Went for Valentines Day, so I thoroughly understand the grading curve is skewed against them. Food was great, service was Ok. It was a busy night for dine in and takeout alike. We will definitely revisit on a more calm night as we usually do to restaurants. Fish was fresh as well as the edamame. Rice was a bit overcooked and under-seasoned, but we could tell it had great potential on a normal night. The short ribs were the best weve had in the area, highly suggest trying those.
Food was amazing. You definitely get your moneys worth. Our waitress Vanessa was very sweet and knowledgeable of all the different kinds of food. Overall a great experience.
I love coming here and have been for years. Its the best sushi in town. Great customer service and family friendly. We tried the clams and they were so good! All the rolls have so much flavor and are rolled well. The nigiri and sashimi are fresh. It is very clean inside with a nice atmosphere. They get pretty busy, especially weekends

Been a customer of Kazans for close to 20 years. Have never had a bad experience there. Ive referred many of my friends to eat there and all of them have enjoyed the experience.They know me and know that nigiri sushi is my favorite. My ordering is basically done as soon as I walk in. Theyll tell me of any new fish that they have.Today, Ly told me that they had Toro and Blue Fin tuna so I added them to my usual order. I always order Uni if they have it.

I woke up today super hungry for sushi, as is normal for me.I’m a bit of a sushi connoisseur, and this was my first time here.The lunch time reopening was at 12:00pm, I placed my order for a rainbow roll and tekka roll.When I placed my order at 12:04, the lady over over the phone said it would be 20 min.So I waited In my car and then came inside around 12:15. At 12:25 the meal was ready.The meal came out to like $16 and some change.It was DELICIOUS.Having tried about 20 different sushi spots in the neighboring area from Vacaville to Sacramento, I have to say this was the best sushi meal I’ve had yet. The price was also perfectly reasonable.The dish was also very nicely presented.I’ll have to try this place again with their cooked options, as both the rainbow and tekka rolls only use raw fish, but as far as I can tell, I’m not going back to Hisui or Umi across town.They only do take out, because of covid, and there’s no outside seating. Still come anyways.This place is quality, for a really fair price.
Relaxing atmosphere, very friendly staff. Ordered a few rolls and a bento box, decent portions. Food was not wow but had good taste. Appetisers came quick but main course took a while for it not being a busy night. Overall good experience to have an easy going night

As someone who eats sushi quite frequently I think this sushi is mediocre. I ordered to go and it was bland, lacked flavor, and was luke warm when I ate it. I don’t expect my sushi to be scorching, but to wait 35 mins for it I thought it would be warmer than what it was. I went simply because the reviews were great however I was completely let down! I don’t understand the hype from this place, so if you are hesitant... DONT DO IT!The plus was that the staff were extremely nice and friendly, but I will never be spending my money there ever again. If you want good sushi, try places in Davis or simply go to Sacramento!
I have been a regular here for years now with my parents. The staff are friendly, courteous and professional to say the very least. The place is always clean and although it shares a plaza with other businesses, often has a lot of parking. Sushi is kind of white washed. There are however so many options to choose from. We were told wed get a california roll with the bento box dinner but because we chose w phili roll it substituted it. Normally wouldnt mins but my mom is a vegetarian so that was a bummer. Over all decent food!
I love their variety of rolls and that you can get interesting ingredients on them not found at other sushi places. My friend and I wanted to sit at a table but they didnt have any available at the moment so they let us sit at the bar and have a drink until a table opened up. Our server was very sweet and attentive and I enjoyed my two rolls immensely.
I live in Vacaville. My family have been going to Kazan for over 10 years. The staff is very friendly. We eat here on the average of 3 times a month. Never once has Kazan disappointed me. I love their rolls and my handsome eats their sushi. My kids favorites are the Peabody roll and their Kazan roll. Their bento boxes are great too!! Fresh food and friendly faces!!
Service was awesome food was delish! They handed me a menu with 10+ yrs ago prices, after the great service and good food the PRICE IS WORTH IT! other than that I do recommend
Ive come here for years because they have my favorite roll. Ive brought many friends and family here, introducing them to Kazan, a restaurant we all frequent at now. Weve experienced good customer service and more than often bad customer service but today was the worst EVER. It was my sister`s birthday. A 20 minute wait to be seated turned into 50. Service was garbage then 2 hours into this crappy experience, were told no credit/debt cards I hope you have enough cash or checks. Our bill was about $120 and we only had $100 in cash. The manager/owner apologized for the terrible service but claim none of it was their fault because they were too busy and there was nothing she could do to help, but suggested I bring the rest of the money later. We wont be coming back, not just because of this, but because overall their service sucks. And the birthday girl ended up writing a check for her dinner :-(

After more time spent perusing the menu, it is clear that they offer several different options, like udon, teriyaki, don buri, bento 🍱 combos, and tempura, alongside their extensive list of sushi offerings. Its just a great place to have a good.

This place was wonderful. We were in town for business, a group of 5, so we went family style and tried six different rolls. Each one was delicious. The service was good and prices fair. Will definitely go again.

BEST SUSHI in Vacaville, hands down! I add cream cheese to every roll and its 💣 the customer service is excellent! I dont know her name that takes my orders but she is always so helpful and sweet. Definitely recommend this place! The 1st Street Special is one of my faves!

