First time here but I am a sandwich lover so had to check it out. A wide selection of 30+ sandwiches. I got the Matt Cain of turkey, roast beef and salami with godfather sauce, (no idea what that is but good). Place was busy but quick. Sandwich was pretty plentiful and the Dutch Crunch bread is always awesome. Will definitely return. Oh, and you get a caramel apple lollipop with your sandwich too.

I am a regular customer at Ike’s in hillcrest and I order usually either Menage Trois or We are Just Friends.I tried this del mar location and I was very very disappointed. I got the Menage a Trois with Dutch bread. The bread was very dry, very minimal chicken and lettuce inside, no avocados. I prefer the hillcrest location.

The Paul Rubens here is just as good as my first one in San Jose. I went in for a late lunch and there were still crowds coming in. I love that they have really good gf bread.

The sandwiches at Ike’s are by far the best around! I got the Alex Smith this time and I have to say one of the best meat ball sandwiches I’ve had. Super friendly staff feel!! The store is always clean. I’m here at least twice a week highly recommend it!! A+++

This place use to be good but as of lately, it has been rotating employees and the sandwiches are not the same. I ordered a sandwich yesterday with French roll and I got home it was not French roll and it tasted different. I gave my buddy the other half and he too did not like it. So sad because this was one of my favorite places go to for lunch.

Delicious sandwiches. The best anywhere.My only issue and its a big one that made me eat here way less often than I used to, the board with the options and prices has been outdated for a year. Its hard to know what the sandwiches cost, making it impossible to consider price when deciding. To post one price and charge another feels unfair and even manipulative.

I stopped in to Ikes Del Mar for the first time yesterday. Amazing food and exceptionally friendly staff! The manager was involved and present with the staff and customers. He was very kind and high energy. I will definitely be back!

DO NOT GET GIFT CARDS AT IKES!They just stole $100 from me.Bought 5 gift cards for 20$ each 10.25.22. My son returned one to me saying it didnt work. Today 12.22.22 I went to store and nice guy at counter called manager who called their boss who said that despite me having receipt and cards, they could only offer free sandwich coupons that expire 12.31.22 and would not refund or reissue the gift cards.

I LOVE Ikes ❣️ I was turned on to their incredible Sandwiches up in Fresno when visiting my Son. I was very excited to find out Ikes is opening more locations in San Diego and that theyre conveniently located to places I frequent too ❣️😁 Their Dutch Crunch bread they make in house is amazing and their Yellow BBQ sauce is awesome❣️Sooooo many choices... they also have a lot of choices for Vegetarian and Vegan peeps if youre so inclined. Give them a try I think youll be happy you did!!

Sandwiches taste good.Drawback is they are super slow. There are more than 5,6 staff, but they were just chatting with each other and only one person was working. That’s why you have to wait at least 20 min each time to get your sandwich after ordering.

First time experiencing the cult of Ike’s and I’m impressed. So many great options it’s overwhelming, but ended up going with the Hunter Pence. The Dutch Crunch bread is awesome, the meats are super good and the sauces are a perfect match. Can’t wait to try others on the menu. Thanks Ike!

Was really excited to visit Ike’s after not having eaten there since college a few years ago. When we showed up on Saturday evening (yesterday) around 7 and they loudly announced they had a $200 order and it would be at least a 30 min wait. We determined we were willing to wait and went to go order. However, we ended up standing at the counter for 5+ mins waiting for someone to take our order while the 3 staff (2 males & a female) were right there next to us just totally ignoring the fact that we still wanted to get our order in- it was like getting ghosted in person. During this time other people would walk in line and they would only break their “ghosting” to shout “we have a $200 order it’s gonna be at least 30 mins” while proceeding to STILL not take our order or at least say that they won’t be taking orders. The bearded guy in the chiefs shirt clearly wanted to create an uninviting situation to make people leave instead, which they did when they saw they wouldn’t even take our order at the front of the line. So rude. So, we decided to sit down until they were ready to take our order. About 15 mins later someone walks in and they decide to take their order. It really rubbed us the wrong way that 1. They wouldn’t even acknowledge they weren’t going to take orders, and 2. They knew we were waiting to order and then took someone else’s order knowing we were waiting. Only then did we get in line to take our order. Sandwiches were good but we spent an hour there, where more than half the time was spent with treatment like they wanted us to go away. Oh yeah, we never even saw the person come in for their $200 order that needed to be ready in 30 mins during the hour we were there. Overall, I was disappointed they so heavily prioritized their online order over the people coming in. I’d be more understanding if they had been polite about the situation and taken our order so we could at least get our order “in line” for when they could get started on it. Oh yeah, there weren’t any Carmel apple pops anymore either. These two stars are only because I love the vegetarian options.

Excellent sandwiches. The menu offers a vast selection of sandwiches. They use fresh ingredients and do not hold back on portions. The different sandwiches have some interesting combinations. I plan to return to Ikes frequently moving forward. I am guessing I will end up sampling a great many items on that menu. Cheers!!

