Beautiful building/interior.Heat lamps by the tables outside. Good sushi, tasted fresh. Loved the eggplant app.Good service.Lots of steps to get up to the restaurant, I dont know if they have an elevator available. We ate dinner outside and it was a vibe, and nice to enjoy the LA scenery.

Warm Atmosphere and great Service!The Sea bass Miso Popcorn alternative for Shrimp was delicious!!The Spicy Tuna.. Amazing!!The Kosher Lambs (Really Tasty) made kind of no sense next to the smashed potatoes since it’s made with butter. Quality is top aim here!Make a reservation if you can, it could be super busy here.Walked in and all staff were very nice and smiling! The interior is decorated in a modern Japanese style. The dining room is spacious and well-lit, and there is also a large patio with outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to make recommendations. They are also very efficient, and your food will arrive promptly. I enjoyed being there/

Absolutely in Love with Kataana . Located in the heart of Hollywood. Serves the best sushi and rotata Yaki and Japanese cuisine on the Senset strip. In side dining mood set is sexy and sleek for a more intimate dining experience. Outdoor patio dining provides a gorgeous view of the Sunset strip with music the Ambiance is definitely welcoming and assuring you your are in what the best of California Dining is all about . They serve the finest high quality cuts of fish and steak. They serve a beautiful sea bass that is not on the menu . I definitely recommend. Its a must in dining experience . My first choice in Japanese cuisine.

Katana was the perfect place to go for a birthday!when we arrived there we’re happy birthday placards on our plates, which made me feel so special for my 25th.He good was delicious, and they surprised us with surprise shots and a molten chocolate lava cake.We sat outdoors by they made sure we didn’t get too chilly since there were heaters.The service was lovely as well.

We had a lovely time here last night. Amazing music, amazing vibes, our waiter David was so kind and chill and just all around a great person. The FOOD! So good. Very good Sushi and the skewers were yummy (I recommend the prime rib or sea bass). The cocktails were also nothing short of perfection. So glad we randomly stopped in randomly later in the evening after driving by and it catching out attention. Next time we are in LA, we look forward to coming back here. HIGHLY recommend.

Katana is the prime choice when staying in West Hollywood and surrounding areasWe have been there for two nights in a row and tasted almost everything on my menu and it was absolutely incredible experience both nights.The sushi 🍣 is outstandingly amazing, the chops, the chicken meatballs, the bass skewers, crab, shrimp all were super delicious and phenomenal in taste. If youre looking for a high end sushi bar, then this is the place to go. The vibe is amazing, both indoor and outdoor seating. It is in the heart of sunset blvd, close to all the clubs. I went for my graduation dinner and it exceeded my expectations. The sushi is fresh, tasty, and high quality fish. You can go to the bar and order drinks before your table is ready.

Came here this weekend for dinner, it was packed but service was still great. Got to meet the manager Chloe and she made sure we felt like VIPS for our first time there. Very underwhelming experience, nothing was great. We ordered ceviche, a rainbow roll and the short ribs. Of those items the short ribs were best. My friend also ordered a hot green tea and she actually had to send it back because it had such a weird flavor and it seem like that was not the waiters first time hearing that.

I came here for dinner on Sunday after a pool party across the street. My date and I got lucky as they were throwing an event with a special menu available, a DJ, and free rosé. There was a photo wall for pictures and a sweet lady named Zane taking Polaroids (adorable). The restaurant was busy and decorated beautifully. We were also lucky enough that we got to sit outside AND our server was great! We were able to meet the manager, Chloe, who made great recommendations on what to do for the rest of our time in LA—she even went so far as to give us her card for whenever we want to come back! Katana was fabulous and we have already started telling all of our friends about it for when they come to LA too.

I used to love coming here when I was in town working. I spent so much money in the years eating here almost everyday. I used to be friends with the bartender Sam and a couple other waitresses. The last time i went they had a new doorman and he refused to let me in because i had white sneakers on (fyi they were brand new). Meanwhile, he let four guys in with white sneakers. I work with comedians down at the comedy store so we used to frequent this place. I miss it, but have moved on since they hired the new doorman.

