Over all reaction from my group: Happy hour slaps.The food looked and tasted amazing! Service was great! Patrick answered every question we had and was so kind and a wonderful. Tina was great too! The food came out quickly and was perfect for sharing. The happy hour deal doesnt run on Saturday and Sunday.

Food was delicious but service wasn’t great. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, which was really good! I definitely recommend it. However, like other people are saying in the reviews the waiter I had was not pleasant. He just dumped stuff on the table and walked away without asking if I needed anything. When I was paying I gave him a card that has 2 sides, one is my university ID and the other is my debit card. He tried twice and gave up. So, he gave the card and card reader to another waitress to figure it out herself. Then he walked away annoyed. I explained to the waitress (who was really nice) which was the debit side. She made it work on the first try. I want to go back, but the service of that one waiter makes me hesitate .

Spending the day with my partner in crime, we decided to partake in an early morning movie and around noon we stopped by to check out a new sushi spot (new to us at least lol). The staff was friendly and the food was heavenly. Its like every bite got us one step closer to Valhalla. I guess you can tell what movie we went to see (Thor Love & Thunder). I definitely recommend this place if you are in the OC.

Always delicious. Always good service. I am always guaranteed that the food I receive is fresh, consistent and delicious. The service provided but the staff is excellent and professional. They also have Happy Hour. I have so many favorites here. The Salmon Asparagus Roll is one of my go-to orders. Their Alaskan Roll is also good. Check out my pics! They say it all!

They have a pretty big Happy Hour menu (3-6pm) which included some yummy tempura shrimp and veggies for only $5! However, the calamari had a heavy breading on it which I didnt like and the Alaskan Salmon roll was just OK. Service was fine.

🍣 Kabuki is one of my families favorite Japanese restaurants... but going back after the Covid lockdown was a disappointment. The restaurant was FILTHY!!!!! I had to leave my table to find a lunch menu. They sell tea by the CUP, not by the Kettle. I really wanted an authentic Japanese meal but the teriyaki tasted like sweet, pineapple. I tried to wash it away, with soy sauce. Didnt really work. I had to spit the chicken gristle out. The best part of the whole meal, was the rice. My shrimp and vegetable tempura had just one shrimp a few green beans & a small piece of zucchini. The soup & salad. Mmh, it was okay-ish. Nothing special. No reason to return. 15 bucks, 4 that.

Fresh and delicious! After driving many hours on the road we looked up local sushi restaurants to where we were going. This turned out to be a wonderful find. Service was great and the food fresh and delicious! We will defiantly be back since we have family who live in the area.

I had the Tonkatsu Ramen for lunch today, and I must say that it was pretty good. The flavors of the broth and pork belly are really good. I could taste the char on the pork belly, and the broth has a mellow but full flavor.The only thing missing is the soft boiled egg. I feel this is an important ingredient in Tonkatsu Ramen, and for it to be left out was a bit dissapointing.The service staff is friendly and professional.If I was in the area, and in the mood for Ramen, Id most likely drop in again.

Hi updating my review. Came here last year for my moms birthday. Back here again! Our waiter Eugene couldn’t have been nicer. The food was delicious. The entire staff saying happy birthday to my mom! Super nice server! The food is good. My husband loves the Ramen there. My mom loved her teriyaki chicken. Large portions.

Ive been coming to this place for years and I had good and bad services but what got me really upset this time around is that we got charged 1 dollar for siracha all my family likes to eat siracha with their food so we had to pay $5 dollars for get five little cups of siracha when the bottle of siracha is $3 dollars that is too much never coming here again.x

Ive been coming here since they opened at the Bella Terra shopping mall in Huntington Beach. I like the food and have noticed on my most recent visit that management have made awesome changes in hospitality and morality in staff. The atmosphere is a mixture of excitement and peaceful in a good way. They have a sushi bar as well as booth seating and large table seating to accommodate larger groups. The restaurant is clean and decorative. Kabuki is perfectly located in the heart of the new outdoor garden area. ( thats for another review😄) additionally Kabuki is right across from the movie theater and makes for a great place to dine on movie night.They have a great menu with a number of traditional sushi rolls as well as some crafted by their own sushi chef🍱🍣. Additionally they have many other non sushi dishes too. Its hard for me to pick any one thing as my favorite as I try something new every time. Food portions are good for me and I usually like to share with a friend to optimize the whole trying different things..thing😁 They also serve beer, wine and cocktails. On this day (pictured), the manager was giving out full cocktail samples of various cocktail for diners to try🍹🍷🍸. The drink in the picture is the one he offer to my table and I liked it so much I took a picture of the name to remember in the menu...its the boop-oop-a-doop. 😄 I have been here dozens of times and highly recommend Kabuki. Its simply a beautiful place to come both in and around. As well as having good food.

