Great food. Their name in Chinese means double-take delicious, which is just too cute! Takeout only. There are two small tables outside. Includes a parking lot. Food came out quickly. Their steamed dumplings are very tasty. The hui tou special is decent, through it tastes a little oily/fried. Also got the pork belly noodle, a bit too salty but still had great flavor.

This place is takeout only, it’s still worth it. I was hoping to dine in but they didn’t offer that. I can understand since the pandemic things are changing. We got it all to go and bought some drinks at Paris baguette and I usually don’t do this but we ate at the table there and cleaned up after ourselves when we were done. Now to the food, the hui tou dumplings are fantastic, one of the best dumplings I have ever had. Beef noodle soup is really good, texture of handmade noodle is nice and chewy. Woodear mushrooms are great and they give a big portion. Spicy wonton dumplings were solid too. I plan to try all the dumpling spots in sgv and Rowland heights, this place beats bafang dumplings.

From left to right and top to bottom, passion fruit lemonade, lychee lemonade, three flavor dumplings, pork shumai, 2x pork xiao long bao, chicken pot stickers, minced pork noodles, spicy wontons and wood ear mushroom.I would say pork xiao long bao doesn’t beat DTF. I think the experience of slurping the soup from the xiao long bao in a spoon is a experience you can’t take away and I did not feel that same experience eating the dumplings from Hui Tou Xiang. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still good and the chili oil is a must try, so it’s a place to stop by if you’re in the area.

Read an article from the LA times about the best dumplings in San Gabriel Valley. Come across Hui Tou Xiang, I have been going to that plaza for a long time, but never occur to me to try this place. I tried all other restaurants except this. But today, I am determined to give it a try, and WOW!!!! Their dumplings are amazing, I ordered Pork and Leek Pancakes, Pork Potstickers, Fish Potstickers, Pork Xiao Long Bao and Spicy Mixed Noodles. My wife and son absolutely loved them. My son usually doesnt eat leek, but he actually wants to try the pork leek pancake and falls in love with it. My wife and I are amazed. According to him, the no. 1 is Xiao Long Bao, no. 2 is Pork and Leek Pancakes, no. 3 Fish Potstickers and no. 4 is the Pork Potstickers.

I’ve been dying to try this place (as I love to try new places that offer Taiwanese style beef noodle soup. This place was so good. The noodles in the soup were chewy and had a nice bounce, homemade and were cooked perfectly. The house special dumplings (the rectangular ones) were amazing. The filling was seasoned and flavorful, the skin was thin but crispy and all around the perfect dumpling. The spicy dumplings were delicious as well, the skin was nice and thin and the filling was on point. The wood ear mushrooms was a good palette cleanser to all the dumplings and scallion pancakes which were so crispy and flaky. Please come by to get take out or eat by a near by table. It’s so good even though it is only take out atm!

A friend recommends this place and it is our first time to try it. We just love it. Highly recommend to try the steamed veggie dumplings, spicy wonton, cucumber salad. Fresh, nice and defiantly delicious. Will come back again !

My mom and I are on a quest to find the best dumplings. Im rating Hui Tou Xiang a 4/5 my mom probably would say 3/5.Food:XLB 4/5I really enjoyed the XLB, although the thick dough was not my favorite iteration the filling is super tasty. This was my favorite dumpling.Pork Shumain 3/5I think my moms opinion is colored by the shumai because she was expecting the shumai with pork and shrimp and yellow wrapper. This shumai was absolutely delicious to me but to my mom looked more like a wonton.3/5I wasnt so into the pan friend pork hui tou but I think I prefer steamed or boiled dumplings.Overall though, for a good hack for speedy service, order on the phone. The spicy wontons are delicious! They’re coated in chili oil so they’re much spicier than ones at Din Tai Fung, which are served in a spicy broth. But the filling is still very tasty. The three taste dumplings are a winner too!

Most consistently high quality handmade dumplings. Their frozen handmade dumplings and wontons are staples in our home. Im a working parent, and we rely on the delicious dumplings for quick meals. Their service is always quick and friendly. Throughout the pandemic, I have given away their frozen dumplings to friends and colleagues in crises. I have tried multiple other dumpling houses in the SGV, and this place has the most consistently high quality.

