The best boutique inn we have ever stayed at.Before you check in you are getting notes helpful guides, and even a calendar invite for your services.Then you check in..The person that checked us in was amazing she was an angel.She treated us so well.When we got up to the room it was all set up special with candles, aromatic diffusers, food plate on and on.Every morning we would get a cute little basket of goodies which we would enjoy while discovering the grounds.So much to enjoy, see, yet relax....The place is immaculate perfectly maintained and clean.Absolutely beautiful!I would recommend the foot baths and a massage!That alone I could write a review on. Needless to say they employ the bestThank you for an unforgettable, relaxing staycation!
Just stayed two nights and loved it. Unique and excellent service - very laid back and very attentive at the same time. The meditative vibe is welcome after a day on the road. Nice rooms, with the best shower and bath experience ever. Very cool that everything here (toiletries, foods, candles) comes from the Inn’s gardens. Get a massage!
We spent our honeymoon relaxing here and it is exactly what we needed. From the wellness tea to the candles and incense everywhere to the breakfast delivered in the picnic basket, every detail was well thought out and so beautiful. We will definitely be back!
We were in town for a very quick visit so the location was key. This Inn is a gem located just minutes from restaurants, shops, bars, and beach. Their attention to detail was evident from the check in process to the cleanliness and decor of the rooms to the breakfast that arrived at our doorstep in a beautifully picnic basket. It’s a very quiet and peaceful vibe so I would not recommend going with boisterous kids in tow, but otherwise appropriate for everyone.
Loved this place. Arriving to beautiful candles, an aromatherapy mister, a noise machine with ocean sounds and a pot of licorice tea was incredible. Wish I could have stayed a week not just two nights.It’s an easy walk to the beach. It is close to the train tracks, but I found if I closed the door and left the noise machine on it didn’t bother my sleep at all. They also thoughtfully left out some earplugs as well.Highly recommend!

The most relaxing Tuesday night of my life! I was welcomed with hot tea, and all the ingredients and instructions for a flower bath in a beautiful soaking tub. It was only a night to relax but we’ll be back for a longer stay
The Inn was so much more than a place to stay… it was an experience! Every detail was so thoughtfully planned, and we can’t decide what we loved more… the bath ritual, the tea provided in the room, the sound machine, the breakfast that arrived on our doorstep, the beautiful and serene surroundings… and did we mention, the Tesla charging station? Safe to say we’ll be back, only a matter of when.
We booked a spontaneous staycation here (we live in town) and it was so great! What I appreciate most is the attention to sustainability and the lovely touches like the fresh herbs (from their biodynamic garden onsite!) and Epsom salt bath provisions beautifully arranged over the epic soaking tub, and the fresh pot of tea warmed over candle light awaiting you in the room with a mini snack board of fruits/veggies/herbs from the garden. The morning breakfast basket at the door was lovely and the options were very considerate of food preferences/allergies too. It was very quiet for being right off of Vulcan (even the passing trains weren’t a nuisance with the sound machine running). The bed and sheets are impeccably comfy and the robes add a nice touch for a cozy experience. We went out for a walk into Leucadia for lunch and it was so great to be so close to some of our favorite jaunts. The staff were also very inviting and communicative. If you’re looking for a stay that is quaint and considerate of wellness, then this is your spot.
This stay was a perfect 2 day getaway! We really appreciated all the friendly staff, the very cozy rooms accompanied by a small patio where we could eat and relax on during nice sunny days, and the really great teas, bath salts, complimentary breakfast, little snacks counter in the lounge and free (need to reserve) honey tasting which helped us discover our new love - chilli honey. We also did a private yoga session with Komala which was very relaxing and couples massage with Komala and Yumi who were amazing! The only slight let down was the herb & vege garden that we were hoping to get a nice tasty salad from, however most of the plants and herbs were gone:( perhaps not in season right now? Overall a really nice 2 day retreat, would recommend to utilise the packages in order to have a fulfilling experience. Would visit again!
We loved our stay here! Friendly staff, great room, amazing atmosphere. It’s how I wish I could live everyday. Everything they do is considered from a healthy perspective. Also it’s only a short walk to the downtown. We’ll make it an every year trip.
I came for a quick two night stay and did not want to leave. Everything here is impeccable! I loved all of the attention to detail and integration of nature. My room and all of the grounds all felt so tranquil and beautiful. I’ll definitely be back!
The Inn provided a beautiful and relaxing stay for us. The attention to detail was truly amazing! We loved the healthy foods, massages, and quiet ambience. Highly recommend… we felt like we were in a bungalow in Indonesia or something tropical and exotic.

We had an unbelievable stay here… we ended up here by accident because our Airbnb was double booked (!) and this place reminded me that sometimes it’s a blessing when things don’t go according to plan.Beautiful touches during check in, the breakfast baskets were incredible, the tea, the yoga/meditation space — such a special place.Don’t hesitate to book your stay — you will LOVE it!

