Amazing Filipino food! Love their services and atmosphere as well. We were there to celebrate a friends birthday and they would give you a free dessert and play a birthday song for you. The staff was dancing so enthusiastically. Great experience overall!

Just like Auntie makes it at a get together. Sisig, pinakbut,inasal,carabasa veggies, lumpia Shanghai, garlic rice, and halo halo. Good Filipino food. The only one that had a minor low was the inasal a bit dry.

Our go-to Filipino restaurant when we visit the Bay Area! We’re a party of four & ordered 6 delicious meals! Maybe they can do better on the sizzling pork sisig? I mean let’s Google Filipino original sisigs ingredients? Also, be aware of the gratuity already added on the bill for party of four. Anyways, highly recommended!

I absolutely love this restaurant. Ive been a handful of times now. The portions are large, the dishes are delicious (they are the same from home!), the location is fairly safe, the restaurant is clean and the service is impeccable. I love eating here. My favorite is lechon kawali, the Turon and the halo halo! Ive had several of their other dishes and have been quite satisfied. The pancit bihon I thought could use some extra flavor, but it was still pretty good. It is a little bit expensive, so I only come in when celebrating something. Pretty good still!

I really enjoyed their bulalo! Happy I found this place finally. The serving size is massive. The bowl in the picture is roughly a fourth. They are excellent in preparing for takeout orders like mine. Packing up soup is tricky...the attention to detail sets them apart.Support your local restaurants!

Lunch was busy on a Sunday at 12 noon. Wait was 15 mins. even w/ reservation. Food was authentic Filipino--tasty, rich and serving was just right for 4 people. Very good service. It just got pretty noisy with birthday celebrations back to back singing. Definitely recommend this place for real Filipino cuisine.

Worst Filipino food Ive ever had in my life. The sisig was made with pork meat, no pork ears or any of the cartilage, it was very tough meat and Im 100% sure that it was reheated. The bangus belly sinigang had 0 belly whatsoever. See the picture below. ALL of the veggies were undercooked and Im pretty sure they just used some instant soup mix, put the veggies in and served it raw. Would NOT recommend this place. Worst Filipino restaurant Ive ever been to.

Had a wonderful family dinner at Kalesa. We’ve enjoyed their cuisine as take-out during earlier family gatherings. This time we decided to dine in. Thankfully there were 9 of us as this allowed is to sample a good number of appetizers and entrees. We were not disappointed. The plus was the very friendly and courteous service. Highly recommended! We’ll be back.

This is one of the first sit down Filipino restaurants Ive been to. The staff are themed to the Filipino atmosphere. I ordered sagot gulaman, fried calamari, and a fish lunch special. The sagot gulaman was very sweet and had a lot of shaved ice on the top. The calamari sauces were good and the breading was good, but it was very oily and difficult to finish. The fish lunch special was okay, the fish wasnt the tastiest and it just had sweet and sour sauce on top. Perhaps the other dishes that are more traditional are better. Also, they played nothing but Ed Sheeran music.

This was my first time trying Filipino food. I approached the occasion with minimal expectations and found the service to be friendly and prompt. The meal I selected was based on a picture in the menu. The portion was large and I enjoyed the overall flavor. The only disappointment was the disproportionate ratio of rice noodles to meat. It was heavy on the rice and a little too sparse on the chicken and shrimp.

Ive heard people raving about this restaurant so I went for their Sunday breakfast buffet but was expecting a lot more. The variety of dishes served is a plus but for a Filipino restaurant, one expects a lot more flavor as many of the dishes served tasted bland. A dash of salt will definitely help. The bright side though is less sodium is healthier.

This restaurant was recommended by family as one of the best Filipino establishments in the Bay area. The restaurant itself is quite large, and the decor is quite nice, giving a touch of class to the dining experience, something that I have not experienced at other Filipino restaurants that Ive been to.The menu is quite extensive, and there are a lot of staples and also some dishes that were unique to Kalesa. We ordered the Ukoy, Kare Kare, Sizzling Pork Sisig, Sizzling Bangus Sisig and the Pinakbet.The Ukoy, which is a vegetable and shrimp fried patty, was excellent. Crispy and flavourful and was not greasy as found in other establishments. The Kare Kare, a peanut based oxtail and vegetable stew, also had amazing flavour. The stew was thick and there was a great balance of flavour, nothing too overpowering, and the oxtail was tender. Both sizzling Sisig dishes were crispy, had a touch of spice and tasted amazing paired with garlic rice. Lastly the Pinakbet, a mix of vegetables like eggplant, and Okra, was a perfect compliment to lighten up the overall meal.The service was fast and friendly, and the parking is plentiful. The only negative was that the washrooms were a little disorderly and not clean. Overall a nice experience and highly recommended, especially if you have not experienced Filipino cuisine.

My parents brought back food from here. I heated dinuguan, palabok, lumpia Shanghai, lechon kawali and a little rice. I even squeezed a bit of lemon on the pancit. The dinuguan was salty and the meat chewy/dry. I guess I am use to other meat being used in a dinuguan. The palabok was salty as well even with lemon, the shrimp looked flat and quarter size. Admittedly, I probably should have toasted the lechon and lumpia to get back the crispiness. Needless to say I was disappointed. This restaurant is supposedly the gold standard, what happened?

