2023-12-04 06:34:22Came here with some family members on a spur of the moment, and we all agree that this place got some tasty eats. What stood out the most, other than the cool retro music themed interior, was their unique dishes like the Apple Topoki and Gim Ballad. The Apple Topoki had a nice sweet heat flavor thanks to the apple in it, great for fans of topoki/tteobbokki. The Gim Ballad was the black chicken that looked burnt but was really due to it being coated with seaweed! Another thing that needs a shout-out was their jalapeño sauce that came with the popcorn chicken. That stuff was fire! Yall need to go here if you can.

2023-11-22 03:31:06Went today during the non-busy hours of the restaurant and got sitted right away. In the back of the restaurant there is this nice sitting area where you can sit on the ground with cusions and relax. We got our food in about 10-15 minutes afer orderingApple Topoki - The topoki had inside rice cake, fish cake, cheese drizzle, and pieces of apple inside of it. Even though it was suppose to be not spicy there was a slight kick to it so careful to those not used to spice. The cheese wasnt really pull texture it pretty much melt and stuck there.Half Honey Luv Rap - was a normal chicken was very crunchy and flavorfulHalf Red Disco - the sause was not that spicy but the flavor was rich and sweet that i didnt expect from it.Looking at other review pictures I noticed how everyone got their food in plates and such, while we got our topoki in a plastic take out bowl and the chicken in their box, which had a amazing design. Overall really enjoyed our experience and thank you staff for taking care of us.

2023-11-22 07:14:35Ok this place is the definition of a cool chill spot, for fried chicken and much more! Located in Amerige Heights, across Barnes and Nobles, Target, Starbucks, among others, so theres plenty of parking and plenty of things to do around the area! The restaurant takes me back to the disco and vinyl records era with the Soul of South Korea! Its soo nice!Theres plenty of tables inside and outside, and also if you choose to sit at the soban(Korean traditional sitting) just note that theres only two tables and its first come first serve basis! The Food:1 As soon as you are seated, they have you Bombok which is their sweet house Chex mix! They do sell this for $6 a bag and you best bet I bought some to take home! Theyre so addicting!2 Loaded Samba Fries- is a a dance of kimchi, spicy (sriracha) aioli and cheese. My kids love these!3 Fried Chicken half Gim Ballad half Red Disco- Gim Ballad is Seaweed Battered, and so crunchy and savory and the Red disco is sweet and with a hint of spice!4 Drinks- Mint Mojito and Pineapple Paradise both perfect drinks that complement the savory chicken and spicy fries well!5 Dalgona Bombok ice cream- was my personal favorite, the honeycomb, with the Bombok in the vanilla ice cream wasto die for!Everyone is so nice here we love that part too!

2023-10-28 07:24:07I was so excited to try this place as it was circulating around my instagram! needless to say i was very satisfied. the staff were super nice when helping us out and the interior of the store is like retro korean, super cute.for food, we got the anchovy fries, apple tteokbokki, half original chicken, and half red disco chicken. everything was delicious! the fries were flavorful, definitely good and unique. the tteokbokki included apple slices and puree in the sauce which gave it a little more sweetness to it which was nice. the chicken was amazinggg with the best crunch ever. i learned that they marinate their chicken overnight which gives it amazing flavor!for drinks, we got the pineapple paradise, which tasted like a pineapple soda. the other drink was the mint mojito mocktail, very refreshing and delicious to help cut down on some on the spice!i highly recommend checking out this new spot!

2023-11-12 02:45:52Was not expecting to find a new chicken place this good in an area with so many good chicken places! A lot of restaurants put things on their menu where you try them, and its a bad imitation of what theyre describing. Not I got my sound chicken though! You can tell that their anchovy fries were made with fresh anchovy, and their Mala chicken will numb your entire mouth. Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu

2023-11-28 02:54:23Great fried chicken! Tried the seaweed and the mala flavors. Food was fresh and actually spicy! 🌶️ the mala topokki was also good and had the rice cakes and glass noodles in it.

2023-10-07 03:21:57I just visited the grand opening day so I worried about the delayed service but they served fast enough. Employees are kind and smiling. Also they suggested their signature menu of seaweed chicken. Ive never heard that but I love seaweed and chicken so I will order later. Soy sauce chicken and seasoning chicken were delicious as I had in South Korea.