Inn at moonlight beach was the perfect escape for my friend and me! So many sweet nooks outside to sit and chat or read. The hospitality was fantastic. It felt like we were in a secret garden. Magical!
My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Inn at Moonlight Beach. It is one of the most thoughtfully designed boutique hotels I’ve ever been to. Kind of like if the owner of the hotel actually lived in the space and thought of all the details. They also had a wonderful breakfast picnic basket full of fresh fruit, juices, and muffins each morning left outside the door. Would definitely stay here again!
I just returned home from a few days at the Moonlight Inn…Positives:* The staff was incredible! Luisa, Lexi, Camilla and Komola. They all went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and enjoying my time.* The gardens and surrounding areas were beautiful.* The concept of the B&B is phenomenal.Downsides* Location- This is not the Moonlight Inn’s fault, but should definitely be known if you stay here. The location is on a very busy stretch of road and is not really walkable at all. The beach is about a 5-7 minute walk, but you are walking through incredibly busy intersections of traffic.The Inn is right on the path of the train tracks and the commuter train runs all day and night and honking the horn. This makes it impossible to have the sliding glass door open at all. They provide ear plugs and a sound machine- but that doesn’t feel very relaxing, nor does it eliminate the noise.* Room selection- I selected a “Ocean-view “ room and even if I stood on the chair on the expansive balcony- I could not see the ocean…. This felt a bit mis-leading.*Amenities There is no restaurant on-site. This is important to know if like me you don’t have a car.* Breakfast- I loved the cute way in which Breakfast was presented each day, and when you make your weekly selection at the start of your stay- an option for To-go is presented. I selected the To-Go option on my last day, but then when I asked about taking the glass containers- to go… I was told no. I understand that.. but to go should include containers that can be taken to-go.Security*. There is nobody at the Inn after 6 PM…this might not be an issue for people traveling in a group, but as a solo traveler it was unsettling. One night I walked down to the beach at sunset.. and when I was returning at dark, a truck stopped on the street apparently waiting for me to walk by. I waited until they kept driving (several minutes)… and then upon returning to the Inn… I realized how scary that felt to have the Inn so open and accessible.I hate writing this review, but I felt that this information should be provided for anyone else planning a trip as a solo female traveler.
Everything about the Inn at Moonlight beach was so thoughtfully curated - from the communications leading up to our stay, to the beautiful landscaping and grounds when we arrived, to the flower and herb bath soak provided in the rooms. The staff was extremely hospitable and worked with us to secure last minute lodging as well! Definitely coming back.
I absolutely loved this property! We got wonderful massages and did the olive oil and herb creation class. The food was great & all of the details they infuse into the experience were exceptional
I came here for a little weekend getaway with my best friends, & they took such good care of us! The hotel is 10 min away from everything we wanted to do on the trip. The Inn itself is so peaceful and so beautiful. Our favorite part was the delicious breakfast & the nourishing tea that they so thoughtfully prepared for us. Absolutely divine. I stayed here to rest and retreat from busy mom life. I felt incredibly nurtured and was able to deeply relax thanks to the zen, comfortable space and detailed touches. It’s quiet. I could hear birds chirping. The bed was super comfortable. I was welcomed with hot tea and healthy snacks in my room. A candle was lit in the bathroom where a delightful lavender bath soak awaited me. It’s in a super convenient location with easy walking distance to Moonlight beach and around the corner from a fantastic gourmet grocery. I’ll definitely be back. I stayed in Sweet Bay and it was such a cozy, wonderful room.

Cant say enough about the Inn. Staying here has been like going on a personal retreat. It is eco-friendly, without being pushy, herbal baths, infused natural honey, gorgeous flowers and trees, and everyone on staff has been delightful. It is a wonderful oasis in the midst of Encinitas 2 blocks from the beach. Cant wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The garden was magical, the teas and gift shop are so lovely. I brought my daughter who is a toddler and we had a fantastic time at the beach! Super walkable to town, the beds were comfortable and breakfast baskets made the start of the day wonderful. We loved it! Will go back! Also great service, very sweet staff and hospitable.

What a great stay! All the extras make you feel right at home and very relaxed. We loved the breakfasts delivered to your doorstep in a cute little basket, all the snacks from the garden, the daily tea, the herbal tea bath, the super hot showers, and all the artsy things to do. Only drawbacks - the parking lot was a little tough to navigate, staff is only there 7am-6pm, and the bathroom in our suite was a little mildewy (probably just because beach weather + steamy showers). Will definitely come back!!

9 out of 10, the reason we gave a 9 was the parking situation wasn’t easy, very tight and if we parked in the lot across the street it was super dark walking in the street ( o sidewalk) at night back to the Inn. The room was a little crowded with the big couch in the room. We would have much rather it had either 2 chairs or a regular small love seat couch. Everything else was very nice, the employees, the breakfast, the bed was comfortable, the location was good, the room was clean, the shower had hot water, ice bathtub for soaking, enough storage for plenty of clothes, nice and quiet too, easy to sleep even with the train going by at weird hours nearby. Will definitely stay there when we go back to California! 💛🦋🥰
There are very few places to stay in the Encinitas area, and this is such a fun little boutique retreat experience! The more you let yourself live in the space, the better. The provide baskets for you to collect your own herbs (for teas, food, bath bags) and have a makers station where you can make adorable little plant keepsakes to take home. The room was extremely relaxing with a tea brewing when we walked in alongside some really cute little snacks. We slept SO GOOD! You can tell both the owner and staff of the Inn puts their heart and soul into every element of the property, in hopes that guests will truly soak it all up. We didnt use any of the beach gear or other equipment offered since it was pretty chilly, but the signs indicate theyd have all kinds of stuff if you needed it! My husband and I loved having our breakfast outside on the patio, listening to the birds and the sounds from the fountain nearby. If youre looking for a special place with some really beautiful and considered touches, I fully recommend checking out the Inn!

Awesome sustainable getaway in the heart of Encinitas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with a beautiful tea infused bath and massages! Great way to decompress after the holidays. Not to mention the water was filtered throughout the inn and we could drink out of the faucet and feel good about the water being clean.
Most relaxing stay! The staff were so kind and the entire experience was absolutely perfect. We really enjoyed the homemade organic soaps, the pot of herbal wellness tea in our room, and the beautiful homegrown-flowers that decorated the room. The organic breakfast was delicious and the herbal flower bath add-on was divine ❤️

My wife and I stayed here for New Years Eve.The place is cozy, welcoming, and the whole atmosphere is extremely relaxing.They deliver beautiful breakfast in a cute basket in the morning, there are big, deep bathtubs with flowers and herbs to soak in. Its wonderful.Perfect location, too, right by the beach with all restaurants less than 10 mins walk.Well be back.

