Quick stop at lunch with the family. Fair prices for the area and food good, particularly the Bento boxes. The rolls have a good amount of fish and rice. It all tasted pretty fresh. Staff were friendly, there was only a minimal wait at around 1.45pm when we arrived. Would come again!

The sushi here is top notch and it was my first time but definitely not the last time eating here. The service was stellar and the staff were all very friendly. The rolls are typical with the 8 pieces per roll but some rolls had large pieces of fish on top which was fantastic! The seafood all tasted very fresh and the rolls came out quickly. Granted it was a Sunday and it wasn’t to busy when we first got there but regardless, amazing service. We tried 5 rolls and not a single one I would not order again! The Fire Dragon and Five Star rolls are absolutely delicious!!

I Doordashed this place for the first time and am super upset at the portion sizes. The sushi itself looks pretty good, havent tasted it yet. The salad and the miso portions are pathetic. I havent touched either and this is the amount I received. Also my dasher, who was awesome, waiting 30mins for it to be ready at the restaurant and I waited over an hour. I live 10 minutes away. I dont mind waiting, but now for a sip of soup and 1 bite of salad for those prices :/Might go in person and review again if the fish is good. I ordered Sashimi/Nigeria combo and the cherry blossom.

I met up with a couple girlfriends, one who frequents Kaizen, and it was my first.The food and service was great! We even received complimentary fish cheeks and it was delicious! Thank you!We met up at 5:30 pm and closed the place down at 9:30 pm.You HAVE to try the FRESH Wasabi, but you do have to ask for it. You dont need to add to soy sauce. Its a game changer! It was the first time Ive had it and even heard of it. My girlfriend said she had it when she was in Hawaii.One thing that was questionable was the table was so sticky everything stuck to the table. Otherwise, everything was great.

This sushi restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall. Had excellent food and service. The miso soup was delicious, as was the cucumber salad as starters. My companion had a bento box and I had Gyoza along with several rolls. All were very tasty and well prepared. Also I ordered too much but it all looked good!Parking lot in front. Surprisingly large restaurant inside; appeared smaller from outside. Dine in available.

Great place with fresh seafood and excellent service.This is our go to place in Campbell. It is at the end of a chain of shops, so the outside is not very appealing, but the inside is nice and clean enough to make up.The service is excellent and the best part is that this place not very busy even on weekends.

This place, though in a strip mall, is the best Sushi in Campbell, if not all of Silicon Valley. Very nice atmosphere and a staff that genuinely cares. The sushi is par excellence and they are consistent. This place could take the Pepsi Challenge with your favorite sushi spots.

Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff are very friendly and attentive and constantly check in on you to make sure everythings okay. Pretty extensive menu and the prices are reasonable. Food itself tastes good and fresh for the price point. The only minor complaint is the bizarrely sticky tables, dont know whats up with that. If youre looking for some decent sushi at a good price, consider checking this place out.

Warning: this once wonderful restaurant has done a 180° turn because the couple that owned it have retired. She was full of warmth and friendliness and the food was superb, even the rice. It has turned from one of the best restaurants to the worst possible restaurant ever!I really never knew what bad customer service was before I sadly chose to eat here. Most of time I appreciate the hard-working servers and staff, and I dont mind if I have to occasionally get up to ask for something thats okay.This restaurant did not make me feel welcome in every possible way. First they tried telling me they werent open(they were), then they tried telling me that they didnt have any food, well Im looking over at the sushi bar and seeing plenty of fish over there. They start back pedaling and offered me a table which I dont even want anymore but I am so very late and starving I feel like I dont have a choice about it so I just bite my tongue and take the abuse. I tried to order right away since I was so late and was blown off. When I finally received the food I was so so hungry and in such a hurry and popped a sushi in my mouth before realizing that the fish was not cold anymore. Its real important to keep fish at a certain temperature. I wish I could have unswallowed the food because the fish was warm. The other few items I had werent temperature sensitive so I ate those cuz I was so darn hungry. The quality of the other food was substandard.By the time I left my stomach was all twisted up from the stress and the worry about eating fish not kept at the proper temperature.Later that night, yep you guessed it, I got violently ill. Not just mild food poisoning symptoms that go away in a day. I couldnt even get out of bed for 3 days. I had a headache so bad I felt like I had been poisoned. I was so dehydrated cuz I couldnt keep Anything down. Im definitely going to contact the Department of Health about this. Ive eaten in little hole in the wall restaurants and fancy restaurants that serve sushi and never ever had a problem.Theres a Sushi Confidential nearby that seems to have pretty good reviews. My very strong suggestion would be to choose them instead, I will as soon as I recover from the horrible visit to Kaizen Restaurant.

