Went in for a late lunch on a Friday, it wasnt pack. I wanted to take my fiance here to try it, and it didnt disappoint. He really like his chicken plate, and I thought the salmon was very good. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food didnt take to long. They have vegetarian options. The food was very good. The restaurant itself is between some closed down businesses, so it is easy to overlook it, but food is so much better than the Olive Garden down the street.

This place is absolutely fantastic!!! We made reservations every time we visited because it does get busy and the place is small.This place has to be one of the best pasta Ive ever had. I have celiac so I ordered gluten free pasta and since that was phenomenal I cheated and got the chicken with broccoli (WOW!!!) I LICKED THE PLATE!!! sorry.... The sauce, chicken and noodles were amazing!!! I told the hostess to send compliments to the chef (owner)

Food was amazing! A little piece of heaven here in the South Bay! No need to drive to Down Town or Little Italy for great Italian food! With a great selection of beer and wine to accompany these amazing dishes! Give them a try, you will Not be disappointed!

This place is fantastic! I am from out of town and I was looking for well reviewed places on Google. I liked the verbiage people were using to describe their dining experience here.Heres what we loved:☆Reasonably priced menu.☆Obvious quality ingredients.☆Expertise in cooking technique.☆Every dish we ordered was cohesive and delicious. Highlights: Salmon was moist kissed with fire. The Board appetizer had quality cheeses, crostini & olives. The clam chowder was as close to perfect as I think we can get away from the New England area. All pastas were al dente. The fresh made bread had just the right texture and chew.☆Arnold Pamler and Strawberry lemonade were both refreshing.My only complaint was that the salt grains were too large for the shakers holes so I had to open it.Thank you for a wonderful food experience!

The food and service was great! We ordered linguine with pesto, and fettuccine with the parmesan cream sauce. So delicious! The strawberry lemonade is especially good too. Really enjoyed the bread. Will definitely be back! I also really liked our waitress, I cant remember her name, possibly Dany? Very kid friendly too if you have little ones.

This restaurant is exceptional. It is nice to eat a restaurant that attends to the details. For instance: the water tastes great. Thats no small feat in San Diego county.The restaurant was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. The atmosphere its nice, and the service was excellent.

My family has been coming here for years but Ive just recently started joining them and I understand why they come so often! This is hands down some of the absolute best Italian food in San Diego and the prices are far lower than I think they should be for the quality of food.The menu is very simple and every dish Ive tried so far kinda blew me away. Bolognese, absolute fire! Cream sauce, immaculate! The pesto, yep once again FIRE! Lets not forget the Tagliata steak so simply seasoned and absolutely delicious! Ive never had a cold dish, never needed to ask for something twice, even their water taste good not the traditional San Diego Tap serverd over ice!This family really takes pride in their establishment, service and quality of food! How this place is not packed to the brim every night is beyond me but I dont think were far away from that reality. Thank you Italgo for serving our beautiful city such amazing dishes!

I was WOWED when I entered this little hidden gem.. from the outside, you wouldnt even consider the place, but once inside, the atmosphere was incredible!.. lots of people and even at full capacity we were greated and served fast!. the food is tasty, not hardy, but you are served just enough. prices are decent. my advice to the owner.. side businesses closed a while ago.z therefore, the curve looks abandoned and full of trash. I would take the initiative of cleaning a little for the sake of making your customers feel safe and with the knowledge you are eating at a sanitary eatery.

So freaking cute! Quaint, and absolutely delicious! Made us feel like we escaped Chula Vista and entered into an Italian country side home. Not only was the pasta delicious but the dessert they sent us home with...that sweet woman asked me if I wanted my 3 creme brulees altogether or separate. I didnt understand, so I said together... She sends me home with the biggest most delicious creme brulee Ive had in awhile!!! I wish I took a picture but my excitement got the better of me and we finished it enjoying every bite!! My husband and I agreed its definitely worth finding parking for! Please continue to serve the creme brulee this way!!! Worth every penny!!! Knowing its an option is wonderful for sharing with family members!!!!

