fabulous! I got an unexpected upgrade to a junior suite, which was akin to a spacious one-bedroom apartment. Very friendly staff, continental breakfast included, and reasonably priced. A new fan!
For someone that travels a lot, I would avoid staying in this hotel. Pls if you can, avoid it at ALL costs.I had booked staying at this hotel for 3 nights(at over $300/night in August 2023 and after my first night, I decided to check out the following day as it did not meet the standard of a basic hotel, let alone advertise services they do not offer. Couldnt provide basic necessities like towels. I informed management that I will be checking out before I did via email. Till date I am yet to receive my refunds. Its sad to say the least.Anyways just a warning, pls avoid this hotel. There are so many way better hotels in burbank
We loved our stay at this little hotel! I feel like it was such a great find! It is very much a Great Gatsby/luxe old Hollywood theme. Our room and bathroom was super clean and completely remodeled, and we had a big fenced-in patio for our pup to run around outside. The staff was very friendly and extremely attentive when we needed anything. The pool was super relaxing, and food/drinks from the restaurant were really good! I have no complaints and would stay again here in a heartbeat. Thank you!

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past three years, and booked the exact same way. So, once again I booked through Expedia. I paid IN FULL over $600 and I called yesterday to explain that I missed my flight. When I tried to check in today, I was met with an unapologetic, incredibly rude boy, letting me know I had missed the check in time and was marked as a “no show”. All he did is repeat is that I could book all over again and laughed at my distress. I explained that I had no idea that after literally paying for a room, I could not enter it after
The room door lock latch did not lock. Waited nearly 40 min for maintenance (and three phone calls to the front desk inquiring on the status) to arrive and fix it. The toilet did not flush properly unless the lever was held down. The bathroom door did not lock. The shower floor was uncomfortable to stand on.
If you want to be publicly ridiculed and humiliated by their staff by all mean come to this place where the locals joke that the only good thing on their menus is fries.And I have stayed in their rooms and not worth the price.#DISGUSTING

Overall the experience was a meh. We booked the hotel because of the four-star and the proximity to universal studio, but the room and service don’t deserve a four star and 50 resort fees.Pros:1.close to universal studio, ~10min drive to the city walk2. A plaza next to you - it has a supermarket and Starbucks3. Bed is comfyCons:1. Bugs!!! There are bed bugs / flies in the room. We got bitten so badly. I got one the first night and it has been three days, still swollen and itchy. My boyfriend got more. All happened in 10 minutes, which is quite crazy2. Little service - room cleaning is not everyday. No shuttle to universal. Even when they do the cleaning, it’s very minimal. I noticed the lid of the toothpaste is still in the sink, the cups we used are in the same place etc. think they only took trash out and change beddings.3. Services are slow!!! We asked for toothpaste and toothbrushes the first night and asked if they could be sent to the room. We called the room service line several times and no response. We had to call the front desk and the receptionist was nice. He said “no problem. Will send it up shortly” and yet we waited 1hour+, no one ever came. We went downstairs and asked again and picked them up.We wouldn’t leave this comment if it’s just one bad thing. We understand hotel management is not easy. However when things pile up, we start questioning the hotel quality and if it’s worth the price we paid. A four-star and 50 resort fee per day should do better.
Stayed here for a recent trip to Universal Studios, the hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. The front desk was so helpful and welcoming. Valet was really good and fast. The pool was wonderful and it’s heated! We ordered room service on the first night and the food was really good. My son and I had breakfast dishes for dinner and my daughter had a gourmet spicy chicken sandwich. I can’t wait to come back and stay here again. The location is very close to Universal Studios which worked out perfectly for us. Not only that but there are lots of stores and restaurants around the hotel. If you’re hungry you won’t have trouble finding something to eat nearby.

Positive: The staff were great. The room was great. The hotel is beautiful. Negative: They charged my card when I checked in. Then they told me they released the charge before I checked out and tried to charge me for the room again upon checking out. Also, the shower floor couldve been cleaner, some hair strands were present.

I booked this hotel through the Universal Studios website as part of a package. We were celebrating our anniversary with our first post-pandemic trip and I booked this trip as a surprise for my significant other. I called the hotel to confirm that the reservation was made and to request that a bottle of champagne be in the room when we arrived. I was told that my request would be forwarded to guest services. A couple days later I received an email asking about the request for champagne and what my price range was. I told them to keep it under $200 and to charge the price to the room.Fast forward to the day of our trip, we arrived a couple hours before check in (1pm) and were told that our room was not ready yet, but they let us leave our luggage and valet the car. The front desk staff and valet were lovely. They made sure to offer us complimentary waters on arrival which was much appreciated with the extremely hot weather outside.We didnt come back to check in until after 6pm and I was surprised with how unclean the room was. There was hair all over the shower wall and bed. The toilet was dirty and there was some kind of residue in the sink. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of cleanliness, especially since we were told we couldnt check in early because the room wasnt ready and even with an additional 3 hours after check in it still wasnt ready. To top it off, there was no champagne as requested.It had been a long day and we still had dinner reservations to make so we didnt waste time complaining to the staff, we just shrugged it off.The rest of the stay was pretty uneventful. We did get drinks from the bar and the bartender was fantastic. Super nice and great drink recommendations.On the day we left I received an email from their customer service team (the same one that emailed about my price range for the champagne) asking me to call them. I responded to them via email letting them know it wouldnt be necessary, we had already checked out. Too little, too late.Overall I would recommend this as a decent place to stay, but I wasnt wowed. Its the little things that make a hotel amazing and unfortunately we just didnt get those here.
We stayed here after we visited universal studios and a Dodger game! From start to finish it was an awesome location, close to city walk and the freeway, close to stores and breakfast and lunch and dinner options! It’s was so quiet. We had our two kids who enjoyed the pool mornings and night, clean and towels out everyday, as well as friends with their kids. It was clean, smelled good throughout and everyone was helpful and happy! Very happy with the room, it was a studio one bedroom, sofa bed for kids, updated flatscreen tv’s cable and wifi, with plenty of room, living room, espresso maker, walk in closet and the curtains were blackout and the bed was comfy, huge bathroom with separated shower bath. Would definitely stay here again!! Also had valet parking included in the fee and we used it and the staff was on it and very helpful! Visit Bea Bea’s for breakfast so good (across the street)!
Very beautiful decor and great service from arrival to departure. My only complaint is that prior to inquiring, it was listed on the website and several other sources that they provide a shuttle from Bob Hope Airport for transport to and from the hotel. This is false and this service is no longer available. Well I brought my baby, with no car seat and was left to figure something out after landing. I ended up having to purchase a rental car.Other than that, it was a great stay! I would definitely come back. I even felt comfortable to sleep in the linens because everything was so clean and fresh. Complimentary breakfast included delicious bagels and they also have a full menu if you want other options.Conveniently located across the street from Vons, Starbucks and Panda express. About 3 minutes from Smart N Final where I purchased dry ice for travel.
This was the latest of several stay Ive had at the Amarano in the past few years. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I always have, as the hotel is comfortable, quiet, and centrally located for the events and appointments that I come into town to participate in.
I stay here every time I am in Burbank... It is clean, has great rooms, and the service is the best of the best.

I actually went into 3 different rooms because I was there for a wedding and each room was immaculate.The staff was very nice and knowledgeable.For the stick drivers out there, the valets do know how to drive stick.The restaurant and bar is really really good and they offered to stay open late for our wedding party which was so kind.Overall, this is a great hotel that I highly recommend.
Rooms are beautifully appointed! Staff are helpful. Main reasons for the low review are that the bathroom was quite dirty and run down, shower faucet was broken, tile has mildew stains, needs a deep clean for sure! Other reason is charged $50 for early check-in when the room was already ready...thats a bit extreme for an expensive hotel for something that requires no extra effort.
Elegant four floor hotel designed with classic cinema in mind. It adds to the overall feeling of being so close to Tinseltown and all the film studios nearby. The Warner Bros lot is within walking distance for example.The rooms are a nice size and continue with the cinema themed decor. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave. A Lavazza espresso maker. Plenty of outlets to charge all your things. Bathrooms are neatly appointed and have large dual head showers. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. There is valet parking and free bicycle rentals if you feel like exploring. There is a quaint size pool. The lobby also has a bar and restaurant. Really more of a lounge than restaurant. Plenty of other restaurants within walking distance and there is a Starbucks and Vons grocery across the street. A fabulous choice to stay while visiting Burbank.

Although I love, love this hotel and have stayed here before. The front desk staff are very helpful. The young gentleman that brought room service was delightful and very helpful. But, the walls are thin and depending on the room it can be noisy.
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Id have rated it a 5 but it was super unclear who I needed to chase down in order to request breakfast items outside of the continental breakfast set up at the bar. There was no instruction on the tables, and one morning there was no staff around to ask. On another morning, staff was in and out of the dining area so fast you couldnt tackle them to ask, How can I order some eggs?
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The boutique style combined with one of the most amazing staff I’ve come across made the stay absolutely amazing! Location is superb to top it off, easy and quick travel to surrounding hot spots and tourist attractions, but tucked away enough and quiet if you just want to relax. Service was impeccable, drinks and food were fantastic. If you want a relaxing ambiance it is here. The pool/hot tub, to the lobby and restaurant, rooms etc this is the place to go. Peter and Laurie were a pleasure to deal with even before we checked in all the way through our stay, James and Patrick at the restaurant/bar were friendly and a breathe of beautiful fresh cali air! Ali and the front desk folks were also amazing! I don’t Have one thing negative to say here, 3 night stay was excellent! Great job I’ll definitely return!