Convenient location in Encinitas. We stayed two nights. Their focus on holistic healing through food and anesthetics was novel and enjoyable. The place needs a nit of maintenance, though. Our heating unit didnt work, and it was cold. They supplied a space heater.
Alexis. Alexis was why it was excellent. Aside from the outstandingly relaxing vibe, the decor, the aromas, the proximity to the beach, the complementary beach chairs and towels, gardens on the premises, and intimate meditation gardens, Alexis brought it all together. We had a misunderstanding upon check-in that nearly short-circuited our experience. It wasn’t Alexis’ fault, but she had to deal with it. She was rockstar. Like a professional that truly represented the vibe and mission of the Inn, she resolved the issue and facilitated our absolutely remarkable and memorable experience. We will be back - not just because the beds are extremely comfortable, or because the water pressure in the shower was amazing, or because the complementary breakfast was delicious and healthy, or because the entire Inn has a whole house filtration system and you can drink straight from any tap on the property - but, because of Alexis and how she and the staff went out of their way to take care of us.
Exceeds my expectations! This little boutique inn is a unique and beautiful retreat that invites you to relax, get rejuvenated and rest. Their herb, flower, succulent and food gardens are exquisite. Attention to every detail is given in this natural warm environment. Don’t let the higher price rates keep you away. It’s well worth it. The sounds of the passing trains remind me of past trips via railway.
Cute little hotel with thoughtful touches like wellness tea, daily breakfast brought to your rooms, a tub soak, sound machine, diffuser, and a pack and play for my baby! It is close to a train but it didn’t bother us much. Close to downtown Encinitas and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The Inn at Moonlight Beach was a charming, relaxing and beautiful location for our long weekend. Our room was comfortable, clean, peaceful and was filled with special touches. The breakfast baskets each morning were delicious and we enjoyed them on the patio or lounging in the room- the food was healthy and delicious. Our charcuterie board was a gorgeous meal unto itself and was a nice way to begin our time. We booked massages and they were wonderfully relaxing and I booked an additional one the next day. We enjoyed walking to the beach and to shops and restaurants. It is a quaint, restful and peaceful location and we look forward to staying again.

The Inn at moonlight beach has been my wife and I’s go to staycation spot for years now. It’s such a beautiful and tranquil boutique inn. So much intention has been put into this place: from the Lounge, to the bath soaps and lotions.We love how quiet it is. You really feel sense of calmness, especially if you are trying to escape from everyday work life. Coming here really allows us to decompress from our busy schedule.The staff here is also very attentive. We always feel so well taken care of. All of our needs and requests are promptly met and more. It always feels so special checking in. The fruit and chocolate board with fresh brewed herbal tea is such a nice touch!Highly recommend the inn at moonlight beach if you want to get away to a quiet tranquil stay that’s minutes away from the beach.

This place is a MAGICAL GEM!!! Stayed here for two nights and loved every single second. The property is completely zen-ed out and the perfect place to escape reality for a bit. Everything from the meditation deck to the herb garden to the fire pit and to our personal patio space was so relaxing! Stayed in one of the garden rooms, which was plenty space for two adults. Really enjoyed all of the special details in the room. It was awesome to walk into our room for the first time and see the wellness tea and chocolate/fruit platter waiting for us, both of which were so delicious. I chose this place as a getaway versus a bigger hotel because I wanted to stay in a small place with less people to be safer during this pandemic and also to support a small business. We felt completely safe the entire time, hardly saw anyone, and anytime we saw staff they were always wearing masks which I super appreciated! The cherry on top of our stay here was the helpfulness and kindness of Morgan!!! Right from the moment we got there her warmth made us feel incredibly welcome and right at home, and her thoughtfulness throughout our entire stay was so appreciated. We knew right away that we wanted to come back here soon. We now have so many wonderful memories because of the Inn at Moonlight Beach and couldn’t recommend this place enough!!!

This is a very special place. Everything here comes together to create a harmonious experience, from the decor, which is soothing & cool, to the plants which are plentiful and green, to the in-room tea which was warm & relaxing. The Inn is simply a great place to slow down.The complimentary basket of healthy breakfast picks, like green juice and banana bread (and homemade jam & honey) certainly add to the charm. As well as the bottom floor garden units where we stayed (Mint Room) that allowed a cozy morning coffee break. There are tables outside as well where we played cards & had snacks.The rooms come equipped w/ glasses, plates & cutlery making it easy for us to have meals in our room. The beds are very comfy & the showers (& pressure) we’re also great. The Inn provides towels & other beach items which helped us supplement as we didn’t bring enough for our entire stay. Perhaps the cutest part of the place is that you can plant your own take home succulent garden which my family did on the day we left. Don’t forget to book a massage they are performed onsite in a peaceful atmosphere.

What can I say except this was an amazing place to stay! We had our wedding in the San Diego area (we’re from Chicago) and had stumbled across this beautiful place. We chose to book it for our mini moon and are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the Inn at Moonlight Beach was so calming and relaxing. Which is exactly what we needed after planning our wedding for over 2 years because of covid! We were greeted with a yummy tray of treats and tea. The flower bath is heaven. Not to mention the breakfast that is delivered in a wicker basket every morning. Their pink guava mint jam is what dreams are made of! We even bought some to go home and it lasted probably under 2 weeks. I also got a massage in their gardens and it was amazing. I could go on and on, but this place is worth every penny and we’ll be back!

Everyone is so warm that works there and it’s a special experience. There are a lot of thoughtful touches and the walkability is amazing!
From the moment you drive up, you know that you are in for a special experience. As you walk out of your car you instantly feel relaxed as a large variety of plants and herbs greet you. When you enter, there is a simultaneous feeling of both relaxion and excitement as the smell of lavender and rosemary sweeps you senses, and every room seems created to make you feel good. The inn keepers were such a delight, and you clearly see the joy in their work. I was so impressed with the love and care for the garden in and around the hotel, which has variety of species of plants and feels like an extension of the botanical gardens. I have never seen a black bamboo before! I’m a foodie so my favorite moment was enjoying the welcome package of champaign and charcuterie board with organic chocolates and herb infused honey served from the local farm. Everything was just phenomenal and made my family and I laugh and really have a great time. As we were enjoying the champaign (and apple cider) my 5-year-old son shouted, “This is the best moment of my life” and I think it was also one of mine.