The salmon with shrimp tempura was delicious and so is there sukiyaki dish. It taste fresh and well flavored. The service could be better. Waitress got the order wrong and it took a long time to get my order. I should of been compensated for the mistake. The waiter doesnt always come back to make sure everything is good. Its basic restaurant policy. Other than that, Id give it 5 stars.

This was the worst Kabuki experience I’ve ever had. And sadly Kabuki is my favorite sushi restaurants. I just moved here a month ago, from San Diego, and was happy to have a Kabuki down the street from my house.It took a while to be greeted and seated.. waiting at the counter for a bit… waited over 15 minutes before any waiter or waitress came to my table. And I was sitting alone.They never came. I had just come from a workout so I was very thirsty, plus it was sunny… so still no one came, until I flagged them down, asking for a water and letting them know, by that time, I was ready to order.He seemed annoyed and bothered that I would turn around and dare ask for anything.The gentleman, with the bald head, took my order, and then when bringing the drinks, gave me very little wasabi and very little ginger knowing I had just ordered three rolls.My food was brought to me by a different waitress. No one introduced themselves or let me know they were the waiting on my table …I had to request a refill of water. No one checked on my table. I had to wait another 15 minutes to wait for more ponzu, ginger, and wasabi, and watching one of my dishes sit on the sushi bar for over 15. By the time I received my food, it was mushy, gross, very little sauce and I literally gagged on the last few pieces, almost throwing up at my table. (Not exaggerating)I asked for a manager, and the girl serving me, who had a long braid in her hair, told me she was the manager. I let her know my experiences and though she said she was sorry about the experience, it was insincere, as she was the one that was “waiting” on me.She apologized and asked me if I wanted a discount. I declined and let her know I just wanted the problem fixed, as I just moved here and had a horrible experience at my favorite restaurant.Her facial expressions and lack of influx in her tone, suggested apathy, though her words repeatedly apologized.The service at this location was horrendous. I’ve been eating sushi my whole life, and I’ve never gagged on a dish.Highly disappointed, and won’t be surprised if this location shuts down.There were not many people in there, as half of restaurant was completely empty. Not one person was sitting at the sushi bar or cocktail bar.I even told the the person walking in, good luck!It’s a true reflection of poor management and poor training.Or perhaps they don’t cater to people in workout clothes who come to dine alone.My boyfriend and I typically tip very generously, but today tipping $5 on a $57 meal seemed too high.I highly doubt I’ll be returning.

Joshua, the waiter, deserves a RAISE. The entire service experience was immaculate. He was extremely attentive and friendly which made our dinner tons of fun. My friends food took a bit longer and he made sure to stop by to assure us it’s on our way as well as lighten the mood with jokes. Our drinks never went empty and we were able to be in and out quickly due to the great service. Like I said give my man’s Joshua a raise. I can’t say I’ve ever had such a good waiter before.

Ordered on line and food was packed very efficiently with condiments and chopsticks. Delivery arrived earlier than stated.The miso soup and tempura dipping sauce were tasty, but on the salty side. The green salad was slightly wilted due to being packed with hot items.The tonkatsu was really good (needs more dipping sauce) and the California roll was fresh, but cut fairly thick. Overall food quality/prep was good. Will order from them again.

Im going to assume there was a change in ownership or manager because Kabuki use to be a dining experience. It started a few months ago when I placed a pick-up order and the serving portions were drastically smaller and they forgot a roll in my order. Today we dined in and it was not the same as previous dine-in experiences. Our party of 7 was offered two table options and both were dirty. The waitress said shed be back with a cloth, but she never did. Thankfully I had wipes in my purse and I cleaned both tables and chairs. The floors were so sticky that it was clear it hadnt been properly cleaned in a long time. There are no more edamame for the table or miso soup with your order. The portions are much smaller, including the size of the rolls. The waiter put in an incorrect order and we asked for the item that was originally ordered and they had to send someone else to tell us what was ordered; basically trying to tell US what we ordered and not what was placed. All the staff was busy talking to each other or watching TV. It is drastically different and NOT what it once was. They asked us if everything was well and we expressed our disappointment and they apologized and told us we could call corporate to file a formal complaint. Its just sad that a once, nice sit-down Japanese restaurant has gone down hill.