The staff of this hotel are very friendly and professional. Always willing to help. The ambience is perfect. We love sitting in the bar even when it is not service hours. Our room is always sparkling clean. Location is great for anyone visiting the valley. I have stayed here at least a dozen times.
Service at this hotel makes the price worth it. Valet parking isnt optional, but reasonable compared to parking fees at other hotels. I was always greeted by name, and offered a cold bottle of water when heading out somewhere. I wasnt able to try the restaurant or bar, but the ambiance when I passed by always seemed upbeat and positive. Bicycles are part of the amenities if you feel like taking a ride around Burbank. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was no exception. Separate tub and shower with a large sink. Also, the pool area is a great place to relax. All in all, we plan to stay here again when we are in the area.
Manager Chris has HORRIBLE attitude, he was telling me a liar and asking us to stay awake and keep calling unless the issue is resolved, instead of moving me, my wife and 2 kids to another room.Booked the hotel for 3 nights, the 1st night stay in month of December the room was 77 degree, so tried to switch on the AC, instead the temperature kept going warmer, called the front desk, they said they will send someone, the technician came and said he will check the chiller on roof and if the issue is not resolved he will move the room at 11:30pm.We went to sleep as too tired, woke up at 6 am all in sweat and the room was 79 degree, the issue was not fixed, when I called Chris he was rude and also defending the issue rather than apologizing and moving us out, telling me a liar.The room, ambience and hotel is awesome but just because of 1 person attitude the whole experience become worse, we came to LA with family and got this high end hotel stay to relax and enjoy a good hospitality, instead after talking to Chris, it felt like staying in a motel with no care attitude.
Went there for three night for family holidays.Hotel is well located, rooms are spacious and we slept well (which is most important)Hotel is keeping the maintenance good on the public area, yet ours could have had some fixing on the bathroom yet it was functional.Staff at the bar, restaurant was very friendly. When making the booking over the phone, I was assured a 4th floor, quiet room. Yet, when we arrived, we were given a 3rd floor room and told it would be incredibly quiet. We heard the people above us whenever they walked across the room.When our car was pulled up to leave, there was Latin music playing, which made me wonder if whoever drove the car last night changed the station and went for a spin before parking it in the garage?There were no outlets near or behind the bed tables to plug in our phones for the evening. We had to do that from somewhere across the room.
What a fabulous place. Fantastic front desk. Amazing accommodations. Good price it’s clean and luxurious. I put my friends up here to stay when they come to visit. I know that all their needs will be taken care of and there’s a fabulous bar. You can also go across the street if you need a market, Starbucks, and three restaurants in very close proximity to the hotel. I think it’s my number one place to stay.
Beautiful hotel with clean rooms. The hotel offered valet included in the resort fee. Free water also included. The restaurant on site was pretty good and served room service. We had a pool room view with terrace which was beautiful. The pool didn’t look overly clean by the end of the day, but I saw them cleaning it each morning. I would definitely return to this beautiful hotel.
I was so overcome by the atmosphere set by the Hotel Amarano. I am an actor/entertainer. I started my career in Hollywood. I am now 84 and have had a good go. Staying at the Amarano was icing on the cake of a wonderful association with the film industry. The staff was wonderful. I loved every moment of my stay and wished it had been longer. I look forward to a return visit ---- soon!
Good service the people at the front desk are always so kind and attentive. They remembered me when I did a return visit which made the experience better. The rooms are clean and the maid service is very friendly. The valet is attentive and kind. Always making sure you have water if you need it as well. They even left a little treat in my room for me when I had a return visit.
The service here is excellent. James, the bartender, is the best for conversation. The rooms are lovely. The food is outstanding. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. The pricing is incredible reasonable. Im struggling to find anything actually wrong with the hotel, with the exception of the music selection that simply doesnt match the vibe of the establishment. Overall, one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in and one I will be returning to in all of my future travels to Burbank.
Stayed a few night visiting family. Loved the vibe & ambiance. The Art was in amazing throughout the entire hotel. Sheeps, horse old silver screen Hollywood.Our room was on the top floor with a balcony with pool and jacuzzi views. Plaza across the street w restaurants, Vons, Starbucks and more.Their bar is awesome and food tastes great!Great place and will be back again!
Not a great experience. I asked about water when I arrived, the person at the desk said yes, we have complimentary water for all our guests and then walked away. Fridge didnt work, you have to figure out the heat/air system, TV apps didnt work, theres only 1 charging port in an odd location in the room, not one snack available in the entire place.Guys, Im not sure how you got your 4 star rating but you gotta be honest with your guests. Housekeeping every other day? Cmon man.
The entire staff is pleasant and eager to please the customer. Website makes for easy reservations and to check availability. The rooms are well appointed, up to date and very comfortable. Im a big fan of the coffee system in the room which makes a excellent day starter! The location is so convenient to so may places. I will return when I need to be in Burbank for sure.

Our stay at the Amarano was fabulous. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely pool and had a lot of fun drinking and hanging out in the lounge with the long-term guests, locals, and especially the staff! Speaking of the staff, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. We couldnt have had a nicer time, our only regret is we were only able to stay for one night.
Love the Hollywood vintage style. The lobby and bar area are beautiful and the movie scenes throughout the hotel are nice. Pool area is ok and spa is warm and inviting. Free breakfast is minimal and slightly misleading as all the al a carte options are expensive