Creative menu (sushi rolls), and a good number of veg options. For vegetarians they have five different entrees, I recommend the Spicy Tofu Don. Other dishes to try are the Salmon Belly, Scallops, special rolls Lion King and FBI. Service heres pretty good.

One of my go-to sushi spots in the South Bay, mainly for their fresh and large sashimi cuts and specials, such as the rock salt toro and salmon belly. Ive only sat at the bar - both chef and staff service are excellent. The place looks unassuming, tucked in the back of a tiny strip mall, but is pretty popular so be sure to arrive before the dinner rush.

This place is amazing! My favorite sushi spot. I brought one of my friends to it and introduced him today to Kaizen and he couldnt stop ranting and raving about how good it was. Huge portions, great service and delicious cuts of fish! I really wish I could eat sushi everyday and ever since Ive been coming to hear I have never touched another sushi place as they dont even compare to the quality of Kaizen!

Has a decent offering of sashimi varieties outside the typical low grade tuna/salmon/hamachi and some creative sushi rolls. Their nigiri was a total fail last time I tried. Mushy and overly wet rice. Whoever made the rice that day must be having a bad day. I wouldnt even eat that rice on its own, let alone paired with anything over it.

I placed an order for delivery and was quite impressed with how everything actually held together. The sushi was all in place and they even placed the sashimi in the box as if it were plated on a dish. The restaurant also included an ice pack to keep the sashimi fresh, which I really appreciate.I got the simple cucumber roll and the salmon sashimi. The sushi was tasted great - perfect crunch! The sashimi was quite fresh as well, and did not disappoint either.Only downside is that the portion sizes were quite small.

This is how sashimi should be! The toro on the salt block was so fresh and great texture. I had the Hawaiian poke salad and even the sashimi in that was 👌 big chunks of fish, not the scraps of other sashimi dishes that other places have served in their sashimi salads.

All the servers at the restaurant was kind and friendly. The food was good, but not popping with flavors (didnt give you the feeling that you wanted more). Thats not to say the food tasted plain at all, just that it was missing that flavorful factor.

This was such a gem of a find! Highly recommend paying a visit!! The food was delicious and the prices were really good for what we were getting. We would easily spend what we paid here on sushi for one at other places so were really surprised to see how low the check was for two with the works at the end of our meal. The fish was very good as were the creative appetizers. They had a great nigiri and sushi roll selection. The wait staff was very kind and attentive even though the place got busy. I will absolutely be back and see myself being a regular here! The only advice I would give/change I would make is to clean the tables with a tougher cleaner as they were a bit sticky and to print some new menus as some pages were a bit rough. Other than that, this place was wonderful!!

I’m surprised no one else has reported false pricing on their menu. They supposedly offer lunch specials every day for $8.95 (bento and spicy miso). When the bill came our dish was priced at $10.95. When we asked about it she said on weekends lunch specials are $1 more. Ok fine...even though it doesn’t state that anywhere. But that’s not even $1 more it’s $2 more!?!??? Also the CA rolls which are priced at $4.95 on the menu was billed $5.95. I really hate to ding a small restaurant business but isn’t that illegal? Times are rough so we paid the bill. The food was great but this dishonestly isn’t right. Also service was slow and they don’t have tap water and only offer bottled. Sorry but we aren’t coming back and unfortunately we will let all our friends know about this.

