🌮 This place is a little hole in the wall, but the food was pretty good. They make their own tortilla chips. They have 3 different types of salsa. The food portions are descent sized. I kept seeing it on the Norwalk community page, so my husband and I thought we check it out. My honest opinion, it was meh!😏. I give it 5 out of 10. I got Camarones Al Mojo. It lacked flavor, very bland. Beans and rice were average, nothing special. Also, my shrimp wasn’t cleaned properly😳. My husband got the Carne Asada plate. They give hand made tortillas which were good, just super thick more like a gordita you can stuff.

First visit to Iguanas and we were very impressed. The food was authentic, fresh and VERY tasty. Just what we would expect. The lady who helped us was very friendly, attentive to our specifications on our order and gave us some great food suggestions for lunch. We ordered 3 carne asada street tacos and the meat was bland and hot sauce not hot at all. I prefer fresh chunky salsa, not just hot sauce so I may be biased on the salsa. The workers were very nice and had regulars from what I saw while waiting for my food. It was ok but I probably wont be back.

Ive never visited, but a friend brought me a pollo taco 🌮. I was delighted with the flavor and presentation. I got some avocado sauce on the side and added it, it blew my mind; slowly sneaking up on me and only kicking in after I finished eating the taco! A nice slow burn which made me smile. Ill be visiting the next chance I get.

Went to try out the food, ordered 3 tacos de papa and carnitas taco and was not disappointed the flavor and salsa was prefect together. The restaurant has a variety of options on the menu depending on what your in the mood for from breakfast served allday, tacos of all kinds, caldos for chili weather, even seafood. Also the staff was very welcoming giving a homey vibe and making sure i had what i needed for a good visit. Will definitely be going back to try out some more items on the menu.

Disappointed in the flavor and ingredients!!! I ordered te chicken enchiladas plate with rice and beans. The rice was not soft nor fluffy. It was dry and hard and flavorless. The red chicken enchiladas were a total disappointment! They lacked flavor so much that I thought I was getting sick and unable to taste. The enchiladas had dry flavorless chicken in them. The only cheese was a light sprinkle of crumbs on top! How did this meal option make it on the menu without a taste test. Disappointed and will no be returning!

In my house its known as moms burrito spot I love it from the food to the service its the best spotWe havent been here in such a long time due to Covid and my health precautions but my hubby family took me and boy did I miss it the food is just absolutely the bomb and the customer service is always such a blessing... We used to go to Rancho Grande once a week when we lived in CA 20+ years ago. We were big fans, obviously. The food was authentic, delicious & reasonably priced. Well, I happened to be in town for a family event last week & remembered it as I drove by so I thought Id check it out...certainly, it couldnt be the same or as good as it was 23 years ago...could it? Well, Im THRILLED to be able to say YES, it most certainly is! Still owned by the same family... Still the same delicious recipes... AND STILL great prices!!! Christina (owners daughter) even offered to freeze a few burritos for my flight home, very gracious. And, I understand, she apparently does this for others from out of town, I discovered!

I grew up just down the street from this amazing place and ate here literally all of the time. I moved out of the state 2010 and have not had it since. Came here on a whim one day while driving around looking for a place to eat and glad we stumbled upon this little gem. Dont judge a book by its cover because this little place packs a big punch! From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming. They were patient while we ordered since it was our first visit and were reviewing their extensive menu.As soon as we sat down, we were brought warm chips and salsa. Our food came out shortly after and it was aesthetically pleasing and was just as good when we took our first bite. We both agreed that we would return!

Rancho Grande is one of the most friendly places you can find. The staff are always ready to help you with whatever you need. They go around asking how things are and they are quick with service, the food is cooked amazing and done fast. My mom grew up down the block from this place back in the 1970s, and has been taking me here since I was a kid. The soft taco corn tortillas are amazing along with the pollo, carne asada and refried beans. We made a special drive back 2 days later before leaving town to order combo plates 14 and 15, they are definitely a top choice! Sergio is one of the owners and he made our visit extra special. The people are down to earth and they treat you like family, or whatever youre comfortable with.UPDATE......This first review was for Rancho Grande Grill in Norwalk. As of October 2022, this family has retired after 48 years. They were the best and are already missed.They did sell to a nice family who wanted to open a second restaurant of their own. This is now Iguanas Mexican Food #2. They have a style of their own and you just may want to try them if youre in the neighborhood.

The Louie special burrito is my favorite. The food is good but I have a problem with their customer service. Their spicy hot salsa is hot and tasty. On multiple visits Ive asked for 2 of the tiny (TINY) containers of this salsa and Im rudely told that only 1 per order... even when Im talking 2 burritos. Now today I specifically asked for one of the hot salsas when I picked up my order and what the lady put in the bag was the bland and watery salsa they always give. I didnt realize this until I got home. I know she knew exactly what I was asking for. I will no longer go back to a place that acts like Im asking for too much.... keep your salsa and I will take my business somewhere else. Customers keep you in business...too bad this place doesnt see it this way!!!

Ill give it another go around.**Update** Went back a week later. Ordered the taquitos with The Works for $2 extra. Got taquitos with a small scoop of guacamole and lettuce. They cant seem to get orders right at this place but have no problem charging you for it. This place is about average compared to other places nearby. Probably wont be back.

Dang. My fiance always told me this place was good. But when I ordered for us i ordered the Louie burrito and some enchiladas they charged me 25 dollars and something cents so I expected an awesome ass bomb tasty meal. When I opened it I already knew i wasnt gonna like it. Wayyyyyy too much cheese. The burrito was basically made out of beans and rice I could barely taste the meat. I decided to open it all up and to my surprise there was the smallest portion of steak Ive ever seen. The meat is flavorless and the sauce isnt even spicy at all. Smh. Bad experience, I walked in for lunch so I ordered barbacoa plate after they brought my food I tasted the barbacoa and it was so salty and disgusting. So I went to the cashier and told them that it was salty and had bad taste and her response was that everyone likes it I dont know why you dont. So I ordered something else and had to pay for it. Ive been going to Rancho Grande since the late 70s when I moved from East los. Whenever I really want real authentic mexican food thats where Ill be especially ordering that LOUIE SPECIAL. It doesnt matter what meat you ask for it will always tast so good. I especially like their Barbacoa its really good. But whatever you order your food will always taste so good. The staff is especially so cool like I said I remember when the parents where now Im glad it stayed in the family. I have been coming to Rancho Grande since it was located on the corner of Studebaker Road and Rosecrans Boulevard. That is when I was still attending Santa Fe high School. I have presented this place to a lot of my friends and family members as well. Today, my daughter (Mija), my grandsons (My2Boyz), and my son-in-law (El-Unico) enjoy going there. Although El Rancho may not be located at their original location, their original great flavor followed them to their new place. Which, to me, proves that when they make their food, they make it with love! From day one, without being bias (being that my name is Louie), I tend to lean toward the LOUIE SPECIAL. Weve watched generations of the Owners Family have children, raise them up to work in the restaurant. Now the Food. I challenge anyone to find a better tasting carne asada! My favorite is the Carne Asada all meat burrito. But, everything on the menu is superb. My out of town visitors always eat Rancho Grande when they visit Norwalk.
