Fresh and well made!Good flavors and a tight menu make this place attractive and homely..The service is very professional and warm.The atmosphere is very relaxed, quiet and bright.The location is a bit sketchy and parking is typical San Francisco challenging, but I think it’s worth the trip.I think vegetarians will love the options available that can be shared among all kinds of dietary preferences.

Probably one of my favorite places to get raw marinated crabs here in the City. I do think there needs to be a better balance between the spiciness and the flavors of crab meat, but it was still good, messy experience haha. Definitely recommend their wings as well!I dont think there are many Chinese Korean restaurants in the area. Havent really taken a look for them - JJamPPong is a solid option for sure though!

Love their Spicy raw crab! The paste was so tasty, crab very fresh and really refresh me. Service was great. Jajangmein had a mild flavor for me. Honey walnut shrimp was great but Im not a fan of sweets, so I will try the garlic one next time.

Come all the way from Seattle for the spicy raw crab! Phenomenal food with giant servings. We got the Korean spicy raw marinated crab ($31) and combo fried rice ($14). The marinade was just the right balance of spicy and sweet, and the crab meat was succulent, fresh and creamy. The fried rice was massive and can feed 2 people or 1 very hungry person—they didn’t skimp on the eggs or meat either. Super fast service—our food came out in 5 minutes. 10/10 would go out of my way to come back here

Easy 5 stars from me. I’ve never had spicy raw crab like this in the Bay Area, and it tastes as legit as the ones I’ve had in Korea. There were probably 3 large crabs (6 halves) in our portion, which I think is very good for the price, and they were so meaty. The sauce was excellent. Not too spicy or too sweet, and let the crab shine. The marinated crab has some other veg and sits on a bed of lettuce. I love how they serve it with rice and gim too, and they provide plastic gloves for your hands.We also ordered seafood jampong which has crab in it as well. The noodles were chewy and the broth had a wonderful seafood flavor. It was a huge portion.We were considering ordering a third dish, but we’re glad we didn’t. We’ll definitely have to come back! For 2 people, we ordered the jampong and the crab and we were stuffed and had to take some of the crab home.

Three of us had a good dinner here. Street parking is hard to find we ended up four blocks away. The menu seems split between Korean and Chinese. The food came out fast the price was fair and quality fine. For a casual dinner this was good. Interior is a little on the generic side.

My Korean friends and I were shocked at how there’s authentic & delicious marinated raw crab in SF 😭😭 it was IMMACULATE. So well seasoned, fresh, and the crabs had so much meat! We also ordered fried rice, sweet & sour pork, and fried chicken wings - all which were delightful. The manager is the sweetest Korean lady and the staff are so friendly. Will definitely be coming back & bringing more friends/family!!

The crab is absolutely delicious and it comes with all the fixings even with delivery. We also got the black bean sauce noodles and the twice cooked pork. I would say for delivery, stay away from the fried stuff as it gets soggy and chewy by the time you get it. But the crab came out amazingly, the sauce is great though a bit too spicy after eating so much of it but it’s addictive!

Updated review: Weve been to JJamPPong a few times since my initial review. The food is now more refined. I noticed they no longer have the lunch time specials. Since the restaurants name is JJamPPong, I wanted to try their jjamppoong (spicy seafood noodles) $18. We usually get their fried chicken dishes and the black bean sauce noodles. Those are hella good. For the jjamppong, the chef put the right amount of spices where it wasnt too hot. I was able to appreciate the seafood, noodles and vegetables in the soup. After eating this, my mouth didnt have a spicy aftertaste. That was a surprise. For the appetizer, I got their pot stickers $10. These didnt look like the ones I saw on other Yelpers photos. They served it with soy sauce on the side. I would have preferred pot sticker sauce (vinegar, ginger, garlic, sugar, sesame oil.) Soy sauce is too salty for this dish. Otherwise, this was a good lunch.Original review: Todays lunch included shrimp crispy pan-fried Hong Kong style noodles $17 and double fried garlic sauce chicken wings $15. The crispy noodles were delicious and I can recommend this. It tasted like the ones I used to get at the big banquet restaurants in Hong Kongs Kowloon district. Each bite was more captivating than the last. The weird thing was, theres no fancy ingredients other than bok choy, bits of carrots, minced garlic, gravy and shrimp. The secret was the right amount of gravy. Not too much making this dish crispy to the last bite. The garlic sauce chicken wings were only so-so. When the menu states double fried, I was expecting Bonchon crispiness. It lacked that crunch that Im used to for Korean fried chicken. They need to add more garlic or spices to give this some punch. Their kitchen was fast. I was able to get back to work within an hour for lunch. Service was excellent. By the way, they dont serve a lot of complementary banchan here. You know, the little Korean kimchi dishes that come with an entree. I only got a tiny yellow daikon dish. I would have preferred the spread. O! Bean sprouts with sesame oil or spinach with garlic and soy sauce would have been nice.

