This was such an amazing experience! This B&B is only about 30 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it’s so cute! We booked the room with a fireplace, at the last minute I decided I wanted a hot tub but the inn was fully booked so I decided to just take a tub and even that was wonderful! The staff is super friendly and very helpful, they really go above and beyond here! We had a leftover pizza and the staff let us use the oven to heat it up. There is breakfast set out in the morning (7-10) before your Yosemite adventure and even snacks and water bottles you can take with you! In the evening (6-8) they have charcuterie and wine for guests to unwind and mingle with each other. They have 2 Tesla chargers, one wasn’t working when we arrived but by the next morning they had it fixed, plus one universal EV charger. I will definitely be telling all of my friends and family about this inn if they ever come to Yosemite and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay!
Customer service is hands down 10/10! I am so appreciative of the amazing staff at Hounds Tooth Inn. I had a situation where I had to communicate with Hounds Tooth Inn and my 3rd party reservation system which involved several back and forth and back and forth calls. The manager at Hounds Tooth Inn was so understanding, patient, and helpful in the situation and I am so thankful and grateful! Hounds Tooth Inn takes cares of their customers and I highly recommend them to everyone!
Markets itself as a luxury hotel - when it just isn’t. We paid $276 a night but at best it’s a $100 value hotel. We raised our concerns with the staff member on duty in the morning before we left - from her reaction we aren’t the first people to feel this way at all. Look elsewhere first!
We stayed there for one night on our trip from Yosemite to the Death Valley and we absolutely loved it. We arrived to a very nice receptionist and a tray full of freshly baked cookies. The room was very spacious, spotless and the fireplace made it even cozier. The bed was really comfortable.The staff is excellent and friendly and the service is great. There are several options for breakfast and it’s included. We had omelettes with fresh vegetables, fresh squeezed orange juices and two coffees. Not only was it delicious but also it was served by the chef himself and he was really nice. Everything about this inn is so nice! We highly recommend it. If we ever come back to Yosemite we’ll definitely stay there again!
This is an OK Bed & Breakfast that is overprices. One of the big features of our room advertised in both the name of the room and pictures was the jacuzzi tub. My wife loves jacuzzi tub baths and was looking forward to it after hiking in the park. Unfortunately, the tub would not fill with water. The stopper was not the issue, but the water flowed out the pump input area so they tub would only fill with 1.5 inches of water. We told different staff several times, but they showed a general indifference, did not attempted to fix the tub and did not offer any credit even though they are charging extra for this feature. The grounds are not very pretty nor interesting, and there was very little comfortable outdoor seating. The only comfortable outdoor seating looks over an area that is not too nice. Lastly, on the negative side, the room provided slippers, but no bathrobe, which we thought was strange.On the positive side: One young gentleman was quite helpful upon our arrival in storing some large luggage we had. We thought the reception had very nice appetizers and good wine offerings. The breakfast was very large and delicious. Unfortunately, we had a large late dinner the night before and we were not very hungry to each much of our breakfast.
Great place! We stayed here one night during our honeymoon because the cabin we had, nearby in the Redwoods was horrible. (Small and with stains in the carpet etc)We loved our room, the jacuzzi and the warm welcome we got. How nice to find a handwritten welcome and some freshly cookies on the bed. And how nice to find wine and nibbles in the restaurant around 6. Perfect! Thanx for a lovely time!
My new husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon trip to Yosemite, and it was just perfect! Everyone was very friendly, the room was so nice and clean (we sprang for the suite with the hot tub and fireplace, highly recommend), and I cannot say enough good things about the chef, Jesse. Breakfast every morning was such a treat and it was always amazing. The only thing that I would change is adding curtains in the rooms since we woke up when the sun came up every day.
This place is luxurious at a reasonable price. The rooms are CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. The only gripe, if you call it that, was the water pressure in my room was lacking in the shower. The breakfast was sensational.The staff was helpful, very friendly, professional and present. I appreciate the conversation with Myra who took the time to talk with me about my travels and listen. Thank you!You will pay about $100 more than the average commercial property, but its worth it, especially if you get there during the day and are able to enjoy the relaxing qualities of the property. Unfortunately I didnt get there until later in the evening.
Nothing but perfection! Booked it for my parents and they had wonderful time while staying at this hotel. Great selection of breakfast food from hot dishes to cold selection. Very nice ambiance for wine hour, with good selection of cheeses, baked goods, etc. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who is visiting Yosemite Park! Amazing staff, service and location!
My friends and I stayed here recently and we loved it! We needed a place close to Yosemite National Park and this hotel was perfect. It’s proximity to restaurants and cafes downtown help made the trip even smoother! The room was clean and comfortable, and staff was receptive to our needs no matter when we asked. Can’t wait to come back!
We stayed there on our trip to Yosemite and loved it. We were in the Summerhouse which was spacious, spotless, great view, had a nice queen bed with comfortable bedding. Lots of details which included water, coffee, robes, slippers, bath bombs, even a special “make-up” towel to remove makeup.The staff was excellent with great service and friendly. They served a free breakfast with several choices. I had Artichoke goat cheese frittata and my husband had an amazing breakfast sandwich with fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was so nice and I recommend it!
Small an luxury hotel of the world indeed. The hotel has only 12 different room. Staffs are lovely and helpful.Waters and sandwiches in the fridge are available 24 hrs.Privacy is luxury. I would love to come again.
This was such a lovely place to stay the night before a Yosemite reservation began. Its a 25min drive into the park through the South Gate entrance into the Wawona area, but there are usually lines to contend with, so its still something to consider about staying outside the park. That said, the room was clean and cozy, the reception staff friendly, and the location nearby gas stations, groceries, and restaurants.
The hotel was great! It was full of charm and was nicely laid out.Very conveniently located and oh so romantic feeling!We encourage all who are considering going to this beautiful little gem to treat yourself to the total package in luxury hotels!! We are sure glad we did!!
Such a cute and comfy bed and breakfast! My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights when we were visiting Yosemite. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Also the food was great! No complaints
Really clean, nice place. Stayed in two rooms over two nights, both had a jacuzzi spa tub that was awesome. Lots of windows, good climate control, and comfy beds. Super clean. The breakfast was awesome and made to order from a different selection every day with vegan and vegetarian options. About an hour or so from the Yosemite Valley, which is about as close as you can get to the Valley without staying inside the park itself. Oakhurst is a cool little town with nice places to eat and the drive to Yosemite is okay, though very winding roads, but that entrance through the tunnel is the best way to enter for the amazing view right out of the gate. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it!