Staff was great! Had room with 1 King bed so plenty of floor space to do floor stretches to start or end the day, which is lacking in other hotels. Nice bright lighting, also not common in other hotels. Like that light came on in clothes closet when you open the closet door & turns off when you close it. Decor was beautiful. Huge shower/ no tub. Liked having option of shears on window along with black out type drapes. Continental breakfast was great.( After all this is during the pandemic).Best thing for me was location. Can walk to Vons or Whole Foods & my son has apt 2 blocks away. Thanks again to all the staff.
Adorable boutique hotel in a good location and clean! Food is good as well. HOWEVER.. the service here is trash.Food and drink in the restaurant take FAR too long. One morning we were ordering breakfast and the waitress just completely disappeared for at least 10mins and no one was in the restaurant to help. She ended up being friendly and helpful, just seemed to be really understaffed and she was taking care of everything.Then on NYE we were grabbing some drinks and food before leaving for the evening and a whole tray of drinks was spilled on our friend (good thing he was wearing a water resistant wind breaker!) The waiter apologized and then proceeded to say “I wasn’t even supposed to work tonight.” Like okay? That’s not our problem and doesn’t excuse what just happened. He then proceeded to go in the back and we heard screaming and crashing of things as if things were thrown to the ground. The whole restaurant heard it. Eventually the guy came back out maybe 15-30mins later, apologized again and then said “Yeah they’re just overworking me so much.” Like again… not our problem!? Excuse after excuse and the mess on the floor and on the chair was never cleaned up. The following morning the stain on the chair is still there. Anyway, he had told us our drinks would be comped and when we got the bill nothing on the bill had changed. When we brought it up he said “oh I’m so sorry I forgot to take them off!” To which we replied “okay well can you still take them off?” He says “oh I need a managers code for that” so our response was (you guessed it) “ok… can a manager take it off then?” He goes “no… I actually just quit.” And then we ask “so you can’t help us?” He goes “ no :)” We ended up going to the bartender and he took care of all the drinks and we tipped him nicely. It’s a good thing we aren’t Karen’s because I think anyone else would have started a riot! It became an inside joke for the rest of the trip, because what in the world!? Dinner and a show with audience paticipation!? What a treat! 😆 You can’t make this stuff up lol.On another note..Every time we asked the front desk for something, they didn’t follow through. For example, the AC in our room did not work (never experienced this at any hotel before and I travel a lot) so I called the front desk to get someone to fix it asap. It was a whopping 76 dregrees in our room and it was 50 degrees outside! The front desk had the audacity to ask if we knew how to work the thermostat lol. I was told I would get a call back and never heard anything.Overall, the hotel itself is fine. But I probably wouldn’t recommend staying here because it is a little pricey and the lack of customer service isn’t worth it. Hope they can get things turned around!
The hotel Amarano is a lively hotel in Burbank, close to shopping and restaurants. While the lobby is lively, the rooms are quiet and peaceful. We had to request a coffeemaker for the room, and the beds only had one blanket on them, which made them a little chilly at night - we requested additional blankets. The plug in the bathtub did not work, so we requested that it be fixed. It was quickly fixed after the second request. There is a $25 daily amenities fee that includes as much bottled water as a guest requests, a VERY limited continental breakfast, use of their pool and jacuzzi, and parking (whether you have come with a car or not). This is waived if you stay 3 or more nights. Parking at the hotel is valet only, but if you call ahead, they usually have your car waiting for you when you come down to go someplace. Except for the lack of blankets, the beds were comfortable. It would have been nice to have more than just two pillows/bed, however. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
Stayed here for a recent trip to Universal Studios, the hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean.
My girlfriend and I came to watch a taping of Ellen and we had the best stay! We enjoyed dinner at the hotel bar as James was attentive and personable the whole time. We were able to walk to the studio before and after the taping and it was perfect. The breakfast place across the street was perfect for the next morning before we heading out as well. All staff was friendly and the room was clean. We will be back!
Ive been in the Luxury business at retail for over 30 years and have never experienced the level of care and service that I received at this Hotel. From the managers, staff at front desk, valets,room service, was beyond and above expectations! Location, service, care for their clients was outstanding! Peter, Dexter, they were incredible. I recommend this Hotel to everyone who wants to be treated like royalty!! The Best in Burbank!!! Thanks again one and all, cant wait to stay again. Charles G.
My stay at the Hotel Amarano was lovely. The staff were so kind and helpful. They customer service was top notch. I loved using the valet. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and I love the way the hotel rooms and lobby were decorated. My room was so nice. I loved the large closet for my clothes. I like that there was a robe in the closet for my husband and I. I was able to relax and watch TV in the living room while he watched Football in the bedroom. My room had a fridge and microwave which came in handy. My favorite thing about the hotel were the vintage bikes you can rent for free. I borrowed one daily to ride to local coffee shops and around the beautiful neighborhoods nearby. I had a great stay. I would definitely recommend Hotel Amarano to my friends and family.
2nd visit. We love this little hotel. It is very close to Universal Studios. It is in a safe walkable area near Burbank airport. If you are looking for a large chain hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a quaint little place with a pool and parking included, you found it. Staff is super friendly. Continental breakfast was included as well
Great location and service! Our room was very clean and modern. Bar is great. Smallish pool area but very well kept. Great value and free valet service (tips are appropriate).
The Amarano Burbank hotel was so much more than when we stayed here several years ago. It has been updated and upgraded very nicely. We were pleasantly surprised. It reminds us of a W hotel - so smart and meticulously decorated. Our room was nicely appointed, very clean and the beds very comfortable. The bar was very fun to visit in the evening and the bartenders very nice and accommodating. Also, the front desk was welcoming and kind also. We will be staying here again in the future when we visit our grandchildren.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful folks, even to the valets who remembered my name. Car service very swift, and the bottled water was a nice perk. Hotel was quiet when it was time to wind down at night. Solid Wi-Fi, clean linens, nice decor, and comfortable beds. Adequate plug ins for devices. Fast elevator service.Cons: I was very disappointed in the condition of my room. One of the soap dispensers was broken off the wall and left in the shower caddy. I found it upon check in. I reported it twice; it wasnt repaired. Further, the bottle was empty and never refilled when the room was serviced so we showered with shampoo the entire stay. I reported a broken curtain pull, slow running sink and tub; tub and shower drain tended to. Sheers on the window are frayed and black out blinds dirty. Dirty hand prints on the bathroom door. Dirty sliding door runners. Housekeeping poor for a hotel at this price point, or perhaps I got a bad room.BIG pet peeve: NO safety grab bars on the shower walls. If youre going to have a tub shower, please consider adding a grab bar. The tub side is high and there is NO anti-slip material on the tub floor. Many hotels are opting for walk-in showers. I am beginning to look for that as I travel. Very unsafe in current state.The cons outweigh the pros. I would not return. I had far higher expectations given the clientele at this property and the 4-diamond rating. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Amarano - our third visit to this property. The staff is always very welcoming and the in-house bar and kitchen serve great food and drinks. The staff at FYC Kitchen were outstanding providing great recommendations and service. Will be back the next time we are in the area!
The hotel felt welcoming and appealing up until I arrived at the reception area. Both at check-in and check-out, the personnel in the front desk area behaved indifferently and distant. As a local resident, I wanted to support my community by staying in the hotel. I was expecting a warmth and a welcoming environment, which sadly was not there, except from the gentlemen who took care of my car.Cozy, comfortable, and clean room!
I checked in late on November 5th, 2021, before my daughters wedding who lives in Burbank.It was a Deluxe King Room. At first, the room looked amazing. But, after I settled in, I heard a humming, loud, noise. It was coming from the bathroom. A maintenance person came up and said this room is in theold wing and the ventilation/fan system is outside in the hallway and there was nothing they could do about it . Needless to say, I had a sleepless night and checked out the next morning.
Nice luxury rooms at an affordable price.Rooms are new, clean & sophisticated.Great team of staff…They mind their own business, they don’t bother you & they are always there when you need them.Quick to deliver on any given request(more towels, pillows, room service, etc.).Prime centralized location in regards to major surrounding cities Located within a quiet, peaceful & very well kept neighborhood.Within walking distance of Bank of America, Vons grocery, Bea Bea’s breakfast, Starbucks and a couple other great selections if you want to grab something to eat. The only downside to this place is there is no self-parking; however, there is always parking found on the side of the building. Aside from all the great things I’ve already mentioned, the absolute best thing about this place is that it is pet friendly! Thank you hotel Amarano for the great hospitality and experience!
Good hotel next to done of the studio lots. Nice little bar and restaurant but doesnt open till 5pm. Clean and great staff.
Hotel Admin - There was an additional amount added to the overall price ($10 increase for the amenity fee) even though the hotel confirmation email sent the day prior said the price was $25 for the amenity fee. Staff honored the amount on the original email the day of check-in. However, a random charge of $10 was charged to the credit card on file. Additionally, upon check-out, the amenity fee showed as $35 vs the honored $25 amount. This was very frustrating that the card was charged randomly and the $35 still appeared at the time of check-out.Cleanliness - The hotel appeared very clean and staff/hotel guests were following safety measures (wearing masks) when in the public areas. The room was pretty clean; however, there was mold in the grout lines in the bathroom and there were several cut outs in the ceiling within the bathroom. The room was overall pretty clean but the mold on the walls made it worrisome about cleaning tactics.Comfort – The amenity fees covered access to a gym, pool and valet parking. It was awesome having valet parking and spots to unload/load the car without having to worry about parking on the local street. (The parking garage is located under the hotel which made it feel safe.) The bed was comfortable but the blanket was very thin. There were two king pillows, a sheet and a thin blanket on the bed. This was frustrating as the room was warmish but there were no additional blankets to bundle up with. The air flow was adequate but not very powerful. The closet space in the room was very convenience with a large suitcase and hangars to hang clothes, coats, etc. The room offered a mini fridge and microwave which was nice to store snack/heat up food during the stay.Location - The hotel is located next to a local street and a shopping center was across the street; the freeway was less than a block away. It was convenient to walk to the shopping center to grab coffee at Starbucks, food from a local restaurant and snacks from the grocery store without having to leave in a vehicle. While sleeping, cars can be heard frequently and this location is not quiet as there is traffic/street car noise.Price - The price was a bit steep but reasonable due to the large room, amenities and location near Universal Studios (the purpose of the trip).
We had a really good experience with our stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the bartenders, James, Harvey and Norm. They were extremely friendly and helped us with dinner plans and other things to do while we were in Burbank. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We are giving a rating of 5, but there were 2 somewhat negative experiences:1) On our first morning there, the coffee maker didnt work. So, I got coffee in the lobby around 8am. I asked the person at the desk if the coffee maker could be fixed or replaced. I told him no rush. We just needed it for the next morning. We came back to the room late at night after being out all day and the same broken coffee pot was sitting there. I called the front desk and they had someone bring a new one immediately. The result was good, but I shouldnt have had to ask a second time.2) I was getting ready to go out to dinner one evening and went to shave. Unfortunately, my shaving cream ran out when I tried to use it. I didnt have enough time to go get a new one, so I called the front desk and they said they would send some up immediately. We waited as long as we could (30-45 mins), but no one brought the shaving cream. We gave up and left for dinner.Other than those minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay again if ever back in the area.
James in the bar was super nice and attentive, asking about our plans and keeping up to date with us. (Plus, the drinks were phenomenal!) The entire place was super clean and nice. Especially with the California discount right now, it was affordable. My wife and I will definitely plan on staying here again!
I am VERY happy with my stay. Check in was very fast and staff was very pleasant. Our room was nice and clean. Loved the showers! On our first night we went to the hotel bar and had 2 drinks(complimentary with our stay!). The beds were comfortable, sheets looked clean, hotel room was pleasingly quiet. Will definitely stay here when we are back in the area. Highly recommend!

Really comfortable beds. Would live to have stayed longer.Went back. Have to say the room we had was superb, Spacious with seating facility if you need to do some work.Down side attention to detail was missing. A hotel of this standard cant clean room every 2nd day!Often coffee pot was finished in breakfast area. Towels missing at pool. Team on site fixed issue when raised. But a guest paying those prices shouldnt have to.Well done to the team as they were always happy to deal with issues.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated incredibly well. Matthew, at the front desk, was welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay special. James, the bartender, was equally welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the double shower was key in getting us ready in the morning! Thank you, Hotel Amarano! Well be staying here again when were next in town.
We arrived in the evening of 1/22/22. Upon walking through the main door all we could smell was alcohol, as there is a bar right at the main entrance. The room was nice, but on further inspection I could see areas that were not properly cleaned and wiped down. This is concerning, especially during the pandemic. It was clear that door handles and the area used to close the bathroom doors were not cleaned as there was debris stuck to the handle. In addition, the door jambs were dirty with hand marks and drips that had dried. The night stand on one side of the bed had water stains and some sort of sticky substance, which means that was not wiped down as well. the toilet did not flush properly and the handle had to be held in order to flush properly. Overall, for the price I was not impressed and will not book at this hotel again when staying in the area.

