It is solid, if not spectacular sushi option at the busy stretch of Santa Monica Blvd. Friendly unpretentious place, competent service, fairly reasonable prices, and good sashimi/nigiri/rolls options. Fresh and sushi grade, needless to say, but didnt have wow factor for me. Still, quite good!

Simply excellent. Im worried that these types of Japanese restaurants are fading. This place totally reminds me of what Nippon used to be in Toluca Lake. High level of craft is what you need when the dish only has two components. The best part, no kewpie with siracha anywhere ;)

YES YES YES!! Jinpachi is no question one of the best sushi spots in LA. it is unassuming and authentic; the owners are from japan and the fish is fresh and absolutely delicious. I was a regular at Jinpachi when they opened in 2007, then moved away… and after 15 years they are still absolutely top notch! Highly recommend the carpaccios (all of them) and also the spicy tuna crispy rice is a MUST. can’t wait to come back on my next trip to LA.

Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had - it’s expensive (dinner for two with a bottle of wine was $360 including tip) but worth every penny! The oysters, octopus carpaccio and scallop nigiri were highlights of an utterly wonderful smorgasbord.

Fantastic sushi in a small but obviously loved restaurant. I was lucky to squeeze in at the bar. Everyone else was a regular. I got a variety of sashimi and the quality was great.

Got there late but managed to squeeze in a few rolls and sashimi. It was excellent. Fair price for sushi, super fresh, well prepared, nice presentation, friendly staff, fast service.

Good quality sushi. Service was good. They get busy so make a reservation. A bit pricey for me but quality of is good not sure if it justifies the price. 2 people around $60-70We had 2 sushi rolls teriyaki chicken which didnt come with rice. And a tofu appetizer.

One of my favorite WeHo sushi restaurants. I would not say this is the best sushi in LA, but the sushi and sashimi are always well prepared and more Japanese oriented than many other places offering sushi in the area. Sure they have a California roll and a few other common rolls but you are better served eating nigiri style here.

Wow! Finally found an amazing sushi spot in LA. I really like sushi Fumi, but it’s somewhat inauthentic and lots of sauces on their sushi. Jinpachi is the first sushi restaurant that I throughly enjoyed in LA for its simplicity and flavor. I go to sushi in San Diego a lot (which has the best sushi in the country). This place reminds me of Hane Sushi from San Diego. The seaweed used for the handrolls are really crunchy and nice. The Spicy tuna crispy rice was fantastic. I had a bunch of different nigiris (no rolls).If you enjoy traditional style sushi, then this is a great option; especially in Los Angeles (which lacks authentic, fresh, good sushi).

The sushi herd is as good or better than anywhere else in LA. The staff and service is great. Unfortunately, since they moved their seating outdoors due to covid, they allowed their patrons smoke cigarettes at their tables while other people eat.

Worst service experience ever...Showed up for our reservation and the hostess sat us at the bar, everything was going fine until in the middle of our meal when the hostess made us move to a table!! She rudely insisted that we give up our seats for another set of customers! Ive never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and its not like we had been taking long to eat either.Obviously we wont be going back which is unfortunate since we live in the neighborhood and would eat here from time to time.Fish is generally decent, but certainly not the best LA has to offer.

Great atmosphere and delicious sushi, filled with localsThis is easily the best sushi experience Ive ever had. I went here in early April 2017 with my girlfriend (were both Norwegian), but we felt like we fit right in despite almost everyone in the restaurant being locals.We were able to order our sushi and drinks in English with no trouble, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We even got to speak to a few locals, some of whom offered us hot sake!The food is fairly cheap, especially considering the quality of the restaurant and sushi.If youre staying in Kyoto and like having a good time (with sushi), you have to try Genpachi Sushi. I will definitely go back next time Im in Kyoto!

Came here for birthday. Great fish, very food service. Small, hole in the wall feel. Very cozy. Had the omakase and enjoyed every offering. Foie gras sushi was very unique and delicious. Hard when you just get back from Tokyo to truly compare any place. Attention to detail at a whole other level in Tokyo but very good here. About $130 each and would definitely come back. The wasabi was a little overwhelming for me but everything else was great. Highly recommended.

We had the omakase here. It was a bit hit or miss compared to others Ive had. I expected much better for being charged $130 per person. Service was a bit on the slow side too.

Made reservations. Was really looking forward to trying this place! Waitress was rude and abrupt. Would not give us sushi bar seats. If you are going to make people reserve a specific location you should tell the on the phone when the reservation is made. Worst waitress I have spoken to in years. Jinpachi lost tonight’s business and any future business from us. Avoid this place considering it’s LA and there are plenty of better choices.
