2023-03-26 23:57:28Every time Ive been here, Ive been surprised at the low cost. This place is right next to a higher end sushi joint, but sells rolls and the like for much less, and it honestly feels like a hidden gem because of it. They have some in-ground seating which requires you to take off your shoes, but they also have some standard tables and bench seating along one side of the place. The food is always delicious. I usually got for the tempura and teriyaki chicken (sometimes beef) bento with some CA rolls, a standard American palette classic, and its always good. My boyfriend appreciates the multiple different cooked rolls and the flowing green tea. His picky-as-ever kid happily ate her cucumber rolls and tried plenty of new things here, which is a huge plus (we thought she would like other sushi places as she claims to love sushi, but would barely touch her CA rolls at rotating sushi!). The joint is clearly run by family as their kids will be on devices or doing homework at a table, but as someone who grew up in a restaurant, its rather charming to me. The place has a bustling to-go scene, and during dinner it never seems to die down. Im surprised at the low rating this place gets considering their price and location (I wonder how many people found this place after discovering the neighboring sushi place usually has an hour wait!) As the food will slake a craving and wont break the bank. The chicken is never dry, the soups are always flavorful, the rolls are always tasty and the fish is never smelly/chewy. We live nearby and come at least once a fortnight and have yet to have a bad meal here (though I will say the teriyaki salmon was not the best, but the rest has been fine). Give this place a dine-in try and dont be afraid to try some creative rolls here. I suggest the kamikaze roll.

2020-11-02 15:05:26I came here planning to do some outdoor dining, however changed my mind and ordered takeout instead. The restaurant is inside a strip mall in the corner. There are about 4 tables outside and they are poorly lit. One table that was available was really close to the parking lot and I can see and hear all the cars driving by. Lots of cars also made a stop by that corner for people running in to pick up their order. I thought it was best to order takeout since it wasn’t the atmosphere I was hoping for. I waited almost an hour for my food to be ready. Two tables sat down after I placed my order and they received their food before I did. The sushi here wasn’t anything amazing. The wasabi was especially bad.

2016-12-20 02:18:49Although Id heard the service was bad, it was actually fine. The low stars are for the quality of the fish, which was horrible. Everything had a fishy taste and all the sashimi that should melt in your mouth was chewy and gross. Im really sad because we live nearby and it would be nice to have another sushi place to frequent. Also, I used to go here a lot several years ago and it used to be decent. Husband was just glad it didnt give us food poisoning. We ordered the Lovers Delight.

2019-09-07 03:07:41Tried this place at a friend’s place via food delivery. Rather disappointing. The Hamachi Maki was supposed to have green onion in it; but came with none. Lemon slices on the 49er Roll were small and thick, and had seeds in them. Philadelphia Roll had more cream cheese than salmon. Alaska Roll had only a little bit of avocado and tobiko. Salmon Skin Roll would probably do better without the sweet sauce. Carrots in the tempura looked like half of the carrot was just chopped off and thrown into the batter; and they were half cooked. All in all, not worth the price, and not a restaurant I would recommend.

2019-06-01 12:19:20Non Japanese ran sushi restaurant that’s fairly ok.Sashimi I had was still fairly frozen but tasted like fish discernible from salmon to hamachi. Step above most sushi buffet as this place isn’t a buffet.Jumbo spider roll was a real pass... not large, soft shell crab was not evident in taste.Reasonable cheap prices makes this place popular.

2018-02-10 21:09:24Really good place for a quick bite, friendly service and clean facility. I had the dragon roll, lion king and an order of Santa Barbara Uni. They were all delicious, this will be my new go-to spot for sushi!

2022-04-04 03:57:58We always order sushi & tempura which are always fresh & delicious. On our last order we added tuna poke. It was awful. First of all it looked like it has been put in a food processor instead of being cubed as it should have been. I tasted it & it not only had a horrible taste but it left a metallic taste in my mouth. I will contact the restaurant to request a refund.