We stayed the weekend in one of the suites. The room was spacious, tidy and clean, the bed was comfortable and the linens smelled very good, the air conditioning in the room was very efficient, which was welcoming in the humid September weekend.The service was on point and everyone was very helpful. Room service food was top notch.We were impress by the excellent service and professionalism of all the staff. It was an awesome stay.
The service is AWFUL, I asked em to bring a fork to my room and I ended up eating the food with my hands, I wanted to open the window in my room & it was broken, I called room service and never answered, went downstairs asked for someone to help me get breakfast and nobody showed up!! Had to go somewhere else to eat breakfast!! Then I asked for hot water for tea and they said they didnt have hot water!! How u dont have hot water!! Ok so come upstairs and try to get the hot water from the coffee machine but it just kept coming with coffee!!! The cleaning service didnt do a good job either!! Wouldnt recommend and will never come back!!
Hotel was nice and clean and in a nice neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable. Room was nothing spectacular, just a normal room. We were planning on using the shuttle service for local trips we were making. However, every time we asked, it appeared we were bothering them. We did use it once for a trip to universal, and he informed us in no uncertain terms he would not be coming back to get us, we were on our own for a ride back. A couple other times I asked for shuttle service for something within the 3 mile radius, and they refused, stating they didnt have time, or some other excuse, all they were doing was standing at the front entrance talking. Its obvious they do not like doing the shuttles. Our room key stopped working on several occasions and we could not get into our room. Once we stopped housekeeping and asked if she could let us in our room, she opened the door right up for us with out even checking if we actually belonged in that room. Pool is OK, stays in the shade for most of the day. If you get a super good price on this hotel, I would say go for it, if not, I would stay somewhere else.
Great staff...All of them! Wonderful bed and sheets. Quiet and comfortable. Great spa and good food. The only real problem is the parking fee being $40! And the steep delivery charge for room service on top of the 20% automatic gratuity for running upstairs. Its not Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. I wish they would reconsider that amount as it came as a shocking surprise! Also a little maintenance in the bathrooms would help. The faucet was not faceted down properly.
Our stay was great! The room was spacious and nice, service staff was attentive and responsive, youve got restaurants and a Starbucks across the street... The things we werent too crazy about - the shower (we either didnt have water pressure or the shower head needs to be switched out), charges galore (resort fee, valet only/parking fee) and could use a market inside for those on-the-go guests.
We loved it here! The room and bathroom were clean, the front desk agents were always nice (valet guys were hit or miss), and the location of the hotel is great! Rooms give you an old Hollywood feel but with a modern touch.
Loved our 4 day stay. The balcony room over-looking the pool was great, and the price was reasonable. We especially liked James, who seemd to be everywhere addressing our needs. Only minor irritant was no blanket on the bed--just a very light coverlet. We will be back.
I have to thank the staff for continuing to provide services during this challenging time in the world. This is a great property with so much history, it reminds me of the old Hollywood era. I am rating this 3 stars because there were several issues that were spotty. On my first night, I had a room on the second floor overlooking the lobby, so it was extremely noisy. The toilet was not properly cleaned, and the carpet in the closet was dirty. On the plus side, I had a room with a microwave and a walking closet. On the second night, I switched rooms to the 4th floor. The room was very quiet, and it was small without a balcony. They forgot to leave toilet roll in the bathroom, and the shower was dirty. Overall, my stay was good.
This is the best boutique hotel I have stayed in Los Angeles and the price to value match so well. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and up to standard. They had good measures to help lower the spread of covid-19. I definitely would recommend and would stay again when I visit LA. Also the location is pretty close to everything. Ask about discounts they offer when you book directly through them or their website.
This Hotel is absolutely stunning. The room is artistic and has an old Hollywood feel to it. Im giving it 4 stars only because a couple of the staff / employees can be rude and snobbish to guest. All other employees are delightful but unfortunately a couple can ruin the hospitality. Otherwise great location you can literally get to the highway w/ in seconds & a shopping center is directly across the street. As well as Warner Brothers Studio lot is across the street. It is in a neighborhood . But hotel entrance is easily accessible
Love this hotel. My room was perfect. My body was container in the shower was empty but nothing by a simply call to front desk fixed it. Staff was friendly. Valet was prompt.
We really wanted to like this place, and from afar it seems like it will be a wonderful stay, but our experienc was not a pleasant one. The front desk persons seemed put out that we arrived earlier than expected and requested early check in. Our rooms would Not be available until 2pm we were told. Okay, call us when they are available. Received a call@2:10pm. They had us on different floors. (2 rooms 1 parents 1 kids) When we requested rooms close to each other they put us on the same floor but completely across the building, and our room (parents)was over looking the dumpster, at this point it just felt vindictive. One of the selling points included 1 night cap per room per night as well as snacks. Per Front desk, they no longer honor that, but yet they still promote it. We stayed 3 nights, Housekeeping only came on the last night. There was a weird hole over the shower, total creeper vibes.
The hotel should tell you they only do every other day housekeeping. So bring your own towels for a two night stay.
Our stay was very comfortable on a whole. We were in LA visiting my brother and his family. We enjoyed the use of the pool with my niece and nephew very much. Also, the quality of the room service food was excellent.The only negative experience was there was an overwhelming chemical smell in the hot tub. I myself have a swimming pool and hot tub in my backyard and have never experienced the severity of the smell we were exposed to. After leaving the pool area and even after showering, the strong smell stayed with me for hours. It was like it was stuck in my lungs. I let a manager know about the experience and he said he would take care of it. We left soon after, so I dont know if it was resolved.Overall, my experience was more positive than negative. This was my second stay at Amarano and I will most likely return in the future. Hopefully the hot tub issue will then be fixed.
I like the location. Close to Universal studios which is why we were in California. I dislike the hotel placing 15!! Yes that is correct 15 different charges on my credit card tying up over double the cost of the 2 rooms I had booked. Everyday was a new number. When I asked about charges the said taxes the next day it was incidentals Then I had a charge for $821.26 which was my credit balance!! After checking out and being promised all charges would go back on my card, THEY CHARGED ME ANOTHER $303 DOLLARS! I tried to be nice and calmly talk to the front desk About this as I do not see a point in being unkind to someone trying to do their job however now that that tactic did not work here is the truth. The bathroom door did not lock, the fan in the restroom did not work, the handles to the drawers keep coming off. No parking unless you pay $45 a day, shuttle was never available, It was a joke. My advice, unless you have an extra 2 or 3 thousand dollars you dont mind having held for who knows how long, do not stay here! Buyer beware.
I cant say enough about the wonderful folks who work at the hotel! Especially Jefferson and Jerry who really went above and beyond to take care of me. Everyone was wonderful, the food was yummy and accommodations were great. This is absolutely where you want to stay when visiting the area!
Hotel is in a great location, quiet, & a good price. The rooms are better than most hotels because they all come with a fridge and microwave. I definitely recommend this place**NOTE TO MANAGER***ONE DOWNSIDE:The “comforters” are ridiculously THIN, sheet thin. It gets freezing unless you have the heat on, especially in the winter. The rooms need to be upated with thicker comforters/blankets, and more than 2 pillows on the bed please!
Nice property. Rooms are pretty standard. Very well located if you have business with any of the Burbank studios. Walking distance to the strip of restaurants on Riverside. Tad pricey in my opinion.
The hotel was nice, however, not enough blankets on the bed and a request was made to get another blanket and was told there was none to give. It was absolutely freezing. My husband went out to get some water only to be told that if he wanted water he needed to go across the street to the Vons that was open 24 hours to get water. He had to go out at 12:30am for waters, only to notice that there were cases of waters behind the desk. It was very disappointing to say the least and Im disappointed that I paid that much for minimal to no service whatsoever.
Enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean and liked the overall design aesthetic. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed specialty drinks from the FYC bar that were tasty. They did not skimp on the alcohol Location was great. Easy access to Burbank, Glendale, Universal, Griffith Park, Studio City areas. Access to the 134 was just a short distance from hotel. The continental free breakfast was minimal ( small muffins, bagels, yogurt and coffee). We did try some of the restaurants directly across the street which were very good. Try Bae Baes for breakfast. Very large menu. Very good food and great service. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant at the same strip mall. There is also a Starbucks and Vons located there for convenience. I would stay here again.
Great rooms, greater staff. Although the pool and gym were closed, the hospitality made up for it. My wife and I were here for 2 weeks and made friends with everyone specifically Norman and James at the bar. Freaking great people :)I worked out in the front patio everyday and there were never really any people around. I’d stay again.
Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and clean and our suite was amazing. The valets are so friendly and hard-working. Housekeeping was fantastic. The food from room service was delicious. We hope to stay again on our next visit to Burbank.
Hotel was very nice. A quaint little boutique style hotel that met all of our expectations. We were a large group here for a wedding, and Amarano made our stay awesome. My favorite is James the bartender, this man is Gold!

