Only negative is that the music is generally quite loud but they were happy to accommodate our request to turn it down a bit. Service was superior and food was delicious. A shame we were too full to enjoy any of the dessert offerings. Staff were very personable and attentive. Look forward to returning soon and often. All-you-can-eat sushi offer is great value, especially considering the variety of menu offered. Prices also reasonable.

Music is on point not too loud can have a conversation. Food is legit and reasonable priced with good portions. Drinks you have to try them. I like my rolls with crab instead of rice and they did it up:)

The atmosphere and interior design and decor is really up to par. The dark colors of the tables and seats and walls reflect well off of the ambient lighting throughout the establishment. Service was exceptional. Sushi, kids teriyaki bowl, and shrimp tempera, delicious. We werent that fond of the calamari though. Very nice presentation. Im not sure how the parking is on certain nights or weekends, but on a Tuesday night, parking is abundant.

We got there at the dream hour for dinner, walked in and seated immediately. Our sushi came out crazy fast, quicker than our appetizer from the kitchen. All the hot food was hot though, and the sushi tasted really great. The only complaint on the sushi would be some of the slices on the specialty rolls were too big. Prices were about the average I expected and I felt it was worth it. Service was average to slightly better, but overall friendly and helpful.

Update....I had previously recommended this place but can no longer do so. We showed up late one afternoon, around 330p for an early dinner. It was busy, but not packed. We got seated in a corner (the floor and walls were filthy) and we waited for 10 minutes and then rudely were asked ok, what would you like. We placed an order and waited and waited and waited finally after 20 minutes the first rolls showed up. No drinks, napkins or chopsticks yet mind you. The food just wasnt good. $13 rolls feel apart, a strange sour vinaigrette sauce was over several rolls, and my octopus roll had more cucumber than octopus. All for $80! Very unhappy and it will be a LONG while, if ever before were back.

My wife and I enjoy coming here for the Ramen and the good selection of sushi rolls. The prices are nice and low in the hospitality of the staff is great. We like the proximity of I-Sushi to some of the local shopping areas in the Eastlake and Otay Ranch area. Definitely recommend this Japanese cuisine and grill restaurant to anyone in the local area.

Nothing spectacular here. Service was OK, but had to wait forever for a check. Food was decent, but with so many sushi places to choose from, they should really be better than that. I had the sashimi platter. In the morning I had stomach problems. Dont know if it was related, but I ate nothing else that day.

Horrible experience ordering sushi from this restaurant via grubhub. The salmon was discolored and the sushi was not presentable. For 33 bucks (adding in tip, service fees, CA driver fees, taxes) it was a massive disappointment. I wont ever eat here again

Try the Mexican roll, crunch roll and deep Cali roll. They are all delicious!!!!I dont like sea food and I love this place they have the best rolls, great portions and price with a great atmosphere. I know almost all sushi restaurants serve limited amounts of beer but if I could change one thing itd be more beer!! Lol. Or cocktails. Nevertheless my favorite sushi in the Chula Vista area!!!!

By far the best sushi place in San Diego, service and food are worthy of a high end restaurant but they keep the prices low. My wife loves their miso soup and refuses to order it from any other place. We came on a sunday at 6pm and even though they were full, they were able to accommodate for my party of 4 within 10 minutes. Great service, great food, great prices.

I have been coming to I sushi for like 5 years now they just remodeled it looks amazing inside. I usually come for dinner. But there lunch specials is one of the best I usually get a bento box and 2 sides which is 2 rolls of spicy tuna and its cheap compared to dinner. They have an amazing sushi selection and sashimi all types. Hope this helps out on deciding your next dinner or lunch.