Loved the atmosphere! Very clean, friendly and fast service! The menu was pretty extensive. We loved our sashimi salad and how it had capers! The rolls were tasty, great size, beautifully made! They could care less if you were standing at the entrance for 10 minutes straight, which is exactly what I experienced. All the waiters and waitresses kept glancing at me from afar, tending to the seated guests, but none bothered to welcome me in or greet me. One waiter finally came up to the entrance, but when I asked to be helped, he dismissively told me to move aside so he could grab a piece of paper from the reception desk. Service here is nonexistant.

Not only do they provide a wide selection of sushi pieces, the quality is consistent as is the friendly, attentive staff. The owner is super sweet and can be seen there almost daily helping with the expediting of the food through the kitchen. There is something for everyone on this menu, and the restaurant and menu is family-friendly. Be sure to make reservations as it does get busy later in the evening for dinner service.

Food is excellent. It’s our go to for sushi / Japanese food. But lately pickup is horrible. Always over an hour after we put in the order. And when we get there, we still have to wait 20-30 min. Almost feel like they start making our order when we arrived and checked in. We always called and ordered directly with them. DoorDash food however always waiting to be picked up. Which is odd as they should be making more money with direct call in. Anyway, we may try order through DoorDash or have to look elsewhere

I placed a order on door dash for this place. Already I was a little unhappy because when I wanted to call in about a possible second order that we would place they never picked up. I tried calling 5 times and it went to voicemail every time. The order was still set to arrive in a hour. We had to order for a big group and wanted to place a second order but the door dash system for the place was closed at that point but there restaurant was going to remain open for a few more hours. We just decided to door dash another sushi place and that order was supposed to take longer to get here. The second place delivered faster then the first and after waiting for 2 hours without being able to call in and contact the actual store to check on the order. They canceled it. It was 10:00 at this point. Just wished they had canceled earlier because I was left with a group of hungry people waiting for food.

Prices on sushi can he kind of high but I have always found the fish to be a generous portion. Their selection is good and they have a few specialty sushi that are good. Picture menu for rolls describing whats in them.I have had no real problems here except for one. They are kind of slow on getting diners orders and drinks. I have never received an incorrect item but sometimes it takes them a few to get in the swing of things.

I love this place. They got their interior design right, and their sushi is simply amazing. Youll certainly spend quite a bit of money here but in return you get some of the freshest sushi in San Jose. Their roles are creative and presented nicely. They go light on sauces but use natural ingredients to add flavor. They serve some good beers and sake as well and the service is always friendly and quick. You can also make a reservation here so you dont have to stand and wait forever in line. Great place for sushi.

My favorite bento box in Campbell !! We have been eating here for many years and I love it. I wish they sold jars of their miso salad dressing as I have not been able to duplicate it. My son gets the sushi and he loves it. It truly is an art. Say hello to the sushi guys, they are nice & funny. Im not into sushi but people in my group LOVED it! I was undecided between Bento box and Donburi (similar to Bento but serve in dish) but tried Donburi spicy tofu - surprisingly good! We’ve been there two times. First time we had to wait 30 minutes just to discover that a waiter forgot to place our order. Then he just said - I’m sorry, please wait a bit more. So we do, because our friends recommended that place. Food was about average.We decided to try again next time. But when we came in, no one served us or asked do we want a table. We waited for some time and leave.Two stars only for not poisonous food. Horrible service.Note to the owner: the people who serve your guests are the key to the success. First noticeable thing they are busy at dinner time at least few times I happened to dined there. For being busy, it seemed you didnt have wait very long even though there was 3 or more parties consistent on wait list. With parties of 10 at door. 5 minute wait for me I was 3rd on list. So for that kudos to servers and sushi chefs to dish washers as you say down to waiting for check they operated very efficiently. I had bento teriyaki beef and it was good but not super impressed. And then again I only had a handful of things of the menu few times Ive been here. Cheers.

Lots of creative and interesting rolls, but when it came down to flavor and execution it was just mediocre. Ive been twice and both times the sushi rice was dry and unseasoned and the sushi was not well rolled or cut. Fish is fresh and portions are good sized. Service is mediocre at best.

