We were looking to get some good quick Chinese take out. We hit a homerun with Hunan Garden. We ordered way too much food but oh well. We get some good leftovers for the next day or so. The customers service was excellent and the food was delicious. We ordered beef fried, chicken with broccoli, chicken with soft noodles, shrimp with lobster sauce, and egg rolls. We would definitely go back to this place again.

The spicy mustard is a powder hydrated with vinegar. It’s so watery it doesn’t stick to anything and makes whatever you put it on soggy. The orange chicken is so doughy there is barely any chicken. But the main reason for my poor review is they have a policy that if you dine in there is an automatic tip added which gives zero incentive for good service. I will not be returning because there are too many issues that weren’t worth the prices they charge.

I was looking for authentic Chinese food and while I only ordered the orange chicken I found it quite authentic. The chicken was citrusy and delicious. I also ordered the egg rolls and they were made so well. Filled to the brim with a variety of veggies. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and the inside is surrounded with stuffed animals. Gives it a very personal touch. Please support small business and give this place a chance!

I went here to grab lunch. It is right next to a Vons and subway. Once I walked in I was greeted with kindness unlike other places I’ve been to. The lady had the food at record speeds and it was very affordable in todays era. Thanks!

The staff is super friendly however the food was not the greatest. The egg rolls were really greasy and the honey walnut shrimp sauce was too thick. Also the fried rice only had soy sauce, no veggies or flavor. The water was very warm and No ice. I do wanna stress that the staff was very kind, the food just wasn’t good.

The service is lousy and waitres is rude.. i hv mentioned that not too spicy.. the kungpao is damn spicy and i end up taking it home. And I did not even finish.. my lunch at all— and just start eating what my husband and my sister share their food to me..our first time and it will be the last to visit that place. The place is a junk-their tables and chairs are just covered w/ one-dollar yard fabric.🤮

Very good place to eat, after a hard day of work this place was so delicious and hit the spot. The service was amazing, the owner was nice enough to let us put our luggage on the floor our table while we ate. Id definitely recommend this place

Delicious Egg Foo Young with vegetables with yummy sauce. The vegetable egg rolls are super size and crispy some of the best I have had. My hubby wanted Beef Chow Mein I did not see on the menu and they made it for him.

Went their for lunch and checks all the boxes for me. Quick service was the best part I was seated, ordered, ate, and paid all within about 20 minutes. Cant barely get a subway sandwich that fast. Ordered the cashew chicken which was good. The egg soup was also good.

One of the worst Chinese Restaurants, and worst decor I have experienced ever!I ordered Pork Dumplings for a appetizer, it arrived about 10 seconds after I ordered it, they were doughy and stone cold inside. My wifes fish dish with ginger and scallions, the fish was tasteless and greasy and hardly any ginger. My main course was almost OK. The restaurant itself had boxes stacked up against the back wall and on some on the seats, there were ornaments and stuffed children toys strewn around and one of the restaurants staff was seated in one of the booths on his cell phone for the duration of our meal.........YUK!

DO NOT GO HERE! The woman who owns this place is so rude! I called just to order some rice and she said you don’t have to call just come in, but I requested that it be ready for when I arrive. She just hung up on me. When I arrived she said “oh you are thebwoman who called?!” in a snide way. Asked me what size I want and when I didn’t know the difference between what she was saying (I thought one size) she rudely went back to go get the boxes when I asked to see. She comes back with what I requested and tells me $3. Then proceeds to yell at me and say “No card! Only cash!” And I said I don’t have cash so she replies “then you can’t buy!”I get that businesses have a process but they need to be up front and no need to be rude about it. She is an angry Asian woman who is rude! I will never go here again. To make matters worse her space is FILLED with boxes making it look like someones hoarder house…. not a restaurant ready to serve people. I’m sorry, my business will go elsewhere!#1 lesson in business don’t be rude to customers!

A lot of the bad reviews were from the previous owners (2 plus years ago). Don’t let that deter you. We are a mixture of vegetarian and vegan eaters, some with special diets due to allergies. They are always willing to change things around to accommodate us and make for a great meal. They’ll even do things not on the menu. I like to get their vegetarian sweet and sour pork, but I substitute the veggie shrimp instead. It’s a ton of food and usually lasts me for three meals.

