2023-11-21 16:22:11When eaten the same day or the day after, the donuts are good. We liked the old-fashioned (which is a glazed cruller) and the chocolate glaze but the raspberry jelly donut was barely filled and after overall the sugar glaze was getting to be a lot. The dough is nice and soft, but I wish that it had some sweetness instead of relying on a sugar glaze for flavor, which is why I think the old-fashioned is the best - there are lots of edges to give it texture and the right sugar to dough ratio. They accept credit card for donuts if you purchase over $10, but oddly they are cash only for everything else, which was pho for lunch in our case. Given the lack of options in the area (both an actual and food desert), it is an okay meal to give some variety, but nothing to write home about.

2023-05-26 19:07:43My brother and I are visiting from out of town to see our brother in the Marines. We are Vietnamese so we were so excited about spotting this quirky little restaurant. Jelly donuts AND pho? So interesting. But, we didn’t even get to eat there because the customer service churned our stomachs away and we lost our appetite. Right when we walked in, the young Asian man was rude and short with us. Not friendly and not what we were expecting for such a highly rated spot. Then, when we placed our order the worker said “cash only” but in a rude way and that was the last straw. We turned around and just left. They really need to train their workers to be more hospitable and friendly. It’s unfortunate but I can’t support a business and give them my money if they’re not kind and appreciative of our business. Maybe it was an off day or something but it wasn’t busy at all. No reason for that man to be rude. Nobody was eating anything outside the place. I also think they need to renovate and clean the place up because it looked dingy and unloved. Really wanted to like the place and overlook all these other issues but that staff member was definitely the last straw.

2023-04-28 18:45:22First time visiting. Went with my husband who absolutely loves Pho & Vietnamese food. San Diego ruined Pho for me but I think this place has redeemed it! We got there Pho & absolutely enjoyed the heck out of it. They also have boba but theirs is brown sugar based and not the usual black tapioca. Please add alcohol to the menu 🥂Also why is this place called jelly donut!?? LolI highly recommend and I’ll definitely return.

2023-11-14 02:03:26First time leaving a restaurant because of the service. The young man behind the counter was very short and rude with us and the customers ahead of us. Very off-putting. Its a shame because the location was highly recommended and the food looked great. Other reviews seem to show that this has been an issue for at least 6 months. Not sure what the deal is but it doesnt make me want to spend my money here.

2023-11-26 23:00:01Thought it was strange to go to a donut shop to order pho. Was told to by a friend from work. I WAS WRONG. The pho was amazing, filling, hearty, and amazing, perfect for a cold winter day. This is one of the highlights of living in 29 palms. If you havent tried it yet, I suggest you do. I had the #1 beef pho, and my fiancé had the #7 vegitarian pho. Both were A+. Will definitely be back.

2023-11-01 02:36:25Absolutely the most rude young man working. It’s shocking to go somewhere with such poor customer service in a very small town where that reputation truly matters more than anywhere else. The food was great but it felt wrong supporting an establishment that obviously has no interest in operating. Very confusing dynamic