This restaurant is quite hip. The decor is very unique and the servers are very nice.The portion of the food is not as big so be aware, but the wine selection is quite delicious. Weve had a course of food and they were all yummy. Its location in West Hollywood precedes its reputation because youll see a lot of dressed up people coming out for dinner at this spot. The food takes a bit to come out as well so expect to be here at least an hour.

We recently dined at Katana restaurant with two groups of five, looking forward to a memorable evening of good food and pleasant company. Unfortunately, our experience at Katana was disappointing and frustrating.First, the food was nothing more than ordinary and certainly not worth the high prices charged at the restaurant. The sushi, in particular, was not as fresh as one would expect from a place that prides itself on its Japanese cuisine.Prior to our reservation, we called the restaurant to ensure that both of our groups could be seated at two tables close to each other. We were assured over the phone that this would be possible if we arrived a bit early. When we arrived early the hostess told us to wait a few minutes to be seated outside on two tables close to each other. However, a few minutes later the manger came and said one table had to be inside and the other outside, despite there being plenty of empty tables outside.The manager, Chloee, insisted that we can only sit together if we pay $80 per person which I’m so happy that we didn’t considering over rated food. Chloees attitude was rude and aggressive!!! After many back and forth arguments and an hour of waiting, we were finally seated outside but the two tables were placed in opposite corners while still there were plenty of empty tables. Chloee was determined to ruin our night with her unprofessional behavior.

Great Japanese restaurant on the Sunset Strip. Booking is recommended, especially on the weekend as it can get very busy.Our favourite spot is at the bar, as you can read the menu but nothing beats seeing you food being prepared and seeing what others are ordering. We did also find out that you can devise your own sushi rolls and the chefs will prepare to order, so let your imagination run wild - some people certainly did.There’s a wide selection of sake to choose from and the wines are reasonably priced.The staff are always friendly, no matter how busy it gets.Overall it’s very good value for the quality and setting, which see’s us returning every time we’re in town

For food, we started with the Miso Soup, right into the Edamame tossed in truffle oil, 👌, and the finisher: fall off the bone Baby Back Ribs. 🫠. But wait, there’s more, Tiramisu with a side of frothed Green Tea. All topped off with the excellent service we received and what a night! My wife and I had been looking forward to trying Katana for awhile. We have eaten at Sushi Roku for years and this was a logical place for us to dine since we were across the street staying at the Mondrian on Sunday night.They had it decorated for Halloween and it looked great. The interior of the restaurant and bar are well put together and the decor in general is hip and Hollywood. We sat at the bar and had Chase as our bartender. She was great. Attentive, conversational and very good at her job. We also met Pete who was the manager and I had some great conversations with him about various topics including hockey. Both of them really took care of us and it was appreciated.We ordered a variety of things since we wanted to try the entire menu basically. My wife wanted to try the Hanabi and it lived up to her expecations. It was fresh and not overly spicy. We tried 3 of their seafood skewers: Seabass, Black Miso Cod and Lobster. The Miso Cod was fantastic and pretty large for a skewer. The Lobster was a little overcooked but still flavorful and the Seabass was quite good. We added the Shiro Maguro which was done just right without being over-seared. The crispy onions were a nice accent and didnt drown out the dish. Sometimes, it looks like a pound of dried grass is dropped on these types of dishes to make them look bigger than they are. This was a perfect amount.I wanted to try some of the sushi so we ordered 2 pieces each of the Toro, Fluke and the Salmon. All 3 were good and the quality of the fish was on point.We rounded it out with 2 Baked Crab Rolls which were solid and had the right balance.Add in a couple of drinks and we were happy people. No doubt that we will return in the future. Thank you again to Katana for a great dinner.

Everything we tried here was fantastic. We had edamame, hanabi, sushi rolls, and brussel sprouts. The white lotus sushi roll was the best of the four we ate followed by the Katana roll. All were fantastic. The hanabi was incredible.One comment, when eating great food it helps to be able to taste the food if other senses aren’t overwhelmed and the music was quite loud…to the point it detracted from the flavor of the food (and the conversation we could have). This was the only downside of our visit. The service was great, our server did a great job keeping us happy with drinks too.