First of all I was hesitant to go here because of reviews stating poor service.i should have listened. I’m not sure if it was me or everyone. But for some reason this place is very disorganized. Not sure it if it’s because of lack of staffing or managerial. Probably both. My sushi was okay, I ordered a teriyaki plate. For $13 I I could have made more myself for that price. After I finished I sat there and was never waited upon.Not asked how the food was, if I needed more water, would I like to order a anything else? I sat there for 20 minutes. When the waiter who is also the greeter (not sure how you have a greeter and a server) came by he was laughing stating “ haha sorry sir I forgot about you, did you want to order something else?” Um did he just laugh at the fact he completely forgot I was sitting at the bar? He did.Not only this the server constantly kept reaching over and around me during my meal. So I had plates of food being stacked in front of me and then the server lifting them over my head! Server told me to lead the way! How was I suppose to know my seating choice was where the chef sets every order?!Last time. You could get a much better experience elsewhere for the same amount of money. I came here out of convenience but I will happily travel for better service and sushi. I suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Food is OK but the portions are very small and quite expensive. But what really sets this place apart is that they offer the ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE. Young girls working there could not be bothered paying attention or actually getting your order right... If you really want to feel ignored, have your order messed up and just feel like someone is doing you a favor by being your waitress, then this place is for you!!!!

Had mackerel sushi and fatty salmon. It was good. Preparation of sushi was not on par or consistent as Japanese restaurant should. Rice broke apart while dipping in the sauce. Threw me off but overall good.Got the hot night sushi roll. Didnt expect to have a sweet sauce underneath. Overdid on the tempura flakes satisfied with the presentation overall.The appetizer, Heart attack, Something new and different. It feels like a heart attack. Nice crunch into the jalapeño, prepared nice, presentation was a plus. I was expectation it to be more savory but Im over thinking it. Maybe add a touch of salt?Got green tea, expected it to be a but more hotter as any cup of tea.Service was great. I think I got in around a dead time. Ill come again to try other plates they have. Overall did a good job.

The food is delicious and our service was decent. Our waitress got part of our order wrong, but it was it was remedied. The sushi is fresh and delicious; however, the baked muscles could stand for an improvement. Instead of whole muscles, they minced the meat, which took away from the expected and anticipated texture of the meal.

I used to looooove this place and came here all the time. I even know the sushi chefs because of how often I came. I knew it was pricey but for the quality I was willing to pay everytime.However, I recently came with a friend to celebrate my birthday and the food was bad. The salmon used to be my favorite thing as it always tasted fresh and now it tastes dirty. The crab was different too. I dont know if they switched fish suppliers to save money or if it was a bad day, but now Im disappointed and dont want to spend money here again to find out.

This was my 1st time ordering from here. I ordered the spicy scallop hand roll and dragon roll. The spicy scallop hand roll was very underwhelming and will never order that again. The dragon roll was OK, Ive definitely had better. There is someting missing from this sushi. It tastes like supermarket sushi. I wont coming back.On the positive side, the gal in the front who I picked up the order from seemed nice (on 10/22, 4:10pm) and is the reason I made it 2 stars instead of one. The prices here are generally less expensive compared to some local competitors, but like in many cases, you get what you pay for.I dont recommend this place.

I’ve been going there for years so it has a sentimental value to me but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD they never add the right condiments on takeout orders.Like broooo soy sauce should be obviously always included in the order. Today I asked for extra spicy mayo even if I had to pay for it and got home and opened it and I didn’t have spicy mayo or soy sauce.Other than that the food is good.

This is beyond my favorite sushi place in the lower San Diego. Its not the cheapest but its priced well.There staff changes quite a bit but their sushi chefs pretty much stay the same for long periods of time.Their sushi chefs are always friendly and nice to chat with. So if you sit at the bar it nice.Theyre waiting service is hit or miss on how much attention youll receive but overall theyre all friendly and never rude.Definitely a good, chill sushi spit in east Chula