Our family loved the serene feel on the Inn. The beds and sheets - including for our kids on the pullout couches were phenomenal. Really high quality. The breakfast baskets were delicious. The garden is lovely and since gardening is such a hobby of mine as well, I loved to share my joy of it with othersWe also were invited to do a honey tasting and I LOVED all the delicious flavors. I can tell that so much love and intention was put into this inn and it is such a refreshing place in the midst of such a busy world.What a beautiful gem! I loved the noise machines in the room, tea baths they offered, and even the itty snacks they left for us.LOVE LOVE LOVED IT HERE
The website doesnt do this place justice, it was such a wonderful retreat! Maryanne was an excellent host...she greeted me in person (with mask), and was very responsive via text messages. Each room has a deep soak tub...to me, that made the trip. I highly recommend the tea and fresh flower bath add on...just heaven! Each room also has its own patio or balcony with rocker, cushioned chair and table. Perfect for watching the sunset and having a fresh flower foot soak. It felt like every detail for the senses was considered...the landscaping and views were just visually beautiful, as was the room. The room had a lot of amenities but did not look or feel cluttered. Same with the grounds, really. Its private and calm. Himalayan salt lamp for low warm room light at night. Everything smelled amazing due to the fresh herbs and subtle aromatherapy diffuser in the room. Dont miss the eucalyptus spray in your shower! Its like youre at your own private spa. The inn is across from the train line but the room had a white noise machine that was already on when I arrived. It helped set the mood, and I found the sounds very relaxing. Train noise was not audible from inside my room. The towels and bed linens felt amazing. Definitely recommend the happy hour cheese plate...fresh honey and olive oil were delicious! So was the breakfast delivered the following morning. I wish I could have stayed more than one night, but even after just one night I felt restored. I will be back, thank you!

BEAUTIFUL OASIS! The Inn is gorgeously crafted with sustainable architecture, comforting furniture, a welcoming open air hallway, and plenty of space for yoga or meditation all around the property. Its very vegan-centric so you can decide if that works for you or not. It is pricey but you get a lot of herbs and snacks in the packages. All employees were very sweet and accommodating. The sheets are the softest I have ever felt at a hotel...normally I hate leaving my nice bed at home but this one was glorious. Lovely getaway with my family.

We love the vibe at the Inn at Moonlight Beach. Not only is the staff extremely attentive, the location of the Inn is terrific. We walked and biked each day we were there. We added a snack, champagne and massage package that was totally worth it. The breakfast each morning was delicious and we purchased many of the homemade honey and teas to bring home as gifts. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and provide a zen space for you to relax.

So relaxing and nourishing. It was an exquisite wellness break that uplifted my soul. Every detail of this place has been thought through, giving me a Zen-like experience. I loved the hot bath with fresh flowers and herbs, the food plates and baskets I ordered, and the quiet wood-panel room. My mind just relaxed. I used my two days there to write in my journal, read my spiritual book and meditate. Everything there supported my retreat. Wow!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn at Moonlight Beach for his 50th birthday. We felt that based on the size of the property and the commitment to wellness that we would be safe here. It was tranquil and blissful. The rooms are spacious, clean and well air-conditioned. The patio off of our room was beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. I loved our bathtub. I arranged for a charcuterie board for our arrival. It was abundant with cheese, meats, fruits and nuts. The Inn provided bags of herbs and real flowers to put in the bath. That was a fabulous experience. The kitchenette is well stocked with amenities. The breakfast was delicious. The owner was on hand to give us a tour of the property. We picked fruit grown on the property in their bio-dynamic farm. There is also a firepit and seating area to enjoy an evening outdoors with smores. Yum. We loved that. The main drag of town, Encinitas, is just a few blocks away as is the beach. We had dinner in Encinitas during our stay and went to the beach prior to the arrival. It was a wonderful experience. We cannot wait to go back.
Outstanding! Inn at Moonlight Beach is such a blissful sanctuary with myriad thoughtful and kind special touches - chocolate mandalas!! Yes please. We were welcomed and felt connected with Nature from the very moment we arrived on property. The Innkeepers are delightful hostesses - caring for our every need. The massage service, herbal bath soaks and even a foot bath in the garden made it the perfect retreat! We will be back and plan to make a tradition.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for three nights over Presidents Day weekend. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the grounds and gardens are full of little surprises. We especially liked sitting on our porch watching the sun set.It is also within walking distance of the beach and many Encinitas restaurants.The staff is very responsive and accommodating and we couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in this area, particularly for those who prefer a smaller more intimate experience.We look forward to returning especially after COVID restrictions when we can enjoy all that the Inn has to offer. Highly recommended.
We are locals and had a staycation on Valentines Day. We couldnt have had a lovelier experience. The staff was thoughtful and response times were great. The room was beautiful!! We walked into prepared tea, lit tea candles, a little board with edible flowers and chocolate covered strawberries. This was unexpected and delicious. The grounds are perfectly landscaped with herbs and flowers. We did the tea bath add on which was just lovely in their large soaking tub. A form to select your breakfast is provided, with easy submission of simply texting a photo. Our breakfast was cutely packed and waiting for us when we awoke. We enjoyed our breakfast on the patio, overlooking the gardens. Everything is locally sourced from honey to fresh juices. Youll feel good about supporting this business and youll have a great and relaxing time.We couldnt have had a nicer experience and will absolutely be back.
As soon as I entered onto the property I knew I would never want to leave! My three day stay at the Inn at Moonlight Beach was an incredible experience that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the town or simply have a relaxing and rejuvenating stay. This inn has so many caring details that you just don’t find anywhere else. The freshly harvested tea bath bags (from their garden!!), the harvesting basket, the freshly cut fruit from the garden in the lounge area (amongst many other snacks), the incredibly soft sheets and the generous and kind staff were all details that made my experience at the inn spectacular. I am so looking forward to my next stay! Thank you Inn at Moonlight Beach for creating such an authentic and unique experience that allowed to me fully relax!
We stayed in this wonderful place last week. Judging from the pictures in the lobby, three years ago this small hotel was run down, ugly, and totally lacking in charm. But the new owner, with amazing vision, has magically transformed it into a welcoming place of beauty and serenity, surrounded by herbs and other, often edible, landscaping. Definitely a worthwhile destination in its own right, it is also walking distance from both the beach and a variety of good restaurants, and a short drive from one of the top botanical gardens in the country, the San Diego Botanic Garden.
We stayed one night and instantly fell in love with this Inn. The lobby is large, open and the most inviting lobby Ive ever set foot in. The art and decor is very thoughtful and I was instantly comfortable and impressed.After entering our suite, I was blown away by how every detail was exactly how I would personally prefer it.All of the water is filtered, even the shower. They offer Organic Tea, healthy snacks and even have an essential oil diffuser going when you walk in the door. The patio outside of the kitchen had a lovely view of the garden and meditation space, it was lovely to look out while sipping tea in the morning.I would refer this place to any friends or family staying in San Diego. Wonderful location and a beautiful property!
Stunning little gem in Encinitas. Beautiful, quite, clean and very relaxing. Room has everything you need and smells amazing. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Grounds are beautiful. For breakfast we got toast, hard boiled eggs, overnight oats, green juice, yogurt with granola and fruit. We will definitely be back.

