The restaurant environment is clean and comfortable. Very oriental. Most importantly, the dishes produced in the restaurant are all very tasty. If you want to eat Chinese food. Joy house is definitely recommended. Pork with salted vegetable（梅菜扣肉），Claret its color, shape oval, meat rotten glue, fat but not greasy, thin rather than firewood, mellow taste from others.

For Mothers Day dinner, we went to a Chinese restaurant in Rocklin that was pretty cute. We shared everything between the three of us but we had ordered Sweet & Sour chicken, chicken chow mein, and 8pc potstickers. Apparently this restaurant gives you free wonton chips for your table which I have never seen done before but was a huge plus in my book. It was accompanied with a sweet sauce. The food was really good and definitely filling enough for 3 people to split 2 dishes and an appetizer. The server was extremely nice and towards the end of our meal, an employee came out and gave us carnations for Mothers Day. If you are in the Rocklin area, I highly recommend giving Joy House a try.

Had a great meal at Joy House. Everything was really good, I ordered the Tangerine Chicken and it was amazing. The prices were reasonable and although the portions looked small when they first came out they were more than enough. The flavors were authentic and the ingredients seemed fresh as though they were shopped local. I will definitely return and check out other items on the menu.

Great taste, comfort environment, fantastic service. Very decent America Chinese food mix a bit authentic Chinese food. Fried rice is so good my 4 year old had two plates!! Scallop and fish dish is fully loaded with high quality giant scallop!! I will be back

If youre in this area, or you want some good take out food, you could check this place out. Wasnt super crowded on a weekend night. Got the sense that the single waitress was doing double duty, with nonstop line of people taking out food.Pretty basic menu with all the popular dishes. Tried a few different ones and they were all ok.

I tried this restaurant for the first time as a pick-up order Saturday night. All of the positive reviews encouraged me to give them a try. I placed my order through their online portal at 7 pm. They told me it would be 40 minutes until my food would be ready. I was shocked. I have never had to wait 40 minutes for Chinese food. I assumed they must be really busy. I got to the restaurant at 7:35. There was only 1 table occupied. My food was ready at 7:45, but I was told they had made me sweet and sour pork instead of chicken. They asked if I would be okay taking that or if I wanted to wait for them to remake the dish. I waited. I didnt want pork. I finally left the restaurant at 8 pm - 1 hour for take-out Chinese food. It got home, and we dug in. The dishes were not very appetizing and didnt meet my expectations based on the menu. I fried rice was mushy and uneven in the little seasoning that was present. There was almost no meat in the sweet and sour chicken. For the cashew chicken, the variety of vegetables really wasnt there - it was filled with celery and seasoned with jalapeño. I wont be going back here.

We ordered takeout from this restaurant tonight and we’re so happy we found an authentic Chinese restaurant in Rocklin! The black pepper beef, Szechuan eggplant and jelly noodles were legit and tasty. We look forward to coming here again!

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place out, but they are closed on Sundays. We managed to dine here just last Saturday though and we were so pleased Miranda sat us promptly. The interior decor was nice and modern and the restaurant is clean. No sticky floors and tables, and the place is well lit with natural lighting. We liked the hot and sour soup that was offered to us while we waited for our order of Mongolian Beef and Braised Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The Mongolian Beef reminded me of the one in the PF Changs menu. I like that preparation -- not spicy, lots of green onions, and no starchy sauce -- delicious! The braised eggplants were just lovely. Thank you Chefs David and Amie, and Miranda for the dining experience.To those who havent tried it, come on over and check it out! Joy House is a treasure.

As sad as it is, when I see an American flag flying on a hoies, a truck, aboat or inside a restaurant, I believe the people and or business behind it are right wing extremist that support a former President who tried to overthrow the Constitution and a fair election. I wont be back. However, my server was Angela. She was a doll. Liked her very much. I ordered the Shrimp sizzlng rice but substituted rhe shrimp for chicken. It was delicious. Just wish the restaurant was not right wing.

This place is probably one of the best if not the best Chinese food in the area. The food was exceptional, obviously very fresh, and the service was awesome. On top of all that the price was surprisingly cheap. Definitely a place to try.

This restaurant got all this positive review as me and my co worker manager try out during lunch hour.. only one table was occupy we sat for over 30 minutes and we finally got a sampling soup. The other concern was also the cook came out yelling at the casher/ waitress as she was having customer infrastructure of her.. I am forsure will be my last time eating here ever again.Also, no one deserve to cuss at infront of customers.. This is USA not China.

Beautiful decor. Smells good inside. Great choices and different options than usual. Food we got was well prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lots of chili pods we werent expecting...ASK ABOUT SPICE LEVELS. We could handle it, but our guests had a hard time.

Stopped by with a group of six for a late lunch. The restaurant is plain but clean and the service was really quite good. Food portions were generous but we all thought the food was a bit bland. I had a serving of fish that was so bland it was almost tasteless. What saved the meal was a rather tasty fried rice. With all of the options for Chinese food in the area we probably wouldnt go back.