One star Due to room service. I have stayed in many hotels and no matter how expensive, it comes with ice water. Just standard presentation. very disappointed especially considering the price per night, the sevice fee plus instant gratuity, some water would have been nice. You would think they would have advised me that it came drink less.
It’s in a good location, near the highway. The staff are really helpful, competent, and know what they’re doing. They’re the kind of staff you expect in a 5-Star hotel. The valet parking is crazy expensive so just park on the street nearby. The hotel is aging and the attention to detail isn’t there. Our room had numerous small issues that I’d expect at any motel but not at a place where it costs $200+ a night. Chipped mugs, dirty air vents, ripped seats, are all issues I found in my room.
This has been BY far the worst hotel experience! I travel a lot and have stayed at various hotels and I have never been disrespected, humiliated, nor lied to while staying at any hotel, until I booked a room with Amarano. I booked my hotel room through Traveluro for two guests and when I checked in they told me the total at checkout the following morning would be $139.00, which I was confused about because I had paid $150 through Traveluro, but I thought maybe there was some discount. I stayed at this hotel for one night and someone called to complain about stomping. A security came to our door profusely knocking on the door, while we were trying to sleep . When they asked if we were stomping I politely told the security that it must have came from another room because we were already laying in bed or it might have been the fact that earlier we had been walking to the restroom to settle in for the night. The following morning I called the front desk and asked if we could extend our checkout until 2PM because I had a law lecture the following morning, the front desk misinformed me by telling me that it would only be an additional $50 to extend the checkout time to 2PM, so I agreed to the additional $50. The following morning when we checked out one of the front desk employees had the audacity to say that we were stomping in our room last night in front of other guests. It was extremely humiliating to be blamed for something that was untrue and had been settled last night when I spoke to the security. I was in complete shock. I wanted to get out of there fast, so I got my receipt and left, but when I left I noticed that they had charged me $111.20 for late check out. I called the hotel to dispute this because the front desk employee had misinformed me, but the supervisor said that the front desk employee made a note that she told me it was $100 for late check out and that I had checked out late... I tried to explain to the supervisor that the employee misinformed me over the phone, despite what the note stated, therefore the hotel should take responsibility for having misinformed me, he basically said, Oh well settle it with your bank. and even made an outrageous claim that I brought in another guest who checked out late and that is why the $100 would stand??? The only two people in the hotel room were the two guests who checked in together and checked out together and and there is video to prove that. I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of professionalism and accountability for the mistake of one of their employees. Do not stay at this hotel they do not take accountability.
Rooms were clean and well maintained with classy decor. Beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant and professional. Not sure why there is a balcony door with no balcony (rail) but the cool fresh breeze flowing in was relieving. We would definitely come again and recommend to friends and family.
A great boutique hotel very conveniently located near transportation and all my other needs. The amenities are all here and were clean and inviting. The food was great ( I ate here often for all 3 meals) and the staff was exemplary. I hurt myself during my stay and asked if someone could purchase a heating pad for me. The staff was on it immediately and was most helpful.I would definitely stay here when Im back in the area.
Great hotel in the heart of Burbank. A little pricey with the resort fee and valet but that to be expected. Also, within walking distance of stores and restaurants. And 5 minutes from universal studios which is awesome after spending all evening at Haunted Horror Nights. At 1-2 am, your pretty beat and dont want to drive far to get back to your hotel. I definitely recommend staying here.
The hotel overall was well maintained and clean. Hotel staff were respectful, polite, and accommodating. However, I did not like the extra fees to stay at this hotel. When I booked this hotel, I called to check if there were any extra fees so I could pay them upfront, the gentlemen I spoke with over the phone said “no” my reservation is paid in full and I was all set. So my husband and I arrive, they only offer valet parking; $45 a night, we had to park in a residential area and walk back to the hotel, there is a $100 Incidental fee for meals, hotel shuttle, and anything you take from the mini bar in your room, basically, the hotel amenities. Even if you do not utilize these amenities, they do not put the money back on your card. Nice hotel, however they need to let guests know about the extra money required to stay upfront and not when checking in.
I realize that COVID-19 has dramatically impacted the hospitality business. However, I expected at the room rate Amarano charges we would at least have blankets on the beds. Guests could request a blanket (tipped the gentleman who delivered [not his fault]) but what arrived was a thin polyester brown blanket (like a military blanket) no duvets, no bedspreads in our room.Restaurant hours were very limited. When I went down to the parking garage to get something out of my vehicle I was chastised by one of the attendants. On check out - not even a how was your stay was offered. The valets that parked the cars were friendly and helpful. This hotel is far too pricey for the lack of services.
Stayed here for a recent trip to Universal Studios, the hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean
This place was nice, but very expensive. Got to hotel a little early they said that they were going to upgraded our room but actually was downgraded from 2 beds to 1bed and a pullout couch . Drank 1 mini bottle and 3cokes= $37.00 and a extra$20 a day resort fee for pool/hot tub(hot tub was not working) and last but not least the $35.00a day for valet parking(only option) We had a good time and thats all that matters.
This is a nice hotel in a quiet area. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and theres a nice little pool area with a hot tub. We opted to forgo the valet parking for street parking since there were spots available on Easter night, although valet parking was reasonable at $35. The location is not bad if youre looking for something not too far from Hollywood and you have a car.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Amarano! The hotel is very convenient to a lot of attractions in the area. We stayed in one of the one-bedroom suites and it was great! Very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and very attentive and all seemed very proud to work there. I highly recommend this property!
Very nice boutique hotel at an affordable price. Beautiful pool and the room was spacious enough for the 4 of us. Could use a little more fine detail cleaning, though. Breakfast was also way too expensive. We walked across the street to vons and stocked up.
Very beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. Their rooms are clean and beautifully designed. The food at their restaurant is great. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. It is centrally located near everything that you need, restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, and all within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
I have very little nice to say, but here we go.We arrived close to 9:00 PM on Friday evening, we were exhausted and couldn’t find reasonable street parking at the time, so we decided to valet ($45+Taxes/fees for one night.)The valet/bellhop was nice to us, and took care of getting us up to our room. When we got to our room, there was another guests pants in the dresser. I handed them to the valet attendant and he was very apologetic and seemed very unhappy.After he left, I found hair on the bathroom floor that didn’t belong to any of us (my boyfriend is bald, my daughter and I are blonde, the hair was significantly darker than ours). The shower heads could be replaced so theyd work better. The toilet tank cover was not secure and kept moving when in use.The next morning, someone decided to pull a prank and there was a false alarm fire alarm going off before 7 am. When talking to another guest on the way back inside afterwards, we found out this had happened before.We got ready to leave and start our day, we were headed to the beach, but getting the car out of valet took some time because they could not the ticket we were given to our car or by our room number. A little worrisome, but once we told them which make/model our car was they were able to find it. Not wanting to pay another over $50 for valet for our second and final night, we found free parking up an adjacent street not too far away. Stores and restaurants across the street from the hotel were nice and in walking distance as well.We received 6 drink tickets for our stay (that I believe were part of the “amenity fee”). Some cocktails are excluded from the tickets, but the bartender was able to make our requests work (might have been because of the tip that was visible on the counter when we used our first tickets). The second night, when we used another two tickets, the bartender used the last drops of 2 soda bottles to fill a drink, it felt like the bartenders are told to be extremely stingy when people use drink tickets. The drink was flat and stiff.When checking out, the front desk was not friendly and didnt even look me in the eye. I was asked for my room number and printed out my charges. I didn’t feel welcomed by the attendants at the front desk during checkout, which to be fair, was the opposite of how we were treated upon our arrival. The guest that was ahead of me got much better service and was even offered a water.I was initially excited for the level of care we received, but after the initial impressions we were very let down by the service and cleanliness. I would not recommend this hotel, nor will I be returning.
I just completed a business trip to Burbank. The Hotel Amarano didnt disappoint. It fits right into the local neighborhood and if you want a quiet, classy space to call your home for a few days, this is nice choice. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The room was classy and fairly luxurious. Amenities were above average. The fitness room was decently equipped and the pool area lovely. The staff very helpful, the location ideal and the price through Expedia with a rental car was quite good. I was pleasantly surprised and will consider staying here again when in the area.
Upon arrival, I found out that my payment was never taken on the hotels website, even though it said it did. I had a very long day and drive, so I was a bit upset at the news of having to pay when I thought I already had. I was a bit stressed and upset after learning the news, but not belligerent or mean to front desk clerk - and I didnt swear. She had the nerve to tell me that I didnt have the right to be upset and that she didnt have to put up with my attitude. I think a little empathy would have gone a very long way and she needs to learn how to take care of the guests - especially those who are upset.The next morning I talked to the front desk manager about her. He didnt offer an apology or try to make things right - only offered me a lousy bottle of water.Last thing, hotel has a Save the Earth policy, which is good, but they failed to mention that if you choose to participate, they dont clean your room at all. They dont take out the trash or make the beds. Terrible policy.I dont know how this hotel can call themselves a boutique hotel. They cheap out on soap and shampoo by having it hang cheaply on the wall, and the rooms are filthy on top of the poor service. Hair on clean towels and lampshades. Filthy stains on their bed skirts and pillows.One bright note, the valet is excellent!! So worth the $45/day fee!! They made me feel welcome and remembered me. Asked me how my day trips were and thanked me for my being there.I hope the petition for new ownership passes, because this current ownership sucks.
2 nights stay were horrible. I reserved the room for 351 sqft but we got assigned to the room only 300 sqft.I booked the room through the phone to the hotel directly first, and was told there are no extra fee for parking etc. but actually got charged the resort fee.1st night: No one knows how to adjust the AC setup during the night shift; as a result, I had to wake up at 12 am, 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, 6 am and 6:35 am to try on how to adjust the AC by ourselves. We were chilled for whole night.2nd night: the next door moved in new tenant(s) and smoked, screamed and yelled till 10:15 pm. They left the TV play out loud. The front desk sent house keeper to knock the door, no one answered the door and left the TV kept screaming. We had to call the front desk again, then security came to open the door to turn off the TV. Few minutes the tenant(s) returned to the room, and started to smoke and turn on the TV out loud till almost 12 am. We then had to move to the other room in the middle of the night.The hotel earns $500 through our suffering by charging the penalty to the next door tenant(s). Shouldnt that $500 go to compensate the victims? If we were victimized the most, why didnt we get the most portion of that $500 penalty charge but just $50 by not charging us the resort fee which we should not be charged that was told by the phone when booking?The hotel did not take care of the issues properly. The hotel earns extra money by suffering the tenants. The hotel did not assign the room as promised.
The atmosphere, service and accommodations were fantastic. We had our out of town wedding guest stay at the hotel and all were so impressed.The food at our rehearsal Dinner and breakfasts were awesome.The sales manager Laurie Dew was fantastic and focused on the detail and premium accommodations.
Laurie was over the top amazing ever step of the way!!! She helped create and make our daughters Sweet 16 party so successful and wonderful.When I arrived to set up my decorations for our event 45 minutes later then I wanted (I was completely stressed and overwhelmed) Laurie and our server were waiting for me upon my arrival with open arms and ready to jump in to make magic quickly happen. All of the food was fantastically delicious! Our server was amazing and constantly on top of everything and was very in tune to our needs. The space was perfect for our needs and the room was perfect for the small dance floor that my daughter wanted.The patio was perfect and comfortable when the guests wanted to rest outside and get some fresh air. Harvey the bartender was wonderful, friendly and so sweet and took great care of us when my husband and I wanted to enjoy a couple of adult beverages.Thank you to all of the staff for helping to make our party a special and memorable one. You are all so awesome and we hope that we have an occasion in the near future that will require your space.
I prefer simply not returning more than writing a negative review, but so many of the staff were warm and gracious, the location terrific, the accent paneling in the room a nice touch, but...Its as if FYC ( For Your Consideration) bar and restaurant is a completely different entity. It had a completely different vibe. An unwelcoming one. We are forgiving during COVID-19, but that negative experience insured we wont return. It did not feel safe. It wasnt even a restaurant. It is a lounge with food. Weve both been in Food and Beverage most of our lives. We were not greeted warmly, as if we couldnt figure out how this joint worked, it was on us. We seemed to put the staff out when we asked to sit at an actual table on the patio. The waiter ignored us, even as he served a table four feet away. But the deal breaker was that the waiter pulled his mask down to full chinstrap position EVERY time he approached the service bar. In front of everyone at the bar. 18 months and 700K Americans dead. What will it take to wear a mask properly? He was not getting anywhere near my food. We left, crossed the street to Vons, and ate sandwiches.Two other things: for $300 a night, I expect lotion in my room. Then to add $25 more as a resort fee on my way out seems dishonest. What did I get for that? Why not just charge $325 for the room? Thats it. I wish you well ☮️Stan Kansas
This is by far my favorite hotel stay! The staff was amazing!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! The shower pressure was perfect. The beds were cozy. Perfect area safe area within walking distance of WB studios. You must have a cocktail and perhaps an app at the bar area! Best bar staff ever!!
Definitely a very good hotel to stay at all staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean with no issues, the pool was open with not a lot of people there but we also stayed Monday through Thursday. Most definitely would pick this hotel again in the futureYES THEY CHARGE $45.00 PER DAY TO PARK
Good location with fantastic service, everybody willing to help us with any request we had(and we had a few). We booked a big room deluxe (400 sqf. With a bath tub by request). Across the street in the shopping center there is a delicious breakfast place, a grocery store, and Bank. Very nice location. You can walk or take an uber/Lyft or scooter to many nearby restaraunts and shops.

