I absolutely love having Janet’s Mediterranean Cuisine. Their food is always fresh and delicious. The kabobs, hummus, tabbouleh, and Greek salad are juicy and flavorful. I really like their rice and warm bread. 🥰I order the combo plate for two people. It feeds the 4 of us. I get take out often. Janet’s has a dining area. The service is friendly. It’s best to call to have your order ready because good food can’t be rushed. So happy I can get really good Mediterranean food close to home. I highly recommend this place.

Drove from afar to try this and honestly I dont know what the hype is about. The food was okay. My salad was wilted...it definitely had been sitting. The amount of rice they give you is ridiculous. They charge too much for all that rice and wilted salad. The small amount of chicken and hummus were good. I will definitely not return.

A hit and miss my last few trips, but this time they nailed it and it was a delivery order which was surprising. Last time the meat was over cooked and dry. I also waited forever for my food and I even called ahead. This time I tried delivery and was such a different experience.Food was packed well and cooked perfectly. Salad was fresh and tasty. Hummus delicious. And pita fresh and warm. Rice was not my fave, but tasty. Just prefer the buttery Persian version at some other places. It did taste good, just not the style I prefer. The chicken and beef kebabs were top notch though. Very well cooked and seasoned. Definitely enough for two people to share. The garlic sauce wasn’t my fave either, but not usually something I eat a lot of anyway. GF was disappointed though.All in all, an order I would place again. A little more consistency and an improvement here and there will kick it up to 5 stars, but a solid 4 stars for now.

Been coming here for years when Janet was still the owner, the food and menu is still the same came here with my daughter.We had a wonderful experience the only thing I noticed not up to par was the salad, Janet would never use wilted lettuce 🥬 she would not allow that! There arent that many restaurants here. Ive found 2 kabob places and both are good. This one gives garlic sauce that made the food better. Service was excellent. If I go back to Duarte again, Ill definitely stop by.

My wife and I stopped by Janets on our way home for dinner. My last visit was a few years ago as at that time, I had worked in the area.Today I had the chicken Sharma, and my wife had the marinated chicken. The meals were filling and included rice, hummus, and salad.Of the two meals, the marinated chicken was better than mine. My chicken was a bit dry and did not have a lot of flavor. Nonetheless, I would order it again as perhaps it was an off night.

When I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and smells that reminded me of restaurants in the Middle East. Entrees are cook to order. I ordered grape leaves, the Hummus Special and a Greek salad. Portion size easily serves two. Will be returning soon!

This restaurant survived a fire and a pandemic and thank God it did. Their food is so fresh and delicious. I could eat the salad every day. You order at the counter, seat yourself and wait for your number to be called. They are expanding the seating area which is great. The menu includes general Mediterranean cuisine. I had chicken kabob, rice salad, humus and pita bread. It was portioned perfectly and the chicken, moist and well seasoned. 😋

This is an average Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant. I ordered 3 wraps; chicken, beef, and lamb. In addition, I had ordered 2 baklava pastries which were charged on my receipt even though none were placed in my bag. The wraps were ok, mediocre. The staff here is overworked while the boss lady prances around with a Baskin Robbins birthday cake instead of assisting het employees. The management here rather let customers wait 30-45 min for each order instead of helping out their employees during busy hours. Just because youre an owner does not mean your hands are made of gold, Jesus. Food is decent but customer service sucks.

Got the Lule Kebab dinner to go. Everything was delicious! The kebab was well seasoned and flavorful, the salad had a really good dressing, and the rice was really good. Most places dont put much effort into the sides, but Janets does.You absolutely HAVE to get a side of garlic sauce, because the sauce here is better than almost every other Mediterranean restaurant Ive been to (and Ive been to a lot).Im not a hummus fan, so if youre wondering why I left that out, its because I didnt try it. I dont eat it from any restaurant, so I cant offer any advice on it.Several co-workers recommended this place, and they were absolutely right.

It seems as if the food changed a little bit. My chicken wasnt as delicious as I remember it. The salad was great 👍. My yogurt cucumber dip was a bit watery. When you walk in and nobody says anything to you is not a good look. We walked in them after about 5 minutes someone says hi well be with you shortly. I almost walked out seeing that they were not doing anything but chatting amongst each other. But I like how they keep expanding tho because this place gets packed at lunch time.

