Cute Japanese bakery/cafe in the San Carlos, Belmont area. The space is cozy and intimate inside, with roughly 10 seats. Lots of Japanese bread and hot food items at great prices - we tried their yakisoba bun and it was delicious. Also tried their Japanese purin (pudding) and tasted very authentic as well. Definitely recommend swinging by to try their food for lunch or a snack! Reminds us of cafes back in Japan.

What a quaint Japanese bakery and cafe with a very homey feel! The pastries are freshly baked daily and includes many Japanese favorites like ham and swiss bread, anpan (bun with sweet red bean filling), melon pan (round sweet bun topped by a crispy sugar cookie coating) and curry pan (fried bread with curry inside) as well as Japanese style bread. They have desserts such as custard pudding, coffee jello (yum!), and maritozo... etc (specials daily). They also serve savory Japanese entrees such as tonkatsu sando (sandwich), yakisoba sando, beef curry don and gyu don (beef rice bowl) as well as different types of onigiri (rice ball 🍙 )... and even spam musubi, (how did Hawaiian get in the mix? :P ). Beverages includes various coffee, teas, lattes and sodas. My favorites here so far include black pepper bacon cheese bread, cold udon bowl, and apple pan. I wonder if om-rice will ever get on the menu here! The store is on soft opening (sign still says Ikes Sandwiches) with limited hours (check first). But if youre in the neighborhood and want to try something delicious and beyond just seeing them in Japanese animes, this is the place for you! Yummy nomnoms with super friendly service not to be missed!

This is the cutest little spot and has delicious treats! The Anya drawing on the front drew me into the store where I met the two sweetest women who were very happy to help me and tell me what everything was! I ordered this custard bread and they gave me an amazing fruit macaron on the house! The macaron was both light and sweet, and the custard bread was the best I ever had!! It wasnt too sweet, and the custard was nice and thick inside soft bread. I will definitely stop by here again and recommend everyone try this at least once!

Its so great to have a small Japanese (legit) local spot! Its like being in a small neighborhood in Japan! That said, the food and drinks could use a little work IMO.- Katsu Sando needs better quality meet, some hot mustard, and a savory tonkatsu sauce instead of the sweet one.- Matcha & Mocha were okay, but could be better (reference Coupa Cafe for Mocha & Uncle Tetsu or Mint & Honey for Matcha).- Spam Masubi is good.- Got pastries but still need to try them (will update)Still,I love this place and hope they do very well! Yata!Oh, and it was nice to have a few chairs and table outside 😊

Sooo good! I got the beef curry and my gosh it was good best curry I’ve ever had, let alone one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in general!, the beef was soft and tender and cooked to perfection, The sauce was so delicious, And had a really delicious mild kick, the carrots were also really tender and soft They were juicy and melted in my mouth, even the rice was cooked really well, and did not clump together! I’ll definitely be coming back🤤 The people who work there were really nice and sweet, and the customer service was great! The curry made me feel at home and cozy café has beautiful pink wallpaper and lots of cat theme stuff with a homie and kawaii atmosphere! 10/10 please come here🙂

I picked up dinner for the family today, the Gyudon was tasty and sweet, and the Tonkatsu Sando was oiishii! And then the Pear Cake was perfect finish, cannot wait to try other menu items and will be back soon for the best Japanese comfort food in the Peninsula, Matta Raishu🍲🍚🍙

Small but mighty local bakery with high quality products! Loved their beef curry bun, custard pudding and challah bread in particular! Also a great selection of sweet and savory pastries with delightful fillings - we tried the coffee and chocolate ones. Glad we discovered a local gem- will be a regular go-to for us

Price is VERY high for what is served. Onigiri for $5?! Melon Bread / Anpan for ~$4.50/each? Getting to this place was painful. Finding parking was painful and food was underwhelming. The food was decent and the staff was friendly, but I think you should save your money for a trip to Japan one day.

My favourite new breakfast place in Belmont, period. Wonderful small Japanese place with home-like atmosphere.
