This has to be one of the most friendly and welcoming breakfast spots we love going to in Martinez. The servers are super nice accommodating and check up on you enough to make every visit feel special. The food is served fast and alway good. During this visiting I had the ribeye steak and eggs, hash, browns biscuit and gravy and a pecan waffle. A biscuit was a little hard and the waffle could’ve been a little sweeter but overall everything was really good. I was more than pleased and ate everything I could until I couldn’t eat anymore. Our server was 5 ⭐️ friendly. We will be back soon. Great little quiet place for breakfast you should try it.

I recently visited JP Bistro in Martinez and opted for the Prime Rib Skillet for breakfast. The prompt seating and friendly service set a welcoming tone for my morning. While the prime rib wasnt the absolute best Ive ever had, the portion size was generous, making it a satisfying start to the day

A hidden gem. The food was delicious, we got the Zucchini spirl deep fried with a side of Ranch. Huevos Rancheros & Ribeye Steak sandwich, ice tea & soda for $40Service was quick and friendly we will return. It was very busy but got a table quickly.

I had the Classic Club sandwich. Everything about it was perfect - bread lightly toasted, turkey moist, and the bacon was really flavorful. The lettuce was crunchy, and the tomato was just right. And the staff is attentive but not intrusive. They made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. Oh! I also want to mention how clean everything is. We really felt very comfortable there.

We had such an amazing lunch today at JP’s today for a nice Easter meal.You are truly treated like royalty there. Not only was the service above and beyond but we got quite a few giggles too. The owner Maeg is full of laughs and snappy comebacks we laughed so much. She also very sweetly cut up my Dads prime rib. We all had the prime rib with eggs and potatoes. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! I usually add salt and dip my prime rib in ranch dressing NOT THIS TIME. We also had appetizers of a spiraled Breaded zucchini . I cannot believe how good that was.I love to go to a restaurant with delicious food, fresh made, and fantastic service. You can tell that they care about their customers and that you’re their first priorityThank you so much for giving us a nice Easter lunch.

It was my first time there. I got there about 10 minutes early. I had reserved a table and they had it ready for me when I got there. My party was running late, but they still sat me down and offered me something to drink.My party eventually showed up and the wait staff was very attentive. Always checking up on us, etcThe food came quickly and it was really good.I was definitely impressed.Cant wait to come back and try one of their other platters.I definitely recommend it.

Pros: This no frills diner has great service & friendly staff! Loved the pancakes & waffles, coffee was hot & never empty. Scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. Good orange juice. Lots of options from omelette, eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast, sandwiches etc. very reasonably priced for the area & portion sizes were large but not too large.Cons: eggs were undercooked (asked for over medium, and they were very runny undercooked). bacon was cooked unevenly barely cooked in places and very crispy in others. Ambience is very basic, no outdoor seating.Will definitely be back to give it another try!

Very good food. Had the JP Bistro Eggs Benedict (Chorizo, Pico de Gallo, Hollandaise Sauce, and that nicely poached egg, all atop a english muffin) with a side of hashbronws. Very good and distinct flavors. Service kind, timely, and efficient. The atmosphere of the place is pretty nice. No complaints here. Definitely will return for another bite.

So disappointed... I had read rave reviews for JPs in a FB food group Im part of so I went with high expectations.My friend and I went for lunch. We shared an order of the Twisted Potatoes, which were described as like chips on a skewer. The twist was there, but they were not crisp, were greasy and had no seasoning. Not even a side of ranch dressing helped.My friend has a BLT with fries and I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich witj onion rings. Both of our orders came with fries. Our waitress had to put in a second order for my onion rings, so while I was waiting I tried a fry. Just as with the twisted potatoes, the fries were not crisp, were greasy and had no seasoning at all.My chicken sandwich was made up of two chicken tenders vs a nice single piece of chicken. They were on the dry side and again no seasoning, and my bun was soggy. When the onions rings arrived, they were also greasy and unseasoned.My guess, the fry oil was just not heated properly which is why everything was greasy, but the lack of seasoning??The staff was friendly and they did take the twisted potatoes off our ticket and offered other things on the menu to replace my meal, but honestly I was not too hopeful anything would be better so I did not try anything else.There are too many other good options in the area, so I wont be back.