Both times Ive stayed here was for work, but Ive had a great stay every time. Rooms are clean and stylish. Not too big. Just right. Its also located in a convenient place (at least for my work) and there are many great restaurants within a10 - 15min drive away. I highly recommend it!
I was here with for a quick get-away with my niece and nephew. I did not want to be in a noisy area and wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. This place delivered. The room we stayed in had two queen or full-sized beds and still felt roomy. I liked the decor and that they offer shuttle services to the airport and to Universal Studios. The staff we met were all very friendly and accommodating. Would dedinitely come back here again. Highly recommend this place.
The hotel is convenient to Universal Studios. Our room was clean and spacious with a balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the bar was surprisingly high quality, and the bartender was great. Free WiFi and welcome drink.
Stayed here two nights to take the family to Universal Studios. Not impressed. This isn’t a 4 star hotel by any standard.To start with the rooms were dirty (we had two) including stains on the bedding and wallpaper and visible grime build up on switches and flat surfaces. One tub didn’t drain properly so water backed up to mid calf when showering. The sheets on one bed in our other room actually had holes in it.Staff was nice enough but pretty useless. The bellman unloaded our car when we checked in and then disappeared...completely. After calling down twice I finally came down 30 minutes later and brought the cart up myself. Valet parking is the only option (at ~$55/day tax in) and we waited and waited every time we had the car brought around and had to come inside and find the valet when we returned.The $25/day/room “amenity fee”? For what? They literally had a sign in the room that the first two k-cups for coffee were free and after that they would be charged. There were no amenities. None.I travel and stay in hotels over 100 days a year for work and I NEVER complain or write reviews. I just let It slide and move on. But this place was just gross and really left a bad taste in my mouth.
The website advertises a continental breakfast and for a luxury hotel I expected like in most places, toasts, eggs, fruits... But instead there was a complimentary breakfast a small table in the lobby with pre-packaged pastries, apples and drip coffee. Any chain hotel will offer a better breakfast than that.
Wonderful boutique hotel located in Burbank. Beautiful large rooms and great facilities including fitness room, pool and hot tub. Hotel is across road from several stores where you can grab a bite or coffee. Really close to the Burbank airport and less than than 10min from downtown Burbank. Concierge only parking which is expensive but there is plenty of free public parking in the area. Highly recommended.
I live in the San Fernando Valley and wanted to plan a staycation, somewhere close to me. I was delighted to find Hotel Amarano which was only 15 minutes away. I booked the Superior King room and it was awesome! I love the old Hollywood ambiance of the hotel. When you walk in the lobby you can see the lounge which has a colorful, sophisticated decor. Too bad the lounge area and restaurant were shut down due to Covid. Each room is hand curated with pictures and furniture items and something unique. Book a stay at Hotel Amarano. You wont be disappointed. I will definitely be going back!
Very nice atmosphere at this hotel. All the staff were very courteous and directed us where to park since we didnt want to pay for the expensive valet parking. The room was very nice with a fridge and stylish decor.
We wanted to visit Universal and this was a good hotel location wise, close to Burbank airport and universal. The rooms are spacious and good, overall its value but what put me off was the front desk. The morning front desk didnt wear a smile and neither greeted guests the whole 3 days we came across them. They have complimentary shuttle to universal and Airport but for universal they told us its not available and the first time we came from the airport, the driver was super rude as though why did we even ask for a shuttle? After that we only called for UBER/Lyft. The morning staff in totality was HORRIBLE but the evening staff was that much more pleasant. Ali at the front was great..thats why the 4 rating otherwise for the horrid service, I would rate them just 1 star.
True what they say about good things coming in small packages. This is a lovely boutique hotel. Nice pool, good size rooms and excellent service. Very handy for the WB lot. Nice bar area to grab a couple of drinks at the bar or sit down and get something to eat. Ive stayed in larger hotels nearby but much prefer the intimacy of the Amarano.
I have stayed several times now while there for work. Great hotel with friendly staff and strong customer service. Rooms are updated and more then comfortable. Convenient little work out room on site and pool as well.
The rooms are clean, updated, with nice amenities. The hallways to get to the rooms have a stale/musty smell, and were dirty most of my stay. Luckily there is little reason to be in the hallways. Parking is basically first come, first serve on the surface streets surrounding the hotel, or on property for $35/day. That said, this is a nice hotel and conveniently located to pretty much everything Hollywood.
Hotel was nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Room wasnt ready on check in even though it was well into the evening on arrival. Received complimentary drink tickets while waiting for room, but bar drinks with a fam are almost a detriment. Also for some reason the bartender was rude both to my wife and me. Then, none of the drinks listed on the menu were covered by the drink vouchers. Felt like a bait and switch. Otherwise unremarkable stay/hotel. The whole part of town was pretty dead on the weekend which didnt help.
Very nice hotel with great customer service. The only issue I had was we were in a suite with 3 people. They had one bed and a pull-out bed couch that I got to sleep on. It was comfy, but the gentleman who made the bed and set up the bedding only gave me two thin white sheets to use as blankets. I woke up all throughout the night freezing. I maybe got 2-3 hours of sleep that night. That was the only downfall.