2023-11-25 23:59:46Elevating and redefining Korean Fried Chicken? That is what I Got My Sound Chicken vows to do and they actually do deliver it! Theyre a new korean fried chicken shop that opened up Fullerton where they pride themselves in their flavor infusion and take on Korean Fried Chicken without compromising on the quality. Their batter tastes a bit lighter but crispier than other spots that Ive had, and I dont know how they managed to still keep the chicken super juicy. They stand out to me with a couple items on their menu such as Gim Chicken (Seaweed), Caramel Donut, Apple Rice Cakes (Topoki) and more! At first, the name of the establishment may sound silly, but once you head inside, youll see that its perfectly decorated according to its name with old stereos, tuners, records adorned on the wall. They even have a section with Korean traditional seating which I thought was unique. I enjoyed the food and will definitely be back to try more items.|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G ||-Cross Streets are W. Malvern Ave. and N. Gilbert St.-Located in the same plaza as Target, Barnes & Nobles, Rubios, DPlace Steak and Pasta and more!-Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza|| F O O D / D R I N K S ||Bombok - I enjoyed their homemade cereal mix which has a mixture of sweet and savory. It was quite addicting.Half Gim (Seaweed) / Half Original Fried Chicken - I absolutely loved the seaweed fried chicken. Just something about the light yet crispy batter and how they still managed to make the chicken super juicy is what made me want for more. Dont judge it by its dark appearance, if you love seaweed, youll definitely fall in love with this fried chicken. The original was pretty good as well and is a good alternative if youre hesitant to try the seaweed flavor.Apple Dopoki - I was super intrigued as I never had apples in my spicy rice cakes. It added a slight sweetness to the spicy dish. The melted cheese on top was chefs kiss!Poppin Chicken - Their version of popcorn chicken. If you dont have a huge appetite, this is a perfect snack portion for you. I personally would focus on their fried chicken.Mint Mojito (mocktail) - This was my favorite out of the two mocktails that they currently offer. Mint flavor is quite strong and I liked how it wasnt overly sweet.Pineapple Paradise (mocktail) - Pineapple extract with sparkling water. This one is on the sweeter side due to the pineapple extract. It was still a pretty refreshing drink though!

2023-11-09 20:36:36Would you try this black fried chicken? This spot in Fullerton opened just last month and I swear this is probably the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever put in my mouth. They went absolutely crazy on the details of the interior and I loved the vibes here.Started off with the Poppin chicken, dip it in that jalapeño sauce.Apple-flavored rice cakes, yes you heard me right, with the gooey cheese pull. And their half original and half gim ballad Korean fried chicken. So it’s actually seaweed that gives it its color, and adds an extra umami flavor. Pour on some of that jalapeño sauce again because why not, but I loved this red spicy sauce which was like a party in my mouth. Let me know if you would try this! Thanks for reading! ^-^

2023-11-06 09:01:36Second time here solidified it--this is the best Korean fried chicken ive ever had.I got the gim aka seaweed along with the original. Both are exceptional. However, the highlight is the gim chicken. I dont know who thought to combine seaweed and fried chicken, but they are a culinary genius. Im no food critic so I cant describe why it works, but I can say with absolute certainty that it is delicious. As for the chicken itself, the skin is remarkably crispy, seasoning just right, and the meat is juicy. All in all, the chicken has no flaws. Now for the non-chicken components. The green sauce that they provide is delicious and slightly spicy; it goes particularly well with the original. I found the coleslaw to be slightly too vinegary, but it wasnt overwhelming. Their bombok snack that they provide with every meal is interesting. At first I thought it was too sweet, but as I kept snacking on it, I couldnt stop. Its addictive.Unfortunately, they did forget the radish which is essential for cutting through the heaviness of the chicken.I did takeout both times I went, and everything went smoothly. To wrap, I got my sound chicken is a breath of fresh air in a Korean fried chicken scene that is afraid to deviate from the norm. I am so excited to come back to try all the flavors and sides (especially curious about the mala flavor), and am ecstatic that I live so close. Come check this place out!!!