Dined in yesterday (wed, 11/15) for dinner. Our server was wonderful and attentive but not too much. I did not get her name unfortunately. She made great conversation and recommended what I chose for dinner, the Pollo with creme linguine. It was delicious, the chicken was roasted and seasoned well with herbs and mustard marinade. My sister had the salmon with pesto rigatoni also delicious. The salmon was buttery and soft and cooked to perfection. My partner had the pesto rigatoni with shrimp and it was also tasty and delicious. The pasta was served with 6-8 medium sized meaty prawns. All together we paid about $85 for 2 dinner plates, 1 dinner pasta with added shrimp (upcharge), 1 soda, 1 glass of wine. The wine was a generous pouring of a full bodied red that my sister enjoyed sip by sip. We had 2 baskets of bread with olive oil and vinegar at $6 a pop. That was unexpected. The bread was fresh baked rosemary foccacia maybe? It was about 6 round lightly crispy exterior with a soft lightly chewy interior. We all really enjoyed our meals and brought home left overs, including 1/2 a basket of bread. I will continue to patronage this local business. Ive had one or two off experiences but their food keeps me coming back, and their staff has improved or maybe its different? Not sure but there is a notable difference for the better. They expanded earlier this year and essentially doubled their space. Our waitress said they hold larger parties in that area. I think it would be a nice place for a celebration of any size.

My wife and I stopped at the Italgo Pasta Bar (IPB) for the first time (Dec 2021). We had driven by it so many times and its easy to miss because the store front is so small. I was surprised to learn that theyd been in business for the last for years and yet I had only noticed it about 2 months ago.Anyway, after a day of Christmas shopping and not having eaten anything all day, I asked my wife if she wanted to try out IPB. She hesitated as it was 3:00 PM, she was tired, hungry and it was raining. She gave in and we drove to IPB. We parked our truck in front of the restaurant and tried to look inside but all we could see was a well lit Christmas tree through the front door.When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant was nice and clean. The lighting was a little dim (that is a good thing) and the ambiance was just right. My wife, who is a clean freak, loved the place already. I cautioned her that we shouldnt get too excited just yet as we hadnt tried the food yet. We were seated promptly and we ordered soft drinks, a Caprese and an order of their home style bread (see pic).The Caprese was delicious, especially the cheese. I was just like we had when we lived in Europe. When the bread arrived, it was hot and flavorful. It was great just eating it out of the basket. However, we were given a saucer with olive oil and vinegar to dip our bread into. It enhanced the flavor of the bread and it was really good. In fact, I would recommend you order two orders of the bread. One as an appetizer and a second order to sponge up the sauce from your pasta plate.My wife orders the Spaghettini and I ordered the Linguini (see pics). Both plates were very good. My wifes Spaghettini was just a little better than my Linguini and the reason is that the garlic in the Linguini had a slight taste of garlic from a jar. I couldnt swear to it but I did get that garlic from a jar aftertaste. I will be visiting IPB again in a few days and I will ask if they use fresh garlic or garlic from a jar. If it is garlic from a jar, I may have to reduce my 5 star review to a 4 star later. My wife couldnt stop talking about how good her pasta was and as I said, mine was great too, except for that aftertaste.For dessert we decided to order two cappuccinos and their Orange Flan. Both my wife and I grew up on Mexican Flan (me) and Filipino Flan (her) and we both agreed that this Orange Flan was, by far, one of the best flans we both had ever had. It had bits of orange in the flan as well as orange flavoring which made the flan stand out. We would have each ordered one for ourselves had we not been full from the meal already.The service was great too. They kept our glassed filled and constantly came to check to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely recommend IPB, especially for a first date, an anniversary, or any special occasion or even just to eat some pasta on any given day. They also have daily specials that are not listed on their menus but rather on the board behind the cash register.

All I can say is WOW! When you walk up to the restaurant it doesnt seem like much. On the inside is a cute mom and pop shop. So when the food came and hit us with so much flavor it was a great surprise. You can tell that every plate is cared for as though you were someone special coming for dinner. Please stop in and have something to eat. You will be doing yourself and the establishment a favor. Please support small businesses.

Adorable restaurant where the owner is the chef (when does he get time off?) We started with bruchetta and wine. My wife requested something not on the menu, chicken breast over pasta with a spicy marinara sauce. I ordered the rigatoni bolonegese. Both were excellent. We are so happy we found this modest restaurant. Once you enter you are taken to Italy 🇮🇹 and treated very well. We will be back often. It can be a struggle for many restaurants to remain open with the ups and downs of covid. We will support Italy Pasta Bar by returning, often we hope!

