GRAB A TICKET FIRST FROM THE RIGHT WHEN ENTERING.We were standing close to the display waiting for a worker to help us because no one told us to grab a ticket. I understand the worker outside managing capacity may have forgotten to inform, but I also didn’t want to be rude standing around on accident. I recommend a worker behind the counter to ask if we had a ticket, so we can realize sooner. Yes, it gets busy, but not everyone knows the drill.We just grabbed Dark Chocolate Brownie and Bread Pudding. Both were good, but of course they were sweet. I liked the crunch on the brownie with every bite (chocolate chips and crust top), it makes the dense brownie easier to eat. The bread pudding was dense which I think is what it’s supposed to be. I just wished there was a crunch for the bread pudding too. Brownie was wrapped in plastic wrap while the bread pudding was just out-and-about in the paper bag. I wished I knew so I could wrapped it sooner to retain freshness and prevent the pudding bar from touching the wrapped brownie (sticky).

I wish I would had read the reviews of the crumbling carrot cake before buying the chocolate cake. The cake I purchased from this bakery ICING ON THE CAKE, was extremely dry. The pieces of cake crumbled before I could put it on the plate.

This business has a bad attitude. “we can’t” “we don’t do that”- I was trying to order a simple birthday cake and they made it difficult and made me feel like I was putting them out. I ended up going somewhere else. Even reading their website, very unwelcoming (we no longer do this and that, etc…) Delicious cakes, but not worth dealing with the bad customer service.

I liked the cupcakes but thought they were a little dense and could be lighter. The flavors were great though. We tried the luscious lemon, chocolate peanut butter and mocha almond fudge. The peanut butter and mocha one were nicer. We got some cookies too and they’re amazing!

Ok lets start with the products...10 stars!!! We get the Cream cheese Carrot cake 🎂 every year and it never ever disappoints!!!The have the most awesome cookies also. There is nothing in the food line that I can write negatively about, I am only deducting one star because I feel their prices are a little on the high side but their quality is over-the-top excellent. I seriously highly recommend this place.

I LOVE coming here. Everything is fantastic but my favorite things are the lemon cake with frosting and pound cakes. The gift shop is adorable and who couldnt find the right card there? The staff is always amazingly friendly and accommodating and if you get to say hello to the owner, she absolutely is, the Icing on the Cake!!! Go there...NOW!!!

Extremely tasty cakes and I am head over heels in love with their icing. Its so good that all you need is just one bite and you will know that you have to come back again. Recommend their banana cupcake, it is out of this world. Everything is slightly on the expensive side, for ex: a cupcake is 4$ but it is worth the money and sugar.

I have high expectations from places with pink boxes. But sort of the expectations were not meet. I got a keylime pie slice, Cupcakes and cookie-brownie mix cookie.Key lime pie was creamy and right amount of tart. But i found the crust too sweet.Cupcakes were not my favorite. Frosting was too sweet and cake wasn’t light as i have had in other places.Cookie was very tasty and not too sweet.But be always ready for 30min wait in covid restrictions.

Great, its all great. First off this is kind of a biased review and I say kind of my father in law use to be a baker there, but he hasnt worked there if a few years since he has retired and is traveling. My wife and I have been ordering our wedding cake every year from there since we first bought it back in 2007. Still great treats and the customer is still amazing. Keep up the great work.

This is the best bakery I have ever come across and it has been our go to place for birthday cakes since 2007. Everything they make is fabulous and we drive from Gilroy for their cakes and tasty treats! Their banana cake with cream cheese frosting is our favorite. They make cookies, cupcakes, pound cakes, and specialty items like their pink big tops and salted caramel moons which are like pillowy-soft, cake-like cookies frosted with delicious icing. They also make rice crispy treats and other confections. Their staff is always friendly and they seem to serve their customers quickly even when they are super busy. I only wish I lived closer!

Their cake is good but they made a woman with an infant wait outside in the freezing rainstorm because they were at “max capacity”, however, the girl who was in charge of waiting at the front door wasn’t actually counting who was coming out of the store because I saw three parties of people walk out before asking again if we could go in and she said they were still at max capacity. This is a ridiculous and silly rule that they’re not even upholding properly.

