2023-10-30 19:47:15The food here is great. The atmosphere is lively and good for just casual dining or small group gatherings. The service is overall good except for one lady server with short hair! We asked her for one picture and she said Im too busy! So we spend over $500 in bills but shes too busy for us for 1 picture? It would have taken 10 seconds off her precious time! Anyhow, overall, we still had a good time!

2023-11-21 05:10:02One of my most favorite Japanese restaurants. Very decent delicious food, beef intestine, pork hotpot and beef tongue are my must order dishes. But the changes hand pull noodle in hotpot set to regular yellow ramen this year, I loved the old style noodle way much more

2023-10-29 17:38:00Came here for dinner on a Saturday night after the OC Japan Fair. Made reservations through OpenTable. We ordered motsunabe, Yakitori skewers, beef tongue, and salad. The octopus and radish salad and motsunabe are recommended. The Yakitori skewers and beef tongue were overcooked and disappointing. The service was excellent and the restaurant has nice interior. But its very noisy and hard to have a nice conversation. The food at their Torrance location is better especially the grilled food. The parking at this shopping center is difficult as half the lot is reserved for stupid valet parking. So show up early to get your parking spot.

2023-09-04 06:06:31Ive never felt so old, or maybe it was the seat I was in, but I couldnt hear my table conversation, nor the servers well. The BGM wasnt particularly loud, and it wasnt a packed house, but I had a hard time fully enjoying my stay due to the overwhelming noise.Wait staff is friendly but could have used more frequent check-ins.My wife, Japanese, wanted to come on recommendation from some Japanese friends. We left underwhelmed. The oysters were very fresh. kids had udon and chirashi-Don, these were fine. We also had motsu nabe, unagi roll, these were fine. I tried the home-made fish cake which I really enjoyed.Overall the food is good, but I didnt find anything to bring me back rather than hit the Mitsuwa food court next time we are in the area.

2023-02-20 02:58:29I believe that most of people in the US still don’t know Motsu Nabe which is an intestine hot pot and how tasty it is.If you have been to Japan, you would know that whenever you suddenly start wanting to eat something particularly, you can most likely find and get it. That impulse feeling happened to me yesterday as I really want to eat Motsu Nabe.I noticed that there are some restaurants provide it here in Orange County. I researched rating of each restaurant, review and distance then I decided to go to this Izakaya restaurant.Although I usually talk with restaurant’s people how they get food and how they cook etc, I just didn’t have a chance to talk this time. The first thing what I was impressed was raw oysters. I was just wondering where they got them. Ponze which soy sauce with vinegar which is one of the most popular ways to eat worked so much too me. It was delicious.Other dishes like gobo (root) sliced chips and Sashimi were great but I want to talk about the Motsu Nabe. Of course it was not as good as really good one in Japan but it had decent taste which I can be satisfied. They have soy sauce soup and spicy miso soup choices. They provide rice or ramen to put in the hot pot afterwards. Taste and quantity wise it’s worth to try. They also have Izakaya drink like sake, shochu and Chu-hi as well.

2023-04-25 04:37:264.5 stars. Loved most of it but some things.I got the wagyu and uni and it was amazing! For $27 you get three spoons of uni with wagyu beef and they were bombs of delicious flavor. The eel nigiri was serviceable. For the yakitori, the chicken meatball was so juicy and flavorful but the duck was dry, over cooked and under seasoned. I sat at the bar and I wished it was more like an izakaya where the chef could hand you food and give you recs. Instead, it’s almost closed off to the chef and you can’t see them work because it’s so high and also stacked high with dishes and other instruments. Service was awesome and quick, would definitely come back to try more things

2022-02-12 03:15:08The grilled beef tongue is the star tonight. Sweet shrimps are tasty but not special. I also like beef wrapped uni, my first time trying it and it was GOOD. The miso soup is not too bad but I dont think it is necessary for the meal. Mayo crispy shrimps are not recommended. Overall, we had a great time here. The staff are so nice and friendly! Will come back again! ❤

2023-04-12 10:25:10It can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a long time if you do walk in. Best to call for reservations. They got hot pot, sushi, skewers, all the classics, and of course booze. Everything is done to Japanese high standards.