Wow ! I never had a better experience with staff Gina was her name I remember clearly. She went above and beyond making sure everyone was happy with the meal and drinks. The asparagus wrapped in filet mignon was my absolute favorite. I also had a #Fusion ( adult beverage) and a Roxberry .. very strong and delicious drinks 🍸 do not have more than 2 you will definitely need a designated driver. Only thing that was phenomenal was the steak; it was just ok.Really good sushi, got scallop nigiri and eel nigiri.The mochi was top 3 mochi Altho I’m not super familiar with it, maybe had 20 times.The popcorn shrimp app doesn’t look amazing but it tasted phenomenal. One of the best warm shrimp dishes I’ve had.Quail eggs, they’re liked over hard style normal eggs, pretty good!

We came here after a show at the Comedy Store. We wanted to go somewhere with an LA vibe and we definitely got it here. The vibe is just like a Vegas club. We were totally under dressed. Attended and helped plan a birthday celebration for close to 15 people, so there was a preset menu at $60 per person plus tip. First off, they had us at a very low table which was absolutely uncomfortable and we were outside. There should have been options because for $60 per person plus gratuity I think the customer should have an option to sit at a regular table versus practically sitting on the floor. The food just wasnt good. On the sushi the rice wasnt fresh by any means. The sushi was definitely not worth it. A high point...I do have to say that the customer service was great, unfortunately the experience wasnt.

Awful experience. I do not recommend. Trash service. I came in for a drink. I wanted to sit outside so I waited for a while and no one sat me down even though there were many staff members around. So I assumed I can sit and scan the barcode and order. I sat down and waited for someone’s attention. A waiter came over and I asked if I can just order a drink and no food. They said absolutely, I made my order and asked again if it’s fine if I just order one drink and no food, they again reassured that was fine. Another staff member came over and took my name and details for the system as I hadn’t made a reservation. Fine.I received my drink and was enjoying myself. Then, the hostess came over on a super aggressive tone and said I cannot sit here and it’s for people who order food. I explained that I already have my drink and no one said that was going to be an issue. She carried on speaking to me an a passive aggressive way and raised her voice that other tables started to look over. She then brought her manager even though I said I’ll move to the bar but it would have been nice to be told nicely. The manager came over and I just asked for my bill so I can leave. The orginal waiter that told me it was fine to just order a drink came back to have a go at me and said I needed to have “etiquette” and I needed to wait to be seated, and that if I did, he said I’d “have a much better time”

While the food was good it was not great, especially when taking the price into consideration.First let me just say the service from our waitress was awesome. However the uncomfortable feeling you get of being stared up and down (the LA appraisal) from the hostess and little Micky Mouse security is beyond unnecessary and a significant part of the 3 star rating.Another thing that contributed to this rating is the portions of the meal that we did not find adequate to the price or hyped “quality”.If you are looking for a trendy sushi spot that also appreciates the dollars you work hard to spend there, I suggest you try Yamashiro, and for sure will not receive the same level of disappointment as me and my family did tonight.

Service was initially slow. Drinks were great, only got the fusion twice but that was great. Dishes were very hit or miss. Wagyu goyza was definitely the best. Pork belly and tsukune yakitori skewers were good. Ribeye one was overcooked and bland. The shrimp scallop sizzling robata dish was pretty good but a little too sour and didnt come out sizzling anymore. Uni sushi was pretty good for the uni but the nori seaweed wrap was subpar and chewy. Jidori chicken was slightly overcooked. Got a free lava cake due to the service which was good. Overall pretty subpar for the price ($120 split, might as well go to Aburiya or Robata Jinya down the road) and service at first, but I do like the venue itself and would come back for maybe just for drinks and the gyoza. Parking is half off with validation.

