We stopped through on our road trip today because we needed a quick grab and go. This was the only place open for dinner with a gluten free and car friendly option. I have a wheat allergy and appreciated the staff taking time to clean everything. I originally wanted a vegan option but it seems the vegan meats are not gluten-free. I do eat fish occasionally and went with a tuna sandwich.They had a handy allergen list and we’re able to quickly see what my options were.As Im already feeling ill from an earlier contamination, I have no way of confirming how thorough the prep was… but I don’t feel worse so that’s good news IMHO.

Came with a friend who has a life-threatening dairy allergy. i figured it would be a good place since it has so many vegan options, but staff did not seem to be well versed in allergens in the menu. the staff helped look into ingredients, which we appreciated, but surprising they did not have a complete allergen list on hand. after all that my friend still had a minor reaction, suggesting a small amount of cross contamination in their food. i am disappointed this vegan-friendly restaurant does not do more to avoid cross contamination and provide its staff with adequate allergen information.

Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time!! I got the Matt Cain sandwich and my husband ordered the Yolo sandwich. Both amazing! Fresh bread, excellent quality meat and their house sauce (dirty sauce) is so so good! We’ll definitely be back 👍

Great place for a sandwich, especially for vegans: theyve got vegan meatballs, vegan chicken, vegan turkey, vegan beef, etc. All of them are delicious– especially the meatball one (its called Meatless Mike)! Would definitely recommend it to everyone.My only complaint is, though, is the extra charge for gluten-free bread for folks with celiac autoimmune disease. Does not go along with the cheerful, inclusive-vibe the owner is trying to sell. I hope theyll look into it. Otherwise, great sandwiches!

The sandwich was good. I got the Madison Bumgarner with added red onions and jalapenos. Sandwich tasted better than it looked. Was disappointed in how it looked really rushed and thrown together granted they did seem to have quite a line of people and only two people working so have to cut them some slack for that. Besides that the flavors worked well together and I enjoyed it. Will be back in the future to try another one of their sandwiches.

I love IKEs sandwiches!! Lots of variety sandwiches veg and non vegetarian. I had veggie sandwich it was amazing taste. Cashier and gentlemen I think Jorden so nice and welcoming and they prepared quickly! Its in Davis little far away from me Napa but soon I will back and highly recommend must try!!

I stopped here on my way to Tahoe for a sandwich. Id heard about Ikes, I know a lot of people rave about it. They have a lot of veggie/ vegan options, which is nice. For me, the sandwich was too rich. The garlic dirty sauce is just too greasy for my taste. Its baked into the bread, so you cant avoid it. The veggies were fresh, and the staff was great. I dont eat any fast food, so my grease tolerance is very low. If you like places like McDonalds, Burger King, etc youll love this place.

Had #23, the Michael Jordan and honestly it was one of the worst meatball sandwich I had in a long time. Worst than Subway, and thats saying a lot. The meatballs were small, too few, so the ratio of meatballs to bread was all wrong. Too little cheese and marinara and the lettuce added nothing to the sandwich.Otherwise, the place was great. Not too busy (no line) and so food arrived pretty fast.Wish I had taken a picture, but don5 know if Ill be back here anytime soon. Too many good places in Davis to eat at.Honestly thats unfortunate b/c they have lots of sandwiches to choose from and they may have some good once....

It was full from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Yet everybody got their food quickly. The meatless ike and Giancarlo my son sandwiches were without question amazing. The meatless ikes was full of flavor and sauce without the sauce dripping out. The Giancarlo my son was full of pesto flavoring, cream cheese and the cucumber crunch topped it off. This place never disappoints!

I usually don’t leave reviews but this Ike’s was terrible. I wasn’t greeted at the door and the employees were really rude to me. The sandwich took 15+ minutes which is fine but they didn’t tell me it would be a wait. They didn’t ask for my name, so they didn’t announce when my order was ready. I was waiting for however long until I realized they put my sandwich in the to-go area. They also let a customer behind the counter to check on her Oder which seems unsanitary in my opinion. Overall, rude employees. Never coming back!

As a sandwich aficionado, I often give in to the thrall of a good sandwich shop, and I visit this spot several times a month. I can say Ive never had a bad sandwich from here. The ingredients are always fresh, the sandwich construction doesnt leave me a sticky mess or with gobs of sandwich filling on my plate (or on my shirt), and the flavors are well- balanced for a collegetown location. The service is very good--to the point and motivated to get your sandwich to you quickly.The menu can be daunting because it is so large. For someone like myself, this results in decision fatigue as I read through each option, trying to narrow down my selection. The menu could honestly be cut in half and still offer an array of options for all palates. Also, things can be a bit on the pricier side which might be a problem for some, but the quality makes up for the price.I cant speak for other locations in this chain, but this one is definitely worth a try. Beware though: parking can be scarce in the area, so be prepared to walk.

The customer service here is one of the best I have ever seen! Orlando was an excellent cashier, so friendly and genuine. He helped me figure out which sandwich was the best to order, and was so helpful in recommending which toppings would be best. Would highly recommend, definitely coming back here again.