The perfect place to stay if you’re planning a trip to Yosemite or if you just need a sweet “getaway”. The staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout the entire booking process and stay. The room was SO comfortable featuring a king bed, fireplace, and a jacuzzi tub. After a long day of hiking, we came back to relax and especially enjoyed the wine hour featuring delicious homemade snacks and wine. Homemade breakfast in the morning was a plus too! We will recommend this place to everyone we know visiting Yosemite, and we hope to return in the future! Absolutely adored every aspect of it. As my husband said “this place is a 10/10!”
We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it! Our room was quite spacious, cozy, and absolutely clean. The breakfast was delicious with much more variation than the typical hotel breakfast you get everywhere (fresh fruit salad, eggs, frittata, etc). We also enjoyed the complimentary wine and tapas/snacks in the evening. All staff were super friendly as well. Really recommend staying here if you want to to visit Yosemite or the area!
This is not your traditional B&B, and somehow I came away from the website expecting it to be a B&B.. We like to stay at B&Bs in order to get to know our hosts and fellow guests while enjoying a more cozy atmosphere. That is not what youll find here, as this is actually a 12 room small luxury hotel. Dont get me wrong, it is very nice, albeit a bit expensive. Book through online venues to save some money. The general manager, while very nice and friendly, was also the chef, so he stayed quite busy. The atmosphere was not conducive to good conversations between guests. It was more like that of a breakfast room at a Hampton Inn. The food was much more DELICIOUS, but the atmosphere of a true B&B was missing, not surprising since its actually an hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean and well stocked. The bed was a bit firm for our tastes, but it didnt keep us from sleeping. It was conveniently located near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park.
Great location rooms very comfortable and breakfast was superb. We asked for breakfast to go and the chef made us a lovely takeaway breakfast. Wine and snacks in the evening were great whilst chatting with other guests.
We stayed at Hounds Tooth Inn just one night for a weekend getaway, and wanted to stay longer! The room was cute and clean, with a fun little welcome treat. We enjoyed the snacks available downstairs as well as the free continental breakfast in the morning. The location on the northern side of Oakhurst was convenient for our trips up into Yosemite, and the price made it a great deal for the area. Hounds Tooth is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and its a cross between just that, a small, luxury hotel and a friendly, local bed & breakfast. The staff were all so nice and welcoming, and we cant wait to go back!
Overall this is a great place. The rooms are updated and nice, the grounds are clean and calm. We had an issue on one night with the water from the well and the owner helped us through it and was very accommodating. I would give it 5 stars if it wasnt for the water event (which was not in their control but still impacted our say). We will look to this place again when we come back to Yosemite.
This small hotel provides great value. The room was newly renovated and clean, complimentary cocktail hour and breakfast were well done. You definitely get a lot of perks for the price! A little far from the park if you are booking as part of a trip to Yosemite, but it worked out great for our last night before heading back to SF.My biggest issue was that it took ages to find an employee to help check us in and out, which after a long day of hiking in Yosemite it was a big pain. I also booked through a third party and had issues with them honoring my original reservation. The woman I spoke to in the morning, however, took care of figuring out what went wrong and providing a refund in a very timely manner.
Sweet little family run business. Room wasnt ready when we got there but that gave us a chance to grab dinner at South gate brewing company as per recommended! Room was elegant and quaint! We had the Willow corner with a private spa tub (fit two side by side!) And our own private patio! Was perfect! Biscuits were pretty hard and the bowls were already used for my oatmeal but otherwise perfect and just what we needed to reset before our camping and hiking adventure in Yosemite! Thanks
Im not one to post reviews online, but our experience here was so wonderful! My boyfriend and I stayed in a gorgeous room with a fireplace and jacuzzi. Roger was very welcoming, and had breakfast / evening wine reception ready each day! Perfect and cozy spot after a long day of hiking. Would stay a million more times! :-)
This was a great little hotel we stayed at while visiting Yosemite National Park over a long three day weekend. The location allows for quick access to the park while also being close to some great restaurants in town. The Inn has a fantastic breakfast and happy hour, all of which is included. While the rooms are a bit smaller than a typical hotel they remain comfortable and perfect for our needs.
Very nice lodge, very comfortable and well appointed rooms, great breakfast and evening appetizers and wine, all around great place to stay. Id have given five stars but when we went to check in, the reservation we made was not honored. Being it was our first anniversary we were very disappointed that the manager didnt seem to care one bit, no effort was made to correct the situation and no explanation was offered. We paid a top rate for a very nice room and were given a basic one that the gas fireplace, which was the only perk of the room, didnt even work. An example of how to not care about your customer service and in the process create a very unpleasant experience. The nice appetizers and wine in the evening and breakfast served were excellent, but really disappointed that our celebration of our wedding anniversary was pretty much spoiled by not honoring the reservation made. Just beware of the old bait and switch, what you expect may not be what you get.
We had a wedding in Bass Lake. This hotel was 10 mins away. Small hotel with great customer service. Breakfast was included and it was good. Rooms were very clean. I would stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality.
I stayed one night there on a Saturday and the hostess Any was an absolutely delightful! She welcomed us as soon as we walked in and gave us some information on the room and what to do around the area. Our room was very nice and cozy. The bed was big and was pretty soft! We definitely took advantage of the jacuzzi tub that was in the room and relaxed after a long day in Oakhurst! The breakfast in the morning was super yummy and made to order! Over all a fantastic place for a good price!
This was a truly wonderful place to stay. Everything was neat and clean just as the pictures show. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and all amenities were perfect. We dont have any plans to return to the Yosemite area any time soon, but should that change, well definitely be coming back to the Hounds Tooth Inn!!!
We had such an amazing time staying here. The hospitality and warmth was exceptional. We loved the room (esp. the fireplace), the wine in the evening and the made-to-order breakfast!! I would give five stars if the entrance light is not broken. The hotel is on the hillside, when we get out Yosemite we couldnt see the entrance on the left, so we have to go further to the town and return back to it. The place is near south entrance of Yosemite. Great environment, really cozy rooms and the breakfast is amazing! Highly recommend.
Very relaxing atmosphere. The room is well furnished and the welcoming is warm. breakfast is awesome (French toasts and pancakes homemade) and it comes with a lot of tips before your day trip in Yosemite !!
Host was so hospitable, and inviting despite us having to leave at 5am he left breakfast out so we could grab something before we left! Plus gave us a bottle of wine at night as we missed wine and cheese. Gorgeous inn and would highly recommend to everyone going to Yosemite area. Thanks again!