This is a high end and rather expensive restaurant. Every now and then, the hostesses are very rude.For most part, the waiters ate actually pretty descent. Every time weve been there, and thats a lot of times, weve witnessed some sort of an issue with the hostesses. In most part, it seating arrangements. We were sitting outside at 5:45 pm on a Sunday and except another table, the whole place was open. A young couple with reservations for 6pm arrived and wanted to sit outside and the hostess refused to allow them to sit outside, so thei left. Before the couple, another group arrived who seemed to know there hostess and asked for a table outside and she took them to a nice table outside close to us. When I witnessed that, I approached the hostess and asked why she didnt sit the other couple outside as they requested and the hostess said that this other couple has made reservation for outside.Well, anyone whos been to Katana enough times, would knows that they dont accept any requests for outside sitting. Theyll tell you that its 1st come, 1st serve. As for their food and food presentation, its amazing.They have great quality food!!I compare Katana with some of the Hillstones restaurants thats in the same calibur, and NOT ever have I witnessed any disrespect to the customers. Even when they dont want to give you what you request, theyre very polite and somehow they make you feel still wanted.As for Katana, and if any of the management staff read this,I hope theyll do something about it.Yes, Katana has been around for a long time and their food is great but nowadays with new restaurants that could compete with Katana opening up every month, eventually people will stop going to Katana and I dont think thats what ther management wants.I encourage others that had witnessed disrespect fron this establishment to write about it so maybe they fix this issue.

I have always loved Katana and the food this time did not disappoint. We had the shishito peppers, lamb chop, crunchy tuna and the tuna jalapeño roll and everything was absolutely delicious and as always southern cali always comes through with the freshest fish. The service we received from Nicholas V as well as our encounter with the hostess was great, but the reason for 3 instead of 4 stars is due to the fact that when we got our bill, I noticed that they had added on a 4.5% WEHO labor surcharge because they do not pay their employees as much as other places. Excuse me?! As much money as Katana makes, you should be ashamed of yourselves for passing along the responsibility of paying your employees a fair and decent salary to the customer while lining your pockets with a nice paycheck. As a result, that makes me tip less as I usually add 20-25% to the total bill but when I see that you have already added your own percentage, well, then the tip will only be 15%. Instead of throwing this addition in customers faces, you should add $1-2 to your prices and be a bit more discreet. All in all, we own a business and we pay our employees insurance and benefits and would never, ever rely on our clients to foot their bill!

Upon entry we had to show covid cards which I thought was great. The gentlemen greeting us was really kind and wore a aweosme hat! I did not make any reservations on a Friday night and my friend and I got seated very quickly at the sushi bar (if you want a more quiet and intimate setting Id ask for seating inside). David was our sushi chef and he was super friendly and had great conversation with us as well. After our food orders were taken it was so quick how fast our food came out. The food was amazing! Sushi rolls were so fresh! from the rice to the fish and shrimp we ordered. If you dont know what to order first try the Katana Roll its their signature roll and its amazing! 🤩 👏🏾 We also tried the Robata grilled wagyu and it was my first time ever having it and wow was it so good! This last time I visited I couldnt make a reservation because the times were booked but I called and asked if me and my guests could sit at the bar. They accommodated us and it couldnt have been more perfect! The All Star game was on and the hubby and my besties husband wanted to watch it. We sat at the end of the bar where John (from Brooklyn, NY) was our bartender. He was such a breath of fresh air from other spots weve gone to - he was friendly, witty, and engaging. He made us custom cocktails to our tastes and recommended deelish eats. My favorites were the creamy garlic noodles, pan fried lobster tail, shrimp and scallops with truffle mashed potatoes, and the crispy tuna & white lotus rolls. Sooooo freaking fresh and tasty. However the manager made sure to give his friends sitting next to us a free desert sampler. Also, theres a lot of signs about dress code being enforced but its not. Hello possible (Black) katana visitors. i want to inform you what you are signing up for before you decide to reserve or even pop in to visit.I went to the restaurant, Katana, two Fridays ago and with a friend for the first time. before arriving, i was informed of the dress code. Upon arriving, I was met by one of the white guards with short brown hair (i expected this). he told us to wait a moment while they went to go grab some woman with brown hair (assuming a manager or something). they then proceeded to ask if they could touch me to feel my pants to see what fabric it was. they assumed the pants were silk, it was actually nylon. despite that fact, we still were allowed inside. clearly, they are not even familiar with fashion, yet attempt to uphold a standard they themselves are not knowledgeable about.coming here today, April 8, 2022 my friend and I came here and experienced something quite odd. we are aware Katana has a strict dress code (there is even a sign out front that states it). during my check in call with the host, they informed me that it was “upscale casual”. my friend and I naturally dressed appropriately. when we get to the front, we notice there are two people standing in front of us, one wearing denim jeans and a regular t-shirt, the other a Fashion Nova (short) jumper. behind them, two more people in a large group also wearing jeans, shorts with holes, and other clothing that quite frankly are not what I would think would be “upscale casual”. the only difference between myself and these other two groups was the fact that my friend and I are Black people and they were Caucasian people. All of them. Had I known that jean shorts with holes in them and a tank top were considered “upscale casual”, I would’ve tried less. though, I highly doubt since it appears that Black people are held to different standards here.

