2023-08-08 02:24:37The food here arrives very quickly and their lava bun was very rich. Their fried manitou is a must try, served with condensed milk. The crispiness is just right with a chewy texture on the inside, complemented perfectly when dipped in the condensed milk. They also offer a variety of dim sum from shu mai to har gow. The wait can be long sometimes, however, but overall the food here is consistently good.

2023-09-19 20:00:01They changed chefs and this new chef doesn’t know how to make good chicken. Previous chef made good chicken but this new chicken is horrible. 😳🙈 The lobster congee was pretty much all lobster shell.

2023-03-26 04:51:40The flavor deserve a 4.5 star. We ordered five dim sums, three salty dishes, three buns, all between good and exceptional. The honey brown sugar cake was an unexpected surprise, good and unique. The buns were well made crispy and flavoury. The price is decent, standard good quality dim sum price. Although service is poor because they are usually too busy.

2023-01-22 06:51:35Extremely disappointed. We had a reservation for 7:30pm. Did not get seated until 8:15. Then food was not out until 9:30… are you serious?? I get that it’s lunar new year but I thought service would be better especially when the person on the phone who I made the the reservation for said “we want to take your order ahead of time to avoid any delays on the actual day”. Despite this message, we still waited a good hour and a half past our reservation for food to come out. That’s not to mention my constant reminder to the waiter asking for where the food was. I would ask once, two dishes come out, then we wait another hour, ask again, two more come out. At the end of the night, we just couldn’t wait anymore. We cut the bill and just paid for what was brought out and cancelled the rest. As an “apology”, they gave us complimentary sesame balls which the waiter claims are “very famous and delicious”. They are not. They are over fried and tasted like it had been sitting on the counter for hours. The fish was also very tiny for the size of the plate. By the way, this tiny fish costed $137…. The pork belly was all fat and no meat. The duck was too oily and not even hot. The tea was probably the best thing I had that night, which by the way they took away when I asked for a refill. To be waiting this long for food that looks and tastes like what I can order from a fast food wok place, it is not worth it and I’d rather go to even Panda Express then try this place again even on a regular non-holiday. Showing this display of service tells me even on a regular day, I would be getting the same type of service. The BUS BOY gave GREAT service. He was attentive to us and even tapped on the waiter for us. The bus boy deserves a promotion. He was a better waiter than anyone here. Will not be recommending this to anyone.

2023-12-04 03:40:42Weekend evening around 6pm. Multiple items in the menu not available like sweet sour pork, shrimp, & crab. Came here before and service was good but tonight was anything but. 40% capacity yet no service from waiters, trying to flag them down was a challenge. They are not attentive. Maybe the business is under new management? Waitress gave us a disrespectful facial expression as she turned her back saying they are too busy when asking for some sauce. They forgot to make one of the dishes (tofu). Can’t say I would come back anytime soon. This was just awful service and wouldn’t want anyone else to experience the same especially if they are celebrating a special occasion.

2023-03-07 04:22:07The service inside the private room was excellent. I didn’t even have to stand up to pour wine or get food. It was all done by staff. Our group ordered geoduck clams, Alaskan king crab, and Peking duck…Everything was delicious. Seafood was very fresh but it does not come cheap. Be prepared to bring your credit card.

2023-09-08 16:05:08Absolutely no complaints about food. My family enjoyed all the ordered dishes. Service was great when we asked for it. So its not like your typical Western restaurant service. The atmosphere is excellent. My only surprise was the final price on the bill, but we did have enough leftovers for one more person. Including tip, I spent close to $50 per person.

2023-03-23 01:56:32I am an avid fan of Dim Sum and usually eat at restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley and Chinatown. Today I traveled to Tustin after being told this restaurants dim sum is superior to most. That was a huge understatement. From the perfectly prepared har gow to the wrapped pork and delicate pork filled pastry, the food was excellent in flavor and consistency. The noodles were not too thick and steamed and cooked on point. The meats were grizzle free and immensely flavorful. My favorite was the pork filled rice noodle and tripe though my least favorite was the baked bao albeit it was still quite good.Aesthetically, the interior decor is beautiful. I highly recommend J Zhou for a superior eating experience.