For me. Just for me. Well my group and I this place was the most disappointing I have been in quite some time. The quasi Japanese food was well below average on quality and taste. The Japanese salad dressing that I so much look forward to had no flavor whatsoever. Of course this is one of those pretend Japanese chains that basically just wants to sell you teriyaki and California rolls. The teriyaki was way too sweet and the meats had no other flavor but were nice and rubbery. The real problem was the service. We sat and watched multiple tables get seated then wait 20 plus minutes before giving up and leaving since no one would even greet them at their tables. As for our server he started as just barely providing the most basic service then disappeared after we got our food. No refills of drinks no questions about how things are. No communication at all. In fact every server disappeared for almost half an hour leaving only the hostess and bus boy on the floor. Both of which had chips on their shoulders. At least they were also unhelpful and in one case rude so that does maintain the expectations. This was our second try at this place after previously having a poor experience a few years ago. Certainly our last experience with Kabuki. There is much better Japanese available in the area.

Came during happy hour and near the end of lunch. Service is good but the food is a hit or miss. We got the chicken teriyaki combo, Alaska roll, and Philadelphia roll. The Alaska roll tasted like mush. Rice was mushy. Flavors just all tasted the same and not distinct. Philadelphia roll was not much better. Sorry guys, this was not good nor authentic Japanese food. We saw the decent rating and good amount of diners and takeout customers so we gave it a try for lunch. Our daughters kids orange chicken came out, not just overdone, but burnt. The sushi rolls were certainly not fresh fish or any sort of decent grade. The rainbow roll was not vibrant but dull. Not fresh tasting, instead very drab and lifeless. It was hard to take the very next bite each time. Like a dare. The crunchy spicy tuna roll had absolutely no crunch. And the pieces too wide so instead of being delicate, the pieces were floppy. I think people need to see an honest review of a bad experience to consider their options. Our only guess for the number of customers there was it must be the only sushi option in the area.

This used to be our favorite spot for Japanese food. After being a patron for years, we are moving on because our 2 latest visit was just horrible. We noticed that the restaurant is not being kept clean anymore - the tables and seats are dingy and greasy, there are crumbs and dead insects by the windows. On both visits, we had our food served cold. The tempura was served cold and the oil they used had taste - it tasted like old oil. It was really disappointing and felt that this place is not the same anymore. Not worth the money in my books.

After 5 years came back over here, the first thing was they not honor the $100 dollars Gift card that we paid for our self and asked us to call the corporation. The service is so slow and bad, the main dishes came out first and the appetize is not, we asked the waitress to cancel the appetize, she went to the kitchen and the kitchen guy brought out the appetize and the waitress did not come to said anything, so we called her and asked to have it to go, Instead of place the Tuna rolls nicely in the to go box, She dumped everything in there and mashed all the rolls. I was more than pleasantly surprised by how well crafted the dishes were here.I had a pork noodle bowl where the meat was flavorful and wonderfully soft textured! The noodles and the rest of the dish were combined very well.The calamari appraiser was one of the best Ive gotten anywhere, including making it at home. It was cooked for a good flavor and texture and had a satisfying ratio of breading-to-calamari; not overwhelmingly breaded and not overly fishy.I cant remember what salad I ordered but it was also well portioned and a sublime combination of ingredients. Same thing with the roll we ordered.The beer on tap was great flavor and temperature.The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent; I easily felt very comfortable and enjoyed the interaction with the hostess/waiter.I am looking forward to the next time I can come back here!

I came here for dinner around 7:30 on Saturday night. It was packed we were seated after about 20 mins. Not to bad the young lady was new so she was doing her best which was good enough for me. Greeted with a smile and friendly cant complain. We ordered gyozas, edemae, Raman, albacore cilantro roll, Vegas roll, spicy tuna roll, Miso soup, green tea ice cream and the tiki tiki drink (it was blue). The drink was really good. Everything was great except the Ramen. I have gotten the Roman before here but this time it had absolutely no flavor which was surprising and disappointing. I tried adding chili paste, soy sauce nothing helped. I let my 15 year old try it she agreed no flavor at all. The albacore cilantro roll was on fire we ordered another and finished it. Our waitress was nice and pretty much on point for as busy as it was. Great job guys 9 out of 10 isnt bad. 👏😊

We just stopped in after going to the trendy taco place in their because we were not full.All we had was there sashimi and it was nothing special or really that fresh. We had the Sashimi assorted plate which was OK. Then tried the Marlin. Like I said nothing was 5 star quality fresh. The experience at the sushi bar was not very intimate and was not a bad experience but a ok one. Everything was just OK compared to other sushi places I have grown up going to in Newport, Huntington, and Malibu. It sounds egotistical but it is the reality of it. You can find more intimate and better quality Sashimi and sushi in general all up and down the coast.