Fresh, Simple, Consistent, Positively Delicious. I eat here at least twice a week. Everything on the menu is good. That said, the Chinese Spinach Wonton Soup is my personal favorite. The broth, alone (seaweed infused), is truly special. ...Don’t forget to use the chili paste. It’s house made, and an absolute delight.

I was pleasantly surprised that the food here was actually not bad.Maybe because I was starving but I really enjoyed their Egg and tomato noodle. The texture of the noodles was perfect and just the way I liked it !My friend however felt like the dumplings he ordered felt like they were frozen dumplings and not freshly made. But, personally I enjoyed what I ate.

Delicious if basic. Go early-- they can get surprisingly busy on weekend. The rectangular Hui Tou potstickers are a great ratio if you like more skin and less filling than the regular ones, too!Even better for dessert theres lots of options, from the same plaza to just across the street.

Great price for dumplings. I would highly recommend the Pork Hui Tou dumplings. The beef one did not taste as good. Their crab XLB and pork XLB were okay. Would not recommend any of the noodles here. Very bland and flavorless. Order dumplings and you should be fine. Buy 4 get 1 free. Parking can be a pain but thats how it is in these Asian plazas.

Good service but food quality is nowhere near what other reviews are saying, so I feel misled. The dumpling skins are really thick and starchy. The noodles in the meatball soup were limp and soft when other places use handpulled noodles. The fillings are tasty but they use rice wine in XLB so that was a little unexpected. Overall disappointed in the food but our server was attentive.

This place was a super chill surprise - totally worth the drive out from LA! Its always a gamble when looking for recs online, but man, oh man, HTX shot it outta the park, and at a price that was incredibly reasonable.I got the braised meatball soup noodles, and I could not believe my eyes when the balls arrived, liking even more delicious than in the photos. They did not disappoint - best. Meatballs. EVER... in soup or otherwise. I was beyond happy. Well definitely be making the drive often. Would highly, highly recommend this place thats nestled in amongst so many others - enjoy!

Located in the plaza with the bonchon chicken and the half and half old country. Food is delicious! I got the fried pork dumplings (which were crunchy and juicy), Xiao long baos, and the sesame noodles (very mild sauce with chewy handmade noodles) its a really small restaurant so theres usually a wait but its worth it if you want some authentic dumplings

Came here after doing some research about other Chinese Food places in my area. I expected this place to be flooded with people during the lunch hours, but we decided to try it out. I havent been to this plaza in ages, and when I did, i usually came here for the Vietnamese restaurant on the other end and all I could remember was the packed parking lots and long waits so that was what I was expecting. However, when I cam here, it wasnt too empty, but not too crowded either. I parked in the public parking lot on the street right next to the plaza anticipating a larger crowd, but I guess I came here during the right time because most of the restaurants here werent too full, but I imagine this to not be the case during dinner hours or Sunday lunch hours.Now lets get to the food. When I came here, I was seated immediately by the servers and on the table was a self-service menu with spots to put checkmarks on the items you want. My party got the Stewed Beef Noodle Soup, Pan Fried Dumplings, Scallion Pancakes, and the famous Xiao Long Bao. As a starter, the server gave us a small plate of kimchi which was good.The food we ordered was all so delicious. The Scallion Pancake was flavorful and crispy. The Pan Fried Dumpling was unique and crunchy, and there was a little bit of soup in each one. The Stewd Beef Noodle Soup came with some vegetables, a bit of a kick, and the softest beef I have ever eaten. It practically fell apart when I grabbed it. The Xiao Long Bao, although not filled with the ideal amount of soup was possibly the best thing I tried here. The skin was so soft and the meat had a bit of a nutty flavor which i assumed could be sesame. It was extremely to my expectations.Overall, this was an extremely great experience. The food was good, service was great, and the vibe was excellent.