Ive never had to write a negative review for a business before but after my experience I truly feel not doing so would be a disservice to the community of Los Gatos.I began working with the Icing On The Cake Bakery in January of this year on my upcoming fall wedding, letting them know my date upfront. Our date, our guest list, our venue have not changed since our initial conversations 7 months ago. I came in for a cake tasting in February and confirmed the date still worked with no concerns flagged by the business. I brought up the bakerys name to my caterer and who informed me they did not always treat people well. I proceeded against my better judgement with the hope we would not encounter any issues.I called today after a nagging feeling when several emails left me feeling uneasy. They informed me that not only did they not think theyd be open on my wedding day, they couldnt even confirm until two weeks prior. This would leave me with just 14 days to find a wedding cake. There was no remorse. The attendant told me shed be happy to give me pricing anyway, not so much as apologizing for taking our money for an event cake tasting for an engagement they had no interest in fulfilling and hearing a bride sobbing over the phone after seven months of commitment.I do not say this lightly - I am heartbroken by the lack of empathy this bakery shows their customers. If you have a baby shower, birthday, anything of value planned with this company, trust your money with a business that has an iota of compassion. We made the mistake of trusting Icing on the Cake and we hope you wont do the same.

This place doesnt need my great rating, but here it is: hands down the BEST cupcakes around. The campfire (I think its called) is amazing: Graham cracker cake with marshmallow fluff icing covered in chocolate. Not too sweet, either. Oh, and thats one thing: I wish that most of the desserts here could be a little less sweet. My sister and I actually talked about this. We like fat and a bit less of the sugar rush.

The cookie dough cupcake had really good icing, but it tastes better with chocolate cake (I ended up taking the icing off and eating it with the cake I had at home).Only two customers are allowed in the store at a time to allow for social distancing. Their baked goods are always delicious and always consistent. We didnt pre-order so we had to wait outside for some customers to leave before we can enter. Love that theyre so considerate, given covid and all.Anyway, we bought their signature banana cake to an outdoor gathering with friends. We lucked out because there was a deal where you take $5 off whole cakes! The cake was so moist and light. Its sweet but not overly sweet (the ultimate Asian compliment). Besides the cake, we bought a seasonal peach hand pie. I was torn between the mixed berry vs the peach and the gal behind the counter said peach was seasonal while the mixed berry is available daily. The pie crust was super buttery and flakey and once you warm it up, the peach filling inside is incredibly gooey and delicious. Seriously, cant go wrong with anything!Btw, if you have a dog, grab a doggy biscuit. Whenever I visit a friend who has a dog, Id bring them one. Believe me, the doggy will love you for bringing it!

I’m a huge fan of chocolate but I must say the banana cake here is phenomenal. I’ve had it more than once and I believe it’s one of the signature desserts at the shop. The staff is friendly and it was easy to get writing and flowers added to the cake (in the color of our choice). I got lucky to get the last banana cake behind the case during my recent visit but I would recommend ordering in advance. Note: my five star rating is strictly based on the banana cake and the customer service.

I wanted a cake for my wife’s birthday which is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I called to see when to order. I was told Friday 11/12. So I called then and she told me no I needed to wait until Saturday 11/20 that day was only for Thanksgiving. So I called back today at opening and they said I was too late I should have called last Friday. Very frustrating. They did not seem to care that it was their mistake. Their cakes are probably good. I will never know.

I am someone who frequented this bakery often. This week I called to put in an order for my husbands birthday and while giving me credit card information was hung up on. I called right back and the line was busy and then closed shortly after. I called several times the next day and didnt get through. Finally on Friday I got through and they explained to me theres nothing they could do for me as they were sold out. When I told her what happened she said not to worry and to call back at 8 am and they would set aside a cake for me as they were making extras for the morning. I did that and the phone was off the hook from 8-9. I called over and over. I went to the store when they opened and waited in line for 40 minutes. When I walked in I asked if any of the small cakes were banana and she said three were so I said great ill take one of those. Then she said oh wait actually theyve all just sold. I guess someone called at that moment and they sold all of them. I was so incredibly upset I asked to speak to a manager. She said the owner was on the phone but she was a senior and could help. I explained to her the situation and she offered no resolution except to say she could put a happy birthday thing in some cupcakes. I just got home after purchasing the cupcakes and theres no happy birthday anything in the box. Nothing.Sure theyre good cupcakes but nothing is worth this level of customer service. I have never ever written a negative review but this was horrible.

I absolutely love their wheat free pumpkin bread and wheat free banana chocolate chip bread. They dont often have it when I come and I think they should have the pumpkin bread all year long as well as make a wheat free apple bread. They have a good system where you pull a number and they call your number to take your order. This is efficient and people there are friendly.

