2023-07-24 19:28:33Great vibes, great service and great food!Food:- Caprese Katsu Sando: Tastes just like what you think, a caprese in the form of a katsu sandwich. Wonderfully breaded chicken katsu with fresh sliced mozzarella and tomato. Enveloped by two slices of soft Japanese milk bread. Each bite is light and refreshing. Surprisingly was a big portion.- Egg Sando: perfectly cooked egg! Not over cooked or under cooked! The egg salad is also quite light and the hint of fresh dill only brings the whole egg Sando to the next level.- Draft Pineapple Cream Soda: I normally wouldn’t review the fountain drinks but this place has draft specialty drinks! I got the pineapple cream soda which was so refreshing on a hot LA summer day!- Ringo Sparkling water: got these complimentary and they are a light refreshing sparkling water with the taste of apple.- Waffle fries: crispy and perfect waffle fries! Was slightly skeptical at first but they are quite complimentary to the soft Japanese milk bread.Service: Amazing service, although it’s order via kiosk, the service staff was very attentive and checked in with their customers even after serving the food. Even gave out free complimentary Ringo sparkling water. 5/5 service.Setting: Great vibes, there is indoor and outdoor setting. Beautifully furnished and good tunes playing.

2023-07-27 01:02:51This place reminded me a lot of the amazing food+dishes Ive had when I went to Japan...so that says a lot!! I highly recommend getting their katsu sando with waffle fries and adding a side of their curry sauce to dip it in. HEAVENLY!!! And definitely get their dill egg salad sando too.

2023-06-01 05:07:25I waited in eager anticipation for this place to open for months and when it finally did, it did not disappoint! I’ve tried 5 different dishes so far - my favorite is the katsu curry plate and the katsu rice bowl, but everything has been excellent. By far the best katsu on the westside. The owner is also super friendly and awesome. I’m so happy to have Katsu Bar as an addition to the neighborhood!

2023-06-05 03:46:09Im positively surprised. The image I had in my mind before trying this is of those cold Katsu sandwiches you get from Japanese supermarkets, where the chicken is cold, soggy and chewy. This is not it! The chicken was perfect, juicy and tender and super crispy outside. Bread was super fluffy and moist, and the Yuzu slaw was an excellent final touch which made this a wonderful chicken katsu sando! 10/10 will eat here again!I also had the chicken tenders in Korean spicy garlic soy sauce. I was told the spicy level is 5 out of 10, but I think its more like 3 out of 10 (meaning very mild). For me this is the perfect level of spicy and I loved it! Like the chicken in the sandwich it was juicy and tender and perfectly crisp!

2023-09-13 17:41:43The good and the bad. Unfortunately the signature dish (chicken katsu sandwich) was VERY off - putting. I am usually so fond of Japanese shokupan / milk bread. But this sandwich was soggy and had the distinct flavor and scent of artificial butter spray. I think they must have put some sort of cooking spray on the bread before toasting it. There were overly sweet notes with the sweet bread plus their sweet berry sauce. There was not that nice sour tang or savoriness that you would normally get with a standard Bulldog katsu sauce. No one in my family could finish their sando. Two of us felt a visceral reaction to these odd smells and sweetness and could not stomach another bite.I loved the curry and two mushroom options (portobello and button mushroom) over rice or udon. They definitely do the vegetarian options exceptionally well! Nice counter staff and beautiful food presentation in the custom takeout boxes. Fast, friendly service. I think if they improve the bizarre flavor profile of the katsu sando, it would be a hit. Maybe I just had a bad batch. I am sticking to all vegetarian if I come back.

2023-10-17 20:40:21Amazing, scrumptious dishes. I had the Katsu Sando with waffle fries (both pork and chicken) best Sandwich ever and adorable to eat! fries are prolly better than chic fil a. As writing this, I am eating the Cauliflower curry plate for the 1st time and my goodness! eating the veggies did not feel like a chore. Sodas are new! the environment is super welcoming and friendly!