If I could give this place a zero star I would. We tried to eat here Saturday night. We sat down in the first booth and then they told us they will not serve us because we didnt have a mask on. I ordered some of there fried sushi and when I received them they didn’t look right so I ate one and it wasn’t fully fried so I grabbed the waiters attention and she said oh yes our frier is not working let me see what I can do. So then another individual comes up and tells me that’s they can’t do anything about it but it was gonna be off my tab. I’d give this place one star if the sushi was absolutely terrible but its not. The negligence of the servers and the prices/lack of honoring discounts is what earned this place 2 stars. When I got there I was told my order would take about 15-20 minutes, half an hour later my order still wasn’t ready. They also refused to honor their 30% off happy hour during the shutdown when it was take out only with the sign reading happy hour *dine in only WHEN DINING IN WASNT EVEN AN OPTION! I dont appreciate being ripped off I really dont. Why dont you at least offer a 20% off happy hour for take out customers? Are you really that cheap?? Also disclaimer: their “lobster” rolls are CRAWFISH so if you’re gonna use that crustacean at least rename the roll or use actual lobster. False advertisement and dishonesty are some pretty ugly traits for a restaurant expecting return customers. Just a few thoughts

I had to go look for him at one point and he said hell be right with me. Took him a long time time and when he came, he didnt even take our orders and left and told us again that he will be right back!!! And dude I cannot make this up.... consistently I kept making eye contact with the dude NUMEROUS times and he just kept ignoring me throughout the night. Ridiculous. Im never coming back here again. Dont even know where to start with this but the quality of this place has gone down severely both with its employees and food. I came in today and it took 10 minutes to get us seated when there wasnt anyone in the restaurant. Our waitress was some girl dressed in casual clothes asking us what we wanted, didnt even bother to write down our order either. Took our menus as soon as we ordered drinks and then proceeded to slam down our food on the table when it got there and rolled her eyes when we asked for extra condiments (which by the way she didnt bring). The food has gone down in portion, I dont understand why a small plate of six rolls with barely any pieces of lobster on top costs 15$, it used to be huge and would fill you up. We asked for fried rice and another waiter which was a male kept giving us attitude as well and was obviously annoyed, when our fried rice came we were about to leave because it was taking forever and the girl waitress was like do you want it or not, Im guessing that this place will literally hire anyone because these people are obviously not trained. It used to be my favorite sushi spot, probably not going to come back.

Service was subpar on my solo visit. I got less attention than other tables which means the quality of my experience was unsatisfactory by my waiter who I think at times forgot about me. The sushi was good and I tipped the sushi chef a $20. The waiter could have gotten the same but got a $5 instead. I was never given any table napkins or silverware or even checked on to see if I needed any more wasabi or soy sauce. I had to ask other servers or the sushi chefs where my waiter was? Twice!

Im not quite sure if walking in with high expectations helped or not. I will be very up front and say that the food was good, but it was the service that docked the two stars. Take what you will from this.Couple points on the food: 1) I had the chicken yakisoba. It was the first thing to come out--which was a little weird but hey, whatever. It was piping hot (definite plus), and had plenty of flavor. 2) My gf ordered the Monkey Balls. Definitely an interesting concept. Stuffed mushrooms with albacore and crab, deep fried. The end product wasnt a huge hit, but earned points with us for uniqueness and effort.As for the flop? Well lets say the girl took our order, grabbed our drinks and we never heard from her again. Another gentleman dropped off our food. Everything else was nonexistent. No follow up, no plate clearing, no refill offers, nada. We had to walk up to the cashier to close out. (Presumably this could be the practice there, but we noted numerous other tables had their checks brought to them. idk?) Gratuity was a merciful 10%. As a point of reference I usually start with 20 and dock accordingly.Would we come back again? Its hard to say. The food was good, and I wouldnt hold the server as a representation of the establishment in general, but things like this definitely cant be overlooked.