My local sushi place has far better sushi for half the price. For a nice restaurant, the server was very casual and not impressive. I hadn’t been back to Katana for a few years and I’m so glad that it was just as good as I remember. It’s always a hit and consistently amazing. My favorite items on the menu: yellowtail Serrano, popcorn shrimp, white lotus roll, hammer roll and the 3oz Wagyu. Definitely recommend this spot. Will be back soon!

On the weekends it is hard getting a table. I recommend to always make a reservation.They have outside sitting, inside bar and also a larger portion of the restaurant is actually in the back, where you can see the chefs.Drinks are good, the food is delicious, although it takes a along time to come out to the table.... I think the Miso soup is a bit pricey.Love this place. Chic, yummy and although the music is mellow, you will not get bored since it is easy meeting people here.Great for work dinner.

A fairly intense scene where even a reservation guarantees a 45 minute wait. The food was fine but not spectacular and the service was trying but not exceptional. The layout of the service bar right next to the host stand makes traffic jams inevitable. *Rating is for service* So we went on Saturday night. Made reservations for 1030. We got there at 1015 knowing we were early to grab a drink while we waited. The hostess told us it would be 15 min, okay sounds good, went to the bar and got a drink. The bartender was amazing, best service of the evening. Well, 1040 comes along, I ask the hostess if we are going to sit soon. We are cleaning the table she tells me. Okay sounds good. Back to the bar to wait, which is right next to hostess. 11pm comes, we ask the manager if we are going to sit soon. He mumbles something about being busy and walks away. 10 min later, 40 minutes after our reservation, we finally sit. We get some miso soup and order drinks. A large party (20 people) sits while we wait for our drinks. Waiter comes back and gives us drinks, takes our order. Okay, maybe its going better now. We get two of our orders, and finsh them in about 20 minutes. Waiting for the third, have to ask our serve where it is. 15 more minutes it comes out, mind you its sushi, nothing cooked. We finish, my lady asks for some ice cream, 15 more minutes to get that. Then, it takes forever to get our check and we had to find a manager to pay and leave. All in all, our sever saw us 3 times total. Both managers were very rude. If I had been wearing a D&G shirt I would have gotten better service, they cater to those that are wearing high end apparel, it was evident all night. We got there at 1015, with a reservation, and left at 1245, mind you, we were there to enjoy dinner and had plans after which we had to cancel.The food is amazing, go here if your okay with terrible service, unless you can rock those thousand dollar outfits, then youll get much better service.