Fairly good sandwich but as others have noted, really pricey. they have a huge menu on the wall when you walk in and conveniently in the top corner it says prices may vary. however, i find it really dishonest when sandwiches are an extra $1-2 more than whats on their menu. ordered a madison bumgarner and on the wall its listed as 12.95. order rang up to 14.41, before tax, so ended up paying close to $16 for 1 sandwich.

I love ikes sandwiches but this location left a lot to be desired. The fries were raw, literally uncooked. The Dutch crunch bread hardly had any crunch to it and felt like eating untoasted bread. I will NOT recommend this location although i have enjoyed sandwiches regularly from other ikes outlets.

So I absolutely love Ike’s and eat it often. I was so excited when this location opened up closer to me so that I could finally get it delivered since I live in range. However, for the past month this location has been marked “closed” on DoorDash and all other delivery platforms, which is so unfortunate because I am not always able to pick it up. I suspect they are loosing out on many sales because of this.Regarding the other reviews about poor customer service.. I did notice that the first few months, especially this one girl was so abrasive when I ordered on the phone. Sounded like she was mad at me and it was a nuisance to be doing her job.Lately though it has been improving and seems like they’ve hired some talented sandwich makers with positive attitudes.I want to give the workers benefit of the doubt since they may not have received sufficient training from management. The opening was pushed backed from its original date by 3 months so maybe they had trouble with staffing.As a marketing coordinator I can tell they need help with their online presence, such as marking the business as open on delivery platforms and responding to their reviews on Yelp.

Unfortunately waited 45 minutes for a single sandwich I placed online. I went up to the counter and asked if my order was ready and was informed that they didn’t have my ticket/order. At that point they had run out of turkey so had to reorder a new sandwich with chicken. After another 10 minutes was told they had no more chicken. Simply asked for a refund at that point. Disappointing as it was my first experience with them and still haven’t been able to try one of their sandwiches. Wish I hadn’t waited an hour to leave empty handed. Hopefully I will be able to try a sandwich soon and not have to wait too long for it.

First time here because it was my first full day of work at my office close by, I figured I familiarize myself with the nearest sandwhich spot so I can see if it would be a good go-to for my lunches. Little did I know getting there, waiting 30 minutes for the food, and then driving back would take my entire lunch break and then some. Now (clients think I’m doing work stuff, right now but I’m typing this review) my sandwhich is getting cold because I didn’t get a fair chance to even take a bite. I get it’s lunch hour. But it’s a $20 sandwhich including the tip and tax, at least prioritize the ones with tip. Holy cow. Will be trying croutons next and if all fails, good ol subway will always be there.I can’t review the food yet because I haven’t taken a bite!!! Hahaha :/

Location is always crazy slow even when youre the only customer it takes forever. The fewer people in the restaurant the louder they play the music. With the poor quality speakers it is just intrusive to say the least. Do not dine in her unless youre interested in hearing loss. 150-180db is too much for a restaurant, this was measured at the furthest point away from the speaker in the dining room. They need to add a speaker in the back of they want music back there instead of torturing customers.

I love Ike’s - but this location is horrible!! I was stoked to see that an Ike’s opened closer to north county San Diego! I went down there today to get a sandwich and try my long-time favorite- The Steve Jobs. Unfortunately it was the worst Steve Jobs I’ve ever had.To begin - the bread was different than the usual Dutch Crunch. It was much thicker, spongy/chewier - and made up most of the sandwich. Definitely not the way their DC typically is. The toppings were lacking – there were just two small pieces of eggplant on the whole thing and paired with mountains of lettuce... The worst part was that unfortunately both pieces of eggplant were VERY undercooked and chewy AF which is the worst way to eat eggplant.Sandwich was a 1 out 10 when it’s usually a 10/10 from other locations. I hope this is just a learning curve for being a new location, but I will only be visiting SD and OC locations moving forward.NOTE: They suppressed my review the first time I posted it... 🤡

It used to be my daughter favorite place for sandwiches, but lately the quality have dropped tremendously, went this week and noticed that the bread was old, the vegetables specially the tomato wasnt fresh and the sandwich that was supposed to come with artichoke came with none. I ordered two sandwiches online and only received one. These two sandwiches cost $30.56 (including tip)! I called immediately and they said that I can come and get a new sandwich when ever I wanted. I came today later on and I was denied my sandwich (which really is the the other half of my order). THIS PLACE STOLE MY MONEY! Their closing time is 9pm not 9:30 like Google says. Regardless, at 8:45pm they have the store closed down and refuse service to their guests despite this discrepancy. So realistically should update closing time to 8:30 or 8:45 to stop any customers from coming in.

Ordered a sandwich for my daughter and said I wanted soft bread such as white bread for a 5 year old.After 16 minutes (yes I started to look at my watch) Got dutch Crunch instead. when I asked about the bread I was told sorry.she actually opend her sandwich and dumped it on the paper in order to eat it. after spending $40 on a few ounces of meat, had to go Mcdonalds for a happy meal. Every once in a while, it’s so rare, you find someone that is so amazing you feel the review needs to be about them. Yes the food here is amazing and I love Ike’s. But the manager here is beyond amazing. The nicest person you could ever meet. He greets every customer with a genuine smile and deeply cares about the guests.I haven’t seen such an amazing employee in decades. I was literally blown away watching him work.