Amazing food, but one of the waitresses is probably one of the rudest I have ever encountered. She is weirdly judgemental of us drinking and condescending. Basically, she hurt my feelings haha but the food is really good and we always have a good time despite her. I hope shes alright.
My basketball club was traveling home from the bay and was craving Japanese Food. We found Kazan through Yelp, which had great reviews. To our surprise we got so much ATTITUDE from the Hostess Jean, we were a large party of 18 and she seemed annoyed that we were there. Then when she sat us down, she served us drinks in red cups. We merely asked why no glasses and again her negative attitude came out. So we all decided we were not going to support this business and we all walked out. As we were leaving she was telling the other customers that we were unhappy because of the Red cups, she was clueless of her Negative Attitude. So sorry I cant give you a rating on the food. I hope she realizes and changes for the better.
Kazan is not my favorite Sushi place in Vacaville. The service is always sub par in my opinion. The reason for recieveing three stars instead of four, however, is that the sushi quality is ok and the flavor is always great. I have never had an actual food problem or cleanliness complaint, just poor service. The bathrooms have always been clean also. As far as food goes, everything is fine.
I walked in and was like do you guys have good sushi? And they were like heck yeah! Then it began, it felt as if i were a (nice) great white shark swiming through a world of beautiful fish offering themselves to my ever so hungry appetite. Worst customer service, the lady said they just closed, yet people were still inside enjoying their time and eating. The closing time needs to be updated. Came at 9pm, but online and hours of operation on window says 9:30pm closing. Very disappointed. She didnt even ask us, how can we be helped, she flat out refused us. Asked for a paper menu, but she said the menu is outdated over 10 years old, and due to Covid, the prices are not accurate. What kind of business tells us these details, seems like theyre reasoning is to not eat there. Will not ever come and support this business.
I watched the cook in the back pull her mask down multiple times to eat and drink while she was preparing food. She didnt wash her hands at all. Sushi isnt even that good here.
The sushi is okay. I don’t like the fact that when I call in my order for pick up they have it waiting on the counter. For some reason they have been a lot slower than usual. I ended leaving after being told my 2 rolls would be an hour wait and went to Umi.
Most of the time sevice and food was good.But may be tonight being Friday, they were very busy.My order was forgotten and when I reminded the wait staff, my order came not properly cooked. Another waitress put in mu order again, put one oxf my order back on the grill.Then it took about an hour for the rest of my order to come to our table. My friend finally ate her food because she was tired of waiting for my food to come out of the kitchen. We decided to fake everything to go, and also agreed n9t to come back on Friday nights.
We had a baby roach crawl on the table, after telling the waitress, she just asked if we wanted a diffrent cup, None of our food came out correctly, the appitzer came out with the rolls, then they forgot to give some of our 6 roll order. Once we finished eating the waitress came out to bring us soup, however we all so put off by the roach under the cup we refused the soup.I would never eat here again, because of the roach that came out from under the table, the floor under the table was littered with various food, so it was roach heaven.to make it worse there are not other food places beside the establishment, so the roaches did not come from other place but are in this resturant.I will be reporting this to the US Food and Drug administration, because food code is strict about insects and rodents.It could be a isolated event, however our white tea cup had brown spots and stains inside the ceramic tea cup, We asked for another cup and that cup had food crumbs also.All in all the look and feel of the place is nice but the roach gets it a thumbs down.I will post the case number after I repost restuarany tomorrow as it was Sunday when we went.

The service and food has been consistently great, and its out favorite sushi spot in town.We came here for lunch on a Monday and it was fantastic. Service was great - there was one server working but our food came out very quickly.We had the lobster tempura and a few different rolls. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the portion sizes on everything were generous. We had the lion king, golden salmon, California, and Saturday rolls.This was our first visit and we were impressed. After having been to several other sushi spots in town, this is our new favorite, hands down.

The fish tasted clean. The grilled squid had a beautiful smokey char. The rolls had good flavor and werent drowned in sauce.Its a nice little spot to go to for a fresh sushi meal! ごちそうさまでした!

2021-11-25 06:31:31A pretty solid sushi restaurant for the area. Beef was overcooked but had great seasoning and teriyaki sause, but for $18 they sure can cut the price by $3 to match its value. The salad was very good and there was plenty of it for each entree! The miso soup was alright... There are over 40 different sushis to choose from and there is a whole menu dedicated to them!Service really stood out tonight as they knew that Thanksgiving was tomorrow and there was a relaxed atmosphere, especially with the warriors vs 76ers game on. The server calls to let your group know the table is ready and quickly seats you with the menus and checks up often for water/soda.Ive come to expect a solid Japanese restaurant in the area and its just matched with what I thought. Maybe a $1-3 price adjustment on some items like the bento and teriyaki entrees and its pretty good for what it is! :)

2022-01-21 02:56:25Really affordable place for sushi. Some as low as 4.99. The fish here is fresh and delicious. Small location but very clean, friendly, and full of energy. Not many drink selections but I washed it down with a miso soup and some brown rice tea. I payed 36 dollars for a dinner of two. Definitely coming back.