I really enjoyed the combination fried rice which was quite eggy and full of many things. The eponymous jjamppong is quite spicy and tasty (almost too tasty—on the salty side). Nice if you can handle it.

Finally found the chance to come and try their raw marinated crab!! Ive been here once before they added the crab to their menu and thought the food was good. But I wanted to give a proper review once I saw everyone raving about the raw crab. I came in on a friday night at 8pm and inside was pretty crowded. I was worried they werent going to seat me since they close at 830 but I was seated right away and given hot tea. I ordered the raw crab and seafood jjamppong. The crab came out very quickly and came with a big bowl of rice and a pack of seaweed. They also gave a box of gloves. They also gave us kimchi and pickled radishes. The jjamppong came soon after. The crab was so good!! Not many places serve it in sf and it really did live up to the hype. Putting a lil wrap together with the seaweed and rice made the experience so good. The gloves came in super handy and you definitely need a whole box at your table lol. The seafood jjamppong was also great. It also came with a crab!! And lots of other seafood too like mussels, clams, shrimp. The two dishes were the perfect amount of food for 2 of us. I cant wait to come and eat here again.

Everyone was so sweet, attentive and accommodating! We were served tea to start and some small sides! The main dishes were delicious! Complete forgot what the left pic dish was but the seafood noodle soup one was so yummy!We have been meaning to try this place out for so long and glad we did! It’s got good quality and quantity. The best raw marinated crab - it was spicy yet sweet and the meat was very juicy. Each serving comes with seaweed and rice, along with gloves to keep your hands clean. The Jjamppong and deluxe veggies were also amazing. Serving sizes are very big so our group had a lot of leftovers after our meal. We left extremely satisfied.Bonus points for the amazing service! The staff was very generous with the daikon and kimchi side dish refills (which were on the house).

Recently came here for a friends birthday. There were a few things that I wanted to try and luckily they were all under the specialties.The things I would definitely recommend would be the seafood jjamppong, the spicy raw crab, and the fried chicken wings. The jjamppong is nicely spicy with tons of seafood and you also get noodles. The raw crab is definitely something great to try if youve never had it before. It did sell out that night we were there, so if they do have it, i would definitely recommend ordering it. The fried chicken was probably my favorite thing I had that night. So flavorful and fried so well!With the spicy crab we also got rice and seaweed. We are recommended by one of the staff to put the crab sauce on top of the rice and eat it that way. Definitely a pro tip cuz it was very delicious!We also got the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and jajang mein. I wasnt the biggest fan of either but they werent bad.Overall a great experience with good food. Staff is friendly and very helpful. There is only street parking but you will most likely find a space pretty easily since there is residential around as well.

Korean style Chinese food or Chinese style Korean food or is it a San Tung derivative who knows but I know the food is fire flames. Complimentary danmuji and kimchi, black bean sauce clams came with a huge portion of clams and should not be compared to a Cantonese style black bean sauce clams (less salty and a bit more subtle in a good way), deep fried string beans were deep fried and definitely a tasty string bean, tangsuyuk were fried well and good cuts of pork (get it with the sweet and sour on the sauce on the side for an ignominious amount of life to the crunch), double fried chicken wings with garlic sauce were good with large pieces (if you were to compare it with San tung, does not hold its crisp as well, not as sticky, not as much zing), seafood jjamppong had a lot of seafood and noodles and wasn’t overtly spicy that it would ruin the rest of the dishes. My friends took me here and it was good! The parking definitely sucks, so be prepared to look for a good minute. May have to park on the hills, so it can be a blessing in disguise if you eat a lot in this spot and you hike up to your car after. :)We ordered the spicy raw marinated crab, jajjangmyeon, garlic shrimp, and chicken wings.The wings were okay but every table had wings, so you know its good. Second time having raw crabs and this was amazingly seasoned. Last time I had it it was soy sauce marinated but this was kimchi/gochujang and it was amazing. Every dish from the tangsooyook to the jjajjangmyeon was worth the trip and so delicious. The seafood was also really good. Chicken wings were 🥰🥰🥰

