Water thankfully I had ordered a soda. Service was good cant complain ladies there were super sweet. The atmosphere there was boring, not only that it was pretty hot and stuffy really wanted a alcoholic drink with the heat I choose not too. Chips tasted weird and were harder than usual.

We had a reservation for 7:30 on a Thursday night and we still had to wait for about 30 mins to get seated. The restaurant is small so theres not that many tables and I think theyre still shortstaffed. We ordered the bbq albacore, scallop wraps (so good), baby calamari (really good), otoro (perfect amount of fat and it just melts in your mouth) and at least 8 different rolls. They were all good but after awhile they all tasted similar.

One of my favourite places to go to. Owner and sushi chefs are very accommodating. My favourite roll is Chubby Andy and their spicy edamame is the best one in the area. Trust me I’ve tried most sushi in this area and this one is definitely the go-to for me.

When I arrived at 3pm, the server seated us immediately. There was only 1 server attending the restaurant so the service was kinda slow.- Chubby Andy roll: loaded with delicious fillings (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, unagi, crab). The size of roll was rather small and I wish that they didn’t put too much of teriyaki sauce on the sushi.- Shrimp tempura roll: good. My kid devoured it all and loved it.I was lucky enough to find parking right across the street from the restaurant. I believe there’s a parking lot on R street if the street parking was challenging.

The flavor, presentation, and quality of ingredients at Ju Hachi Japanese Cuisine was not commensurate with the menu price. While the quality of the food left much to be desired, the quality of service was adequate overall.Ordered:California rollSpicy tuna roll,Chefs special 10pc nigiriFlavor:The spicy tuna rolls filling was more chili sauce than fish that left an overpowering flavor strong enough where I could not even taste the fish. The filling looked like, felt like, and tasted almost as if it was entirely made of samjang (korean chili paste) instead of tuna.Several key aspects were missing from the sushi rice. The rice was too soft and broke apart too easily making it hard to grab the sushi with chopsticks. The nigiri lacked structural integrity. Moreover, the sushi rice seemed to lack the characteristic rice vingear taste. The quality of the ingredients heavily detracted from the product overall, leaving a one-dimensional flavor to the sushi that one might expect with gas station or grocery store sushi.Presentation:My initial observation of the restaurant is that the table I sat at was sticky. I also couldnt help but notice that there were tubs of sushi ginger on display on the side.I felt that the spicy tuna roll cuts were wildly inconsistent in size and shape, leading me to call into question the lack of attention to detail at this restaurant.Service:Our waitress was responsive and polite.

This place has been one of our go-to’s for meetings with clients, friends, family, even to just decompress solo and have a delightful conversation with the staff at the bar.The staff is top notch, a true neighborhood friend! Very educated and passionate about what they’re doing. Any questions we had, they’ve answered with such enthusiasm and excitement that it really adds to the experience. This is a hidden gem that needs to remain hidden, because I want to keep it all to myself. In all seriousness, you have to try this place out. You will not be disappointed!

The service here is great. The staff here are attentive and will answer any questions about menu items, specials, and substitutions. The food is really good as well. The atmosphere is really cozy, but it does have the potential to get a bit loud, if youre a dine in silence kind of person. Ive been here numerous times and all of my experiences here have been exemplary and this is a go to spot for sushi or other Japanese cuisine when needed.

The food was not great. Rolls were rice with very little fish. The seared tuna was poorly prepared and drenched in sauce. On the bright side, our server was very attentive, and the other wait staff were friendly.

What a great little sushi restaurant in Midtown. Small, with some outside seating we really enjoyed. We liked everything we ordered here, and we ordered a lot! The shoshito peppers were simple but amazing, and the Red Roll... so good! Our server was very nice, I wish I had gotten her name, lol. Seriously a super sweet girl. We even stuck around for the tempura cheesecake, which was delicious.