If pasta is what youre looking at get it and thank me later. Hubs got the salmon and Caesar salad. You can tell that everything is made from scratch and the service is awesome. This small hidden place is a real gem. We were looking for pasta and this place had it all. The pasta and sauces were full of flavor, and the chicken salad was delicious. The chicken was melt in your mouth and the fresh bread and oil and balsamic vinegar was soft and moreish. All this was at a really great price too. We will definitely be returning.

Where to go for good Italian on a late Friday night other than Little Italy??? Well if you, like me live in the South Bay part of San Diego driving to Little Italy, Hilcrest or Downtown SD is at least 20 minutes and sometimes I just dont feel like it. No need to do that anymore. In my Yelp search for a nearby Italian restaurant I came across Italgo Pasta Bar on Broadway St. Im not sure if they have a parking since we were able to park right in front but the parking next door at the seafood restaurant is only for them not Italgo so watch out for that. It could be called a hole in the wall since it doesnt catch your eye when you drive by unless you are looking for it but worth the search. Im a picky eater and am type A personality, with that being said Italgo nailed it, at least in my book. From the moment they greeted us with a warm welcome and you may seat where youd like to the thank you, hope to see you back soon was great. The waitress was very polite and helpful, she knew her menu and when I asked for something that wasnt on the menu she politely said let me ask the chef left, asked and came back to let me know of course we can do itThis was a 5 star review right there and then since many or most restaurants dont really like altering their dishes and rather say sorry, we dont do that than keep their customers 1000% happy. Now the food, the wait was normal not super fast but not slow by any means and once we got our dishes we tasted why the descent wait. The flavor was outstanding and fresh. I have a very selective palate and when I took the first bite I was happy. The food presentation and the taste topped it all. It is a cozy place for a late night dinner since they close until midnight from Thursday to Saturday. We also ordered a creme brulee for dessert that was right on point. Definitely a restaurant we will visit again.

Don’t judge a book by it cover nor a restaurant by its facade. And, I will not judge the whole experience based on one entree. Fettuccine with Salmon in cream sauce. Pasta cooked just right, Salmon tasty and light. But I expected strong taste in the sauce. Not to say I didn’t enjoy my meal. Also, Nicely appointed interior. The highback couches (6 feet) are a trip. Nice wine selection. Definitely worth more visits.

My family of 6 came to eat this evening. I thought there wasn’t going to be any room for us, but right away they put a table together. The food was simply delicious. The ravioli with mushrooms was amazing! My husband ordered salmon which had so much flavor. 2 of my boys ordered spaghetti, and the meat balls were full of flavor as well. I used to come here when I lived in Chula Vista. It was awesome. I took some friends there since I was visiting town. It took so long to get our food. They forgot our order and I had to remind the staff of what we ordered. The food was good except for my linguine. I love their food but this time it was just not good. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. They said because I ate more than one bite they could only take half off. I asked to speak to the manager and the chef came up. He stated “ so you eat until you’re full and then ask for it to be taken off”. I was caught so off guard. There was more than half of the plate left. He stormed off and we had to wait and ask for the check again. Long story short. Service was terrible and the cook was very rude. No apology or anything, terrible customer service.

We heard about Italgos from a friend. Parking is very limited. (Hope you can parallel park!) Their menu is simple and surprisingly inexpensive. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer. Their rosemary bread is amazing! I ordered the pork with prosciutto and cheese on top and noodles with cream sauce. Delicious! It is definitely worth the wait! We will return to try other items on the menu.

First time patrons relying on positive reviews: This was a very disappointing dinner for many reasons, not the least of which was the food itself. Im experienced in this industry, and coincidentally, well-versed in Italian fare. One expects pre-prepped dishes, as a busy kitchen cannot make all dishes from scratch, but theres no excuse for cold, grossly undercooked eggplant parm. No Mediterranean country serves it closer to raw. The chicken parm, while flavorful, was apparently pre-fried, stored, and recreated for serving; thus, it had a cold edge to it. No comment on their marinara sauce, or whatever it was. Why didnt we send the dishes back? Because we waited 40 minutes for their delivery without a server even checking on us once. Our arrival at 7:05 was right after a large party was served and right before another had arrived. So, we hurriedly ordered to beat the rush, and we did. - The eggplant was so raw and inedible, that, now tired and hungry, we decided to simply take it home and remake it, which yielded negative results after all after fifteen minutes of cooking. Even the soup was cold! - It was perplexing to see apparently busy servers getting so little done. Their system doesnt assign a server particular tables, making no accountability in a disorganized collective effort. - The cook should be castigated for allowing such unacceptable dishes to leave his kitchen. Finally, these were parmigiana, that is, covered in presumedly hot, melted cheese. Instead, the concoctions appeared as coarsely grated parm over tepid substances only superficially, slightly melted, and in sparse supply. OK, its not Northern New Jersey or Brooklyn, yet there is no excuse for such obviously, defectively prepared dishes, alongside incredibly inept service. By the way, as no personalized server was assigned, they forgot our to-go pasta side. - Truly, I hate writing a bad review for some family-owned small business. No one bothered to address our concerns once they were voiced. Who could be in charge there? On a Friday night, where in heaven was the owner?

