A gem in a sea of very crowded sushi in the area. The prices are a bit higher but its one of the top 2-3 sushi restaurants that my wife and I have been to.We chose ala-carte as were not huge rice eaters and stuck to mostly sashimi dishes. From the buttery smooth melt in your mouth Toro to the slightly charred wagyu that was like visiting heaven you cant go wrong. I think we tried about all of the sashimi dishes and a few sushi options, try the skip jack it was excellent! You arent going to get california rolls at this place and for good reason. If you want legit sushi like youd get in Japan, this is your spot.

Happened to find this place and I highly recommend the omakase at the bar.The chef is a bit shy but super cute. Dassai is a good option for sake, kind of sweet and soft.

One of the best traditional sushi places in LA. It always delivers a great variety of high quality items; omakase at the bar is highly recommended.

Really wanted to like the place, the chef tries hard, but the lack of customers kills sushi restaurants. Fish just not fresh and the variety is low. For $150 each, lot of choices elsewhere.

One of the best places that I have had sushi in the valley. Great omakase. Fresh fish. No fancy sushi rolls here. It definitely isnt for everyone looking for a more heightened experience.

Kazu Sushi was one of the latest sushi restaurants that Ive been to. Im a huge fan of omakase sushi restaurants, and this one didnt disappoint at all. In fact, it was one of the best omakase style sushi restaurants Ive ever been to.When I went, I sat at the bar and was served raw oysters, kanpachi, toro, blue fin tuna, sea eel, yellowtail, salmon, albacore, blue crab handroll, and others that I cant quite remember but were great. Everything was phenomenal. Fresh, melt in your mouth, and tasty. Especially their sea eel. One of the best sea eels that Ive ever had in a sushi restaurant. In all, I highly recommend this restaurant. Although the ambience is somewhat bare and practical, and the service somewhat on the lower side, its definitely the place to go soley for the food. Its probably the best sushi restaurant in Studio City, and Ive tried nearly all of them

The best sushi in all of LA. The freshest and purest. No frills. As good as Japan. No Americanized/Californiazed sushi or sushi rolls here, in fact no sushi rolls - for that, go somewhere else. Come here for true Japanese sushi and sashimi. I think Kasusan is happy to have this place stay low-key. This place has been around for decades, low-key, in a strip mall, one-chef, one waitress, quiet, simple, but the quality and taste are delectable!
