What can I say! I am behold disappointed in Jim’s. I called in to place an order for pick up 5 days later. I wanted 4 14oz steaks 🥩. Shouldn’t be difficult right. Wrong! When I arrived 5 days later to pick up my order, the young man at the counter asked how can he help me I told him I was her to pick up my order. He asked me for my name and said he would be right back. 5-7 min later he comes back and asked me again what it was that I ordered. I told him again 4 14oz fillet steaks. At this point he said okay and then left for about 10 more min. Mind you I don’t mind waiting it’s the holidays I get it we are all busy. He came back and said here is your order.Seems to have went okay! After a little more shopping I went home and started to get things prepared to marinate the steaks over night. This is where I lost 😡 it! After unpacking the steaks i come to notes none of the steaks were cut evenly to the 14oz weight I had given. See images. Not to mention after I noticed the huge difference. I weighted it myself and only had 2.9 lbs well 4 14oz steaks should come out to a total of 3.5lbs. So at this point my steaks are not the same weight and are in trimmed. A filet mignon steak should always be trimmed. All in All I was probably better off going to smart and final or a food for less with this quality that I was given.Looking back they obviously never placed my order or overlooked it or who knows. The young man never apologized for my order not being fulfilled, or apologizing for waiting. After all of the waiting, he had handed me the order, as if it was already packaged and was waiting for pick up, which clearly was not the case. While I was waiting, I could see him talking to the other workers, and was in the back on one of cutting boards so so it’s pretty obvious he was preparing my order right then and there. It was bad service and even worse quality! I don’t care how much something cost as long as I get what I asked for and in this case nothing matches what I asked for.Never ever again will I go back to Jim’s

Holy guacamole this place rocks. Huge sandwiches (50/50 pictured, had to work to finish it!), extremely nice staff, right atmosphere the moment you smell that smoked meat from your car... and the tastes. WOW! BBQ Mac and cheese w/ black beans is a wise side choice. Will be back!

Reason for visiting: pick up a couple of steaks for pre Mothers Day BBQDate/time of visit: Saturday morning, ~9:15 AMParking: in the adjacent lot, free. No valet. Also parking on the street if the lot is full.Party size: 1Environment/ambience: great place to pick up quality meats. They also sell Korean BBQ (limit to 3 lbs per order when I was there, maybe due to the meat shortage) and seafood. They sell other items too (cereal, etc), not just meats. They also have a food truck (Calabasas custom catering) outside every Saturday and Sunday selling cooked BBQ meats and chicken. Smelled great but didnt try any.Service: was great. The wait wasnt too long since I was there right after opening but it was pretty busy. The guy behind the counter explained dry age, wet age, and tips on seasoning.Food: picked up 2 Tomahawks and 2 porterhouses. 1 Tomahawk was dry aged and 1 wet age (marinated in its own sauces). Porterhouses werent aged. There were other steaks too: NY, prime sirloin, etc.Cost: ~$150 for 4 steaks. Tomahawks were more expensive obviously; each Tomahawks were 2.25 and ~2.7 lbs (~$110); Porterhouses were 2.25 lbs total (~$36).

I went there with my mother in law a couple weeks ago. We were deciding what steak to get when the person behind the counter rolled his eyes because my 85 year old 30 year or more customer was taking to long. I noticed the man was not wearing gloves and picked up raw meat and raw pork. He had no hair net for his unkept beard and hair. The quality has gone way down. The baby back ribs had about six inches of fatty flap at the end, no ribs. The lady slicing meat for a sandwich was not wearing gloves and was rubbing her nose. While complaining about working there. The lady checking people out had her young child there running around the store. If I could give no stars I would. This place has gotten so bad I will never go there again. I do a lot of smoking meats and BBQ. All of my friends have had a similar experience. We all will never go there again. That includes my 85 yr old mother in law and all her friends. What a shame this place used to be so great. Now its a place to run from!

Love this old country market-- I always get the Brazilian beef, carne asada, shish kabobs, any any amount of their declicious bacon, salmon, steaks, sausages. Best place to buy meat in LA.

SO DONE with Jims Fallbrook Market....after 40 years. Mike, Pat, Corey, Staff were great. Always personable, pleasant, with a smile. Ive tried to support this market since Mike sold about a year ago....figuring they had their Covid challenges, supply chain challenges, etc. But the rude comment and service I received today....when what I ordered this morning was nowhere to be found was inexcuseable. Hello Sprouts...my new go-to for fresh, healthy, quality meats and seafood, and service with a smile!

Old school market with a really good bbq. The 1/2 & 1/2 sandwich and the chicken taco were both really good. The Mac n cheese and BBQ beans were also tasty af. Quick service.

Came in here during the start of the pandemic and was blown away on how everything looked so good meat deli produce and groceries I remember Them always helping me out with kegs and beer recommendations and the friendly elderly man in meat department who would always help me out. came in here not to long ago and was utterly disappointed front of the house was a mess saw one of the girls behind the deli counter laughing so loud while cutting meat without a hair net how gross first of all and she looked like the oldest what type of example to the rest of her coworkers second of all I found a lot of 711 items with high prices and a lot of expired fruits vegetables and groceries this place has gone down hill bad what a shame and now I hear they might have rats phewww I can say a year later it’s the same as it was from my old review just worst

Excellent and amazing selection of meats of every variety. This stores quality and price is unreal. Please be prepared to be patient as the line may be long at the butcher shop but it is definitely worth the wait!

Jim’s is hands-down the best butcher in the valley. They have the best beef and fresh fish selection. They’ll even find the more obscure meats you might need. You come here for the quality, and it’s the best. It’s also a great little grocery store with excellent produce, wine and essentials.
