You sit in booths if you end up on the sun-facing right side of the restaurant so theres some privacy but even crying kids can seep through that. Even with the black shades the sun is harsh on your body in addition to the heat from the hot pots. Bring a fan and thank me later. I was lucky I brought my handheld fan. The drawback is coming early to seat sooner or later and waiting but at least you dont have to eat in the scorching sun.The service from the guy with the mask was good. He quickly got the empty plates out of the way and took our order when we needed more. I think it got so busy though that we ended up asking for our last sides 3 times and it was forgotten for awhile. When we got the sides they were clumped onto one plate so there was less quantity but maybe it was a blessing since we went through 4 plates of meat per person with veggies and noodles.The booth we were in had issues. When you sat down you slumped into the seat like the cushion was coming apart. Almost fell through the seat.There are 3 menus but we went with the cheapest at $22 per person. Highly recommend the pork belly and veggie tempura. Glass noodles come with the most expensive menu with the most options. The gyoza looked like it was deep fried.Dont forget to have some dessert before you take off. There are 2 ice cream choices: Green Tea or Black Cherry. The table got the former and it was the best way to top off the meal.

I had a good time overall.I do recommend getting normal seats instead of a booth if you have something you want to set down and/ or are short. It was pretty uncomfortable holding onto my belongings and trying to scoot my chair as close as possible to the bar.The food was good and really filling. I thought I could go more round but was already struggling on the 2nd round.I do feel like we were rushed even though we didnt come in near closing time. I made sure to come in 3 hours beforehand and only planned to stay for about an hour. It was also odd despite them not taking away any of our empty plates, even when I organized it all to one place.Other than that, they were very quick to hand out our order once they got to us, which I appreciate.I dont know if I would come in at the same time, but I would like to come again, maybe, late afternoon to prevent feeling rushed, as I did enjoy the food.

I absolutely love this spot! The atmosphere inside is fun with great music and super friendly and helpful staff. The all you can eat is a great deal and I love that you can also get extra cooked items like tempura, chicken wings, and edamame. The sushi is also great!

Great food. Hands down the best hot pot place Ive ever been to, and Ive been to more than a few. The food was excellent, the price was more than reasonable compared to other places, the service was very fast, and the broth and sauces were some of the tastiest Ive had. The best part is its all you can eat in 90 minuets, and it comes with ice cream!

What happened to the shabu sushi? The sauce tasted COMPLETELY different, not in a good way. Very disappointing when you do not order anything else but that (no other appetizers and no other sushis). Please go back to the old sauce. There should be a disclaimer for people who are regular customers and are expecting something different what they are used to.

Ive been to the Irvine location and was so happy to see they have a location closer to my place. Im a huge fan of the sukiyaki with Angus and beef belly. Sushi is good and Im always very particular with my tuna and gotta say it was delicious.

House of Shabu Shabu (OG and II) is my favorite shabu shabu!Ive been going to the original one since college! Well over a decade.The owner Harry is a sweetheart.I definitely recommend this place to anyone if you are in the area.Make sure you try the Shabu sushi. Its addicting!Lots of meat and non meat options for everyone.