This is the first negative review Ive ever written but my experience here was atrocious. I waited over a half hour for my sandwich before I asked the people behind the counter, neither of whom acknowledged me after looking up at me, how much longer it would be. They told me it would be at least another half hour. I understand if youre busy but you should let your customers know when they order that it will take over an hour to get their food. Its a quick service sandwich spot, you should be up front about delays like that.

Driving through town and searching for gluten free food. We found great reviews for Ikes. With fingers crossed we all picked our sandwiches, which was hard because theres so many yummy options to choose from. We were all amazed at how amazing our sandwiches were. A month later and back home in Montana and still talking about it and craving Ikes! Thank you for such a fabulous meal and solid high gives to the incredible customer service!

Ike’s is one of my favorite sandwich shops. Their options are affordable and filling. They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from, including vegan and halal options. I enjoyed the Aggie sandwich, which is only available at the Davis location. I loved it so much I ate here twice in my two day stay!

I went to this location before a quick walk and we received our sandwiches quickly and they stayed hot until we got to our picnic spot. I recommend any of the sandwiches with mozzarella sticks. It’s not as magical as the original sf location but I’m a fan of having a location closer to home!

Ikes sandwich has an impressively long menu with interesting exclusive sandwiches dependent on locations. They have great options for dietary restrictions and knowledgeable staff to answer questions. I recommend calling in your order rather than using their app if you want to be able to customize your sandwich. Positive review aside, they lost a star today for mislabeling my order of two sandwiches, leading a vegetarian to biting into real chicken. Fortunately it was quickly discovered and there were no allergies, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

Hard to rate this place less than 5 stars. Staff is cool and down to Earth. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from (vegan James and the giant peach is awesome). Watch out for the 0.75 surcharge, sometimes it gets charged to me, sometimes it doesnt, supposedly goes to workers benefits. Nice place to eat, and better than the subway it replaced

I have been here twice and gotten two different sandwiches each time and they have both been fantastic! They have a good mix of standard sandwiches and ones that are more on the odd side. There is usually a bit of a wait but from what Ive seen its just because there are so many people in line, which goes to show how good the food is.

A big disappointment compared to the original stores in the Bay Area. The customer service is very poor. The employees are undergraduates but continue to disappoint in the quality of service on each of my visits. There were instances where one employee was very condescending to me and made me repeat myself over and over because of his inability to remember simple orders. Only the sandwiches are the silver lining for meUpdate 6/29Ikes place in Davis, has disappointed me again! The employees got my order wrong. I paid 2 dollars extra just for a 7.98 sandwich.

Also, it takes them more than 15 minutes to make a sandwich at 11:30 in the morning with two customers and 4 people behind the counter. I dont get it. I come here now and then and every time Im disappointed, but I guess not enough to stop visiting entirely. its just not worth the wait and price honestly. This is a sandwich shop that varies tremendously from restaurant to restaurant. This shop in Davis has 3-4 times the number of kinds of sandwiches they offer on the menu compared to Fresno. While the variety was great, the differences in the sandwiches themselves was only slight. The bread is very good, but the sandwich did not look anything like the picture and lacked that fresh taste I was looking for. Perhaps my opinion was distorted by this loud talker behind me that made it difficult to converse at our table, but I give it only 3 1/2 stars.

Looking for a quick meal in Davis. Try Ikes. They have a huge selection of vegetarian sandwiches with quizzical names, and first rate ingredients.Make them vegan by leaving out the cheese. We had the Toad which tasted absolutely amazingly yummy. Its a no fuss place. The decor is definitely spartan but clean. The atmosphere: what youd expect from a place frequented by college students.

I have been to IKES sandwich shop a few times and each time I have absolutely loved their phenomenal sandwiches as well as their excellent customer service skills. The staff here treats everyone with the upmost respect and makes their sandwiches exactly as you like it. Extremely sanitary environment too! This evening, I brought my son in for a late lunch. One of the staff members who took our order, went out of her way to give me a free drink as we waited on my sons sandwich. Her name was Tamara, and she was both genorous and absolutely delightful to chat with for a few minutes. Best Sandwich Shop! We will definitely return, and highly recommend it to everyone.

Great sandwiches. Customer service also very good. Each order comes with a green apple sucker, too!Strange business practice to surcharge without directly asking the customer. They surcharge 75 cents on each order (reviews from 5 months ago indicate this used to be 50 cents). You can opt out of this surcharge IF you happen to notice it prior to ordering. They claim to use this surcharge to cover taxes, employee benefits, and increased costs.Everyone else in Davis has similar expenses, but I havent seen such a surcharge anywhere else.

Really good sandwiches, but for their 10$ price tag, they are a little pricey. If you are a student, come from 3-5 pm Monday thru Friday for HALF PRICE sandwiches. For 5$, these sandwiches are ridiculously good. My favorite is the Hot Mamma, or the Paul Reubens.

I called in an order today to find out that the prices are listed for $2 less on the menu. They already have the surcharge which they add before asking if youd rather not pay it (who would?), and now they raise their prices 25% and dont list it online. I wrestled for a bit on how to rate this place. The wait was ridiculously long. About 20 minutes without a line when I walked in.