19 May 2016. We had a very comfortable corner turret bedroom with a built in Jacuzzi! The family running the hotel were an absolute delight and could not do enough for us. Continental breakfast was perfect for our needs as we set onwards to Yosemite.
Our one night stay at Hounds Tooth Inn ( our second time there) was wonderful. Spacious, clean room, excellent and friendly staff, food was outstanding! A Thanksgiving spread of delicious food, followed by delicious breakfast...Will definitely stay again.

Staffs are super nice! Room is clean and bright. And there are always complimentary foods and beverages in the lobby. Besides, the location is very convenient for driving to Yosemite National Park.
The rooms are newly redecorated and are spacious and comfortable. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly. The chef is terrific, and the snacks, evening wine and appetizers, and breakfast were all delicious. I highly recommend Hounds Tooth Inn.
Couldnt decide between 3 and 4 stars. Nice place but starting to show its age a little. Dont plan on walking anywhere, but it is a convenient drive to food, services, and Yosemite or Bass Lake. Hot breakfast was ok, but a lot of cold options. Get a room with a spa tub... Nice retreat for couples.
My wife I and had prepared our plan to come out here alone for the Christmas holiday we choose Hound tooth in because it sound like the perfect place but once we checked in we realized theres no hot water in this place so we packed up and went home ! Our Christmas plan was ruined . And $321 dollars down the drain .
Run by a professional chef she provides that extra personal touch to what we all think a B and B should be. Nice surroundings, comfy rooms, wine and cheese hour and a wonderful breakfast that is hard to forget. On your way to Yosemite NP, this is a great place to stop and relax and have a memorable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cozy inn on the north side of Oakhurst. Our room had just been redecorated and was just the right mix of soothing and cheery. Anthony the innkeeper/chef and Myra made us feel welcome and took care of anything we needed with a smile. Anthonys breakfast creations were fabulous and filling, and the evening wine tasting was a great way to relax and socialize with other guests. Can not wait to return!