This place used to be our go to mediterranean restaurant, we didnt mind the price that seems like its going up everytime we go there. Like the other day I placed an order online for pickup and guess what? they now charge $2 for service fee. Two dollars just for placing an order? Its probably not a lot to some, but it could already be a meal for someone else.They must have changed their cook/chef recently, their food used to be really really really good, from the pita bread to the salad, to the rice and the hummus, and of course the meats. But now, the pita bread is just too flat and kinda hard and chewy, the hummus is bland and almost watery. The side salad also is now tasteless to say the least. And the meat, for the first time ever, we had left overs, luckily our dog didnt mind the smell of the meats that it didnt used to have before. It seemed like the meats were not marinated or cooked properly. I could probably understand if it was just one of the meat that was not good, but both the beef and the lamb were smelly. And of course it tasted like it smelled.We used to recommend this place to all of our friends, we even bring this food to parties, but sadly, we will be retracting those recommendation. :(

The food at Janets is okay. I wish she had more spice, soul and oomph to it. However, its a great option if you looking for a vegetarian meal, say like a falafel roll. Just ask for extra garlic and harissa sauce. Salud!

So friendly and accommodating. We arrived just a few minutes before closing and ordered several plates. They sat us inside and even gave us free dessert. The food was really good. The best Mediterranean around! The meat is crazy tender and extremely fresh. The rice almost tastes buttery, it is so good. I ordered 3 plates to try what I think are 3 staples...beef kabob, chicken kabob, and shawarma. ALL 3 were dead on the money with great flavor and the beef tenderness was amazing! This place is delicious! My family, that isn’t very adventurous in exploring new foods, were pleasantly surprised of how good it was. The first time we ordered from here we order the plate for 2 and it was more than enough for 2 people. We tried the lamb, beef and chicken kabobs and asked to make the salad a Greek salad. 3 of us were able to eat from that and still had some left overs. The second time I came, I ordered the beef kabob plate and it was a lot of food but I still ate most of it lol. The food was so good, the salad and the hummus is so good as well. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it, it won’t leave you feeling hungry. I highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back.

Fabulous fare. Great place to eat if near City of Hope.Fresh. Sit down area is next to the order area. We enjoyed the appetizer platter. Yum. Alittle of everything enough for 3 or 4 people. They gave us a top to he platter so we could take the rest home. Will come back again soon.

Guy at the register gives you a cold service. Even water is not free. They charges me $2 to switch ingredients in a combo pate which itself is pricey. Food quality not that grat. You can taste the frozen ingredients. Janets has lost it.

Janet’s is quite unassuming. I walked in and did not quite know what to expect.Then they did not have any falafel!! But then it dawned on me … it was because she had just told me they make everything by hand and had not had the time today!So she was so kind in giving me some alternatives to which I chose the moussaka plate and some baklava.I am always a bit cautious in visiting new stores, especially food establishments with my medical alert service dog. Though completely within my right, some businesses do not care and have harassed me or kicked me out. All the employees at Janet’s were kind to both myself and my service dog. It was a pleasant surprise.In a matter of a few minutes my order was up and I was on my way. I waved goodbye and promised to be back to try the falafel.As I sat down to eat my meal, it was huge!! I was starving and only was able to eat about 1/2. It has to be one of the best Mediterranean food I have eaten. You can tell much love and care has been put into their cooking. I cannot wait to go back.

Try the lamb!!! Ive never had lamb before in my life. This was my first experience and it was absolutely delicious. Not gamy or chewy and seasoned to perfection! Their butcher knows a thing or two working with meat for 50 years, hes a magician with his meats. Usually I take photos of my food, but I got carried away with the first bite and couldnt stop.If you are like me and not a fan of baklava because of it tasting solely of sugar syrup, then I recommend the baklava here. You taste the nuts, the spices, and its not too sweet at all!The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The owners enjoy making their customers happy and we had fun making jokes and chatting.Will definitely be coming here more often. I cant believe Ive lived next to this place for almost 2 yrs and never tried it.