As a long time regular of House of Shabu Shabu Irvine for five years, I can definitely say this location is just as good, if not better. Also, so glad this place is closer to me and I dont have to drive thirty minutes anymore for the Irvine location.Heres the breakdownInside: They have a nice, modern, and trendy feel to it, no old timely feel. They have many seating options from the side with two-seaters, the front accommodating up to four people, the back for the bigger crowds and the bar giving it a more authentic Japanese shabu feel.Service: I honestly would recommend dining with Alex and Andrew because even though it was the manager that took care of us, they still came to check up on us. Alex made sure we had everything we needed and was very nice and down to earth.Food: This place has my favorite dipping sauces ponzu and goma. I have yet to find a place that beats out their sauces AND they make it in house. Ponzu is your perfect light sweet and tangy soy sauce perfect for your veggies and meat, while goma has a nice thick nutty flavor perfect for your meats. The Kobe here I would have to say is so tender and soft. It pretty much melts in your mouth and the pork loin has the perfect amount of flavor and juiciness. As far as in sushi, salmon and shabu sushi all the way mannn. I also really love how they have so much more sushi options at this location, because honestly, if I wanted to get a sushi fix here, I would.Price: Pricing wise, I have yet to find a place thats cheaper here. Cmon $13 lunch special ayce?? For shabu??? And you sushi??? Where can you find a better place that has a wide broth selection and meat. For this visit, me and my friend decided to order the special 3 menu which is their premium menu for $30 and its so worth!!This place would also be a good place for larger crowds, but I would definitely call ahead and make sure they can accommodate. We’ve long been fans of the original location in Irvine, so we were excited to see that they were taking over a spot in our neighborhood. We had eaten in the physical location before, but the combination of elements didn’t seem to work. I think they may have finally found the right mix with this new ownership and management.The menu has two main options: ala carte or all you can eat. There were tiers within the AYCE option. The one bummer is your whole party must choose the same option, but it’s understandable from an operational standpoint. The prices are good and there are plenty of choices if you opt for the all you can eat.One noticeable difference from many other shabu restaurants was the number of broth options available. They ranged from simple and slightly sweet (sukiyaki), to rich and creamy (tonkotsu) or spicy (spicy miso). There were at least 8 options to chose from!Once you’ve chosen your broth, you select your protein(s). Our group opted for the ala carte and found the 5oz portion to be sufficient if you’re not too hungry. The angus was a decent cut but the rib eye was definitely more delicate and tender.Finally you can choose your noodle type: classic udon, ramen, or Korean kalguksu (knife cut)noodles. I had the kalguksu and was impressed with its chewy texture. I also tasted the ramen option which I would also have enjoyed.As the broth boils you add your vegetables and/or protein to create what will become your soup for your noodles.The veggie mix bowl was fresh and colorful and included nice blend of cabbage, kale, carrots, etc.I almost forgot about the dipping sauces! They were really good as well. The goma (sesame) paste was thick and savory and the ponzu was light and balanced (citrus-soy).The service was friendly and attentive and the decor is fresh and modern. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the broth options. There are so many potential combinations!Bravo on what hopefully will be a lasting recipe for a great shabu spot!PS The $3 draft Kirin was a added bonus!

My boyfriend and I have been having dates here since we moved to the area a few years ago. The staff is always kind and polite and we like trying the suggestions they give us. The house broth is delicious. Everything else is fresh and yummy too! The little scoop of ice cream at the end is always the perfect amount. We absolutely recommend this place!

It was pretty good the first time I came in 2019.But when I came again recently with high hopes, I was left quite disappointed.The broth, veggies, meat and noodles were all great. But when it came to sides, the sushi and the calamari were terrible. For the sushis I ordered, the rice was very dry (it felt hard compared to other sushi) and chewy; I also told one of the staff about it, and he seemed dismissive about it.Then the batter of the calamari was undercooked, still soggy.Maybe Ill come by again some day.

It was my first time coming here. This place is not a huge place but it is okay. We were sitting at the back of the restaurant and it wasnt during the busy hours, thats why I was able to take this pictures. The overall atmosphere was decent, and the service was good. My party had a good time there. This is a all you can eat Korean restaurant. Their prices is really reasonable and I like their menu. I didnt look for fancy stuff here but what I could find served the purpose of having a good meal with my family. I dont give 5 stars this time is because of the restroom.

When a 30 min wait turns into almost an hour wait even though we were second in line. -sigh- what a night of hungry tummies.Service was ok, but couldve gone a little smoother because after we were seated and waiting hungrily to order, there was some wait time before we were able to order and even wait longer for the stuff to arrive. Getting the attention of the staff was a task in itself. Maybe that was my stomach talking but it was true. This is one of those times I wish a restaurant would implement the qr code ordering service so I could just scan for the table Im at and place my order and receive it in minutes without having to wave down the server to come by after times gone by before placing the order.Meat was pretty decent quality and so was the broth. Sometimes I find it amusing when we get the last of something because my veggie platter had napa and my gf didnt so I had to wave down the waiter to ask about it and turns out, they were out of napa for the evening. I found that funny because in this plaza is a 99 ranch grocery store and Ive bought napa from there before so it just amusing a restaurant running out of one of the basic things. Mustve been a busy busy night. Took much time to flag down the waiter after each meat order was complete so I had to constantly adjust the heat so I didnt have a rolling boil and boil off all the soup when not in use.My only dislike was I thought the california roll had a slight sour taste like ponzu but no ailments the next day so I will chalk it up to meh maybe my imagination. They do provide ponzu soy sauce so thats why I thought the california roll interestingly tasted a little sour.