We ordered lechon for my son’s birthday last 7/24/21 but we were so disappointed because the belly part is not fully cooked. Picture #1 and 2 the pictures speaks for it self, 🤣 #3 picture it looks good only on top because you can’t see the belly part .We paid 400$ but it’s not worth it. I don’t recommend to order lechon from Kalesa.

Sarap ulam.Side note: check your bill as i almost included an extra 20% tip on my party of 4.The 20% tip was included on the bill but on the merchant copy to sign, there is a tip line included. I think their POS should be updated to take that tip line item off the merchant signature copy.Just beware to always look at your receipts for merchants adding the extra tip item when it is already included.

Kalesa is a standout sit down Filipino restaurant outside of Daly City. It’s nice to have something not turo-turo (not that there’s anything wrong with that). They’re popular with sisig because it’s not mostly made of guts but grilled beef. Sinigang is delicious too! Very dependable as well for big orders. Their party platters are always a hit!

If you are not phillipino and go there around 7pm they will serve you not politely. I just went there yesterday, from the entrance when i talked to the old lady server that we are 3, she never mentioned any words just pointed one table to sit. When she gave us menu she didn’t say any words, didn’t see us just put the menu and left.Young guy server was kind. But I really don’t understand why she was kind of rude to us because we didn’t do anything wrong. She was talking to other tables and asked about their meals so I just think because we are not phillipino or because we went there 7pm made her upset? I don’t know.Personally I have nostalgia to the Philippines. Around 10years ago I studied there for a couple of months and enjoyed staying there. Only bad was the bagoong alamang was sooo salty, tasted terrible made the karekare taste bad. Would eat the karekare by itself. Chicharon bulakalak, crispy pata, pansit and Sinigang. Food continues to be delicious and consistent. What you need to know when eating here is that if youre a party of 3 or more, be prepared to pay gratuity.We were caught off guard after receiving our ticket with 20% gratuity tacked onto the bill. I had to explain to my daughter that its not the amount of food that you order which determines the gratuity, but rather size of your party.3 -4 in your party = 18%5 or more = 20%Quite disappointed in this. I think all gratuity should be determined by quality of service which was pretty good but not 20%. We werent having a large birthday party like the folks currently next to us. They have about 15 in their group.To make matters worse, they add a section for tip on top of the receipt even though you were just forced to pay a gratuity. Isnt the gratuity already part of the tip? ‍

Its one of the better Filipino cuisine restaurants around. The food is great- although its traditionally very salty. The pictures on the menu does not necessarily reflect the actual look of the food that you order. So ask if whats on the picture is included. The customer service is good. Just watch your bill - if you have a party of 6 or more the 15% gratuity is included in the bill. When you get the receipt where you need to sign-there is another line that asks for tip. So you might tip twice. Enjoy.

After being seated, 15 - 20 minutes passed and nobody came to my table to take my order. The lady who seated me felt bad and was willing to take my order but Ive lost interest by then. They need more staff especially on weekends. I can hear them turning down phone orders because the kitchen was backed up. Being so busy is a great thing especially in the restaurant business. My family drives 65 miles round trip to eat here. They have the best ukoy Ive ever had (including experiences from 5+ trips to the Philippines) and a wide variety of meal choices. The weekend brunch buffet is a particularly good deal, but seeing as we live so far away, we dont tend to get here in time to take much advantage of it. Servers are highly personable - they remember my parents every time they come in - and the outfits are charming to those unfamiliar with traditional Filipino dress. As with most Filipino food, not recommended for vegetarian diets and certainly not vegan, but if authentic Filipino food is what youre after, there are few, if any, better choices in the Bay Area.Minor cons: theres sometimes a wait for seating and it can be loud, but you cant expect anything else with a restaurant full of Filipinos!

This is good. We were a large group who went for lunch after a family function. The back part of the restaurant was set up to handle multiple groups. Each group was managed well and staggered enough so it felt like we were getting individual attention. Shortly after we arrived appetizers appeared. Shortly after that, main dishes were served. I ordered crispy pata, guinataang langka, inihaw na baboy, Pancit bihon and 7 cups garlic rice through door dash. The crispy pasta is good, inihaw na baboy is not too bad according to my son, the guinatang langka is $20 not including tax of 9.25% - - a total disappointment and a real waste of money (sour tasting - my friends taste way better than theirs). I ended up throwing it away...😡 The garlic fried rice is another big disappointment - - I paid $17.50 not including the tax. Tasted soooooooo bland - it could use some salt. I have not tried the Pancit bihon - - I am not getting my hopes up. $122+ wasted... oh well. In fairness, I love their Kare-kare but not something to order for delivery or pick up since oxtail has big bones therefore you will mainly be paying for the bones for a 32 oz container; their menudo is a hit and miss, and their spaghetti is ok.

Their food is usually good, taste good, but this mornings breakfast was disappointing. EVERYTHING WAS COLD. I had to let them know that their sternos were all off. The aroz caldo, rice, eggs, kare kare, everything was cold. Im used to having a hot breakfast. The coffee as well as the hot cocoa was cold. We did end up telling them & thats when they started turning on the sternos, but didnt do anything about the cold coffee.

Bad customer service. I was placed on hold over the phone for 45 mins and I can hear them on the line they are picking up other calls and placing an order. I went there to order personally while Im on hold on the phone and I saw they were just ignoring the phone where I was on hold.