I went here to try cupcakes to see if they would be a good dessert for our wedding. We tried 4 different cupcakes after looking through their website.Three of the four cupcakes were way too sweet.Turtle: The cake part was pretty good in itself, but the chocolate part is a bit bitter. The bitter part would be balanced out by the sweetness of the icing, except the icing was so sweet that it made my teeth hurt. The walnut didnt add a good texture.We also tried both of their caramel cupcakes (Bordeaux Bon Bon and Salted Caramel) but I didnt get the caramel notes at all from either of the cupcakes.The one cupcake that we tried that we did like was the Fresh Banana. What it didnt have in looks it made up for in taste. It wasnt overly sweet but the flavor of the banana came through wonderfully. It was moist and delectable. I just wish they didnt put the sprinkles on because that took away from the rest of the cupcake.The staff there were kind and attentive. The places was super busy, but they had a tag system which made it easy to get attended in order without a strict line.

I have only been here twice but that was enough to have me day dreaming of banana cupcakes for days on end.The staff are extremely pleasant and patient even when the patrons are pushy and not so patient. Can you blame them though?To date Ive tried the banana cupcake, Mocha Almond cupcake, Mudslide Cupcake, carrot cupcake, pecan bar, lemon bar, triple chocolate cookie and a salty something cookie. I have no complaints about any of them.As soon as i can figure out a venue for my wedding/reception Im coming to Icing On The Cake for my wedding cake!

I still dream about the banana cake. You MUST TRY this staple if it’s your first time at the bakery. We also tried the lemon bar and a variety of cookies. Great Cakes - Bad Business. I drive by Icing on the Cake quite often, as I live in town, and wanted to order a birthday cake for my girlfriend. The line is always around the corner, but one day I got lucky and stopped in, mind you, two weeks before my girlfriends birthday - Im sorry Sir but we only take orders one week ahead of time. So, frustrated, tail between my legs, I left. Fast forward one week later, one week before my girlfriends birthday, I call this time - Hi, Id like to place an order for a birthday cake for my girlfriend. - Oh Im so sorry sir we stopped taking orders for this week. - WHAT! - Feeling a bit gypped, I was able to speak with the Manager, who is very nice, but confirmed they are not able to fill my order as they are already booked for the week. What does a guy got to do get a BIRTHDAY CAKE around here!? Yummy stuff but a bad business model that needs to learn how to scale its production.

Although I made the mistake of volunteering to pick up a cake for Mothers Day, I cannot bad mouth Icing on the Cake... ever. It isnt their fault that people get fairly insane for that holiday, suddenly feeling they must make up for the rest of the years failure to show appreciation for their moms. I had to take a number and waited for quite a while to be called, but the staff was working as quick as humanly possible and remained professional despite the extreme pressure they must have been under. Having worked food service in the past, I know that on Mothers Day people are adamant that their mother is the VIP and project their own shortcomings onto service staff and waitstaff of the establishments they patronize. So considering the holiday, Icing on the Cake did an incredible job holding it down. The other 364 days of the year they are also fabulous.

I had to cal in and Rsvp 2 carrot cupcake, the lady on the phone said Ok, I’m going to grab them n when she came back, there was only 1 left, so I got the carrot slice, which is better cause it has less cream, I love the cream, but can’t eat too much of it. I actually wanted a whole cake for myself to eat for several days, greedy me, but hey, sometimes u just have to treat yourself! 🧁🤪. Weve been buying birthday and celebration cakes here since they were at their old location.Our favorites are the apple spice cake and the banana cake. Weve also gotten vanilla, chocolate and marble. My daughter loves the pumpkin spice ribbons that are on the counter. I love the molasses cookies, and we all love their pb cookies and chocolate chip cookies.Its a great place to go in for a snack (cookie, cupcake, strip of cake) or buy a special cake. What a horrendous experience here. The people running this bakery need customer service and hospitality training. The man working at this cupcake shop seems to have been upset to be a cupcake seller and took out his life frustrations on my mother, fiancé and I. He refused to make eye contact with us and helped two other people behind us. I believe the people running this establishment are racists and when we asked why we had not been helped he gave us a dirty look and said he didnt see us and that we should not be complaining. I then went on to tell him the customer should always be right and he immediately cut me off and said actually no the customer is not always right, he laughed at us and walked away. We were then helped by another cupcake seller who uncomfortably took our order. We got our cupcakes and left but decided we could not eat them joyfully anymore and came back in to return them. The owner of the bakery apologized on behalf of her ill- mannered hiree but did nothing to make us feel better/ offer something or require him to personally apologize to us, in fact when he saw us again he snickered yet again and told us we were rude and walked away and would not come back out. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life anywhere. I would never come back here and will spread the word about this poorly run establishment who hires people who apparently are unhappy to be selling cupCakes......P.S. I wish I could give this place a negative star.**This is my reply to the owners comment back: I had told you my mother and I came to your bakery ONCE before. That does not mean I frequented your establishment. They have many cupcakes. Somehow I dont find the taste out of the world. Its just another cupcake place. Too much icing on the cake actually.