The lobby and building itself were very well maintained, the staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious. Its also right next to several studios and lots of restaurants, so there are things to see and do if youre just travelling with a few friends or family. However beyond that, its just a nice and somewhat overpriced hotel. Id personally rather go to a Sheraton or DoubleTree, but its definitely not a bad choice of hotel overall.
Good part was the bedroom, it was spacious and very clean (not cheap tho) and the location was awesome. We were wanting to go to universal studios and this hotel is less than 10 min away.It doesnt have a parking lot so you either can pay valet parking for $40 a night or park on the street at your preference. Also there are some amenities charges for $25 daily that we didnt fully understand why. In general, it was a good experience.
Always very skeptical of hotels and usually stay in Beverly Hills but wow I love this hotel so much and the vibe from the staff is so amazing that we have made this our to go spot. Hernan the hotel manager was absolutely nothing short of Awesome with a positive experience. He made our stay so welcoming that he beats any other hotel I’ve ever stayed in Los Angeles. Come here if you want a luxurious inviting stay, I guarantee you’ll come back!
Someone associated with the hotel is listing rooms on airbnb with a photo of one of their rooms- what they don’t tell you is that you’re not guaranteed to get that exact room. I booked based on the decor depicted on the airbnb listing and was put in something completely different. When I asked the front desk to move me I was told there weren’t any rooms available like the one I booked and that when you book through airbnb the hotel gets to pick your room so you may not get the one in the picture. Nowhere in the listing does it say that or show pictures of other rooms. When I reached out to the person that I booked with through Airbnb, all he did was tell me to speak the front desk (which he would’ve known I already did if he read my message) then he apologized for the inconvenience, saying he’d look into what happened, and I haven’t heard from him since. On top of that the room was dusty and someone was trying to get in my room at 10:30pm when I was sleeping- the front desk had given her a key to my room apparently forgetting they’d already put someone in there. A disappointing experience for sure and I’m so glad I was only staying one night.
Had such a pleasant experience. From the wonderful aroma in the lobby to the wonderful plush bedding and comfortable robes in my room. Great and very pleasant experience all around! So glad that I chose to spend my birthday here!
First let me start by saying I wish I would have read all the bad reviews on this hotel before booking our wedding night stay at this hotel. I live in Burbank and my husband booked a two night stay at this hotel, one for the night before the wedding for him to stay and the night of the wedding. The room itself was nothing special or fancy. It was mediocre and equivalent to a 2 or maybe 3 star hotel at most. This was well overpriced for what the offered. But that wasnt out main issue. My husband paid to have roses, rose petals, and champagne to be waiting in our room when we returned for our special wedding night. We arrived at 12:30pm to 1pm to absolutely nothing. My husband called down to the front desk and they had no answer and no manager to speak to but yet they had already charged him. He reminded them weeks ago and then again the day of the wedding. Since we were so tired, we just didnt have the fight in us at that time. The next morning we were fast asleep and got woken up by a 6am wake up call we didnt ask for. At this point we were done, packed up our things and left. At checkout, I then complained to the front desk about them not following through on our wedding package, the lady asked what did they say when you called last night, did they say why? I looked at her and said, no they the forgot? She was like, oh sry and checked us out. Not a let me comp you a night or parking our anything. Our wedding night cannot be recreated and they dropped the ball so bad that it was inexcusable. And to add insult to injury, they just didnt care. They had no compassion at all. Not even a genuine apology for that matter. No callback from a manager to apologize nothing. I live in Burbank and will do my best to discourage people from coming to this Hotel. All I can say to my readers i listen to the comments and dont waste your time. I usually stay at the The Roosevelt in Hollywood, but we wanted to be in Burbank, close to home the next morning. If I could have do-over, I would choose differently.
Great service from Laurie and the entire team. Venue and staff were very flexible with our needs and amenable to the unique nature of our request for a relatively small (~25 people) professional group. Library lounge next door was perfect for our post-meeting social event. Cant say enough good things about the event. Will definitely be returning to Hotel Amarano for our next meeting. On the whole this event was a very good value, especially for the region, one area for improvement would be on food and beverage prices.
Your corridors have a distinct unpleasant smell. Carpets needs to be washed in the corridor or replaced. Your bathroom doors the one that leads into it has a lock that does not work. The door to the toilet itself does not even close, it does not fit into frame properly, perhaps quite old and has never been fixed. The tub was super dirty, with either dust or bath salt used by previous guest and had hair in the tub. We were too busy with our Universal trip or else we would have complained about these things while we were at the property. Your valet/bell boys if not tipped every single time wont even help with putting the luggage into the car. If we are coming and going 4-5 times a day, we cant tip them every time. So honestly wont stay here again unless you made changes.
Loved our stay, friendly, clean, room service is expensive, but I guess its normal for that area. Lady cleaning rooms are very sweet. Specially Jael... very helpful and friendly . Guys ar the bar were very friendly too. The pool was usually empty and it was better for me ❤
Overall are stay was enjoyable. The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful with the exception of on housekeeper who was unfriendly and unmasked. The continental breakfast was underwhelming but I assume this was due to COVID revisions. Our biggest disappointment was due to another COVID reason. The indoor mask mandate went into effect on 7/18. Many quests were unmasked and there was no effort on the part of the staff to enforce the restriction. . For many of us who are immuno-compromised even though vaccinated, walking through the narrow halls and riding the one operating elevator with unmask people was unsettling (hopefully limited to that). While I understand the difficulty mask compliance presents to a business operation such as yours, I would expect a responsible operator to make some effort to comply with the law particularly one dealing with the health and safety of its guests.
I stayed here for a week and was satisfied. Excellent location with lots of amenities within walking distance. Having a Vons, Starbucks and a couple restaurants across the street was beneficial. Valet parking was efficient. I’d stay here again.
Overall the experience was good. This is the third time we have stayed here. However, this time there was partying and yelling and running up and down the hall on the floor we were staying at on the first night, a Friday. This went on til late at night and did not stop . When I called, I was told that someone had already been sent up, and that security could be sent, but the noise continued a bit longer. We came from out of state, with a two hour time difference and so are already tired by ten pm, let alone two in the morning. We needed to get up early the next day to drive to Disney to celebrate our sons birthday. We had a terrible nights sleep due to the girls on the tv show, the bachelor, staying at the hotel, yucking it up endlessly. It was awful.
I am staying at the Hotel Amarano for 11 days for work and so far I must say I am loving it. The staff has been very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are gorgeous and clean, I absolutely love the walk in shower with the glass doors. The room service is amazing as well. I highly suggest the French Dip and the Creme Brulee!!
I stayed here in July 2014 with my 2 teenage daughters. We loved the hotel. The lobby/bar area is very sophisticated yet warm and cozy. We actually met Robert Stromberg at the hotel bar - no kidding. (the hotel is a mile from Warner Bros studios and directly across from one of Warner Bros.s lots.) Aside from our brush with fame, we found the hotel very convenient - there is a grocery store, dry cleaner, sandwich shop, and pharmacy directly across the street. Within 1 block is a 24-hr. CVS. The hotel was clean and we enjoyed the pool, although did not get to use it much. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The business center was great for printing out any theme park tickets or airline tickets. I knew about the parking situation from all of the reviews, and honestly, it did not bother me. I was able to find parking on the street every night (even if I had to walk a little), but did use the valet parking the first and last night. I would definitely stay here again.
No on-site parking, unless using valet wich is $45-50. Need to park your vehicle in the surrounding neighborhood for free but bring your walking shoes. You need to warm up the shower in order to get the Desired temp. unless you like cold showers. Not worth the price they charge for a night stay. We where almost charged 3x for the room the reservation and pay system is a joke.
It was a clean hotel. Worst experience ever for sleeping here first time. Around 3am one housekeeper and front desk staff came to our room and open the door with their own key without knocking. Woke up to ask what they need and reason as to why they open the door without calling or waiting til the morning. The front desk staff told my wife there was a glitch on her card and left. We didn’t get the name of the front desk staff and housekeeper, but it was two male. We inform supervisor and manager In the morning but felt like they didn’t do much about the situation and just told us they will upgrade us to a suite. Manager said there was a mistake with the computer and night staff assume room was “vacant”. Instead of staying our two nights, we check our that morning. Don’t want anyone to experience what we experience. Hotel staff should never open any guest door! They could’ve knock, call or wait til the morning instead of using their own keys to open our room 3am and telling us there was a glitch on my wife card. If there was a glitch on the card they would’ve told us when we check in. Hope no one experience what we did and stay safe!
Ive been staying at this hotel for many years, mostly for business. When I first started coming, it was a nice enough hotel. But my last stay there (in July 2018) was terrible on every level. Many of the rooms are in need of renovation. But what really struck me this time was just how unfriendly the staff has become. Generally, much of the staff treats you as an inconvenience. And thats probably the best you can hope for. The doorman has been there since the dawn of time and I guess he has the equivalence of tenure. As a consequence, he just doesnt care. The highlight was the bartender. Upon check-in I was given some drink vouchers. But I made the unforgivable mistake of not presenting the vouchers to the bartender BEFORE he rung up my tab. (I had actually just forgotten about them until he brought me the check; but I suppose some people would not even have known that its best to present your voucher before you close out your tab.) When the bartender took the waiter wallet, he was visibly agitated and said I should have provided those to him before he rung me out. Then he pulled out the receipt, crumpled it up, and threw it to the ground with disgust.Another highlight: the air conditioner. Our air conditioner didnt work.It took 4 visits from the maintenance folks to finally fix it. But that was over the course of 2 sleepless nights in an uncomfortably warm room.What bothered me about that experience was there was never any offer to move us to a different room, no monetary compensation and not even an apology when we checked out. Welcome to the Amarano!

This probably isnt fair - as the standard of a stay has changed since Covid. This was our first time in a hotel since pre pandemic. Services were minimal and the bed was uncomfortable and we froze - worst night sleep in a very long time... The valet was prompt and very courteous.

