First, let me say that Keedys Palm Desert is one of my favorite breakfast and lunch places to eat. The service is top-notch, and the food is true old school diner cuisinethat is delicious. So, when I saw that Keedys was opening another restaurant near my house, I was super excited. Then I saw Keedys unveil their On the Run Shack for breakfast and lunch and I thought I went to heaven. The idea of grabbing breakfast or lunch on the go is exactly what my local area needed. Well, this morning I tried Keedys On the Run Shack, and I was extremely disappointed. Between my spouse and I we spent $30 on 2 breakfast sandwiches that were mediocre at best. I bought the Fried Chicken and Waffles Sandwhich. The waffle was dry and tasteless and the chicken appeared to have been precooked and tasted like it had been sitting in a heated bin or maybe under a heat lamp. My spouse had the lox and bagel sandwich. The bagel was barely toasted and tasted like something you would buy off the grocery store shelf. Definitely not Keedys normally excellent food. Besides the poor quality, the size of my waffle sandwich was basically a half of a triangle cut sandwich. The sandwich is way over priced. This shouldnt be more than $8 or $9. Not $13! I know On the Run just opened, so I am hoping the kinks and food get better with time, so I can comeback here and leave a 5 star review. Right now, I feel On the Run is a 1 star at best, but I gave 2 stars because the staff was nice and welcoming.

I was so excited to see the creative items on the menu. I have tried a few items. The breakfast taco, the breakfast sandwich and the egg bites. I try to eat clean so for me the taco and sandwich were a splurge. The egg bites were fantastic and fit nicely into my more healthy way of eating. I was encouraged by the vegetarian and vegan options as well which are hard to find in a grab and go type of location. The milkshakes are beyond tempting!The staff was lovely.All in all, I give this “on the run” 5 stars. It will be my daily stop!

Love the original Keedys! So happy that there is one in La Quinta now. To-go meals are amazing!!!