Dumpling flavor comes from both the filling and the skin. Dumpling skin was bland. Dumpling filling was unremarkable. Waitstaff service was also unremarkable. I recommend going to the dumpling place next door instead. Their dumpling skins are flavorful and complement the filling well. Theyre about 25% more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This review has been a long time coming, but I came here with a bunch of fellow foodies for dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived fairly early - before 7 - were all able to avoid the dinnertime crowd and find parking in the pretty small lot. Since this restaurant is located in the same plaza as the popular Luscious Dumplings and Phoenix, it can get incredibly crowded while waiting at restaurants or for a parking spot!I believe what draws customers into Hui Tou Xiang is their special buy four items, get one free promotional deal. I mean, thats what drew me to look into the restaurant in the first place. They also have simple spicy appetizers they serve to the table while you wait for the food, which was pretty nice.Hui Tou Xiang is popular for their special potstickers that are in a rectangular shape rather than the traditional pot sticker shape. I believe this is so that both sides of the pot stickers get an even cook making the skin of the dumpling to taste uniformly crispy on all sides.Pork hui tou: Flavorful and tasty. The skin of the dumpling was slightly crispy but still chewy, which I liked. The flavor of the pork was good as well.Beef hui tou: Not as flavorful and juicy as the pork. There wasnt as much of a taste. Skin was cooked evenly, but Id skip the beef and just go for the pork.Crab xiao long bao: It was pretty tasty, but I still prefer Mama Lus to this one. Not too memorable, but flavors were good. Im not a big fan of crab XLB in general, so paying a whole lot more money to get crab instead of pork isnt my thing.Sesame noodles: No taste at all. We added all the additional sauces given to us and all we could taste from the noodles was the sesame oil. No flavor, no taste, no good.I think we ordered one more dish/received one for free, but I have no clue what it was - which probably means it was just okay.Overall, the food was decent for the price we paid. I wouldnt say that anything was extraordinary or outstanding. Honestly I dont think Id come back to this restaurant when I can get Mama Lus instead.

I came here with a friend after I read an LAist article listing LAs top dumpling houses (yet another article listing places lol) and really really wanted to try their rectangular hui tou dumplings.We got:- hui tou dumplings (8 pieces) - yummy yummy! I love the wrapper skin! And the filling was delicious and juicy.- xiao long bao with crab meat - xlb are always delicious and so were these! Juicy and yummy.- pork rib noodles - this was a bit bland but the noodles were nice and slippery. The meat was a bit on the tougher side.I loved all the sauces they provide - vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil (and fresh ginger!) I usually combine everything and make one delicious dipping sauce :)Parking is plenty, its located in a fairly large plaza. Service was friendly and fast! Water comes in styrofoam cups (which was kind of odd) but was refilled pretty often. We sat down at 2pm and they close at 3pm, but they let us stay until around 3:30pm without making any motions to try and kick us out.

Came here with a friend who has been coming for years with her mom. We ordered the Pork hock for appetizer, xiao long bao, fish dumplings and another order of some pan fried dumplings with leek.I really liked the fish dumplings. It came extremely fresh and tasted delicious. The Pork hock was good as well. Thinly slices of cold cut pork that came with this amazing seseame oil sauce. Xiao long bao was good but I prefer Din Tai Fungs xiao long bao. I like their promo where you buy 5 orders of dumplings, get 1 free. This place is also CASH ONLY.

Prioritized checking this place out on my most recent LA trip, having missed out on trying it the last time I was in the area.The hui tou itself was a little disappointing, though through no fault of it actually being bad: I was just expecting a bit more than flattened, glorified potstickers, that have been pan-fried on both sides. That said, if you enjoy potstickers, youll certainly like the hui tou!Their spicy wontons, on the other hand, were fantastically delicious, with great flavor, and cooked juuuust so, so that the skin was still firm and springy. Our side order of the tofu skin was also quite tasty, and served with very, very generous portions.***Accessibility Info***Venue - A smaller cafe type of Chinese restaurant, but accessible, with the exception of the booth seating along the walls.Bathroom - No comment because I didnt try them.

Came on a Saturday around lunch time. There were a lot of people, but we got lucky and took the last table. Service was fast. Everything came out quick, and the food wasnt too expensive.I was craving for some wontons, and this was a good place to get them. The Hong Kong Styled Wontons were yummy. The sides were not bad too. We got the seaweed side dish.Overall, I liked it. Would come back again for a quick meal.

I will never come again. It tastes terrible and has an indescribable sweetness. The portion is very small and the noodles are cold. They only accept cash and they even added tax to me. How can I incur tax if I don’t allow credit cards? It can only be taken out, and they only give two 16-ounce lunch boxes. How can I eat it? After repeated requests, I was given a small plastic bowl, without any regard for the customers feelings. Look at the photo, this bowl even contains soup. no less

Very tasty!I ordered beef noodles, steamed dumplings, pot stickers, leek boxes, elbow scallops, and blanched vegetables and kimchi wontons. They were all very delicious and authentic.You will miss the taste after eating it👍👍👍