I did not appreciate this place. The number one complaint is noise: both in terms of hearing other guests (the walls and ceilings seem paper-thin) as well as the plumbing - the pipes made the most bizarre and annoying noises. I even recorded some of them. If youre a light sleeper, good luck! Overall, it feels very dated. There was some construction going on while I was there, but not sure what the scope of that was. Felt contained to upgrading some rooms. Its not a complete disaster, but definitely not a four star hotel (whatever the basis is for being classified as such).
Had quite a terrible experience this evening. Traveled home to LA for the first time in 8 months to meet my new nephew. Was in need of a trusted and safe place to stay to quarantine for a few days post travel. I booked my room at the Amarano a few weeks ago as this is where my family and friends stay whenever they are in town. I’m high risk so I anxiously planned my trip in detail. Cut to my arrival this evening after a 6 hour flight - the Amarano, despite having booked rooms to myself and others, had accepted a buy out. I received no call, email, or text prior to arrival. The two sweet gentlemen at the front desk offered to book me at the Holiday Inn or Best Western. I declined. Not exactly what I would say is comparable nor what I would deem safe for a high risk person in “the time of COVID”. Beyond disappointing. I won’t be back and I’ll make sure my friends, family, and clients aren’t either.
So yes its a gorgeous hotel the beds are comfortable and the rooms are decent sized but the walls are SO THIN. If you want a decent nights sleep get ear plugs. Also the maids ignore the do not disturb sign when you put it on the door and REFUSE to stop knocking even after youve told them youre sleeping.
Thank you for your extraordinary hospitality and service during our two weeks stay at Hotel Amarano. There are too many employee names to list from Matthew and others at the front desk, to Norm, James in the restaurant, and the lovely valets that packed, unpacked, watched our dog, as I ran around to work and appointments in preparation for our interstate move to Nevada. I plan on sharing our superb treatment on Facebook, Google and Yelp. We have already mentioned to our friends this gem in the neighborhood. It is beautifully maintained, located next to restaurants, Starbucks and Vons. We will make this our California home when we visit friends or appointments after our relocation. Hotel is well kept and very nice, with spacious rooms and a good pool and hot-tub (poolside chairs, and rentable cabanas too!) The employees are very nice and helpful and the valet is safe and efficient. The only downside is that some rooms have different layouts. (One has a mini-kitchen with mini-fridge and a micorwave, while the other room has a desk and a hidden mini-fridge.) Its a great distance from everything and is a great place to stay over the weekend or on vacation.
Pretty nice, but any additional things are weirdly expensive. The in room coffee machine comes with enough to make one single non-decaf cup of coffee, even if multiple people are staying in the room, but you can pay for more of course. $9 bottles of water. Crap like that.Its on a noisy street, which isnt great. No parking, and super expensive valet. Room prices are OK though.
Extremely disappointing. Incredibly Overpriced!I might as well have been staying in a room at an Econo Lodge as far as quality. I bought the room for the night via a google search. I was looking to be in walking distance to a meeting I had in the area. The photos looked beautiful and for over $300 a night I assumed it would be a very clean and comfortable stay in a lovely little boutique hotel.Nope.The room was fine at first glance - not adorable, or special or charming - it was nice-ish/fine. But upon actually settling into the room I see that the chairs and carpet were stained (see photos - Im known to be dramatic but Im certainly not dramatizing this) - it made the place feel filthy - obviously. I doubted that anything else in there was actually clean. When I pulled back the sheets the bed wasnt fully covered with the bottom sheet -- almost a foot of the mattress and mattress pad were fully exposed at the end of the bed (!?!Like, whaaat?). I was looking forward to using the pool and the hot tub but I got a skeeved out after seeing the room and decided it was best not to pick up some hepatitis b from a little dip in their pool.As far as pricing - they charge an extra $27ish for amenities, which include: pool, gym, internet, a bottle of water and complimentary glass of house wine or beer - its super annoying but sure, fine. However, when I tried to connect to the internet it barely worked. I called the front desk and they told me I had to pay an extra $10 for the better internet or $15 for best internet. Are you effing kidding me? They have 2 coffee pods with the Keurig in the room - one is regular and one is decaf, but if you want more than 1 cup of regular, you have to purchase more caffeine filled cups for an extra 2 bucks each. I asked if I could get a late check out (not that I wanted to stay any longer - but I had a meeting and wanted to leave my stuff in the room). They finally let me, but at first they said well have to charge you an hourly fee to which I rolled my eyes so far back in my head that she said you can have until noon.Ive stayed at both The Garland and The Spring Hill Suites and had lovely experiences at both. I wish I had stayed at either of those places again. I will not be returning to this hotel.
We visited a family member who was staying at the Hotel Amarano. The room was very clean and cozy. Everything looked very elegant. The lobby was very spacious and inviting. The only down side is that there is no self parking, so we had to find a spot on the street to park.
Is there a 6 star ..??? simply great every time from pulling in the driveway and being greeted by the valet to the check and always seeing my guy Jerry ( such a great guy) to the room pool and spa then in the bar for a few dinks and dinner simply great time thanks to the whole team Mitch
Quaint cute but dated. The Hollywood charm has faded as evident in the old rugs, the wear in the furniture and technology in the room. Service overall was good but the lack of nearby food options meant room service or the small bar downstairs.
Amara is and has always been a second home. Great gem in Burbank. Modern well-appointed rooms. Small, but elegant pool area with cabanas. Fitness center was likewise small, but had good equipment. Food at the Library Lounge had huge portions. Friendly bartender and valet attendant were super helpful. Vons supermarket is conveniently located across the street and is open 24 hours. Would definitely stay again.
Described as a boutique hotel, I agree it is the right descriptor. It is centrally located in Burbank and close to Warner Bros and other tv and film studios. Its style is quietly understated and has a more personal feel to it than larger hotels like the Sheraton or Hilton style. Service was good, rooms very acceptable and the general ambience was most agreeable. Will stay again on next LA visit.
I would give this Hotel a 0 if I could. I arrived Friday night after a 2.5 hour drive to find my reservation was cancelled due to the Hotel not being able to charge the first night rate due to a credit card issue. I do believe I put a cell number and email address in the reservation so why was i never contacted before i got there? After getting that situated I went up to my room to take a shower only to find the drain is partially clogged and the tub filling up with water. The next day I took the family to Universal Studies and expected to take their shuttle there and back. The front desk informed us that the shuttle didnt start until 10, so we decided to take a Uber instead. After we spent the day at Universal Studios we called the Hotel to ask when the next shuttle was. The Hotel mentioned the shuttle was no longer running due to mechanical issues, so we had to take a Uber back. After arriving back to the Hotel my Daughter wanted to visit the pool which was out of towels so another guest went to the Front Desk to ask for more. Oh and by the way dont stay on the 2nd floor like we did if you are looking for ice or a vending machine because you will not find one. Stay on the 3rd floor for some reason they have 2 ice machines. I would never stay at this Hotel again.
A somewhat decent hotel in the middle of Burbank. Across the street is a great breakfast place. Its hard to get an accommodations in LA proper that dont have that LA smell, like the back of a restaurant. This hotel is no exception. You have to valet park your car. The rooms are somewhat smallish. This is a great place to stay if youre working, but not a place youd set out to visit. They do the best they can.
Ive always enjoyed staying here, the staff is great, but lately it seems to me that the hotel is trying to find more and more clever ways to add charges to your bill. On my latest stay, I saw a daily charge of $20, which they call an Amenity Fee. When I called to ask about this, I was told this covers things like your free newspaper, coffee and tea, etc. Of course this fee is never mentioned when you book the reservation. Oh, and of course theres also a tax on the daily amenity fee as well. This is on top of the daily CA Tourism Tax, the Burbank Tourism Tax, the Occupancy Tax, and lets not forget the $35.99 for parking, and tax on that, another $4.32. Time to start looking into airbnb.
Carpets were very dirty and the curtains had some brown stains on them. Also the front door would move and squeak every time the room next to us would open or close their door (which was often). The front desk personnel was very nice though.
I stayed here for two weeks and I loved it. Its not perfect, but the staff is really friendly and efficient. The pool is small but sweet and there is no scene to contend with The food is very good. The bar and lounge is lovely. You can walk across the street for breakfast, to go to Starbucks, a great drugstore and a good grocery store. So for a long stay its nice. And you can walk a couple of blocks into Toluca Lake for some really fine restaurants and coffee. The only improvement I would make is the music they play. Los Angeles is a music town and there is so much great music to be heard, you just wont hear any of it at the pool, the lounge, or wafting through the halls.

2023-12-06 16:29:02We loved the vibe, decor and hospitality. Location for our needs was great. We stayed 4 nights.They have a policy that they clean rooms every other day, which was not issue. We arrived on Friday, and they were suppose to clean & refresh towels on Sunday, and they forgot. After calling, they did bring us towels and cleaned the room on the last day of our stay. I do think the cleaning could be more thorough. Overall, I would definitely book with them again.

2023-11-14 20:32:35What a great hotel. Superb staff from start to finish. excellent, luxurious rooms, we have stayed multiple times and its always a treat. Suits great value too. restaurant serves quality food, but dont forget, Los Angeles pricing! Valet park only, but there is ample parking across the road at the shopping centre which includes a supermarket, so you can get your theme park or hotel snacks. Good proximity to the studios, and highway if you need a base to get around the city. happy to recommend this one.

2023-12-05 23:39:50The staff and housekeeping were very nice. But I was very disappointed with the room. It was not like the pictures on the website. The bed was in between the bathroom and next to a window which made it very hard to get in and out of bed. There was also hair on the bed. It felt so cramped. The lighting in the room was not great and the couch was not comfortable. Not sure if the window was broken but I was able to hear all the noises coming from outside making it hard to sleep. For the price that I paid I expected better.

2023-11-10 15:36:30My company and I use this hotel regularly for work trips and always love the staff and hotel. Gave 4 stars because my room was downgraded without any notice until I got into the room to see that it wasnt what had even been confirmed at the front desk. All of the power and USB outlets on the side table were out and some completely missing which created a bit of an issue when trying to charge multiple devices for next days use. Still a good hotel and will continue to return!

The hotel location is absolutely prefect and close to everything. The room was AMAZING and the overall hotel vibe and experience incredible! All the associates throughout every part of the hotel were wonderful and the service, first class! From the time I arrived and was greeted by the very friendly valet staff and with Windy at check-in who upgraded me to a beautiful poolside room. I would also like to give a big thank you to Libby the Director of Sales and Marketing for pulling my reservation together last minute, you’re fantastic! Plus, to Laurie the Sales Manager for always taking the time to check in with me making sure I have everything I need. Along with sharing the incredible history about “Amara’s Den’” the room I was staying in as well. Oh, and not to forget Norm the bartender extraordinaire at the very cool FYC hotel bar for making his delicious craft cocktails. Lastly, a thank you is definitely owed to Peter the General Manager for having such an incredible staff from A to Z and making this truly one of the best hotel properties Ive ever stayed at. 2023-07-17 10:22:02Super cute boutique hotel. Has Valet parking and in a residential area there’s parking in the residential space but the Valet was very friendly. Front Desk staff was nice and professional. Pool area a bit small but nice seating space. Lobby Restaurant food was great. But the lady at the Lobby bar had an attitude like she just wasn’t very personable. A little rude demeanor. But all in all it was a nice hotel. Room decor also very eclectic.
