Very nice food in a kitschy restaurant done up to look like a Russian house. There are lots of cute tchatckis everywhere. Staff was very attentive and polite. The food was well portioned, flavorful and interesting. Definitely worth the visit.

Such a wonderful surprise! Clean as a whistle...this little Russian Restaurant puts out the most delisous 5☆+ food!For openers, youre served great bread! With a yummy dip.Kind servers are there to please.Portions are very ample...leftovers reheat beautifully.I was so glad they were there...I was having a very rough night...needed a quiet lay-over to gather my thoughts and have a good meal before venturing on.

Great little place serving really good Russian cuisine. This is my second time here, and each time has been quite tasty. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly, and even had an accordion player (which was a tad loud in a smallish place, but certainly added to the atmosphere). Outside seating is also available.

Borscht was not good 2*, a really weird taste of broth with a sauerkraut, just sour water with a couple sliced potatoes and one hard piece of meat. Lamb chops were much better than pork kebab 4*. Pork kebab is too fat and hard to eat 3*, wouldnt recommend this. Honestly, I wouldnt recommend this place. You can find better places over there.
This place is something! Order 3 type of meat lamb was amazing 5*! Pork was like %60 fat on it and little overcooked 3* for USSR but 6*for domestics LA restaurants . Chicken was good 4*. Fried potatoes is not edible 1*. But marsh potatoes was 4* Borsh was frkn amazing 😋 5*. Salads is 5* Kvasssss 5**Staff was noce and friendly!Actually this place can provide very good Russian food experience 👌 but its hard to not drink via eating those meals....so live your car home😅

Very convenient with a large parking right in front. Very clean, including restrooms! Great care from all staff members, includes chasing clients in order to return belongings they left behind. Food is exactly what to expect from Russian traditional, plus great additions (horseradish which came with the veil tong salad was amazing ). Definitely recommend.
Recently we got a chance to try something different, and for us, that was Russian food. Oh… my… God! I had no idea that Russian food could be so awesome! Everything from the beverages to the quaint décor. Never been to Russia, but plan to go. What a great opportunity to try some amazing food. What a great restaurant! The food was amazing. We were a large group so we all had the opportunity to practically try everything on the menu and we were very much impressed with how tasty everything was. Definitely recommend it and looking forward to going back.
Simple and clean design inviting of a casual presence. Relaxing music helps you enjoy the food all the much more. And the food itself is just delicious. I have not had Russian cuisine but this really does invite my taste buds to that world. Service is kind and pleasant to top it off and definitely a place I’d love to bring my date to.
Had a family style dinner and had the ability to try many dishes. While everything was excellent, the standouts were the Katchapuri (cheese bread), beef stroganoff, and the blintz dessert. You really cannot go wrong. Lovely flavors in each dish. The service was good and not overbearing. European pace.
I never had Russian cuisine before, so I didnt know what to expect. The food was quite tasty. Its pricey for lunch. I think that they should add some moderately priced lunch specials and the place would fill up fast.
Delicious Borscht👍nice waitress. I didnt like the Solyanka soup👎tasteless, which I told the waiter about. why dont you suggest changing the dish for another ....the guest will be satisfied and a completely different impression will remain. We come to the restaurant to enjoy food and have a good time, and not vice versa.
Great place with amazing food. The waitress speaks Russian and is very nice, explaining what each dish is. We tried a few different types of dishes and they were all delicious. I would definitely recommend.
The quality of the food is not as good as it was before. I feel like the prices were much higher too. I am not sure what’s going on but the only reason you get 2 stars instead of 1 is the waitress. Service was great, the rest not even close. Shame, I used to like this place.

Amazing food. From the salads to the entree’s, everything was delicious. You can tell that the chef cares about what they’re serving.I recommend the Kalinka salad, pickled veggies, cured pork fat, pelmeni, sauteed mushrooms, beef stroganoff with fries, pork jarkoe, the cornish hen tabaka, and the pork kebab.We’ll be back!
Came here after I couldnt get reservations at Traktir. Borscht was good but seemed as though it was microwaved as it became cold very soon after being pretty hot. The pelmeni were delicious and served in a rich butter sauce. The chicken kebab was great and it came with fried potatoes, a flat bread, and some veggies. Kompot tasted more tea-like than Im used to, and I missed having fruit on the bottom. Our server Madina was courteous and made us feel welcome. I give it 3.7 stars out of 5 but Ill round it up to a 4.