Heard about this place from several Bay Area Instagram food influencers. We got the raw crab, jajiangmian, and jjamppong. Everything was really good and I want to go back and try the fried chicken and tangsuyuk. Anyone who thinks sf doesn’t have good Korean food needs to come here. Solid spot and will go again.

A lovely mom and pop shop. The owner makes the marinated crab fresh every morning. She makes the kimchi fresh every morning too, which shows because it is garlicky, crunchy, refreshing, delicious. Loved the jjamppong and jajangmyeon too. Having lived in the part of Korea where they make this kind of crab, I had to come by and try it out of nostalgia! And it was an absolute pleasure. What a great addition to the neighborhood.

Even better service.I know their best dish is mostly seafood based, and Im allergic to seafood, but they still have a ton of things you can order here that you can enjoy that is not seafood.Their Crispy Garlic Beef is to die for, especially if paired with their really good fried rice. On its own, the double fried chicken wings is wonderful, add garlic sauce to it and it takes it to a whole different level. Ive lived in South Korea for a year and had my fair share of kfood in LA ktown and this is where Id take my friends.Jjampong, jajangmyeon, and the spicy raw crab. The food was substantial and I was impressed with their signature spicy raw crab. Spicy indeed dressed with pickled veggies. It has the hot Cheetos effect where the more you eat, the spicier it gets...I ate more than my tummy could handle cuz its better to just finish the crab at the table than bring it home.Jajangmyeon was delicious, textures and sauce consistency was on point. Same with the jjampong (spicy beware).Next time, I wanna try their fried chicken and tangsuyuk and one spicy dish. We overdid it with 2 spice dishes 🥵. I got ice cream elsewhere afterwards to cool down my mouth. It was worth it!

Best jjamppong we’ve had in the Bay Area. Soup had deep flavor, generous amount of meat, seafood, and veggies. The owner and waitstaff are exceptionally nice and helpful. A mark of a good restaurant is even the “boring” dishes are well done and our order of veggie deluxe had nice assortment of bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms, and other leafy greens carefully stir fried with garlic sauce. Food is so good and authentic. Just go get all their specialities and you will know how good it is. Service was amazing. Attentive and communicative service. Owner and her husband were extremely kind and warm people, with an amazing team behind them who were also genuinely nice as well. We ordered the raw crab, garlic fried chicken, and the jajang mein. The crab came with a bowl of hot white rice and a pack of roasted seaweed. Everything was delicious, but the reason we went was to try the raw marinated crab for the first time - and it was the star of the show. It tasted very fresh, sweet, and refreshing. The marinade was very tasty and not too spicy. Everything was reasonably priced and came in fairly large portions while also being high quality. We are visiting from Canada and would definitely try to come back again.

I liked the taste of the food. I thought the prices were reasonable given the portion sizing. The service was also quick. The only major issue was that my roommate and I are pretty sure the food gave us the runs the next morning. Its clean and delicious! Jajangmyeon jjambbong is also delicious, but stir-fried clams are a delicacy! Overall, the seafood is fresh and there is no fishy smell. I recommend!

I stopped by on a trip and they were friendly and the food was delicious, but the noodles were a bit thick like udon noodles, there wasnt much fried sweet and sour pork, and the cabbage kimchi didnt taste that good. However, the sweet and sour pork and black bean sauce was delicious, and the jjamppong was especially spicy and refreshing, perhaps because there was a lot of seafood in it!

I came back after reading the review after traveling, and I really enjoyed the Jajangmyeon. Also, the cabbage kimchi was unique and delicious. The wife kindly welcomed me as a latecomer, and even gave me a brownie after paying. I hope you have great success. ^^

Theyre friendly, the food comes out quickly, and they dont charge money for additional meals. I am eating very well. Its good value for money. If you focus on cooking rather than Jjamppong and Jjajang, you will be satisfied. Anyway, I recommend it.