So sad! We love going to Kabuki and then to the movies. Tonight we went in and they sat us right away. The hostess put the menus down and just walked away. She did nothing to help the server get set ups, drinks, or anything. She couldn’t even manage to be pleasant. It took forever for a waiter to come over to our table to greet us. He then said he would be back. He brought us water and then we never saw him again. Finally a someone came over to take our order after she took the order of the two tables that were sat after we sat down. They were not short staffed. First let me start by saying my 3 star raising is not based on quality of food. Your food is great. My 3 star review is based on the experience I had at I lunch yesterday (Monday) at 1 pm. As we arrived I noticed a busser cleaning up a table. We were quickly sat. I quickly noticed my server was juggling eight tables at once which even for the best of service this is not easy to do. My drink order was taken fairly quickly and up until this point everything was fine. Only when we ordered did things go awry at this point I noticed that no manager or any other employee walked back out onto the dining room floor until we were about finished with our meal 45 minutes later my server was so slammed that he forgot to bring us things on three different occasions including rice that I had ordered I didn’t get any wasabi and ginger for the sushi that we ordered at the end of our meal we had to wait about 10 minutes just to be able to pay And leave.honestly don’t blame the server this guy was working really hard and doing the best that he could who I blame is the management because clearly you sent the busser on break right as we got there and decided Never to walk onto the floor to see if your server needed any help needless to say management needs to step their game up on this place as well as the tables are way too close to each other not even close to being 6 feet apart if you make sure the guest is treated properly I guess will come back if you make sure the guest is not properly waited on it’s doubtful he will come back I know this because I worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years

This place is a bit pricey but the taste was very nice you have to do the cooking yourself (pretty easy) but it can get unpleasantly hot and smoky. We had dinner today at patio area and the service were terrible. We ordered four dinner entries and each came out separately and about 15 to 20 minutes apart. By the time the last two entries were brought out, the other two people in my group have already done with their meal. You could say Im pretty big on sushi and love to try new things and specials. Ive only really ever come to this Kabuki for happy hour so I havent ever really tried too many things out of the ordinary. During happy hour some of their rolls are on special (maybe a little less than half price) and their alcohol is half price as well. They have the basic selection of rolls and a several specialty rolls (but nothing I havent seen anywhere else). Their hot food is actually pretty good too and they have some available for happy hour. Loved going here to Kabuki in Bella Terra but after yesterday first day back from corona virus shutdown, I will think twice before returning. New menus, some fave dishes taken off menu, service was not the usual wonderful customer service they used to have, ordered the House Soecial Kabuki Roll which has a significant price increase and it looked nothing like it was supposed to look - the rolls were a sloppy mess like quickly thrown together and no orchid flower. The mushrooms in the mushroom miso soup were chewy and rubbery for some reason. I’ve had this a lot in the past and this is my first disappointment. My friend had ordered baked scallop rolls and when they came they were raw. We were hungry and it was getting late so she kept them but huge disappointment. Overall if this is their new normal they will lose a lot of customers with higher prices and lower quality food and service. Sad! I looked forward to their reopening for three months.

I was disappointed with my Teriyaki Chicken with Tempura shrimp and Tempura Vegetables. The Tempura shrimp was soggy. The menu did not give any description of the Teriyaki chicken so I expected white chicken meat and vegetables served over the rice. One of the writers did notice that are beverages were nearly finished and asked if we wanted refills in a timely manner. Personally I would not go back. I ordered Spicy Beef Ramen with no mushrooms. I am allergic to mushrooms. I cannot eat mushrooms. They put mushrooms in my ramen. I cant eat my ramen. I am disappointed and hungryyyy. I have no problem spending $15 on ramen, except when I cant eat it.

The food (Lotus fire roll, Sunkissed roll and Spicy Albacore tuna roll) all delicious! Their adult beverages Lei Lani has Roku gin, lime, pineapple juice w/almond and rose water and the Margheritas were not watered down. Very good dining experience!

So I was part of a big party and the table next us was filled with stupid teenage boys so I wasnt going to make things harder on our server by making a fuss but the Chashu Ramen was by far the worst ramen Ive had. No flavor at all, noodles sucked, pork was ok but for a 10 dollar bowl of noodles Id hope for better than Top Ramen and it honestly wasnt. I get the big draw is sushi but if you cant get a dish right, dont offer it.

Great variety of different options. Had yellowtail sashimi which was very fresh, and the boyfriend ordered the spicy seafood udon pasta, it was awesome, the scallops were huge! Everything we had was delicious, well be back.
