I was getting a drink from Starbucks and I can smell teriyaki wafting through the air. I walked over to the restaurant and ordered their chicken and beef combo. Its grilled teriyaki chicken and thinly sliced beef on a bed of white rice. It comes with a side of salad with some white dressing on it, kind of tasted like mayo. They give you a small container of hot sauce and white sauce upon request. Teriyaki sauce is self serve on the right side of the restaurant. The beef and chicken was okay, really nothing special.

The dining place is a bit small and it gets full easily during the lunch hour rush. If you are a bit on the claustrophobic side or just afraid of Covid, get your orders to-go.Food is nothing exceptional. It is just average. The fried gyoza is a bit dry for me. The crunchy rolls rice isnt that rolled well into the sushi. The tempura Cali roll is a bit good.There is another Japanese resto across the street that is better.Oh, they serve breakfast here.

It is a nice teriyaki restaurant, located across the train tracks from Cal Poly Pomona. The meals, that I would order at this establishment, were delicious. Furthermore, there was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy the meal. The staff were helpful. Prices, too, were fair, and not on the expensive side. They know exactly what is their target market. Definitely, if anyone is in the area, I would recommend to stop by this restaurant!

Nice quick serve restaurant. They blended a Japanese feel with college environment mentality. I tried the chicken bowl and it was good. Looks like they use sushi rice.Theres a sauce called white sauce? It taste like the Japanese mayo Cupie and they appear to create new sauces for their food every once in a while. They served the food like a sit down restaurant and they are very friendly.

Ordered 50 bento boxes for a catered event and every guest was very happy with how delicious the food was and the size of the portions. We highly recommend Jinza Teriyaki for events and will absolutely book again if we’re in the area.The food arrived right on time and John was so helpful and really kind. Everything was packaged really efficiently and it just made the whole set up easy to navigate. We also really appreciated that he was prompt with itemized bills and communication over email and phone. Top tier service and food, definitely book them for your catered events!

I really wanted to like this place. The owners seem nice and they give back to the community. But honestly my food was terrible. Like really bad. The udon noodles were not real udon noodles. It was like cheap ramen noodles. The sushi rice was like mochi but without sugar. The rice wasn’t even rice form. It was just a clump of rice mush. And the tuna was well cheap to say the least. I’m sure the teriyaki is good.

Great food. Get the spicy (+30 cents) on beef or chicken. Can substitute for Brown rice. Friendly staff. Off lunch times are best time to show up otherwise expect some long lines during university school year.

As a Seattle boy, I am very picky about Teriyaki, but Jinza definitely gets my stamp of approval!Came last month during the heat wave and we were craving some good takeout before heading back to the room to cool down from the heat! Our car temperature registered at 117*F. It was insane.Back to the restaurant, Jinza is very close to Cal Poly Pomona, so it was packed with students at lunch time. The restaurant exterior is unassuming and hackneyed, but we were immediately greeted with that heavenly Teriyaki smell from outside, and even more amplified once walking through the door, so that made us ignore the exterior. Reminded me of those unassuming strip mall, rainy late night Teriyaki runs back in Washington. Jinza was very cozy inside, with a small seating area to the right and ordering counter to the left. Spartan decor, and a bit worn, but endearing. Chefs were grilling in the back, and the see-through kitchen added encouragement of quality. Quaint ambiance.Takeout was quick and service was kind.The Food:* Chicken Teriyaki:It was easy to tell Thigh meat was used as the texture was soft, supple, and tender. The teriyaki was sweet and juicy, with a small amount of char, adding to crunch without being overwhelmingly burnt. The rice was cooked well, and molded well with the richness of the meat. Overall, very good, but of course, sorry LA, Seattle is the place to go for Teriyaki in the US ;). Excellent prices, at around $5.65. For LA and the price, it was refreshing and definitely worth it. (4/5)* Gyoza:Not sure why I ordered this, but was a little extra hungry. The texture is excessively crunchy, hard, and lifeless. Gyoza is traditionally very thin skinned, but this was like biting into a Fried Spring Roll (ugh). Definitely seemed frozen, as it didnt have that nice pan-fried texture, and soft edges that normally accompany it. Anyways over-analyzing here, just pass on it yall (1/5)Overall cute place! Great Teriyaki in the Pomona area and suitable for those on a budget. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back when back in the area and try that much talked about white magic sauce with it.

