We tried the Traditional hand pulled noodles on their grand opening for $1.99 each. We had mild spicy, regular noodles. The noodle was super great, chewy to eat. You can see the noodles are handmade because each noodle has different thickness. The soup is good flavor and not too heavy. There are like 6-7 pieces beef inside, very tender and pretty big portion. This is certainly the best Lanzhou noodle place in this area.

I came in with my family tonight as my mom and aunt have been hyping up these noodles. We were pleasantly surprised by a grand opening special where they were doing the traditional bowls for $1.99. Since it was the grand opening, they were only making three dishes on the menu and we couldn’t customize the type of noodles we wanted.I ordered the traditional bowl and was very disappointed with the meal. The broth was very salty and I couldn’t even get close to finishing it. The star of the show should’ve been the noodles since these are fresh and hand pulled. However, the noodles were super overcooked and mushy. The texture was just completely wrong. I also found a hair floating in my bowl which grossed me out.I understand that the restaurant wanted to focus on a select few dishes since the bowls were going for $1.99. However, the food was so disappointing and my whole family regretted driving over 30min for this. We honestly would’ve preferred to pay full price for better quality food.

Delicious broth and noodles! a perfectly crafted meal. I must say that the staffs service was exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to assist. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering valuable recommendations that made my dining experience all the more delightful. The chefs in the open kitchen were incredibly skilled, crafting each dish with precision and care. I left the restaurant with a full belly and a heart full of gratitude for the outstanding service provided by the dedicated team. This restaurant truly knows how to create a memorable dining experience.

We absolutely loved the authentic beef noodle soup they serve. The portion size was perfect for us, and we couldnt understand why others found it small. With 15$, the bowl of beef noodle soup was satisfyingly hearty. The addition of three small plates of veggies with 20$ option was a delightful bonus. Every spoonful was bursting with delicious flavors. Highly recommended!Note that tip is calculated as after tax...

Had the braised beef noodle soup! The noodles were a great texture and the soup was very tasty . The flavor of the cucumbers was great, would recommend to folks who really like vinegar taste. Service was fast! Would definitely come again.

The most rip off restaurant I ever been. $9 for 4 pieces of wings. Not the whole wings, only the mid joint. A $15 bowl of beef noodle soup, I only can found 4 pieces of thin cut meats. Never go back again.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the traditional beef noodles at this hidden gem of a restaurant, and I must say, they are absolutely delicious! I used to drive a good 20 minutes to another spot when I had cravings for Lanzhou noodles, but those days are gone. This place not only matches but surpasses that experience. What sets this place apart is the flavor of their broth. Its on a whole different level compared to ox9. Even though the portion might be slightly smaller, the taste more than makes up for it. As a person with a modest appetite, I find the portion here just right. Unlike at my previous haunt, I never end up wasting noodles. The meat portions are just as generous, and heres the interesting part: the quantity of meat is the same, but this places broth brings out a superior flavor. Its a trade-off Im more than happy to make.Although Ill admit, a small part of me wants to keep this place a secret. I cant help but worry that if more people discover it, therell be long lines every single time. But I suppose great food deserves to be shared. 😋

Incredibly authentic noodles! Both chefs are from Lanzhou and the owner spent months himself studying the art of noodle making in China before opening this restaurant. Their effort and dedication really shows in the taste of the food! Yum 🤤Plus it’s a nice place to get some work done. Fast wifi, good coffee, accessible outlets, large table and airy environment makes it a great choice to get some work done before and after food.

The word Ramen comes from Chinese Lamian. Just like Japan, Lamian is meant as a fast food for blue collar originally. Anyways the word literally means pulled noodles and a good pulled noodles had a certain chewiness thats very difficult to immitate using machines.Anyways the best lamian originated from a province called Gansu and interestingly this restaurant claims to be from that region. Note that many of the people who makes lamian in China are Muslim Chinese so you normally wont find pork there. This place is decorated just like a typical lamian place from China even the bronze statue looks right. The place is big enough and decorated just right so it does bring some nostalgia. One complaint I typically have about lamian place even in China is the lack of meat and the lack of variety of meat in the lamian. Because it was meant as a cheap fast food for blue collar so the noodle is the main point of the dish. The meat is just to add flavor which is in direct contrast to noodles from the south including Taiwan where whats in the soup including the meat is the focus. This restaurant doesnt have the 二细 or secondary thinness choice of the noodle which is a letdown but Id recommend the thick (not the super flat one just the normal thick one). The soup Id recommend the non spicy one if you want authenticity.Overall its a good addition to Millbrae downtown and its good enough even if its nothing special.I would recommend it if you like noodles or are nostalgic about Lanzhou lamian.I like the lamb kebabs though because there is a mix of fat and lean lamb so its good. This place also uses that annoying 20+% tablet when you pay.

The most authentic beef noodles soup I had in the bay area! The service is friendly too. I had the beef noodles soup with the cold vegi appetizer on the side, and they are really yummy. Overall its a very good place and I would like to revisit soon.