I ordered food to go during a very slow part of the day. When I walked in I was the only customer. The staff was incredible. The name Joy House is VERY well chosen. It felt very warm, Like a good family restaurant.The food. I ordered Beef Chow Fun. And oh my gosh. Its the best chow fun I have ever had. Delicious and fresh. Price was steep as it was 16 dollars. Still well worth it.

I grew up in China and spent 20 years in San Gabriel valley where the best Chinese restaurants are.. I would have to say that Joy House is the BEST Chinese restaurant in the Sacramento area (not one of the..). I love their lamb. I didn’t even know it’s possible to cook meat this tender. The lamb doesn’t have a hint of the “gaminess.” One extra thing to note is that each dish is plated beautifully. Something that is not common in Chinese restaurants.

I have ordered take out from here several times despite not being a fan of the prices, however last night was a complete miss. I ordered my usual sweet and sour pork and BBQ pork fried rice. The sweet and sour pork was okay, but the BBQ pork fried rice… Yikes! Did I really just paid $15/$16 for just rice, peas, perhaps 1 egg, and less than a palm full of BBQ pork? I was really hoping that Rocklin/Roseville will finally get a decent “Chinese” restaurant and I wouldn’t have to go to Ming’s Dynasty down in Sacramento again… but I was wrong. Last night was the last time I will be ordering at Joy House.

Do. Not. Waste. Your. Time. Or. Money.The three key ingredients to cooking Americanized Chinese are: (a) white pepper, (b) soy sauce, and (c) chinese 5 spice. The food here had none of that. And, no natural ingredient flavor.In addition to the shrimp fried rice (wrong shrimp being used, its pre-cooked and flavorless) as well as the brocoli beef. Additionally, I ordered tangerine chicken. It was like no other tangerine chicken I have ever seen before. And, it tasted worse. I told the waitress it was not good even with my suggested modifications and didnt touch it again. A better restaurant would have comped it. They did not.The key to success (in a recession) is the playing long game. Treat the customer well.This restaurant does not know how to do that. So, for the $17.99, they have lost a potential long term customer.I tipped and took home what I knew I could add the three ingredients above to so that my fiance would eat it and left. Never to return.

The food here is more authentic Chinese food compared to most Chinese restaurants around the area. Several dishes are excellent and some were just ok. I highly recommend Mapo Tofu and Hunan Family Style Tofu. They are my favorites here. The won ton soup is good but be aware it is sized for about 3 to 4 people.The wait staff here is very friendly. The dining area is inviting and clean. Can get crowded and food coming out can be a little slow during meal times because the food is good. Pretty fast at off times if you are in a hurry.

We are looking for something to eat for lunch from an event and not really familiar in the area. So we drove around area of Roseville and we ended up in Rocklin. Sometimes its a hit or miss when going to chinese restaurants specially if your new to the area. While driving, we saw a sign on the street saying. JOY HOUSE grand opening.The place is warm and cozy its not big but small enough to relax and enjoy your food. We both order their lunch specials we ordered sweet and sour pork plus chowmein. There no long time of waiting for your food to serve which is perfect . The service is good. By far their sweet and sour pork is the best sweet and sour pork i ever tasted, pork is tender you cant taste or smell that it is frozen and just reheated it .the taste is sweet and litle tangy, the chowmein is good not really greasy the salad is that goes with our meal is excellent the salad it self is already a meal for me if im not really hungry im not really a fan of their sour soup though, im not sure what ingridents they use in that sour soup is like bland taste doesnt have any taste but soury taste. I would give 5 star for joy house restaurant for the food, service and cozinnes of the place.highly recommended!

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Rocklin. This restaurant is not big (probably sits 30-40 people) and gives a family restaurant feel. What I like the most is its crispy cleanness! The inside decor is contemporary with a touch from the East. The cold noodle, General Tzo’s Chicken, Walnut Shrimp are my favorite. You will find the food not too salty or greasy, but full of flavors. Dine in and enjoy great food in this place!

Nice Decor and the service was great but the food was not so great we had Generals chicken which had zero flavor and Szechuan-Style Fish Fillet which was way over breaded and again very little flavor.Hot and Sour soup as well was not very good was very fishy tasting and some other flavor I could not figure out.We only ate about half the meal and didnt take home the leftovers as we would have not eaten them.

Omg, this place has the most terrible food . If I could of gave 0 stars I would of. Nothing was good the cream corn soup awful and then how u mess up on eggplant? And the egg rolls was full of grease it was a mess. The waitress was nice but the food was so bad I just was shocked that this place has 4.3 stars? I recommend u go to Panda Express or the gas station on Martin Luther king and the 99 freeway. Do not eat here I am vegan and I have never went to a place and had such a awful experience with plants?

The only reason Im giving it 3 stars is because the food was at least hot and made with fresh food ingredients. Pricing is far too high for what this is and honestly most dishes lacked in the flavor department. Birthday dinner. Recommended by a mutual friend of the owner. Ordered three items and told 20 minutes. Waited for an hour and 20 minutes with constant promises of coming right out and apologies. I finally complained and asked them if I should give up and leave. They said yes! And again… I’m sorry!!!! I’ve never had that type of experience in a restaurant in my life!
