We were driving around trying to find a place for dinner. Drove by here and decided to try it out. There’s a small parking lot for the shopping center. The restaurant sushi bar was busy but a table was available immediately. It was good service and server courteous. There’s push button service there but the server was attentive and we didn’t use it.

Food was good. Nothing special but a good place to drop $100 of mediocre sushi. I feel like investing in a hospitality course for their entire team. Definitely did not feel welcomed in this establishment and so the food just wasn’t worth it. I think there are many more options for dinner that meet the expectation of good food and service. They might as will have “Japanese patrons only” at the door.

A definite “pay for what you get” here. If your a sushi connoisseur, don’t miss out you will not be disappointed.The fish is real fresh and all made by hand right in front of you.You’re not getting teriyaki chicken at Kanpachi, it’s all sushi all the time.

Super authentic. Small menu where everything is excellent. The sushi is always fresh and perfectly prepared. I always look forward to the shrimp head in the miso soup and steamed egg.

When I go there, they only offer take-out. I brought my own lunch box so I asked them to put food in my box. The quality was overall good, given this price. However, the lotus root and tree fungus are too sweet for me. The chief is a nice Japanese person. Good service and I felt peaceful from him.

Absolutely amazing omakase and always warm hospitality. The uni and hotategai is definitely my favourite but honestly everything is fresh, not to mention the great sake selection. Thank you always - can’t wait to come back !!!

Punching way above its weight. Your typical, little LA oddity in that it is located in an unremarkable strip mall that is surrounded by a city of thousands of unremarkable strip malls. The Sushi is an unexpectedly great surprise and the staff are pleasant. The old chef who served us(we sat at the bar) was typically humble and clearly proud of his artistry. Really good little find. One of the many such places spread out randomly that make life in a giant, strange place like LA so damn good to those who are willing to seek adventures in the seemingly mundane.

This is an authentic sushi place. Sushi is all they do, no ramen, no teriyaki chicken, no other American Japanese crossbreed stuff. Menu is simple, uncomplicated, and focused. The place is small, clean, gentle, it speaks quality.

My wife and I love this place. My wife is from Japan and the service and quality are up to her standards. I also think the quality is similar to that of Japan. Price is reasonable.We enjoy sitting at the counter and making small talk with the chefs ; its more lively. If you have a bigger group, a table may be better. You can order one piece at a time, but I would recommend the $50 omakase, you are letting the chefs give you what they know are the best dishes.I also love their fried fish stick and shrimp miso soup!

Decent Japanese sushi place in Gardena. Its a real Japanese sushi, not a fusion. My favorite one is Oshizushi. I am very happy that I can have same high quality sushi in here. Dont forget to orderMochi Ice before you finish.

The best sushi you can eat in town! The crowd is generally Japanese and there are many regulars which is a sign that the quality is good and the sushi as it should be.Brian, the chef, is friendly and experienced. We love coming here.

I really enjoyed my visit they let me in with no reservations and totally took me on a journey of style and flavor I believe I made a friend of the owner that day who also was my chef, I left with a smile and a full belly. All though I did want some more of the green tea icecream it was so delicious. Day before reservations are a must.

I saw this place when I was perusing Yelp, and decided to give it a shot. It was dinner time, and I was starving. So I made the drive over here from home, and fortunately there werent a lot of people here at the time.I sat at the bar, and ordered two rounds of sushi. The sushi was very delicious. One was a (real) crab roll, and the other was the rainbow roll. I can say the quality fit the price.The staff here was super friendly, and they were constantly refilling my glass of water. The sushi chef was warm and welcoming, and did a good job overall.I would recommend this place.

Very average indeed ! I was expecting a much better experience from food to attitude from Sushi Man ! I guess I’m still living in the past & how I used to be treated treated by Kido San the original owner of Kanpachi anchos team ! I don’t think this Kanpachi have anything to do with the original Kanpachi’s food but everything to do with Sen Nari indeed which is fine with me! The only reason I stopped u. R side the nice story about how new owner took over and was trained by Kido San .

Amazing experience!! This used to be sennari sushi, and for the most part it still is. A lot of the staff are the same. The overall decor hasnt changed, but if you have been here before, there was a lot of little changes that when added up, really made for great things!! If you never went to sennari before, this was definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in South bay, and with the new owners and the little changes this place is even better!! Sit at the bar with Takei-san for amazing customer service and interaction. If you have a great experience, make sure to buy him a beer!!

Best sushi in town. Fish is always fresh and rich in flavor. High quality sushi.Price is higher, but you eat what you pay for. And yes sushi is what they do. I am surprised of some reviews complaining about that. You want a good sushi place, you go to place who specialize in it.

Wow!!!! Once you walk in side its just like being in Tokyo. Great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Sushi was ultra fresh and done very well. I am in Tokyo quite a bit and as I said this place rivals a lot of izakayas over there

One of my favorite sushi spots in the Gardena/Torrance area. Quality is very good and the omakase is reasonably priced for what you get.Their バッテラ is the best in South Bay imo.

I live in Tokyo and occasionally go to Kanpachi head office in Tokyo Ginza. LAs Kanpachi is the best quality sushi restaurant I know overseas, although it is not always possible to prepare the same fish as Tokyo. It was very appropriate to have a 92-year-old uncles birthday party here in LA . There are several other great sushi restaurants in LA.　KANPACHI is very good.

April 2023I went for the first time in 2 years! From ★5 to 4. . The quality of the fish is 4 for the price. The customer service was good, but the person answering the phone was scary. 🥶The rice was delicious!2021It was very carefully made and delicious. The size of the fillet is just right and easy to eat. About $15 each? was. The staff at the store were also very friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