The price of the sushi isnt outrageous, but its not cheap either. I got the bib bomb and it was pretty damn good. The photo looks like 4 pieces of sushi, but its actually 2 pieces bunched together to make look big, you still get 8 pieces total. This roll had all my favorite meats in one roll. Ive never seen it made any where else.

I understood that on Valentines Day that it would be very busy however by the time my group was seated there were 3 other tables who were seated after us & got their full meals & were adding to their meal order before our order was even taken. The fish here is consistently good, the service is always on point, and their grilled squid is some of the best Ive ever had. Their toro is deliciously melt-in-your mouth, and they have real wasabi, which is quite a different experience from the usual horseradish based wasabi that you might be used to. The menu has a huge selection of rolls, but I am personally extremely fond of their deluxe chirashi, which is just one of the many non-roll sushi options they have.I dont think Ive yet been disappointed with this place after many visits.

Been here quite a few times, during which it has changed ownership - possibly more than once (at least, the restaurant name changed). Sometimes it was great, with courteous and fast service and great food. A few times they even treated us to free dessert. I recommended the place to friends and have brought other families over several times.Then again, sometimes it was not so great. We ordered the mixed tempura, cherry blossom, put you hands up, and the assorted sashimi. The tempura was undercooked and wasnt as crispy as Id hoped. The sashimi did melt in my mouth but the size of each piece was underwhelming. The cherry blossom was my favorite with a good amount of tuna on the outside and salmon inside. The put your hands up was a disappointment as the spicy sauce overpowered the flavor of the fish. My family and I have been going here for so long. Ever since the name of the restaurant was Sato. I believe, however, that it still has the same owner, since his wife still works there. The food is fantastic and so is their service! I recommend the chirashi (scattered sushi) on the menu. They include pickeled vegetables on theres which seems to be rare for sushi restaurants in this area. I also believe anyone visting for their first time should get Toro (fatty tuna sashimi). Its the best raw fish on the menu.

Tons of variety in rolls, and a lot of creativity beyond the 10 or so basic ones that many restaurants offer. The a la carte nigiri is a bit more expensive than most but the lunch and dinner combos make up for that and are not too expensive if you dont mind going with chefs choice of fish. The sashimi combo I got came with BIG slices of fish, 2 -3 bites each unless youre a shameful animal like me and you eat the entire chunk in one bite because its delicious. Something to note, they have two combos, one is standard and one is special, special means it comes with uni. The uni was sweet and fresh, very good.Also, there used to be a very friendly cat who hung out in the front of the building. Not sure if hes still around (I went at 5:30 pm last time and it was hot/sunny out front), but if you arrive after dark and have to wait, petting a nice neighborhood cat was one of the things that makes this place unique.

Kaizen is my favorite moderately priced sushi place in the area. The following are some of the things I feel differentiate Kaizen from other places in the area: (1) Tempura udon: Tempura is less bready and thick than many comparably priced restaurants. They seem to use potato or tapioca starch for lightness, and I appreciate the different varieties of vegetables based on seasonality and availability. They use excellent udon with a more al dente toothsome texture than standard places. (2) Sushi: Nigiri is sizable, maybe a little too large, but expertly cut and fresh tasting. Rice texture and flavor is consistently good. Condiments are high quality, with a nice mix of traditional and inventive. I appreciate that they provide real wasabi on request (for a nominal charge) and have two types: freshly grated root and seasoned stem. The specialty rolls are huge, and they appear creative and not just a mix of random fish that may or may not actually taste good. Ikura is less salty here, which I enjoy. They often have fresh seasonal specials and live shellfish. I only wish more fish was sustainably sourced, but there are no 100% sustainable sushi places in the south bay or the peninsula. :-( Nice decor with slate accents throughout, and wonderful staff. While I cant speak to the cleanliness of the mens room, the womens restroom was spotless and they have a Toto washlet. So cool!

Good food. I likes the spicy pork. Miso soup could use some aka miso and wakame in it.