This was a fantastic little, one of a kind Inn. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. It is cozy and tranquil, full of great little touches like a pot of hot tea in your room upon arrival and breakfast baskets delivered to your door each morning. There are lots of restaurants and great beaches nearby, or you could read a book on your private deck or meditate in the gardens. When I think of zen, this is the new standard and if peaceful is what you are looking for, this is the place to stay.

Tucked away in a lush garden setting on the side of a hill lies this wonderful retreat that focuses on connecting with nature and with oneself. We had a one night reservation so we got there right around the 3pm check-in time to make the most of our stay. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The property was smaller than I thought it would be, but the fact that the Inn is only a 6 room bed and breakfast adds to the intimacy of the place, and made it feel so cozy. The property and our room was so clean, and the Covid measures they had in place felt very safe and made me feel comfortable. We stayed in the Rosemary room which is one of the rooms on the bottom level. The room had an outside deck to sit at which overlooked the outside gardens which is a shared common space for the other rooms as well. A couple of guests were enjoying the outside table next to the water feature the next morning, but that did not bother me, and the deck still felt fairly private at night. The garden was lovely to walk through and you can feel free to clip some fresh herbs from the garden to enjoy at home. There are many succulent plants growing there, and you can purchase them to take home, with the smallest plants starting at two dollars.The holistic vibe continues with a focus on the healing energy of nature such as through crystals, for instance there is a large selenite globe in your room, and you can purchase other crystals from the small display cases in the lobby. I purchased some honey, fresh preserves, and bath salts to take home. The room was very comfortable with a sitting area, and a nice kitchenette including a microwave, dishes, and utensils.The bed was very comfy and I slept wonderfully. The humidifier, and the sound machine, which you could change to hear sounds of the ocean, rainfall, etc, added to the relaxing vibe. There was a very large flat screen TV, but did not feel the need to turn it on because it was so peaceful just listening to the sound machine, or my bluetooth speaker I brought from home, or the croaking of the frogs out in the garden at night. The included herbal flower tea bath set was a great way to end the day in the deep soak bathtub, tea light candles are also provided to add to the ambiance. The included fresh herbal tea setup served in a clear glass kettle that is kept warm over a tea light burner, as well as a snack plate with dried fruits, nuts, and organic chocolates, is a lovely welcome in your room upon check in. Breakfast is delivered outside your room in the morning. It is not a hot breakfast, but was still a very delicious assortment of items such as yogurt parfaits, bakery goods, fruit, and boiled eggs, which you can pre-select the night before. In addition to the many complimentary offers, the availability of the various add-ons is a great way to enhance the experience of your stay. For my birthday stay here I added the herbal foot soak which is enjoyed out on the deck, and was served with more hot herbal tea to enjoy. I also added the Full Moon package which included extras such as a large charcuterie board, sparkling wine, a large fresh flower bouquet from the garden, a meditation kit including items such as a selenite stone, and complementary late checkout. The Inn is a short walk to Moonlight Beach, be sure to stop at the very unique rock garden on your way there. The nearby Cottonwood Creek park was lovely to stroll through, and downtown Encinitas is a short walk away as well. Just be advised that there is no sidewalk from the Inn down to the street corner, so be aware of cars, or when walking at night. I walked to nearby Chiko, they served delicious Asian fusion cuisine and brought it back to our room, but you can also have food delivered to the Inn from one of the nearby restaurants if you don’t want to walk at night. I would highly recommend the Inn at Moonlight Beach for anyone looking for a peaceful place to relax and recharge!
Wow! Who knew there is such an amazing and relaxing place to stay right down the street. After driving by their sign countless times, we finally decided to stay the night here and we couldnt be more happy that we did. Walking distance to some of our favorite restaurants and the room was amazing. All the little extras, snacks, drinks and common space was incredible. The mattress was super comfy and pillows were great too. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. I cant wait to have friends and family visit so they can stay here!
Very nice rooms and common areas inside. It is closer to a busy road than we realized, so its a bit noisy with the patio door open. Sound generators are used to help create a more calming atmosphere, but its only partly successful. Breakfast options are just OK. Its a mix of crunchy granola-style vegan baked goods and Quaker instant oatmeal. Neither worked particularly well for me. The juices, hard boiled egg, and fruit were fine. There are very nice snacks available in the breakfast bar area. Baked goods, fruit, and cheese, coffee, tea, and even some wine. Room decor is very tasteful. Bedding is good, but we believe the sheets are microfiber. While soft, they dont breathe and are too warm as a result.
When I want to balance my senses, renew my spirit and restore my soul,this is the sanctuary I go to. i love the peaceful feeling I enjoy in the exquisite rooms, where the woods, walls and sheets are all natural. Even the water for drinking and bathing is completely chemical free. The private patio outside my room is lovely with arcing bamboo and meditation seats. Lovely!
My wife Heather and I recently stayed at the Inn at Moonlight Beach, and everything about our stay here was beyond exceptional. From the moment we walked in and saw the fresh-cut flowers, we knew this was a special place. We booked our room during the Covid-19 pandemic, but we felt extremely safe and well taken care of. Morgan (our host) and staff all wore masks, and while everyone was very friendly and attentive, there was very little direct contact due to precautions taken. Wonderful, healthy breakfasts waited at our door every morning. The Inn is very close to fine restaurants and, of course, Moonlight Beach. We had originally booked our stay for 3 nights, but we enjoyed our stay so much we ended up staying a 4th night! We will definitely be back!