In general the Inn is very nice! Our room was amazing, there was a very nice tub on it, the bathroom was good and everything looked clean. Around 5pm there was a wine reception with some fruits, crackers, cheese, all very nice. The only reason I removed 2 stars is because I was not able to sleep well during the night. The room was in the front part of the inn, so everytime someone arrived I could hear the noise of them closing the door, the car passing over the rocks, I could hear the cars on the highway, it was terrible, I could barely sleep that night. Maybe a room more in the back of the Inn wont have this same problem.
My wife and I stayed in Yosemite and hiked around for 3 days and luckily had this place booked on the tail end of our trip to recoup and relax. Very friendly staff, very good breakfast, and the facilities were on par for the cost per night.
The breakfast and the service is a 10 star service plus you get free drinks, lemon and cranberry juice is available all day plus free water and pepsi not like other hotels where you have nothing. The owner is super friendly and this small hotel is definitely better than all the hotels in the areaThe area where you will have your breakfast is a home style where you really feel relaxed and its definitely one of the best hotel i have ever been into definitely coming backGood Job!!
Good accommodation for the price and quite close to Yosemite (about 1.5 hours). The included breakfast was better than we would expect for an included breakfast. The only negative would be that some of the rooms are a bit dated.
Very nice BnB, clean rooms, and wonderful views from the inn. The breakfast was also quite delicious and filling. The only problem i encountered was incomplete toiletries in the bathroom.... shower gel dispenser had not been filled. Having said that, great experience overall and would definitely visit again.
Great place! We love it so much and should the time bring us back to Oakhurst, we will definitely choose this place. Love the summer house the way it is arranged and suited our family of 5. The orange juice and quiche in the morning really warmed us. Delicious!
My wife and I stayed here on our way to Yosemite. The people were friendly, great breakfast options, we slept well however the fridge in the room did make some noise.We would stay here again and we recommend it.
A really lovely place to stay....close to Big tree stable and the Sequoia place.We spend 2 nights and it was perfect....a nice welcoming, nice breakfast, big room.... feeling like at home. Dont hesitate to stay.
The worst experience that I ever had in my life. I spent over $400 to come and stay here at my birthday. The receptionist was super rude in the check out. And she said that we smoked marijuana in the room and it was complains so they want to charge me additional $150. Well, that’s a very generous birthday gift, especially knowing the fact that I didn’t smoke anything here!!!!