This place feels like a home away from home. The food is amazing and the people who work there always make the experience wonderful! We havent been disappointed with any dish weve ordered and have been thanked by friends for recommending it! We usually go for dinner. The entrees are large portions so we order to share.

You must try the Honey Walnut Shrimp. The shrimp are extra large. They had a choice of teas; we had jasmine tea and it was delicious. The egg flower soup had small amounts of added mushroom, corn and chopped water chestnuts, giving me something crunchy. The owners were really nice, and the food was special, not your typical Chinese take out. We dined in the restaurant, but most of the customers during the time we were there picked up to go.

Absolutely the best wor wonton soup we’ve ever had. We also ordered the chicken fried rice which was equally good. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and was so delicious. I even called the restaurant to give kudos to the chef for our wonderful meal.

Thought I give them a try (tried Chesters) Ok for immature taste, but not for connoisseurs.Lady who took order was friendly and smart.They may have other dishes thats much better. But I ordered the staple chicken chow mein (soft noodles) and the appetizer BBQ Pork which was ok, some of the pieces were not as tender. Sorry, but Ill drive down to Pickwick to go to Chesters. Hes pricier but theres a reason. Case closed.

Are you ducking kidding me. ive been a regular customer here for over a year. i always order the vegetarian beef and broccoli. my girlfriend made a phone pickup order and ordered the vegetarian food. we picked up and went home. crazy enough theres some real duck and beef. ive spent so much money here and thought maybe they would comp my meal. my girlfriend calls them and they argue that she didnt order it the right way. dont argue with a customer when you represent a business, thats beyond childish. worst of all he told me the next time i visit i can get a discount. absolutely never will i visit again. what a way to treat a regular.

I have ordered take out from this place a couple of times and it was ok. I decided to dine and give them another chance. I placed my order and one item was Crispy Shrimp. She said it was spicy, i told her it was fine. The food all came out at different times. The Shrimp came out about 10 solid minutes after everything else.When I got it, it was breaded and a yellow color and smelled of curry. I tried a little piece and sure enough it was curry and also not spicy at all. It was awful to say the least. My 5 year old loves crispy Shrimp (spicy) he tried this and spit it out.I have had Crispy Shrimp from Peking Inn and it was really good. I was expecting something like that. The owner finally came out about 10 minutes after I told the waiter I was not happy with the shrimp. She said this is what I ordered and basically deal with it, No apology no taking it off my bill nothing. She was so rude. What ever hapend to costumer is always right. I said If I wanted Indian food I would of gone down the walk way and had it. She said we advertise it on the window, Well they do advertise Curry Chicken on the window. I will never dine at this place again and hope after reading this no one else will, Very disappointed, I hope they go out of business!!!!

I ordered food to be picked up and was very disappointed in the quality and taste of The Hunan Garden. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and paid $42.00 for two dinners that were bland and made of cheap ingredients. The sesame chicken was smothered in a horrible sauce that only masked the flavor of the cheap dark meat. The Mongolian beef was also very bland and had an odd flavor, and not in a good way. The dishes do not come with rice (really!), so the overcooked rice needs to be ordered separately at $2.00 a piece. The order of egg rolls were no better, as bland as it gets. I didnt bother saving any leftovers because there was no point.

Been my go-to for a couple years now. Best I’ve had in the area, which I include as Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Oxnard! Service is excellent, quality of the food is tops! Highly recommend these folks if you want great Chinese food! In fact, I’m going back this evening!

This restaurant delivers. I tried it for the first time last week and they delivered sweet-and-sour chicken. It was absolutely delicious. I dont know what the Decour looks like but if you looking for good Chinese food to be delivered this is where you start. Totally worth it

We recently order a few dishes and one of them was soup, sweet and sour soup, there was description of the taste of this soup but other than vile just nasty even my dogs were not even interested in it, no words to describe..... beef chow mein left me unsatisfied and the sweet n sour chx was ok, wont be ordering from them again thats for !!
