Attempted to get a cup of water which was told company policy did not allow this because it was not one of their cups. Was not offered any alternative and repeated several times people had been stealing drinks. Well turn the soda machine around then and offer cups of water in a city that has 108 degree days. Lost a customer for life. Go Nextdoor to Panda Express they have water cups. Ended up eating at Charlie’s with a much better experience.

What a wonderful funky little sandwich shop. First thing first, the staff was incredible. They were warm and inviting and answered all our question. Plus very patient since it was our first time. The CSR was amazing with helping us through the menu. It was a bit overwhelming but really cool with lots of fun choices.The dutch crunch rolls were amazing and the meat was fresh and amazing. They got the order correct and it was done in a timely manor. The Dirty sauce was amazing. It is a must try. We also ordered the Zucchini ring and fries. Both were fresh and the zucchini was insanely good! A must eat.I would highly recommend giving it a try. You will not be disappointed. We certainly were not! Thank you to the amazing staff. The two guys were great!!!!

My first time here. Menu was huge. But I settled for the cheapass combo with their famous Dutch bread. Didnt taste cheap! So so good. Ill be back to try the others I wish I had tried.

Ikes Dutch Crunch bread is the best! I also love their dirty sauce. I discovered Ikes in the bay area before they were in Bakersfield, and am very glad theyre now close by. Theyll gladly customize, and offer many more sandwiches than listed on the menu. Tell them what you like, and theyll make you happy. Their sandwiches never disappoint.

Perhaps the staff was previously slammed with a late lunch rush, but at 3 PM I didn’t expect the place to appear filthy. Bad vibes and upon entering I thought of immediately leaving but I ventured forth only to end up with…An overpriced and underwhelming sandwich that left me unsatisfied, messy and a little hungry.Better than Subway but that doesn’t say much. Worse than most all other sandwich places. Just a lackluster experience.

Dining at Ikes was an extremely enlightening experience. I ascended to the heavens when I tasted the menage a trois, it was similar to the day I got baptized. The rest of the menu is yet to be discovered, when I do, I will reach enlightenment. The dirty sauce is so scrumptious, it moistens the bread and compliments the crunch of the jalepenos and pickles. Oh let me tell you, those pickles are wonderous. Perfectly cut, perfect size. I dont know how they do it, it just sends me into another plane of existence. Thats how wonderful this place is. Ikes is somewhere over the rainbow, it is what is beyond heavens gates. Walking in this fine establishment was nice, sitting at a table with my homies, enjoying our delightful sandwiches. If you made it this far, you must be intrigued. Good. Because this place will have you HOOKED. The sauces, the many options of breads, meatless and meatful, the toppings, the cheeses, it is incredible. The sandwiches hit the spot, the names are comedic and classic, staff is nice, this place is spectacular. I love you Ikes, stay saucy

I used to like going to the Ikes at th Marktplce location, especially when the older manager was there. She was always kind and would greet you with a smile. The new manager looks like hes always angry and is rude. Never going to this location again.

I bought their $37 sandwich and they o ly gave me half. I asked about the other half and they said they forgot and made me a new one. It wasnt very good and the store smelled.

Sandwiches are bland, the menu looks great, but nothing i had was. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. However, the tea was great and it’s really the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.

While it has a lot of vegetarian options, there are fewer meat options. The building of flavors seems more focused on their use of sauces. I had the Menage A Trois and was disappointed. Small meat portions and very sweet. I didnt feel it was a $10 sandwich. They place the cheese on the bottom of the sandwich. As a result, we found the ingredients sliding out of the sandwich. Afterwards, I had the thought we should have went to Jersey Mikes instead.The menu is a bit confusing and apparently there are more sandwiches listed on signs near the restrooms. The store has 7 tables so seating is limited. However, we didnt have trouble finding a place to sit, which is unusual for a new restaurant opening in Bakersfield, where it is usually crowded after opening. Google Maps lists it where the old Basket Robbins used to be, but you find on the other side near Color Me Mine and Cold Stone Creamery.

I was working in the area today and decided to try this place out, not expecting much. Man oh man was I surprised, I got a pastrami and let me tell you it was fine right. This place impressed me and thats not easy to do. Trust me its not easy to get a good review from me, so the fact they got one should say a lot.

Just had a turkey sandwich, turkey slices are so tiny that I couldn’t even tasted but, it was a good tasty sandwich with veggies for $ 13 I think it was pricey, I order a side of fries and the y charge me almost $5 for the worst fries kind, I ember 2 days ago I paid $2 for the same kind at chckers. In total $ 18 for a meal. No more for me

Ordered takeout and drove over here. Upon arriving to pick up the sandwich’s twenty minutes later, they informed us that they didn’t have the primary ingredients for three of the five sandwiches. They didn’t have any suitable replacements. Could’ve given us a call so we didn’t waste the drive.

One of my favorite sandwich shops in the bay area. I am glad to see one in Bakersfield. Go in and order the Jim Rome Burning it is not on the menu but it tastes amazing. My favorite sandwich by far.

I lived in Santa Rosa for two summers when they opened their SR shop. From the start I was hooked. Great sandwiches and people complaining about the price are being cheap. It’s worth it. They have so many vegetarian/vegan options! 🌱

Got sick last 2 times I ate there. Must have put green food coloring in the food. Bought an only veggie sandwich with some sort of green mayo on it. Eat veggie sandwiches all the time at subway but never had BRIGHT green after going to the bathroom. Disgusting!

Quick, kind. There is no Wi-Fi available in the facility. The parking is immediately adjacent to the structure and is very large. I found the bathrooms clean. There is the possibility of vegan sandwiches (beyond meat). Very wide choice of fountain drinks.