Amazing place where you can feel everything is made with love. Homie ambiance, great scenery and must try brownies made by pastry chef Anthony! I’ve never felt so relaxed after one night’s sleep.Will definitely want to come back!
Not handicapped accessible. I made the reservation in early April. I called the staff at their local 559 number to confirm accessibility (ground floor accommodations) and a private bathroom. The woman I spoke to said there would be no problem. I let them know that neither of us could climb stairs. My husband is on crutches and has Cerebral Palsy. I walk with a cane and have spasticity and swelling in both legs. I got there and my requests were not honored. The woman knew I booked through AARP/Expedia and the fees were nonrefundable. She said that she gave all the ground floor rooms away to Yosemite hikers that week. I asked for help with our luggage and was told there was no one to assist us. We went to dinner and came back and were 3/4 of the way dragging a heavy suitcase and toiletries bag up the stairs step-by-step, when the woman told us we could have a room at their other property, but we would have to call them, pay again for that room, and then try to get our money back for their first room from Expedia/AARP. We were shocked at this lack of effort to assist us. We had paperwork clearly stating no refunds on their first room. We declined this effort to get another room payment out of us. My husband was visibly frustrated with the stairs and we noted they would not help us with our luggage. The woman then sniped that she would now assist us, but we had our bags up the stairs at that point. She seemed very angry and said we were liars about requesting accommodations beforehand. We assumed she had just booked our current room to someone else and wanted us to leave, but we had struggled to get our luggage up the stairs without falling and had prepaid for our room, so we were staying. We got to our outdated (late 70’s styled room in mauve) with dingy soiled furniture and pealing wall paper, and we went straight to sleep. Some appliance woke us up on the hour with gurgling and hissing noises. It was four o’clock, and we decided to just get up early and leave, since we could not sleep soundly. The water was bitter and sulfury (not drinkable-possibly toxic), so we choked down our pills and went to check out. We were told there were night staff, but there was nobody there on duty. We used the phone on the wall by the front desk to attempt to check out and got a hostile man who said checkout was 8AM. We said we were leaving early and wanted a receipt (since they had taken my credit card number previously). He was hostile and said they would charge us if we trashed the room and he would not check me out until 8AM. I noted I would take pictures of the room before we left, because of the comments he made on the phone. He barked at me to leave the key on the front desk. At breakfast, locals noted that they probably did not want to honor the Expedia agreement (they get a portion of the fee) and did want to get the extra fee out of us, knowing we could not get reimbursed for the first room. We talked to our credit card about the experience, and they suggested closing the account, because they had our credit card information and seemed angry and bitter. It was an unfriendly experience.
Beautiful Inn, the room with the fireplace was amazing, the breakfast and the wine and cheese in the afternoon were great addition. Very close to the Yosemite park. Great place to stay!
We asked three times for a hairdryer and get refused first two times - the man said he’s retiring today so don’t bother him. Are you serious? My hair is wet right now. Btw my hair is below waist. We finally did get it.The next morning, after we checked out, I realized that I left my wool guardian there. But the maid said twice, conclusively, that she has not seen any clothing, and said that she would call me back once she find anything. I have never stopped between my home and this hotel. If I left it somewhere, it must be here. The tone she replied me sounds very certain that she’s not gonna find it anywhere in the hotel and she doesn’t need to call me back, “I’m positive.”Interestingly, she never ask for my phone number or name. I wonder how she’s gonna call me back.
Great place, great position (20 min from the south gate entrance of the Yosemite) but what I like most of all it is the breakfast! Amazing! Also the people working there are very gentle and helpful. I totaliy suggest this place

The Hounds Tooth Inn is a great place to stay. The location, the facility and the food that is served, is topped only by the staff. Anthony can make anything, and between treats during the day, the spread he puts out in the early evening and the breakfasts he serves, he proves it.

I stayed at this place for a few nights for the Yosemite National Park (YNP). Overall, the room was clean and the service was decent. The breakfast was simple and nice (see attached photo). A few observations/suggestions:-Considering that there have been a lot more visitors to YNP and theres a long line getting in recently, this place does not feel as close to the park as before.-The room itself was not small but the nightstands and the washbasin area were tiny.-I wish more surface area near the hotel (e.g., the parking lot, the entrance place by the main road) was paved.