August 27, my husband and I were looking for Japanese Restaurant that we have never been and closed proximity to where we lived --- to have a nice dinner after a long day of work, Alas! We found the I Sushi across from Southwestern College in Chula Vista. We got seated right away next to the entrance door, and as soon as we got seated, a server (I could be wrong, but you can recognize people that can ruin your day) asked us for our drinks, and we went ahead and ordered our main course as well. After about 10 minutes or more, my husband food was served but still no drinks. As he was waiting for our server to come back, she never did and not once said anything the status of our drinks and food and why it was taking it so long. We patiently waited for our drinks for approximately 8 minutes.I told my husband to ask another server to get our drinks. Oh yeah, at that time I was still waiting for my appetizer. As I was looking around I noticed the sushi chef had finished making my Sushi but still sitting top at the sushi counter --- I thought to myself I can get up and grab it, but I patiently waited for a server to deliver our meal, but she never grab my order, so I asked the other waiter to help us out. The first waiter who supposed to be our server never came back to our table and never told us what was going on and why she stop serving us. She completely ignored us. So, when I got my main course, my husband had finished his sushi rolls and still no drinks. So, I have to ask again about his order and yes, my appetizer (shrimp tempura), you can tell the moment it got to our table that these orders were sitting at the kitchen waiting for the waiter to be picked up and to be served to us. My appetizer that supposed to be there first was not crispy, and it was cold and saggy.I told the waiter to send it back in the kitchen. We finished our meal, but I will not let her (server) to ruin my night. I got my check and still leave 20% tips to the other waiter who helped us out. Also, thanks to him, he decided to comp my tempura. I hope the management will do something about her (waiter with the long hair) that is not willingly cooperating and lack of respect for others. I will stop come back to the restaurant because I do believe on second chances.

Here is the issue. The food is excellent! The service is horrible. Understaffed and overworked employees with little experience nor do they care. One of the chairs legs was broken and almost fell. I have passed by this place multiple times and have never stopped by to eat.I was in shock of how good the food was. This place is always busy and now I know why. Im so glad my boyfriend and I stopped by here to eat.They do take a while to seat you so for sure go there before you are starving so the wait isnt too bad.One little suggestion is to make sure you walk inside to the front desk to write your name on the wait list. We didnt know thats what we had to do, because they have a big sign that says wait to be seated before you even get inside.

The music was BLARING. They would fix it then just turn it back up. We couldnt even hear each other without shouting- She didnt know the menu anyway. I am 100% visibly pregnant and ordered 2 different things, both of which are listed on the menu as cooked. Not only was it delivered warm, but not actually cooked: it was raw and covered in fish eggs. I pointed out to the waitress that the menu doesnt list that the rolls would be tossed in fish eggs and she says, Oh yeah, there are things they just dont write on there. We talked to the guy who was obviously in charge and he said there is nothing they can do about the food. Really? Wont be back.

The food was great but...unfortunately when I ordered the heart attack (stuffed jalapeno) it tasted a little off. I scooped everything off one of the jalapenos and it was a bell pepper. I still ate it because I like bell pepper. This was disappointing and not what I paid for/ordered.

Came in on a Saturday evening, just in time to beat the late night dinner crowd (6:15). By the time we left at 7:30, the place was full. Dinner consisted of Miso soup, The Heart Attack (tempura fried tuna, crab, and cream cheese stuffed jalapeños), spicy scallop hand roll and Rainbow Roll. All the food was delicious, served quickly, respectfully and fresh. The service was outstanding, thank you Daniel and Chin (?). Fabulous place in Chula Vista. One of the best sushi places in Chula Vista period. They have fresh selection of both Sushi and Sashimi, along with other sushi rolls and appetizers. I recommend the Crispy Lobster and Awesome roll. I love how isushi has kept its business here in Chula Vista for many years now - have been going here ever since the beginning and will continue to go back for my sushi cravings. Not to mention that they have great kitchen/grill food as well - for non seafood people. 🍻 cheers!

Good sushi, and other options. I typically get the yakiudon because its really damn good. Service can be a bit slow, which can be either a blessing or annoying depending on your level of patience. But I come here often cuz the food is good. My nieces love the sushi here. And if your a cama fan, youd be happy to know they have salmon and yellowtail, which many places dont serve yellowtail. Anyway happy eating.

They closed their shop 20 minutes early before their close time. If you close at 1130 then change your hours. It’s not busy and it only takes 5min to make a couple roles. Change your hours or serve customers until your close time.