If you live in Pomona and are familiar with Jinza Bowl, Jinza Bowl is better than this place in my opinion. I ordered a combo bowl chicken and pork, portion was good but it just wasnt the best. I also ordered the tempura spicy tuna roll, it was dry no sauces on it. Honestly its whatever. The people in the front are young kids blasting rap in the place and I didnt want to stay and eat there.

The Coworker an I were craving asain cuisine and came upon this restaurant via a quick search. The food was prepared with the upmost care and the owner was exceptionally accommodating. We were given a free side of fried dumplings that were on point👌😋. I ordered the pork rice and mixed vegetables bowl with a side of spam musubi. Im not from the area and happened to be working there and let me say this, I will be back! The food was delicious and prepared promptly. Give this place a try, its honestly really good! The owner has great energy and is passionate about his business and it definitely reflects.

My review is a little bit dated, I have been here several times, but it was in 2015.So here it goes - the location is conveniently located near Cal Poly campus. The food was cooked decently and fast. The service was courteous, and the place was clean. The prices were set fairly, and it was not expensive. The only drawback that it closes around 6 PM. Still, if you want to eat sushi, I would recommend this place!

The food was horrible, it looked as though the chicken had been sitting some were for weeks overcooked, it was hard enough to kill a cow. I was surprise the food has always been good. I did notice the old staff wasnt present, if they are under new management they wont last long if changes arent made. For several years corrupt cops have influence business owners in the city I hope that hasnt happened here.

This place has delicious food. I ordered the beef teriyaki bowl and a chicken teriyaki plate. As a side, I got spam masubi. It was a really filling and healthy meal. I would recommend getting all the sauces, red chili, white sauce and teriyaki sauce. They were all delicious. The staff is very nice and willing to answer questions.

Their service is pretty good and they try to make some connection to their customers by asking how youre doing every time they see you in there. I highly suggest getting the white sauce with whatever teriyaki bowl or plate you decide on getting. I dont know what they put in it, but I cant get enough of it. Ive been craving it almost weekly just because I really enjoy that white sauce though.

Excellent and economical restaurant.We come here sometimes to have a quick meal with colleagues. The place is small but tidy. It has dine in and take out, and local orders. It has rice with different meats, beef, chicken. I like the combo of beef and chicken. It also offers free food, in that after 10 meals, one can get one free.

Low quality food in general the meat is slightly burned and the sauce tasted cheap and weird. Anyways for $6 as a quick meal it is ideal for collage students. I would probably not go there again, but if you like rice with some cheap meat than this is the place for you.

Students from Cal Poly Pomona (California State Polytechnic University, Pomona) generally come here to eat. It’s a small place. We ordered Chicken and Beef Combo, and Chicken Teriyaki (with Egg and Avocado). The food was so good!!! The service was friendly and quick. The price was reasonable. Hopefully, we will come here again.

It is a great Japanese restaurant. It is located near Valley Boulevard, right across the train tracks, and on the right of the strip mall. I have been here several times, however, it was four years ago. Still, I remember that meals were delicious. We used to be regulars! We loved the extra spicy chicken bowl. But... recently it is no longer spicy and they charge more for it! This has been a growing trend. They no longer offer free jasmine tea and charge $2 dollars if you ask for veggies vs. rice $2! We have to say that we are breaking up with Jinza, sorry Jinza.

I know there are ppl who like this place but I think its giving a wrong impression on teriyaki chicken to people who go here. I think the meat is too dry and always burnt. This place is literally one of the best teriyaki you can have I am very fortunate to have been a student at Cal Poly Pomona which happens to be extremely close to this restaurant for this reason when I went to this restaurant I thought I was going to have regular teriyaki like any other teriyaki place but this place by far gives great quality food extremely healthy and has an amazing customer service with a beautiful environment that delivers an amazing taste and experience. I have been very fortunate to have met the manager there since he is very courteous and welcoming and always checks on everyone within the restaurant but he does that with everyone as there is many different types of people in the restaurant from mayors of local cities other politicians fire Department police officers students family members this place is a place where everyone goes to because they know this is the best teriyaki to have. I personally like to take friends that are visiting or that have never gone to this place and watch them be impressed with the service and the quality of food and how they like to spread the word to others of how amazing jinza Teriyaki is