- It is a 12-room boutique hotel.- I stayed for 3 nights in room number 10.- The room was small as was the bed and the shower. They are very uncomfortable.- Large towels are given to you in a number, one per person. You have to be asking for more towels.- The hotel has a family atmosphere, it could be considered suitable for children, however, the rooms are very small and somewhat uncomfortable.- They have Wi-Fi with a medium signal.- If you have reduced mobility and/or are in a wheelchair, I tell you that access and mobility within the place is highly difficult. The spaces are very small. To get to the rooms you have to use stairs. I didnt see any wheelchair access ramps.- The place was visibly clean, however, it lacks a lot of maintenance and paint, some parts of the outside of the hotel are rusty, likewise, the room I stayed in had the sink covered, the water was stagnant.- At the reception entrance there is a plaque that says that the hotel is in the category of small luxury hotels of the world and the reality is that it is only small, not luxury.- The service in general was good.- They have some board games that you can use.- This hotel includes a la carte breakfast.- As for the taste of the food, I will tell you that it was average.- Service at breakfast was fast.- Parking is small and free. It has a couple of places for electric cars.
Unfortunately we were only here for one night in transit, we would have loved to stay longer. Totally comfortable and relaxed here, everything is well maintained and clean. Highly recommended, a must if youre in the area. Much nicer than the big hotel chains. Definitely stay here longer. Drinks and snacks are available free of charge 24 hours a day. So great.

When we checked in, we were directly upgraded to a single-family cabin.If you come for more than a week, I really recommend staying in a cabin.🤎All other room types are in the same building as the lobby, which is very convenient🤎As soon as I entered the room, I saw that the service staff had already helped turn on the fireplace. It was super warm!🤎The room is equipped with a hairdryer and bath products. Because of environmental protection, no toothbrush is provided. The bathroom also has heating, the water pressure is stable, it does not get hot and cold, and the drainage is good.🤎Kitchen in the cabin: equipped with refrigerator, water heater, microwave and oven🤎The bed is great!💯The conclusion is that it is highly recommended💯
We stayed at Hounds Tooth Inn during a road trip. The hotel is about 1 hour from Yosemite National Park and was the perfect location for us after visiting Sequoia National Park during the day. Everything was very lovingly and personally furnished. Price-performance was very good!
I cant understand bad reviews of 2 stars. We ended up at the Hound Tooth Inn on our road trip. And there were a few points that stood out: upon arrival there was a sweet present in the room including a personalized welcome card. Small portions of bath foam were available for the hot tub in the room. In the evening there was free wine and a cheese plate. You cant actually enjoy breakfast in American hotels, but here everything was lovingly prepared in a great buffet. Simply great and gladly again!
A charming hotel, they have achieved a homely atmosphere where the staff is totally welcoming and has taken care of even the smallest detail. They offered us a drink in their living room as soon as we arrived, and they prepared a good breakfast for us the next morning. We only stayed one night, on the way to Yosemite, but we were very happy. Totally recommended
What a magnificent place. Small setting at the south exit of the particularly pleasant Park. Careful and warm welcome. Very high quality services. Attention to detail. Very good breakfast and aperitif dinner offered every evening from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. also very pleasant. Truly a very beautiful address which enchanted our stay.
During our road trip stopover on the way to Las Vegas. After San Francisco, this accommodation was a successful rest. The atmosphere is inviting and makes you feel good. Tea, coffee, various cold drinks and pastries throughout, snacks for wine tasting in the evening - all included. Breakfast far exceeds the classic American breakfast (also in comparison to the hotels we have visited so far). The chef and probably also the owner has a lot of charm and a very pleasant, accommodating charisma.The rooms are lovingly furnished, beds are very comfortable. In addition, it smells pleasant and fresh everywhere.We would have liked to have spent one more day here.Thanks for the short break. This accommodation is unique in this area. Its like being at home. It has approximately 12 rooms and also a cottage for 5 or 6 people (ideal for a family). The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. In reality everything is very neat. The main room serves as a dining room. Breakfast is simple, but complete (scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, bacon or bacon, fruit salad, cakes, brownies, biscuits, coffee, cream, various teas, etc.). It has a small garden on one side of the house with some patio tables, as well as a gazebo, ideal for having breakfast or simply enjoying a drink. You can also open the refrigerator and help yourself to whatever you want, as I said before, its like at home. The staff is very friendly and the service very efficient. It has parking and the environment around it is very quiet. It is a 4 star home. Best experience? . . . almost impossible. . .
A very comfortable transit hotel. It has a very cozy lounge with a kind of 24-hour buffet with the possibility of having a glass of wine, or a soft drink, or a coffee... Also a series of sweet or savory foods to accompany the drink.The room was very warm with the cold outside.
It is about 15 minutes from the park exit. and 5 minutes from town. You can walk to a Mexican restaurant further down.At night they leave you wine so you can pour yourself a few drinks if you want. We helped ourselves to one and sat on the chairs on the porch to look at the stars.There was free wifi. The breakfast was not bad.
The following points of criticism:- Bathroom outdated, two rooms of four both had identical, bathtub and sink both with brown stains and limescale urgently need to be replaced- Breakfast poor, with little choice, hardly any bread, one type of toast, no alternatives- Locks broken, room doors extremely difficult to open, no safe- Hotel very far away from Yosemite, you have to get up extremely early on long hikes (we did Clouds Rest).
This hotel was a great surprise! Very good! Cozy and welcoming! Very good breakfast and always in the late afternoon there is a reception with wine and some snacks. It was quite cold but both the room and reception had a fireplace and heater. Without a doubt, I recommend it and would stay again.
I chose this place mainly for the large hot tub. We arrived and it was dirty and the drain wouldnt close. I wouldnt go back there again.

