I have to start by saying that I have really enjoyed their ramen in the past. Its very tasty and I would definitely have it again. Today I ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl and a spicy tuna poke. I have to say Im quite disappointed. The spiky poke didnt have much flavor. In the menu is says it comes with avocado and cucumbers, but there were no cucumbers. As for the chicken teriyaki bowl, also not much flavor either. Its a little odd that they add two cherry tomatoes to the bowl, but they also add corn which is also a bit strange. More than anything, the wait time at this restaurant is way too long. Its not the first time we have had to wait a long time for our food to be ready, but this time I ordered my food for pick at 2:30pm through Uber Eats and it stated that it would be ready at 2:45pm. I arrived at 2:50pm and did not get my food until 3:15pm. Which means it was late by 30 minutes. The server and cook were both very nice and offered a drink on the house, which I appreciate, but thats just way to long for a simple two plates to be prepared. It took them 45 minutes to have my order ready. Anyway, I do recommend the ramen, its very tasty, but be prepared to wait a long time for your meal.
Disappointing... Decided to give them a try on a Friday evening. Ordered a takeout. First choice was sold out, so went for their recommended chicken ramen. Taste was OK, but I literally got one small slice of chicken, half an egg and a small sprinkle of spring onion w/noodles for $18. Menu description included crispy onion (completely missing of my order). The picture on their own menu showed multiple pieces of chicken, and beautifully full bowl. It was not. Appetizers of crispy tuna and sesame chicken were average. Sesame chicken was dripping in fat. Will not be back.
This is my new place to dine. Ramen is flavorful with depth but not salty. I had the Mild Bomb Ramen and it was perfect. Comes with a seasoned egg that adds creaminess to the broth. Wait staff was very attentive as well. Music was upbeat and rhythmic. Chefs acknowledge guess when they enter as well.Lovely new spot. Give it a try!!
Not sure what others were saying about low quality ingredients. This place has good quality ingredients and is not greasy. It was a little pricey as others have pointed out but not terribly so. Plus, restaurant prices are all up now with inflation.Friendly service. Nice menu with a variety of traditional and modern options, as well as some non-ramen dishes.Its nice inside (although the outside could use some love). Feels airy and light. Easy payment with scan check on your phone and use Apple Pay.Will eat here again.
The food was very good and the service fantastic! The waitress Haley was the absolute kindest! I’m so happy I finally have a good ramen place nearby!! Loved the potato croquettes and chicken ramen so much.
Was really impressed with this place, friendly service, got the tonkotsu and chicken ramen and it was very very good, and I’m normally a pho lover over ramen but this place was good. I see a lot of people complaining about price, but most ramen places i go now are similar prices $20 for ramen, so I don’t think it’s way over priced, i think it’s right on market for right now. You can tell this is quality ramen. Will come here again soon
It’s solid but overpriced. The black tonkotsu only comes with 2 tiny pieces of pork, which is disappointing. Ask for more and it’s a surcharge. Every other ramen place I’ve been to gives you a sizable amount of pork/protein, so it’s clear they’re being cheap - especially at this price point
We went in and waited to be seated by ONE waiter/server. then we were sat at an unusually large table. we waited 10 minutes for menus, 10 minutes for drinks, 10 for appetizers and food. after waiting and waiting, my friend received a very unfortunate “poke”. it was minced tuna over wet avocado. it was NOT poke. they were also completely out of ALL SEAFOOD… on a friday night? then the two ramens came out. the volcano was not bad, not great. needs more lime. the bomb ramen was a massive disappointment. apart from the disappointment of flavor, there was hair in it. no one wears hairnets and this is a recurring complaint. the only good parts were the garlic fries and thai teas and those were “okay” at best. they did not help us until we literally stood up. then they tried to charge us for the hairy ramen. until finally 15 minutes later, we were given the correct bill and could leave. big, fat disappointment. boo kai ramen.
The ramen here actually taste authentic, the food was great the service was quick and smooth one of the better ramen shops I’ve been to in Cali.
The place is incredible - some of the best ramen in LA. Don’t miss the gyoza, classic tomkatsu, pork chasu. 10/10

I can highly recommend Kai’s for a quick and fantastic Ramen fix.Would deduct 1/2 star if pricing was more attractive. But then again, you get why you pay for.

They sesame seed fried chicken was on point and the fries were pretty good too. Definitely a family spot not a going out spot. But would definitely come back for the ramen.

2023-03-08 02:59:49Was a decently good little ramen place the broth was flavorful and my chicken ramen was filling. We got the chicken stemed buns and was they were delicious. I was ok with the tofu needed a little more oomph but not bad over all the price for two people with appetizer was about 70. Would definitely try again in the future.

2022-11-08 19:33:04We had a bittersweet experience at this place.Service: My husband and I went around 7:15 pm on Saturday. It was fairly busy, but we got our order in pretty quickly. Lots of people came after us and started receiving their food. After 20 min in we found out that the server forgot to punch in our order. We didnt mind much because we had time plus the server was brand new so we didnt want to make it hard on him. Our food arrived after 1 hour of placing an order and the appetizers came after the food. I got black tonokatsu ramen. It seemed a little dry and the additonal topping I asked for was missing, so after voicing the concern I got little more broth and topping on side. After eating few bites I found a hair in my bowl so I complained to the 2nd server and she ordered a replacement. As disgusting as it sounds, we agreed to get the fresh bowl.Food: My husband loved his vegan ramen. Vegan Bun was ok, I wouldnt order it. It was dry and chewy. I loved my new bowl of black tonokatsu ramen. I would highly recommend trying it. We also had chocolate mochi which was good.Parking: Street parking could be hard to find, but we parked in the large shopping complex with Bristol farms, CVS, etc. From there Kai is only couple buildings down which takes few seconds to walk.Rating: Despite of our experience Im giving 4 star because this place has a great potential and the food is amazing. It is a brand new place with short staff. They had total 2 servers, 2 cooks and no manager. I would like to give them a benefit of doubt because they might need more time to be fully staffed and pick up on their service. Mai was incredibly helpful to us even though she wasnt our server.Ill update my review based on the future visit trends.

That’s thoughtful. I appreciate it.I‘m grateful for the existence of this restaurant because there is no good Asian restaurant nearby.

It was all soo so-so.Apparently this place is a chain with a few other places all over town.Service was so so.

If you are looking for a creamy Japanese ramen, go with the Bomb Ramen, it is very creamy. However, I may want to try their classic ramen to see if their ramen is good or not. Since the Bomb ramen was different, it was tough to tell if the creamy broth with the spicy minced pork was a good ramen. The blend of flavors was not as synergistic for me. The Takoyaki was good but in comparison to others I had around LA, it may fall to average. The coconut sorbet was the best one out of the three. It was well presented in a coconut shell and once you are able to grab scoops after working for them, delicious.

2023-01-27 22:17:25We ordered the buttercorn ramen and spicy beef ramen. We also got two yuzu sodas which were nice and sweet, like candied orange peels. The buttercorn ramen was good, though the chashu had an almost rubbery texture. But the spicy beef ramen had next to no flavor in the broth. I think they forgot to add the shoyu tare (soy sauce base) because it was like drinking spicy water. The noodles had a good texture but inherited the lack of flavor from the broth. I just ended up eating the toppings. Disappointing.