The location is very central in West Hollywood, and the “building” housing the restaurant is quite monumental - so that’s totally a plus.When arriving I was expecting an experience that would mirror the exterior - I was surely mistaken.There’s a vibe of cool, well-dressed people waiting by the bar and I went to give my name at the reception, to be seated.We (2) had a reservation at 10:15, arrived at 10:14 - they told us to wait at the bar that someone would come get us.We waited for 20 min, seeing a lot of couples entering and not being asked to wait, before i went up to the girl at reception to ask about our table.She just normally told me that it wasn’t ready (when I say normal I mean normal, not even sorry or anything). I questioned if it was normal to have to wait even with a reservation - she told in the most emotionless way possible “yes, here is normal to wait for around an hour” “even with a reservation”.After ten minutes we were seated on the outside, under a window on a table that seemed improvised and was right in the way of all the waiters.We found menus on the table. No one came to greet us//welcome us for 20 min. We kept on asking for someone to come take our order and waiters seemed to be passing the task to one another and we even heard them “it’s not my responsibility” - which was quite uncomfortable.Finally a girl came, I expressed my miscontentment and she just resumed by saying “so you know what you’re gonna have?” (im laughing while I type this).The food: first I’d like to say that I’m a person used to paying for “the brand” so my view here is totally legitimate when I say I’ve never seen such overpriced food. Each dish on the menu (skewers more exactly) count only one unit of product - it’s crazy. When you don’t ask for more than one it even looks weird on the huge plate where it’s served.The wagyu (the most expensive one) was very good - but now thinking back at the price paid, and the quantity served for the same price it was totally overpriced.Desserts were amazing.In the end the waitress took out the water from our check for the “problems in the beginning” and I had to tip her 18% of the check for an awful service (gotta love America)All things considered, the food (expect desserts) don’t make it up for how bad they treat people.

We ate here for the first time last night and were very impressed. We came for the sushi and fell in love with the expansive grilled skewer menu. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly, from the sea bass to the wagyu beef. Usually a restaurant is able to excel only at one thing, but this place successfully creates top-notch grilled and cold items. The sea bream, Spanish mackerel, and tuna sushi were just as exciting and flavorful as the grilled items. The only thing we didn’t absolutely love was the tuna jalapeño roll, but we figured that was simply a result of being in the context of more exciting dishes.Most importantly - and the reason we came in the first place - is that the vast majority of the menu is gluten free. We’re talking 95% gluten free. Since I can’t eat gluten it’s nice to find a restaurant where I’m not limited to a few small salads. I wish every asian restaurant could discover what the management here has discovered: if you only use gluten free soy sauce at your restaurant, then you open up most of your menu to people who are gluten intolerant. And that’s what they did at katana. They only use gluten free soy sauce here.Another thing that is notable is the friendly staff. My friend and I joke that at Los Angeles restaurants, as price increases, service decreases. It always seems like the nicer, more expensive restaurants employ the coldest, least friendly employees. This is not the case at katana! From the hostess to the bartender to the servers to the food runners - everyone is so nice and friendly. The hiring manager here definitely has a keen eye for great employees.What we ordered for two people: grilled crab leg appetizer, grilled sea bass skewer, ribeye cap with Korean bulgogi sauce, sea bream sushi, Spanish mackerel sushi, tuna sushi, tuna jalapeño sushi roll, ribeye skewers, surf and turf skewers, and 3oz of wagyu beef. All are highly recommended, except the tuna jalapeño roll. And yeah, we over-ate because we were living for these flavors. Total cost with a couple beers (the beers were for my friend): about $300 before tip.

Terrible. Honestly I woke up this morning feeling like I got hustled. 90% of the fish I was served WAS NOT fresh. Fishy, old tasting. The yellowtail shashimi dish tasted like acid. The blue crab rolls, rancid. The gyoza was soggy as if it came out of a package and was microwaved. The service was poor, period. This place charges heavily for garbage. Its a tourist trap and frankly, NOT a very clean one.

Beautiful people is an understatement. My college roommate and I went here while on a weekend excursion from Scottsdale (06). After an amazing meal, and only ONE drink, we managed to court the two hottest girls either of us has ever picked up in our lives to date (my wife being the exception). Amazing staff with sushi Chef Chris, Chae our waiter who was very attentive and Raul, the manager really on top of things. The atmosphere is really cool and modern. Its always fun to dress up for date night.We loved sitting at the sushi bar and checking out the action, my favorite dish was the flute orange sashimi, the popcorn shrimp was yummy. My guy loved the pineapple, watermelon vodka cocktail.The Robata bar is great too, you can get some delicious small plates as well.Oh and dont forget dessert, however I do not recommend dessert after sashimi.