Was good! The apple pie was very fancy and good. Our server was very nice and helpful (we had a lot of questions). Some vegetarian options (not labelled that way, you should ask). Heads up if you are vegetarian-- the Olivie Salad has chicken. (I thought it was a typo for olive I was wrong! 🤣)

We drove 45 minutes to dine at this restaurant. Although food was delicious,my food was brought to our table right away, but we had to wait over 25 minutes for my husbands dinner to arrive. Even though the chicken kotleti were hot, his fried potatoes were lukewarm. I finished my meal 15 minutes before my husbands dinner was even brought to our table. Very disappointing. We would have preferred eating our dinners together.Our waitress rarely checked on us even after we inquired about my husbands kotleti dinner. We had to ask the other waitress to refill our water glasses. Not sure if we will return. Great food, but poor service.
It was average experience. The food quality is average, portions arent generous as posted on Yelp.The food presented doesnt Look anything like the Glamour shots posted. Ownership must have changed hands and standards have been lowered. I went for the dumplings (sorry, name of dish eludes me) but there were under the size of a ping pong ball. Tiny.., the server did reiterate that point. They are small. Normally they are size of tangerine. I wish, I could rate higher, but this is what I have to report.

Definitely the best Russian restaurant in Los Angeles. We were at Kalinka on March 16th with a party of six people. Some of the dishes we tried included: Beef Stroganoff, Fish, Temuri, Salad, and various appetizers; everything was extremely delicious. The Russian black bread and the white bread was unbelievably good, as they prepare it with the best ingredients, just like all their dishes. The staff was very nice and Chef Tigran personally came out to greet us at the end. Chef Tigran is extremely detailed in his work and he shows a commitment to quality that is hard to find in most restaurants. A true gem in Glendale and we left overwhelmingly happy and satisfied. We will definitely return.
Quaint little spot. Easy to miss and not a lot of parking around dinner time. Will be going back. The flavors are wonderful. Be careful on the fish as they have bones that you will have to pick out.

What a great new find in the Burbank-Glendale area. Homestyle cooking, delicious, prepared very well. Service is excellent and friendly! In a little strip mall with parking. Recommend eggplant caviar spread, sauteed vegetables appetizer, special kalinka (beef), chicken kotleti, homemade preserves dessert!

2023-09-11 17:43:24My son loves this place, so as a reward, we came in for an early dinner. The pel meni was excellent, as was the stroganoff with mashed potatoes. My son had the pork schnitzel, which was crispy and delicious. They were out of kavass.

2023-10-14 00:29:22We received spoiled food. Solyanka soup looked like porridge and stretched like jelly. The borsch was a heterogeneous mass, very fatty, with about a centimeter of oil on top. The photo shows that there is half an inch of oil on top of the borsch. The Beef Stroganofflooked inedible, like some weird meat porridge, and tasted terrible. All the food went in the trash. We called the restaurant and the girl I spoke with did not even apologize to us or offer to somehow resolve this issue, nor did she offer to return the money. We also did not receive a refund for the spoiled food.I suggested that the girl resolve the issue over the phone so as not to spoil the restaurant’s Google rating, after which we received an answer that it didn’t matter to her where we would write the review.

2023-05-08 05:35:32I came here on a Friday noon. Got the lunch special with pork schnitzel, cheese pierogi, and blintzes.The portion is fairly good. I like the creamy sauce of the schnitzel. The pork is crispy outside and tender inside. The kompot drink is very fruity and not too sweet. I also like the borscht soup with many spices.The pierogi itself doesn’t have much taste and goes well with the strawberry jam and cream. The bread tastes a bit sour and comes with smoky eggplant sauce.

The atmosphere is white tablecloths, tasteful modern whimical artwork ...mural of pattern that feels Russian...open spacious romantic too. Theres also al fresco dining.....prices expensive even at lunch...but a lovely dining experience...as for service...well we were the only two people for lunch at 12:30 on a Monday...but we had very model-pretty woman with a bemused expression....

I especially loved the dumplings - they were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The decor was lovely and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. My guest ordered borsch and said it was too sour to his taste. I’ve got Olivie salad and it was heavily overstuffed with mayonnaise. Also ordered pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and gravy — it was OK but again kinda blank. I’d give 3 stars for the food, but the place was cute and clean, and the service was good too.

Menu is great, a little of everything. The hot borscht was excellent. Their bread with yummy eggplant spread was diva! The beef stroganoff was delish. Service was superb. We all raved about the food and will return. Amazing food and night!

Exotic dining experience. Our waitress made sure our time was fulfilled from the moment we sat down until we left. You don’t see that many restaurants with this kind of service. Can’t wait until we come again.