We ordered the basic falafel Plate, substituting the rice for more pita, which the they accommodated without any qualms. The portions were bigger than a serving for a single person and was delicious. I visited Janets a while back before the fire and I was underwhelmed by the service and how long it took to get a simple chicken kabob plate. Mediocre at best. Flash forward to Dec of 2021. The same, except now theres a place to sit and be underwhelmed. Also, they brought out food for a customer while I was sitting there then made me come to the counter to get my food. Obviously they dont want my business. Next door you can buy the ingredients and cook it at home to get better tasting food.

Ive been here twice for lunch. The food is absolutely delicious. I have to say my first few tries at Mediterranean food werent great, and Janets has changed my mind. I ordered the same item both times, the chicken and beef kebab plate. The meat was juicy, tender, and their marinade was great. Comes with a salad with a vinaigrette dressing, some seasoned rice, hummus, and flat bread. You wont be disappointed if that sounds good to you. The portion is a good size too. Lunchtime is busy so be prepared for a little wait if you get there right at noon.

I was in the neighborhood and decided to have lunch at Janets. I had the chicken kebab. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The garlic sauce was fantastic. I did not enjoy the hummus that much. On a stop for food while leaving the LA area, we found this spot. I had a chicken wrap that was loaded with very tasty chicken kebab pieces and veggies. Very good. Also had a very good hummus and some falafel. Good food in a casual location. Not the fastest stop for food, so if time is important you may want to go elsewhere.

Well this place is really good,I’m disappointed in this evening’s chicken salad. Because I count my calories a couple months ago I asked how many ounces of chicken was in their chicken salad and was told 8. And it did appear that I had 8 ounces of chicken. A couple weeks ago it seemed like that was not the case and when I weighed the chicken it was only 5 1/2 ounces. This evening the chicken was only 4 1/2 ounces. I don’t think I can justify spending $15 for some lettuce tomato cucumber and 4 1/2 ounces of chicken anymore.

Ordered the sampler platter andwas stuck trying to decide what was best. I got my moneys worth and it was all delicious. Baba ganoush was smoky, tabouleh well flavored, grape leaves good seasoning (and thats something Im real picky about). Friend ordered the falafel plate and tried hers as well, just as good, not dry as it sometimes is. I wish I lived closer except theyd prob have to roll me out the door.

Ok, I love Mediterranean food and was actually told about this restaurant by some co workers who swore by this place. Ive visited Daphnes and loved the variety of food there. Someone assured me that Janets was better.Well...They were 100% right, the food was absolutely delicious. I will visit here several times in the near future. Yes, the place is clean, the climate is positive and the food is superb!In the meantime, they have what could be called a sampler plate with beef, chicken a salad, and pita bread. This was some of the most flavorful and tender chicken Ive had in a long time. The beef (cut similar to the chicken in big chunks), was just as tender and flavorful. These two meats were absolutely fantastic. The salad is a simple mix of lettuce, lots of pepper and some very flavorful dressing. The overall execution of the salad was awesome.I can bit say enough positives about Janets in Monrovia.My only suggestion is try it and if you like Mediterranean food, I can guaranty you will live this restaurant.An easy five star restaurant. This is a must visit.

I went in on Thursday 12-17 and ordered a chicken kabob dinner with an additional chicken kabob a la carte.. I was craving Janets Mediterranean. When i got my order i went to my car to enjoy my food, that did not happen.. There was a long blond hair on my chicken kabob... FREAKING GROSS!!! I THREW THE WHOLE ORDER IN THE TRASH.. Especially to her older employee 😞.I order a side of grilled jalapeños and she refused to take my debit card, she asked me if I had cash I said no and she rolled her eyes... really! Childish I say! Ordered dinner thru postmates, was almost done with meal enjoying my salad when all of a sudden I noticed something small and green moving on the romaine leaf it was little worms. It camouflages with the romaine lettuce. We called the restaurant and we were told that it was not true. Wish I could add a picture of it, but I would gross people out. We were told that if we wanted refund we had to call postmates. I didnt care about refund, just for them to really clean lettuce. Needless to say, first time eating there is also my last time. Please check your salad before you put it in your mouth. If they want proof I have it.