We love coming to this House of Shabu Shabu. We were regulars at the original house of shabu shabu in Irvine, but started coming House of Shabu Shabu II once it opened since they have shorter wait times and are slightly closer to us. We always have great service when we come, they are very accommodating for our 1.5 year old son. The options for all you can eat are great! We LOVE all the different types of broths they offer. Be prepared for everyone at the table to have to order the same All you can eat option, if someone wants all you can eat. They make you do this to prevent food sharing with those who dont order all you can eat, which makes sense. We definitely recommend checking out House of Shabu Shabu II if you are wanting Shabu.

Every time we come here we leave so happy. One of the best AYCE options out there. I always feel so gross after AYCE sushi and kbbq but with shabu shabu it’s so much lighter and you still have the sushi rolls on the side as well. The #2 has halal options and they’re so good! Getting the ice cream at the end of the meal is the best ending and the service is always amazing. We came on a Sunday night this time around and didn’t even end up having to wait which was nice. We’ll always come back here for a nice date night.

The Wagyu was great the service was amazing.My wife and I hadnt been to a restaurant for while. My wife was very anxious, being around so many people. Our server was the best.My wife ordered the spicy house broth. It was much to spicy for her. I asked our server if we could swap it out and our server politely told us Its usually extra to swap broths, but well do it this time for free.My wife was having trouble using the chop sticks to fish out the food out of the broth and our server brought us a spoon.Amazing service. Its a good shabu shabu place. We went for dinner--while the wait was pretty long (on a Sunday night!), I like that the manager (owner?) was nice enough to let us know that we would have a slightly longer wait as the four-person tables had only recently been occupied. He gave us an option to sit at the bar or split our group in two, but thankfully a table opened up soon after.Unfortunately though since the wait was long we were a bit close to last call; some stuff had already run out (we wanted to try the sukiyaki broth but they ran out). I settled for the spicy garlic, which was actually pretty tasty.Meat was pretty good. Sauce was just ok. We couldnt try the other sauce as it had peanuts (two in our party had allergies), so be sure to ask if youre similarly affected). The rolls were decent--i had the crunch roll which was pretty basic. We didnt want to spend an additional 10 bucks or so for the highest tier of meats and sides, so couldnt speak to the quality of the sushi, but I imagine its basic as well. Chicken wings were excellent though.Service was okay--they did forget certain orders. I had to ask twice for our noodles, and they werent as attentive with refilling drinks. It *was* close to last call, so I let it slide.Overall its pretty good, and the basic tier of $21 was well-priced. I also liked that they gave ice cream with your check (butter pecan and salted caramel). I wouldnt mind coming back.

We traveled quite a ways to reach this place and when we arrived they said they are closed due to being understaffed.While my group did understand the staff member and he was apologetic for it, I will still give this place an ok review due to not having a backup plan to this situation. Awesome service. Great food, tasty house broth and fresh sushi, could you ask for anything else? Yes, yes I can all well paired with an Asahi beer. This place has a la carte entrees as well as sushi. They do also have an all you can eat which involve shabu shabu, sushi and apps. You can really get enough of it, I normally do enjoy Miso but our waitress recommended their house broth which is more like beef bone broth super tasty. Had Cali roll and spicy tuna roll, followed by tempura calamari ( a must) and had the beef belly for my shabu, everything was awesome and the service was superb. They offer a more extensive all you can eat with more sushi and shabu options. Its up to you now. Enjoy!!

Table was dirty even after they cleaned it. Food particles and stains remained so I wet some napkins and wipes it myself. Staff and owner saw me cleaning the table but did not say anything... Fairly good broth and food choices. Our server went outside to chat with others so we were without food for a while. My fingers were all swollen this morning so probably too much sodium in the food?

This used to be my favorite shabu shabu spot but they went through ownership changes. I thought that maybe the all you can eat option they now offer would be better but the quality has gone downhill.