I’m so grateful I met the visionary creator and she encouraged me to experience her remarkable creation.What I love about The Inn at Moonlight Beach - is its intimacy - it’s a sanctuary in time.From the moment you arrive you see the sign that says “A Conscious Destination”. The consciousness you experience is the heartfelt intent of its creator to design an environment that is completely intune with nature. Afterall, the creator is not only an architect but also a landscape architect. You are welcomed by all biodynamic edible and interactive gardens that invite you to harvest vegetables, succulent and herbs, or plant to bring home your own creations.When I entered the greeting area I was welcomed by a warm staff that invited me to tea and gave a tour of the grounds and the multiple secret meditation gardens. I love the open kitchen where the staff invited me to sample 5 flavors of local honey as well as olive oil and to infuse them with dried herbs from their garden. I chose wildflower and buckwheat honey as my bases and infused them with mint and oregano.The herb theme is continued with the names of the eight rooms. I was lucky I was given the Lavender room - my favorite scent. I cannot begin to describe the endless little touches of tranquility the room had. When I entered I understood why The Inn has the “WELL” certification. All of my five senses - taste, smell, sight, feel and sound were delighted and elevated.To further settle in, after my private one-on-one honey infusion class I walked to Moonlight Beach - two blocks away. It was so pristine and calm. I waded in the water and got lost in the rhythm and sounds of the waves. One block between the Inn and the Beach is Historic 101 - right between two funky beach towns Encinitas and Leucadia. So many fabulous restaurants, cafes and shops all within a few blocks.After grabbing a coffee at the corner cafe I headed back to the Inn for an extraordinary massage and chakra energy healing. (A first for me!) It was wild how intuitive this healer was. The massage room itself was so tranquil - and they have a magical outdoor massage area as well. After my 90 minute experience I felt so peaceful and vibrant at the same time.I then walked down to Le Papagayo, a fabulous restaurant with live music. I passed at least 10 other cool restaurants along the way. After a healthy dinner sitting at the bar with lively locals I walked back to the Inn for the most amazing bath full of their dried herbs, salts and scents. I melted!After a quiet meditation on my deck overlooking the charming town and the ocean, I happily lept into bed - which felt like a perfect cloud. I read, I wrote and lost track of time. Then I had the most fabulous sleep in ages.I woke up in the morning to an extraordinary breakfast packed in a picnic basket waiting outside my door. I practiced yoga on my big wood deck and leisurely enjoyed the morning birds and bamboo swaying in the wind. I did not want to leave. It was a truly magical stay.If you want a retreat for you alone or with a loved one - you will adore the Inn at Moonlight Beach. Or give it as a gift to someone who really needs to embody Wellness. I think we all do.
A very special, unique space and we loved every thoughtful detail. The herb and vegetable gardens, many peaceful nooks to eat or relax in, delicious breakfast, their foot soak is a must.We must have bought one of each from their homemade goods and market.Absolutely have referred to several friends and family and will continue to share about this magical place.

My wife and I honeymooned here for a whole week and it was absolutely incredible! Even with all the covid stuff going on. They were very safe and accommodating. Everything at this place was top notch. The bed was extremely comfortable, the breakfast at your door was healthy delicious and fresh and the location is unbeatable. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay, well worth every penny, hope to be back soon.

My husband and I chose the Inn at Moonlight Beach for our anniversary trip this year, and it was FABULOUS! The inn was exceptionally clean, and our room was perfect. We splurged for the ocean suite and were not disappointed - the private balcony was perfect for breakfast in the morning, and to get some sun in the afternoon. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were plush. While the staff were almost never seen due to COVID-19, they were always accessible via text message and quick to respond to our needs. The inn is accessible to everything you will want during a trip to Encinitas. Walk to the beach and the 101, take the freeway to other areas like Del Mar and Carlsbad... you cant go wrong. The team has truly created a perfect getaway and we hope to return in the future. Thank you for everything!

From the moment you pull up the secluded driveway, it’s obvious that the Inn at Moonlight Beach is a special place. The lush greenery that surrounds the property secludes you from the outside word, setting the stage for the tranquil experience that awaits. The property itself feels as much like a high-end spa as it does a zen garden, with well-appointed rooms that feature soft linens on the beds and handmade soaps in the bathrooms, not to mention the bathtub that awaits with bags of herbs harvested from the garden and epsom salts to create a relaxing soak that will leave you in pure nirvana. The morning breakfast basket was delivered at 8:00am sharp with a delicious medley of overnight oats, toast, juice, and hardboiled eggs. Paired with the local coffee in the kitchenette, it starts your day off right. The Inn at Moonlight Beach’s staff is very friendly and accommodating, but they have also left detailed instructions throughout the rooms and grounds, as to give you the opportunity to maintain your seclusion, if that’s what you’re after. our one complaint is that we were only able to stay one night, but we will be returning as soon as possible for a much longer retreat at Encinitas’ best new b&b.

The Inn At Moonlight Beach is a small bed and breakfast type location. The made to order breakfasts each morning were great. And it was a short walk to the beach, with supplies provided by the Inn. We appreciated the daily text checking in to see how our stay was going and if we needed anything. A little on the higher end price wise but nice accommodations. A short walk to the main drag in Encinitas with lots of restaurant choices and shopping. Highly recommend.
Unbelievable weekend away in Encinitas! Such a beautiful space, with extremely thoughtful design and hospitality touches.Very sustainable and eco-conscious with on property vegetable and fruit gardens. Local honey and olive oil tastings, as well as mindfulness activities provided. The ladies were very attentive and accomodating throughout our stay and we will 100% be back.An easy cycle into town, or down to the surf.