Had their ebi bites (bacon wrapped shrimp)... Amazing! Tried their clam, miso soup, which actually had real clams in the soho, but its very salty and huge... Couldnt finish it at all! Love their toro roll! A tad overpriced, but literally it melts in your mouth! This week we came twice. For Saturday night i made a reservation in advance for 9pm. We waited 45 minutes for the table. No one at hostess stand didnt even drop a sign of understanding the frustration. On Sunday night we didnt make a reservation because we know its usually not as busy. We asked for the table outside and we were advised of 25 minutes wait. After 25 minutes the hostess took us to inside area when we said that we requested outside table. INSTEAD OF JUST LISTENING AND SMALL APOLOGIES FOR MISUNDERSTANDING, the hostess started raising her voice that nothing is guaranteed and if we are not happy we can speak to the manager. We felt its bs but still sat down as we didnt want to wait longer. 3 minutes after the manager comes by with security saying that hostess told them that we had a problem and told her F... U. What??? We would NEVER NEVER say anything like that to anyone!!! So instead of asking us what happened, we got this accusing attitude. This is so embarrassing when manager comes with security to you without understanding what was going on and talking to customer. It was a very humiliating scene that we had to explain ourselves that we didnt F.. u anyone. And than honestly we just left. Because we wouldnt enjoy anymore no matter what the outcome would be.Im sorry that this place stopped caring about a customer as the name is still bringing the customers in, Definitely not the customer service.

Beautiful dining establishment with a fabulous balcony seating area; but looks can be deceiving...the numerous outdoor heaters are not enough to break-off the evening chill; the conceiere staff were quite pleasant, except mine. If you choose to dine and Amanda G is your assigned waitress, either exit the building quickly or request an alternate conceiere for your experience. My table was only handed menus and not offered an selection overview, food portions details or recommended selections. My Miso soup was brought to me with the top removed by Amanda as she continued to walk away, the problem was that Amanda also forgot to bring me a spoon, as if we are capable to eat a liquid soup with chopsticks!!! Fortunately for me, I laid my table plate over my soup until another tables conceiere satisfied my request.Beware, the menu is deceiving. When Amanda took my order, she never mentioned that I only ordered a squirrer of literally 3 shrimp pieces with no fancy garnish or even a lemon wedge. I once again utilized another conceiere to order an additional one small sized salmon cube, again with no garnish or lemon wedge ...awful service!In addition, my $28.34 dinner consist of nothing delicious or pretty, as at least McDonalds gives us a toy with a childs meal.With Katana food portion sizes, overpriced small sized menu options and waitresses like Ananda G, I will never return to this restaurant again upon my upcoming West Hollywood visits.PS: I had to significantly crop & adjust food pictures just to post a decent Facebook picture.

We called and spoke to Morgan as the greeter and we had Bryant as table service. It was as late dinner at 10.30pm Friday night.We got a spot by the window with a view over Sunset Boulevard towards the city lights.Bryant handed out the menus and suggested we order a variety of things and be prepared for the food to start coming. This is what we had:-Yellowtail sashimi - Fresh and zesty-Beef wrapped asparagus - after the first bite thought we were on a winner, they went quickly.-Crab fried rice- packed with crab and really tasty.-Potstickers - crispy skin but juicy inside. The side of kimchee was a spicey cleanser to the dipping sauce.-Fried chicken with cilantro mayonnaise - this aint no KFC...squeeze the lemon and double dip the sauces as this is a crowd pleaser.-Wagyu beef and chicken with green onion skewers - charcoal flavour has been infused into every bite without sacrificing on tenderness. If you are hungry double up on this order.-Wagyu and lobster skewer - this xxl skewer was good but on balance, would stick to the extra robata skewers.-Dessert - there were a couple of choices but we went with the fried ice cream which had a combination of tempura style batter with fresh berries. It wasnt too sweet and was a great way to finish the meal.