2024-04-15 20:20:56This is an excellent that is close to the South Gate to Yosemite National Park and still close to all the restaurants in Oakhurst.The employees are great here. We always had excellent service. The breakfast in the mornings was great.The rooms were nice, well maintained, and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet for a refreshing nights sleep.They also have 2 Tesla chargers and 1 standard level 2 charger that was free to use.

2024-02-26 16:39:53Stayed here for our Yosemite trip in late February. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the hotel staff was incredibly friendly and room had everything you could need. The included breakfast was the cherry on top (way better than any hotel breakfast I’ve had). The drive to the South Gate entrance of the park was only 25 ish minutes! Plenty of restaurants around and close to bass lake.

Undergoing renovations but didn’t hear them during most of stay.Main registration/common area is very nice. Wine, fruit and cheese offering in the evening was nice and gave a great chance to meet other travelers. Breakfast was very good with a variety of offerings.Private room with a private bathroom.I would not consider this luxury but it’s a bed and breakfast so maybe more of what you’d expect from that.Close to Yosemite south entrance so was great for us.

2023-10-21 18:09:40This is a great place to stay for Yosemite, being only a short drive away from the park entrance.When you arrive youre told to treat it like your home. Theres coffee in the common room area, where you have breakfasts. Theres food always out if you want to snack too. And theres definitely that homely feel to it.The room was good and the bed comfortable. But it was a little tired and the whirlpool bath a little odd to see! Thats not to detract from the overall experience but a little work on the rooms and this would be amazing.Driving down into Hounds Tooth Inn is easy. Getting out is a little sketchy if you want to head into Oakhurst. Youre just after quite a hard right turn, which means that traffic coming out of town is on top of you very quickly.Wed love to return to Yosemite and Hounds Tooth is definitely top of our list for somewhere to stay.

2023-08-29 21:17:05My husband and I had reservations for 2 nights in sequoia and 2 nights in Yosemite. But changed plans to get close to Yosemite for our 2nd night. I googled lodging outside YNP and LUCKILY came across Hound Tooth Inn. Absolutely the cleanest, most comfortable place we’ve ever stayed. Check in was fast and very easy. The rooms are spotless and have ever you need. The reception was fun and the food and wine delicious. I will stay here every time we visit Yosemite.

Would recommend staying here rather than the expensive park hotels which dont have value for money. the drive to the park is nice and part of the experience.

Room was very clean, area was beautiful, everything was close by, there’s even a good indian Resturant by 4 minutes drive ( other food chains as well including subway).Breakfast was delicious, it was the best breakfast we had on our two week’s trip.What actually stood out was front desk Manager Myra, she was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. She made us feel very comfortable and at home.Would definitely be staying here if we plan to come back to Yosemite or nearby area.