This is hands down the best place to stay in Encinitas!! My girlfriend and I stayed for my birthday and had an amazing time. The rooms are modern and extremely relaxing. The property overlooks the beautiful ocean. Waking up to gluten free oatmeal and fresh fruits to eat while watching the sun rise is an experience to remember. Great proximity to downtown Encinitas and the beautiful Moonlight beach. This place has it all the modern amenities and looks like something out of a interior design magazine. You will not want to leave.. Highly recommend

Each detail welcomed you to relax and be nurtured and it was spotless.I treated myself to a Chakra Balancing massage and of course we had a couples massage during our stay as well (I can’t totally leave the hubby out of the bliss). I was so pleased to meet a wonderful massage therapist and energy medicine practitioner, Komala.Immersed in the beauty of the environment while sipping a glass of wine watching the sunset and listening to the frogs was a perfect way for my husband & I to reignite our dreams & visualize the next 20 beautiful years of our lives together.I have immense gratitude for the wonderful hosts and staff at the Inn for creating such a sacred space for us to relax and rejuvenate. We can’t wait until we get to visit again!
Zen way to spend our weekend. It was a 3 minute walk to the Amtrak station, which took us into Old Town San Diego. 10-15 m walk to Historic Encinitas 101. Walking distance to the beach. 10 minute drive to the beautiful Meditation Garden. Our room was so beautiful! Personal touches like the plants and washed local fresh fruit. We definitely will be back. Thank you guys!
This was a special occasion & the Inn at Moonlight Beach hit the spot. It is a “Well” inn that truly made us feel peaceful, meditative & cared for. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a view, lovely. The bed was very comfortable & we really enjoyed the sheets. Also enjoyed the tea, dried fruit & breakfast.

PURE MAGIC. If you are looking for a sacred, grounding, rejuvenating, relaxing, beautifully energetic space filled with love, grace and peace….this is your spot. This hidden gem will truly amaze you and let me share why…I was intrigued to learn from our lovely hostess (who actually is the amazing architect of this sacred space) that this Inn actually meets WELL building standards which means that the space itself enhances human heath and well-being through design and operational features of the environment (such as the biodynamic gardens, water, air, atmosphere and lighting). WELL building standards look into the connection between the physical building and the wellbeing of whomever inherits the space. SO COOL and inspirational that buildings can actually leave people and the environment better off than before they spent time in the building.THE COMMON SPACE: One of my favorite parts of the space is the communal living room and kitchen hang out area. This space is soooo lovely, inviting and calming. It has an amazing indoor-outdoor feel to it with the ambiance sounds and decor that made me feel very connected to nature. There are all sorts of healing herbal teas, spices, roots and herbs, snacks, fruit and vegetables from the on-site gardens and the most amazing coffee! It is a help-yourself style kitchen and so you feel like you are home, which is such a unique experience for an Inn environment. There is also an extensive book shelf with a range of books that bring insight, awareness and inspiration to your life! The yoga deck is another feature that I truly appreciated having available.THE ROOM: #FengShuiAllDay! WOW - another amazing, oh so cozy and comforting, beautiful space. I stayed in the Sage room - Ocean view balcony … need I say any more? Upon entering the room there was hot tea and aromatherapy awaiting my arrival, which was so welcoming. Aside from the space being amazing, the bed and pillows were SO comfortable! I bring my own pillow with me everywhere and I actually forgot my pillow and I was so pleased that these pillows beat my own pillow times 10! So luxurious. I had everything I needed! In the morning a picnic basket filled with all sorts of delicious complimentary breakfast goodies was waiting on my doorstep! This was a perfect place for a romantic stay with my boyfriend :) I’d also consider coming here for a weekend meditation retreat or for a rejuvenation weekend.I had such an experience of being welcomed and at home in the grace of contribution and love from our exceptional hostess, the lovely inn keeper and from the environment itself. Inn at Moonlight deserves a 10 star rating from me!!! :)I hope anyone reading this enjoys his or her stay as much as I did! You will be left feeling peaceful, connected and powerful after your stay. Lovely gem located away from the beach crowd but close enough to walk to beach and downtown Encinitas. Wonderful attention to detail and delightful quirks like a garden you can pluck from and Eastern-inspired sculptures in the garden. We had a quick getaway from San Diego and feel totally rejuvenated!
I loved this place, totally environmentally friendly, a warm cup of tea, an air purifier. Friendly people, Very relaxing. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful B&B if you’re in or near Encinitas!The rooms are beautiful; modern yet cozy, and very calming. Shangwen is the sweetest host, and very accommodating. We were served hot tea the moment we arrived, and Shangwen was very knowledgeable about the restaurants in the area (she even checked on a restaurant’s availability for us while we were settling in, how nice is that!).The location is excellent, with a bunch of restaurants within walking distance or a short ride away. In the morning, even though they were under renovation and we knew not to expect a breakfast, there were two bottles of local, fresh pressed juice on our doorstep, as well as organic coffee and oatmeal to make in the room.We really enjoyed our relaxing stay here, and will definitely be back the next time we are in California!

I could not have asked for a more relaxing and inviting experience. I was so stressed out with work and a super active toddler. As soon as I walked into the hallway leading to my room, it was as if my entire body said, Ahhhhh....now you can relax. Thank you thank you Thank You!! I needed a break so bad and your hotel was absolutely wonderful, peaceful and everything I needed to get away. The room was super clean. The aromatherapy in the room was spot on and smelled amazing. First, this wonderfully designed property is built to Well Standards, which basically means theyve gone through great lengths to decrease the usual toxins in the environment. The result is an amazing nights rest! Everywhere you look, there is attention to detail that will make you smile. The owners are very nice and welcoming. A very short walk to the beach or the restaurants in Encinitas. Oh, and 5000 thread count sheets!
Friendly place but misleading on what you get. Beach is not two blocks away. It is a good 5 blocks away at least. I was looking forward to homemade pastries right out of the oven. We received coffee cake that wasnt right out of the oven. No muffins or pastries. Also no yogurt but 4 kinds of cheese which I was not expecting for a breakfast. The bed was nice and a clean place.
I have spent the last six months traveling for work. Just as an example, in 2 months I traveled over 40K miles cross country. I was in desperate need to take a break and restore my mind, body and soul. The Inn at Moonlight Beach was the perfect place to do this. The Inn at Moonlight Beach takes into consideration your entire experience down to the littlest detail, from the bath salts, the sheets, the fresh aromatherapy in your room, to the tea in the morning, and sitting out in the meditation garden. I spent four nights and left completely refreshed ready to face the world that was waiting for me.
What a lovely little place. Stayed here one night while in town on business.....rooms were relaxing. Aromas, ocean sounds and delicious tea welcomed me to the room. The bfast served in a basket the following morn was a wonderful touch. Will definitely stay here again when in town.

