Dinner reservations are required and the omakase is always great here for the value and service. Its a perfect hole in the wall local sushi place thats worth coming to support the mom and pop business. Theyve been here for a long time and it shows in the quality of food and friendly service.

One of my favorite spots in Torrance for quality sushi.They’re typically open for lunch, close for a break, then reopen for omakase-only dinner. However for COVID, they’ve established a takeout only menu that features what you’d usually find on the lunch menu!My absolute favorite thing to order is the $25 sushi supreme. 10 piece nigiri, and either California or spicy tuna roll. Served with miso soup and salad. The quality of the sushi is great for the price, and I’m always full and happy after. My only feedback would be to use less rice in the nigiri.I’ve also done the $50 omakase dinner multiple times. again, I think omakase at this price and quality is unmatched. So many courses, dishes are straightforward but top quality, and you leave STUFFED.

We started out the meal with salad and cucumber & tuna. We then proceeded with a sashimi plate, 10 pieces of DELICIOUS sushi, 1 hand roll, soup, & finally ice cream.

Absolutely wonderful Omakase meal. The chef is a magician with fish and I highly recommend the Tengumai Junmai Daiginjo 50 to pair. Its what the chef drinks at home.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in the United States hands down. So good and a hidden gem. I love the mom and pop sushi restaurant. I always leave feeling Ive had one of my best meals.

Kantaro is unique Japanese place that only serve omakase and very good at that. Kantaro is behind the counter and his wife is serving tables. Quality of the food is very good and she explains where they are from. Price is another story. For $55 its a great steal. Also sake is very good price.

We really enjoyed dinner at kantaro. I called earlier and he said that he had opening at 5.30pm which is what we wanted. For price its a great deal, quality of the food is great also. Service is great too. Sometimes your choice can be limited specially omakase is set according to chefs choice. But it will be hard to fine something this quality for this price anywhere.

Still the best omakase bargain in the south bay. The presentations are nice on the traditional side and the highlight is still the karaage fish. The chef is a man of few words until youve been there a few times. He doesnt drink. His wife is the waitress and she names the seafood and where it came from. A great family run local place. On weekends reservations are required and omakase is the only menu item besides beer and sake.

This place is a little gem tucked into the back of a quiet, unassuming piece of strip mall and its a crime theyre not getting more customers. The omokase was incredible and worth the money. Go! Keep this place open forever! Its awesome.

Twas a rainy day in a ghetto sketch business plaza. Waiting for my late amigos I wander into the liquor store and down a beer. (Food taste so much better with c2h5oh(anything molecule ending in an OH is an alcohol))First up was the Sashimi Plate of Black Seabass in which they only used one side (the other side is then deep fried later on the night)Ask them for the yuzu pepper, its so TASTY!Everything was delicious and the only thing I could say that didnt quite live up with my standards was the Tuna. I had both better Toro Tuna and Lean Tuna elsewhere. Service is wonderful, our server always served us with a smile =]The only thing I wish they had more of was the Salmon. The only piece of salmon was a their take on a rainbow roll where they had purple rice.All and all, this is a great place to take someone. Weekends require reservations!TL:DRGuys take a girl here on a date, its a very nice place!

Fish was fresh and clean! This is as close to authentic sushi as you can get! I cant stand these new all you can eat sushi joints that are nothing but imitation crabmeat! We had sashimi on rice and 2 sushi combo plates and the quality was beyond excellent. TGreat customer service as well!

WOW! This place is something else, if you love Japanese food, Sashimi and nigiri sushi, this is the best place Ive ever been in USA! One chef, one server, both are Japanese, family owned place. I dont think they have a menu, Omakase only (chefs special). Reservations only, sometimes you have to reserve a more than a day in advance. The chef buys everything fresh only by the amount of people reserved for that day! Im not gonna go into details on the dishes because they are served as a story I guess, they even use different kind of rice depending on the fish or the dish! Well worth the drive if you live far from this place. Also they filmed one of the Friday movies in this plaza.

I will not return: hair in the ginger, our table didnt get any water only tea (while other tables got both) sushi rolls were averageeel roll was below average. If dirty carpet flooring is a negative stay away.The octopus cucumber salad was good.

I had the Omakase (Leave It to Us) special, which is a delicious, cleverly devised course. Briefly: a small salad leads flounder and tuna sashimi, followed by a selection of sushi and sashimi, some which require a little instruction from the chef (a squeeze of lemon on this one, no soy sauce); the rest of the flounder comes back deep fried; more sushi, and a selection of items garnished with the head of a shrimp, which you may elect to have fried or made into a miso soup; finally a scoop of red bean or green tea ice cream which you may or may not be too full to finish. Our hosts were very welcoming, offering excellent service and a share in their enjoyment of some Japanese TV, in view of the bar. Ill come back here for a special occasion, though the prices were very reasonable.

The omakase course was very delicious! ! Although the price is reasonable, the fish is very fresh and delicious! ! You can eat your fill! After eating the sea bream sashimi, you can fry the remaining parts and enjoy the deliciousness down to the bones! The shrimp heads on the seafood flyer can be used to make miso soup or fried chicken! Even the last dessert, the azuki bean and matcha ice cream, was delicious. It looks like a sushi restaurant run by a husband and wife. The customer service was very polite and kind, which warmed my heart ✨ Its always crowded, so reservations are essential.