August 2023 Update for breakfast: Went again for breakfast and I would NOT recommend the Denver Omelette. The ham was largely inedible and low quality, and the omelette had WAY too much cheese. I would say choose the hash browns over the country potatoes too. My son enjoyed his eggs Benedict, so maybe go with that instead. Also, the toast has some non melting fake butter spread on it. Wish they had better quality ingredients.June 2023-I went here for lunch with my son. You could choose breakfast or lunch menu. We went with burgers and they were both good, just very hard to eat. I had the western burger and it didnt list that it had mayo, but I dont like mayo on burgers and it was part of why the bottom bun was so soggy and hard to eat. Now I know to say no mayo, but the menu should say it too. Onion rings were awesome and no upcharge for them like at other places. Service was great, price reasonable. Ill be back.

Came in on fathersday while they were busy the wait wasnt that long. Kept it efficient, nice family atmosphere food came out quick and fast and was delicious. Great for breakfast fare. Appreciate the Mexican options. (their chorizo is GOOD) crab omelette had great flavor. Foods good and I would like to try em again. I saw someone order the Chicken Fried Steak thats next on the try list.I recommend giving them a shot if you havent already,

Hmm, let me think, as soon as I walked in, I was hit in the face with the best smell ever when youre hungry for breakfast. What was it? Coffee and breakfast. It was really a good sent of coffee! It hooked me, so i went in, and if the smell was any indication of the food, then👍👍👍. But you and I are different people, and our senses could be different, so I think you should give it a try. Everyone was very pleasant, the service was very good, the bill for one with breakfast, coffee, and two Mimosas, didnt kill me...

The place had a nice calm ambiance. (Unlike most breakfast diners where its stressful loud and crazy) The servers were all young very sweet women when I went which added to the nice environment. No jaded grumps slamming down waffles at you. Unfortunately my food allergies prohibit me from eating most of their food but they were very helpful and kind answering all my questions and making adjustments to my meal. The person I was with got biscuits and gravy and said they were perfect (they looked like the best Ive seen since living in CA) will absolutely go back to try the lunch and dinner options. And will plan for a mimosas brunch next time 🥂

I was in the area and remembered this place had a steady flow of customers when I was eating at Kinders the time before. It was busy this time, always a good sign for restaurants. My mom and I both ordered breakfast items. Chicken Fried Steak and 2 eggs with bacon and hash browns. Both were good. Their menu was pretty large, many breakfast choices, sandwiches & burgers. They even have dinner entrees after 4 pm. I will be back to try other items.

First time at JPs Bistro visiting my mom grew up in Martinez. food was good sweet potatoes were just right, chicken avocado sandwich was good, avocado was cut up too small so kept falling out of sandwich but it was good very clean, nice atmosphere friendly staff made sure your drinks were filled. Definetely will go back when visiting.

What a great spot in Martinez! Im so happy they are here! I had the classic club and it was excellent. Lettuce was crispy, the bread tasty, and the onion rings on the side were crunchy and served piping hot. The husband had a burger and he really enjoyed it. Generous portions and really fresh. Four of us had lunch on Friday afternoon. I had the club sandwich, which had plenty of meat and flavor. Clam chowder was good. My wife had the chicken sandwich and fries, both she said were great. No complaints from the other two guests. Neat and clean atmosphere with friendly staff and easy going ambience. Its definitely a place you can visit once a week and have an enjoyable meal.

I dont live in Martinez any more but if I did I would come here all the time. I went twice while I was in town, I got the JPs Benedict and the strawberries and cream French toast. The food was delicious both times and the staff was friendly and attentive, always keeping my coffee mug full. The space is new and clean and they have TVs you can watch while you eat. The owner Megan came out to talk to us, she is so sweet and you can tell she really cares about everyone having a great experience. Ill definitely be coming back next time Im in Martinez.

Usually your food is very good, but my friend bought two of your rib-eye taco salads today, and there terrible. There was so much fat on the meat, that we couldnt eat it. Also, very little toppings. Very disappointing, but thought you needed to know so that you can improve on this dish.

JPs Bistro has a very enthusiastic staff who are happy to tell you about their menu. I had a Philly cheese steak, it was served on a Ciabatta roll with a not so traditional Swiss cheese instead of provolone. The mashed potatoes were lacking in flavor.

Not worth the price or hype! My meat was mostly just fat, thin, bit oily, and no flavor. The mash potato’s were liquidy and the broccoli was mush. Overall, made my stomach hurt and feel like I’m going to be sick. Everything was just very bland, not edible, and not worth the $ I paid.

My son went in and ordered (13yr) he said they were all very nice. I ordered the tuna melt comes with fries I give it a 10+++ delicious. My son ordered the BLT he gave it a 10+. We will be eating there again. The prices are reasonable, spend the same at a drive through but 100x better!!