My husband and I chose to stay at this “luxury” hotel for a relaxing experience and unfortunately, this was not our experience. We booked a deluxe garden suite and learned quickly that this lower level unit offered minimal insulation between floors resulting in a loud, non-relaxing stay. Unfortunately, we were woken up during the late night and early morning hours to guest stomping above us - 6:30am, 11:30pm-12:30am & 7am - which did not compliment the already busy street and passing by train outside our window. Due to the website description and price point, we expected higher standards and were extremely disappointed. We did not have a relaxing retreat experience and did not leave feeling renewed but instead tired & frustrated. Very disappointed, would not recommend!

A space that is designed for and actually cares for your well being. Located close to the beaches, this beautiful inn has beautiful outdoor spaces that help you feel calm and relaxed, 8 small gardens, organic tea and breads in the lobby, and a friendly and courteous staff. Just look at the photos!
I felt so taken care of at this Inn, I really didnt want to leave. Well thought out details such as the beautiful healthy breakfast baskets, common room full of healthy treats and great books, the use of non-toxic cleaning products, filtered water everywhere, aromatherapy, organic biodynamic garden available to guests, rooms with very clean, updated and tasteful furniture and appliances - I was extremely impressed. This is the future of hospitality. I will be coming back!
Great property. We stayed in the penthouse room and enjoyed evenings on the deck with nice ocean views. The walk to the beach or downtown is less than 15 minutes.The owners are very engaging and eager to make you visit enjoyable.

This was our 3rd visit to Inn at Moonlight Beach and it is a treat every single time. The staff is always attentive and accommodating with any requests we have. We love the breakfast baskets delivered every morning, they are such a healthy and delicious way to start the day. Weve stayed in a different room each time and each one has a wonderful airy and beachy vibe. The location is perfect for us since the beach and SCH 101 is just a few minutes away. Weve stayed in the past in April, September, and just returned from a recent trip in December. The Inn at Moonlight is amazing all year round if youre looking to visit Encinitas. We always enjoy our visits and will look forward to our future stays at the Inn!
What a nice surprise! We came to Encinitas to go to the Lightscape at the SD botanical gardens, and decided to make it a mini vacation. The ambience of the entire place was magical. From the moment we walked onto the driveway there was a cute sitting area with a fire pit, lots of trees, plants, and flowers. We stayed in the garden suite, loved the fact that everything was very organic and environmentally friendly, the water from our faucets was filtered to reduce plastic bottle usage. We had a garden on our private patio where we enjoyed wine, cheese and the sunset. It was perfect. The staff was all very friendly, warm and accommodating. They really put a lot of thought into the small details of all spaces. Thank you for everything we will definitely be back!

The environment and ambiance feels like you have finally take the breath you didn’t even know you needed to take. The rooms are beautiful, the scenery and gardens are magical and workshops bring the Etsy- loving part of me so fulfilled. 10/10 recommend and will be back!

2023-11-26 19:41:02We really enjoyed our stay. The space is beautiful and tranquil, the location ideal, and the rooms very comfortable. The staff are friendly. And the items they make and have for sale are wonderful. We enjoyed the honey tasting. A few minor suggestions/things to take note of:-Our neighboring room played music both nights we were there until 2+am, and it limited our sleep. This was clearly not the fault of the hotel, but I would suggest making clear quiet hours and reviewing with guests on arrival.-there is a service fee (not tip) associated with packages, so it might be a better option to purchase desired items a-la-carte rather and separate from services like massages.-breakfast is filling and nutritious. Delicious juices and yogurts/honey. However our eggs on the first day were frozen, so we ultimately decided to eat out the next day.All in all these things were minor and the experience so relaxing and unique that we would happily come again!

Every little thing you could need has been thought of and was presented so beautifully (fresh-picked herbs for the bath; lit candles and wellness tea waiting for you in your room). At the same time, all these details are also sustainable and environmentally friendly. The staff was so kind and respectful. Breakfast was amazing and healthy; love the picnic basket delivery system. 2023-09-27 18:22:30The Inn at Moonlight Beach is one of my favorite hotels to stay. From the moment you arrive and enter the lobby there is a feeling of tranquility and relaxation. They greet you will a cup of tea and healthy snacks. We stayed in the Full Moon Oceanview Suite and I was blown away with all the little touches in the room. There was a pot of healing tea brewing, sounds of waves playing and the most wonderful smelling essential oil filling the room. The full kitchen and large patio were all a bonus. The hotel grounds had little gardens and calming places to sit and meditate or have great conversations. And they leave you a healthy breakfast in a cute little basket every morning at your front door! It is the perfect place to come if you need a reset of your body and mind. My husband and I will be coming back very soon!

The room was very clean and smelled amazing upon arrival, the check in process was super fast and easy. The room itself was very cozy and got super dark at night. There is some noise from the train nearby but we were able to sleep through it (the hotel provides a white noise machine). The bed was extremely comfortable and the provided breakfast was delicious! Location is close to the beach and great restaurants and shopping. Definitely recommend!

2023-09-21 17:51:19Our Honeymoon at the Inn at Moonlight Beach was very relaxing and pure bliss. We couldnt recommend staying here more. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable and they thought of every detail down to room spray and a sound machine. The property is truly an oasis and the stuff were all so kind. The location is perfect! 2 blocks walking to the beach and close walking to great coffee. Also a very easy walk to downtown Encinitas. We hope to be back!

Exquisite attention to detail with quality and meaningful amenities for healthy, conscious travelers from herbal bath tea sachets and handmade soap to bedside body butter. Loved being welcomed with a fresh pot of tea and hand-dipped chocolate covered orange slices and dried apricots and miniature cucumbers and the breakfast arriving in a basket at our door was simply decadent and delicious with the freshest, whole food, organic ingredients. So comfortable with indoor and outdoor spaces for sacred practices to meditate and work remotely and be present with nature. Looking forward to our next visit! HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!