Looking for really good Italian food and I think we found it. Small, clean, and really delicious. Tried the marinated steak and salad. Steak was cooked perfect medium rare and salad was well dressed. Unexpectedly pleased with the carefully selected wine and food menus and specials board.Myself and a guest arrived at dusk to find a fourth of the tables occupied and left after superb leisurely meal at 9pm to a full house. In true Italian style never did we feel rushed to give up our table and had to ask for the check.We will return but plan an earlier start or choose midweek evening. A small full house is a noisy one and my elderly guest had difficulty hearing.Note: The hallway to the unisex one person very clean restroom is dimly lit.

Wonderful place! I realized a lot of people I know in chula dont know about it here that Ive talked to. The inside is cute and cozy, the sangria is delicious and the service is really sweet. Everyone is super nice and even when theyre super busy they crush it. The pasta was a little bit salty and I love salt. BUT the overall experience was awesome and Ill be back for sure!

I have come here before and it was amazing. I came back with my husband for date night but we waited for more than 30 minutes before any staff came and said that there was a long wait. I understand having to wait for food, especially when there are tables ahead of you. The servers should have communicated with us and at least brought our our bruschetta. We ended up leaving as they set it out and still paid full price. I’mVery disappointed with them. I cannot express how sad this makes me.

Love Italgo. We actually went to The Olive Garden and the wait was an hour and a half. We decided to go around the corner to Italgo. So happy we did. I had the chicken and vegetables and my husband had the pork loin and pesto pasta. Reasonable prices and quality dishes with lots of flavor. The food is consistently delicious. Perfect cozy, intimate restaurant. Full disclaimer, I know nothing about authentic Italian cuisine but I know when something is delicious. The homemade bread is the prefect blend of crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We got the Bruschetta and we devoured it. The Strawberry Lemonade is not too sweet and definitely not watered down. I love the crushed Strawberries in it. You get one free refill on it. We had the first iron steak with fettuccine and cream sauce plus the lasagna bolognese. Both were delicious. The prices arent too bad either.

Ciao, they have excellent food BUT the reason i’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the 17.86% increase to all pasta dishes, rising from $11.5 to $14 ($2.50). Alfredo’s and cream/dairy dishes I can comprehend(kinda) but some are unjustifiable because inflation for those items aren’t anywhere near 18%; I’m disappointed, I thought they were for the people. Secondly, when we order the 16’ pizza our crust is soft and under cooked but the 12’ is on par, with just the right crisp and flop. From a NY pizza guy, invest in a hotter brick oven.. or brush some evo mixture on the bottom of pan or crust [please :( ] I highly recommend trying tho if you have not its a great spot with good food, at the end of the day, this is what matters. I absolutely adore this place. The pasta is always fantastic. The food is great. My only complaint would be that the breading on the chicken parm was a bit heavy but not overly so. The decor is not over the top. I love the high back upholstered bench seats...complete with down throw pillows! It seems like they put a lot of thought into keeping the decor simple and modern. Also, they used the space really well. Its a small restaurant and they did a wonderful job placing furniture that looked well AND utilized every inch appropriately. Every item that I have had off the menu is always great. Ive never been disappointed here.

I got a chicken parmesan with a tomato soup Both tasteful both have a homey/Nonna type of feel. The cherry on top, I took a video call meeting in my table after the meal. I had lunch today with an old friend at Italgo Restaurant. The menu was wonderful and the lunch specials were very affordable. The restaurant has selections of beer and wine at affordable prices. The service was exceptional. I had the Tagliatelle, shrimp tomato sauce and artichokes and my friend had the Linguini with clams. Both meals came with pasta that was very delicious. When you go, be sure to get some of the freshly baked bread that is covered with cheese. It is extremely good. If you like crème brûlée, you have to try theirs. It is perfect.
